LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON.
This boy has a mysterious charm that baffles me; he does things far beyond his age. After his presentation at the launch of Mallam Garba Shehu's book, instead of simply walking away from the stage, this boy chose a different route. He went to where the VIPs were seated and boldly, yet respectfully, stretched out his tiny hand to them.
It was so heartwarming that the General Yakubu Gowon stood up to shake hands with this little angel—you can't take humility away from General Gowon. When he reached the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, Muhammadu folded his fist in salutation. How he knew that Emirs rarely take handshakes is a mystery, but the Emir broke protocol to shake the boy's hand!
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar called the boy for a special photo, and Senator Akume also rose to give him a hug, recognizing this Imane-born prince.
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was all smiles as the boy called him 'my professor'!
For my son Muhammadu Buhari, it was a beautiful outing as he shone in the awesome grace of God.
Beautifully musing.

Coalition not a threat to PDP, Makinde declares
.As S/West PDP leaders reaffirm support for party
Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is an institution that cannot be threatened by talks about an emerging coalition, noting that the party remains united and undivided in the South-West geopolitical zone.
The governor said that PDP leaders in the South-West have resolved that as responsible leaders, they would stay in the party and fix whatever challenges arise, adding that the PDP will deal with its issues and come out stronger as the only credible political alternative for Nigerians.
Governor Makinde stated this on Friday, while speaking with newsmen shortly after a meeting of the South-West PDP Caucus, held at the South-West PDP Secretariat named after Hon. Soji Adagunodo.
He said: "We want the whole world to know that the PDP in the South-West is united and we are together and that the coalition is not a threat to the PDP.
“Who are these people in this coalition? They were in some parties before, whether PDP or APC. What are their antecedents? Does it mean that anytime they move from one party to the other, they have repented or they have something new to offer the people? These are salient questions.
"This Soji Adagunodo House is for the PDP South-West. If the roof is leaking, as leaders of PDP in the South-West, are we going to abandon the building and go somewhere else to take refuge? No. We will stay inside here and fix it to let the people know that we are responsible leaders and we have the interest of the people at heart.
"So, a lot of people can say whatever they like, but in a party like the PDP, which is an institution, we have our own ways and means of dealing with such issues. When we get to the point where we have to deal with such issues, I give you the assurance that we will."
Earlier, the meeting which comprised the Osun State governor, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, who was represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and other key leaders, issued a communique, stressing that the leadership of the party in the zone distanced itself from the coalition.
Noting that the leaders reaffirmed their loyalty to the PDP and commitment to the unity, stability, progress and success of the party at all levels in the zone and across the country, the communiqué added that the PDP South-West Caucus threw its weight behind the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) that the party would be open to working with other like-minded citizens desirous of rescuing Nigeria from the stranglehold of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It added that the the Caucus commended and appreciated Governors Makinde and Adeleke and other leaders of the PDP in the South-West Zone for their untiring roles in ensuring the stability and growth of the PDP, noting that the “PDP in South-West is intact and urges all organs and relevant bodies of the party to remain focused and continue to work assiduously towards the successful conduct of the scheduled National Convention to further strengthen and reposition the PDP for the task ahead.”
The communiqué read further: “The Caucus resolves to intensify efforts to ensure the victory of our great Party in the upcoming by-elections in Oyo and Ogun States as well as Local Government Council election in Lagos State. The Caucus is confident that the PDP as a party of choice in the South West and Nigeria at large will record sweeping victory in the coming elections.
“The Caucus demands that the Federal Government immediately release the withheld Osun State Local Government allocation. The withholding of the Osun State Local Government allocation by the Federal Government is unconstitutional, unwarranted and a violation of the rights and wellbeing of the people of Osun State.
“The Caucus expresses very serious concern over the worsening insecurity and economic hardship in the country under the APC administration. The Caucus reechoes the declaration of Governor Makinde that the 2027 election will be between Nigerians and the APC, with Nigerians ultimately triumphing under the banner of the PDP.
“The Caucus again commends Governor Makinde and Governor Adeleke for their people-oriented leadership in ensuring peace, stability, security and infrastructural development in the South West Zone.
“The Caucus urges Nigerians not to lose hope but remain resolute and continue to rally with the PDP as our party leads the charge to rescue our nation from the misrule of the APC.”
Leaders in attendance at the meeting also include the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Amb. Taofeek Arapaja; Dr Eddy Olafeso; Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Dr Saka Balogun; PDP National Vice Chairman (South-West), Barr. Kamorudeen Ajisafe; and Oyo State PDP Secretary, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, among others.Coalition not a threat to PDP, Makinde declares .As S/West PDP leaders reaffirm support for party Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is an institution that cannot be threatened by talks about an emerging coalition, noting that the party remains united and undivided in the South-West geopolitical zone. STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE
AT BRICS SUMMIT, PRESIDENT TINUBU CALLS FOR REEVALUATION OF GLOBAL GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE, FINANCE AND HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS
President Bola Tinubu has called for a reevaluation of the current global governance structure and the financial and healthcare systems, urging greater equity and inclusion for low-income and emerging economies, particularly in Africa.
At the 17th meeting of the Global South and the Emerging Economies bloc, BRICS, on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the President stated that environmental degradation, the climate crisis, and healthcare inequalities should receive more attention, as they contribute to slowing growth and development.
President Tinubu, invited to the summit by Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, stated that Nigeria supports the BRICS position on the need to focus on collective, fair, and equitable global development.
Nigeria became the ninth partner country of BRICS in January 2025, joining Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan. The 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan in October 2024 created the partner-country category.
President Tinubu said, "Nigeria, therefore, associates with what I have heard today and all that has happened in BRICS. The next issues are financial restructuring and reevaluation of the global structure."
He noted that environmental degradation, climate crisis, and global healthcare inequalities were shared concerns pertinent to Africa.
"Africa has contributed the least to global emissions but suffers the most," he added.
President Tinubu emphasised the need for a new path of justice, anchored in fairness, sustainable technology transfer, and accessible financing, so that emerging economies can fully benefit from various initiatives.
"The African continent is creating the path through the African Carbon Market Initiative and the Great Green Wall. We believe that COP-30 will strengthen our resolve to adopt a strategic approach to achieving a healthy global environment.
"Nigeria strongly believes in South-South cooperation. We can, therefore, not be passive participants in global decision-making on financial restructuring, debt forgiveness, climate change, environmental issues, and healthcare.
"We must be the architects of a future that addresses the specific needs and concerns of youths, who represent 70 per cent of our population in Nigeria. Therefore, Nigeria remains guided by our long-term vision, 2050, and nationally determined contribution.
"We are taking bold steps to accelerate renewable energy adoption, mainstream climate action, promote nature-based solutions, strengthen urban resilience, champion South-South cooperation, align with the global renewal framework and achieve universal health coverage for all," the President stated.
President Tinubu also said that addressing non-communicable diseases must remain a collective health concern.
"As we approach COP-30 and look to strengthen the global health system, we believe the BRICS must not only be a bloc for emerging economies but also a beacon for emerging solutions and resolutions rooted in solidarity, self-reliance, sustainability, and shared prosperity of a common future.
"Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to strategic collaboration that translates into sustainable and inclusive development for all," he noted.
Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance, accompanied the President to the summit.
In exercising its pro tempore presidency of BRICS, the Brazilian government announced Nigeria's formal admission as a partner country on January 17, 2025.
As the world's sixth-most populous country and one of Africa's major economies, Nigeria shares convergent interests with other BRICS members.
Nigeria plays an active role in strengthening South-South cooperation and reforming global governance, which are top priorities during Brazil's current presidency.

Japan Just Built a Womb Outside the Human Body — and It Works. It sounds like science fiction. But it’s real.
In a quiet lab in Japan, something extraordinary has happened: The world’s first fully functional artificial womb is now a reality.
Not a prototype.
Not a theory.
But a working system — where life can grow without ever entering a human body.
Inside this capsule, everything is simulated:
Oxygen levels. Nutrients. Waste removal.
Even the subtle rhythms of a real placenta.
It’s a womb… without a mother.
And it’s not just about futuristic wonder.
It’s about saving lives.
For premature babies who wouldn’t survive outside the womb —this could be their second chance.
For families struggling with infertility, a new path may be opening.
But with every miracle comes a question.

This news not make me happy about former governor of oyo state late Adebayo Alao Akala 's children
Crisis rocks Alao-Akala’s family as daughter seeks DNA test for siblings, exhumation of ex-Gov’s body
by Segun Showunmi, Ibadan
A legal battle has broken out in the family of former Oyo Governor Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala after his first daughter, Mrs Oluwatoyin Alao-Aderinto, approached an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan for an order for a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test on seven individuals claiming to be biological children of the deceased.
She is also seeking for an application for the exhumation of the late Governor’s body to carry out the DNA test.
In a suit filed before Justice Taiwo of Court 12 at the State High Court, ring road, Ibadan with Motion Number I/443/2024, Alao-Aderinto, through her counsel, Oladipo Olasope (SAN), is praying the court to direct that the DNA tests be carried out on herself, including siblings, Olamide, Adebukola, Olamipo, Olamiju, a serving member of the House of Representatives, Tabitha and Olamikunle, as listed in the motion on notice filed before the court.
She also said the tests be conducted at a court approved, accredited laboratory to determine their true biological relationship with the late Governor.
As part of the application, Alao-Aderinto is also seeking an order of court, directing exhumation of Otunba Alao-Akala’s remains from the mausoleum built in the former governor’s Ogbomoso country home for the purpose of carrying out the paternity test.
The results of the tests, she pleaded, should be filed under a sealed envelope and delivered directly to the presiding Judge for pronouncement in open court.
The fresh application brought before the court is a new twist in what has become a messy and prolonged family feud over the vast estate of the late politician, who died intestate on January 12, 2022.
The crisis, which has been brewing silently since his burial became public in October 2022 when one Kemi Alao-Akala and Olamide Alabi, believed to be one of the deceased’s daughters, obtained a Letter of Administration from the Oyo State Probate Registry without the knowledge or consent of Oluwatoyin, the first child.
According to Alao-Aderinto, this singular act was a deliberate and unlawful exclusion that contravene applicable laws guiding intestate succession in Nigeria.
In her affidavit and accompanying exhibit filed in support of her motion, she accused the duo of manipulating facts to claim sole control over the estate, despite the presence of other biological children and heirs.
The estate in question is said to be massive, spreading across several properties in Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja, United Kingdom and the United States of America, including a five-star hotel in Ghana, vehicles and multiple bank accounts containing hundreds of millions in naira, dollars and pounds sterling.
Her position on the deceased father’s estate stems from the strong resolve at ensuring that every individual, including nuclear and extended family members, aides of the former Governors, who served him meritoriously without blemish and yet to identified children among many others are catered for, as against the alleged winner- takes-it -all approach adopted by the duo of the defendants.
The said administrators listed only seven individuals as legal heirs but the position, as articulated by her counsel, is that there is no consensus on the paternity of these persons and the inclusion of some and exclusion of others in the administration of the deceased’s estate raises troubling questions of authenticity and equity. It is on this basis she seeks judicial intervention through scientific means.
In an August 2023 letter made public, her counsel Oladipo Olasope SAN, warned that the exclusion of the claimant who is the first daughter of the late Alao-Akala, violated both moral norms and legal rights, stressing that unless resolved, the dispute could further polarise the family and damage the late governor’s political legacy. This news not make me happy about former governor of oyo state late Adebayo Alao Akala 's children Crisis rocks Alao-Akala’s family as daughter seeks DNA test for siblings, exhumation of ex-Gov’s body by Segun Showunmi, Ibadan A legal battle has broken out in the family of former Oyo Governor Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala after his first daughter, Mrs Oluwatoyin Alao-Aderinto, approached an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan for an order for a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test on seven individuals claiming to be biological children of the deceased. However, Hector Ekeakita, who is the Chief Security Officer of the council, insisted that Iheamnacho resigned.
“He (Iheamnacho) was not attacked by thugs. Let’s tell Nigerians the truth, those were Ahoada-East youths who came in their mass to tell him, ‘please, our brother, you are siphoning money. Just two months in office, you have decided not to take care of our environment.’
“They said he should tell them why the LGA is dirty. No staff come to work. And he stays in Port Harcourt to administer his administration. So the youths were angry and they blocked him, so with that pressure he said he does not want to do it again.”

Baba Ijesha, whose real name is Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, was a well-known Yoruba actor in the Nigerian movie industry. He had a reputation for playing comic and street-wise roles, which made him popular among fans. However, his career and public image took a massive downturn in 2021 when he became involved in a serious ch!ld m0lestation scandal that shook Nollywood and the entire Nigerian entertainment space.
The controversy started when Nigerian comedienne, Princess (whose real name is Damilola Adekoya), accused Baba Ijesha of $exually m0lesting her 14-year-0ld foster daughter. According to Princess, the abuse had been going on for years but wasn’t initially known. She later claimed that the girl opened up about the abuse, which prompted Princess to set up a CCTV trap to catch him in the act. The footage reportedly showed Baba Ijesha engaging in inappropriate behavior with the min0r when he visited Princess’s home.
The video evidence sparked public outrage. Many Nigerians were angered, especially because of the age of the victim and the fact that Baba Ijesha was caught on video. Actress Iyabo Ojo was one of the most vocal celebrities who stood with Princess and demanded justice. Iyabo Ojo took to social media several times to condemn Baba Ijesha and called out those in the film industry who were trying to defend him. Her consistent outspokenness caused friction within Nollywood, as some colleagues accused her of using the case for clout, but she stood her ground.
The matter was taken to court, and Baba Ijesha was charged with several counts related to $exual assault and lndecent treatment of a chiId. During the trial, Princess testified in court and stood firm in her accusations, insisting she only wanted justice for her foster daughter. Despite the legal battles and the emotional trauma the case brought, both Princess and Iyabo Ojo remained committed to seeing the case through.
Eventually, in July 2022, the court found Baba Ijesha guilty on four out of the six charges brought against him, including $exual assault and attempted $exual assault of a chiId. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. The ruling brought a mix of reactions—relief from those who supported the victim, and disappointment from his fans and those who once respected him.
The case highlighted the importance of protecting minors from abuse and sparked broader conversations in Nigeria about child safety, celebrity culture, and accountability. For Baba Ijesha, the scandal marked a fall from grace that not only ended his acting career but also left a permanent stain on his legacy.

We're growing Oyo's economy, repositioning state as investment destination- Makinde, Explains Govt House project
Oyo State governor, 'Seyi Makinde, has reiterated his administration's commitment to building a resilient economy, improving the quality of life for the people and securing the future for generations to come.
The governor said this on Friday while presenting a State of the State Address, held at the Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
He noted that through several policies being implemented by the state government and its simple approach to solving complex governance issues, Oyo State has become an investment destination.
Governor Makinde stressed that the government's efforts have yielded many positive results, including the designation of the Fasola Agribusiness Industrial Hub as Nigeria’s first agricultural transformation centre by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the ongoing construction of the Eruwa Agribusiness Industrial Hub and the admittance of Oyo State into the World Union of Wholesale Market, the first sub-national in Africa to achieve such feat.
Others, the governor noted, are the ongoing upgrade of the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, which first phase will be commissioned in October 2025, the fixing of the state's infrastructure deficit, with major arterial roads across the state, inner roads in Ibadan already done and dusted and the ongoing construction of 87 kilometres of rural roads under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), while efforts are also on to complete the 48 kilometres Ido-Eruwa Road.
Makinde also reiterated that the fixing of inner roads will continue in the coming months, with Ogbomoso and Oyo zones set to become the next ports of call.
He declared that the administration would not relent until the vision of making Oyo State a regional economic powerhouse, a cultural beacon, and a place where every citizen can thrive, is achieved.
In the education and health care sectors, Governor
Makinde assured residents of the state that his government would bridge the gap between rural and urban education and continue to upgrade education infrastructure so as to reduce deficit.
He also promised to continue to provide healthcare programmes that would bring benefits to the people of the state.
This was just as the governor addressed the controversy surrounding the planned reconstruction of the Oyo State Government House, explaining that the instability in foreign exchange, among other factors, is responsible for the perceived high cost of the project, which is expected to cover the reconstruction of buildings, roads and other ancillary facilities in the Government House and adjoining chalets.
He said: “Yesterday, I trended for the wrong reason, because people were saying we want to spend N63bn to renovate the Government House. My answer to them is just to point our attention to one thing and I want you to listen to me attentively.
“Before I came into office, the previous administration took a loan of $200m from the World Bank for the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project (IUFMP). As of the time I came in on May 29, 2019, that dollar-denominated loan was in the book of Oyo State as N70bn, because a dollar to a Naira was around N350. We were paying about N700 million every month to service the loan. But we finished the IUFMP, though, before I came in, $100m had been spent and $50m committed.
“This administration was supposed to spend N$50m to complete the projects but we did not spend the amount. We honoured all the commitments made by the previous administration, and returned $18m to the World Bank, which we didn’t spend. That was how we have managed the project prudently in Oyo State. But that is not even where I am going.
“My point is, in 2019 in the Oyo State books, N70bn was what Oyo State owed. Fast-forward to today, the IUFMP project is completed without adding one inch of drainage to the project, but simply by the exchange rate movement, Oyo State today owes N320bn. This is because the N70bn calculated as N350 to one dollar in 2019 is now the same amount, but it is now calculated at about N1,540 to the dollar.
That is our reality. We have now moved from paying N700m on the IUFMP loan when I came in, to now paying N3bn to service that loan monthly now.
“Can we sleep when it is raining? Yes, because the IUFMP has basically tamed the issue of erosion. We have an Advanced Warning System installed in that place. But, my point is, to manage our exchange rate is not for me to determine in Oyo State. It is on the exclusive list. But whatever it is, we will do what is in the best interest of our state.”
Governor Makinde, who also expressed his excitement that he is the governor of the state at the auspicious period of the state's 50th anniversary, which comes up in February 2025, said the state is embarking on key efforts to mark the epochal event.
He maintained that the government is planning to purchase two aircraft for security surveillance and that this will be achieved before the 50th anniversary celebration on February 3, 2026, during which the government will celebrate the state and those who have contributed to make it what it is today.
Earlier in his address, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, appreciated the governor for prioritising the welfare of the workers and for approving the recruitment of 181 new staff for the Oyo State House of Assembly, among other developments.
He assured the citizens that the 10th Assembly remained committed to delivering quality legislation, robust oversight and responsive representation with sincerity, diligence, and accountability.
Also speaking, House Assembly members, including the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Mohammed Fadeyi, Majority Leader, Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin, Hon. Gabriel Babajide, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Hon. Dele Adeola and Hon. Peter Ojedokun, among others, lauded Governor Makinde for his people-oriented leadership.
They all pointed out other areas they would want the government to focus its attention in the coming months, including the resuscitation of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Annex in Oyo, rural roads in other zones of the state, education and health infrastructure, among others.
The event had in attendance former deputy governor and PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja; former deputy governors, Engr Hamid Gbadamosi and Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi; wife of a former Governor, Chief Mrs Mutiat Ladoja; Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima; Secretary to the State Government, Prof Olanike Adeyemo; Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi; and Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni.
Others were Commissioners, Chairmen of Boards and Agencies, Chairmen of local governments councils, traditional rulers, PDP leaders and religious leaders, among other dignitaries. We're growing Oyo's economy, repositioning state as investment destination- Makinde, Explains Govt House project Oyo State governor, 'Seyi Makinde, has reiterated his administration's commitment to building a resilient economy, improving the quality of life for the people and securing the future for generations to come. In the education and health care sectors, Governor Makinde assured residents of the state that his government would bridge the gap between rural and urban education and continue to upgrade education infrastructure so as to reduce deficit. But whatever it is, we will do what is in the best interest of our state.” Governor Makinde, who also expressed his excitement that he is the governor of the state at the auspicious period of the state's 50th anniversary, which comes up in February 2025, said the state is embarking on key efforts to mark the epochal event. Others were Commissioners, Chairmen of Boards and Agencies, Chairmen of local governments councils, traditional rulers, PDP leaders and religious leaders, among other dignitaries.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 201 Visualizações 0 Anterior -
#BREAKING: New Political Coalition Emerges — All Democratic Alliance (ADA) Applies for INEC Registration
A new political movement known as the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) has officially emerged as a coalition front of prominent politicians ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
The group, made up of influential figures such as former Senate President David Mark, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and Dr. Umar Ardo, has submitted a formal application to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) seeking registration as a political party.
According to documents received by INEC on June 20, 2025, the coalition submitted the party name, proposed logo, slogan (Justice for All), constitution, and manifesto in line with electoral guidelines.
Sources within the political movement confirmed that the decision followed months of intense deliberations by the Nigeria National Coalition Group (NNCG) a bloc that includes Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Babatunde Fashola, Rochas Okorocha, and others.
Initially, the group had considered adopting an existing party platform like the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or the Social Democratic Party (SDP). However, a high level committee chaired by Amaechi recommended launching a fresh platform to ensure a level playing field for all stakeholders.
With David Mark serving as the coalition’s interim chairman, ADA is expected to galvanize support across the country as a third force alternative, particularly among those disenchanted with both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A senior member of the coalition stated, “We believe ADA will restore the principles of equity, justice, and inclusive governance. This is more than a party; it’s a rescue mission.”
INEC, meanwhile, is currently reviewing dozens of party registration applications and has not yet made a formal decision on ADA’s status.
The emergence of ADA marks what could be a significant shift in Nigeria’s political landscape as the nation inches closer to another electoral cycle.

FG CLOSES CASE AGAINST KANU
The Federal Government has officially closed its case against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), after presenting its fifth and final witness at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Kanu is facing an eight-count charge of terrorism, but the case took an unexpected turn when the final prosecution witness — a Department of State Services (DSS) officer identified only as Mr. EEE — admitted under cross-examination that he had never investigated Kanu directly.
Mr. EEE, who works with the DSS in Abuja, told the court he only knew of Kanu through the media and had never met him. He said his role was limited to gathering reports on events in the southern region during the 2020–2021 EndSARS protests.
According to him, those reports showed that 128 police officers, 37 soldiers, and 10 DSS operatives were killed, while 164 police stations and 19 INEC offices were destroyed. However, he admitted under questioning that:
* He was not involved in investigating any specific crimes linked to Kanu;
* He had no information tying IPOB to events in Lagos, Ibadan, or Ile-Ife;
* He was unaware of the Lagos State Judicial Panel report on EndSARS, which did not implicate IPOB in the violence.
Following his testimony, government lawyers said they had presented enough evidence and would close their case.
Kanu’s lawyer, Kanu Agabi, responded by announcing plans to file a “no-case submission” — a legal argument that the prosecution has not provided sufficient evidence to continue the trial. He requested 14 days from 24th June to prepare the filing.
Justice James Omotosho granted both sides 14 days each to file their final written addresses and adjourned the case until 18 July 2025 for the adoption of those submissions.
The trial continues to draw national attention, with critics questioning the strength of the prosecution’s case and supporters of Kanu claiming the charges are politically motivated.FG CLOSES CASE AGAINST KANU The Federal Government has officially closed its case against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), after presenting its fifth and final witness at the Federal High Court in Abuja. "The most T£rrible thing I’ve ever done was slapp|ng my dad, and I really cri£d after doing It” – Femi Adebayo spill,
As he explain what really transpired between him and Oga Bello
Femi Said being an actor has made him do some t£rrible things such as slapp|ng his father, Adebayo Salami, aka Oga Bello.
While speaking with Sunday Scoop, he said as an actor, one must be ready to do anything to play unb£lievable roles.
He stated, “I have been presented with scripts where I had to ṣlàp my father on set and I must do it as an actor. He has slapp£d me on set too countless times. The moment we are acting, I don’t see him as my father anymore; I see him as a colleague and we need to interpret our roles very well.
He trained me and he is my boss in the industry. He has taught me not to f£ar whenever I come across a bigger actor or someone like him on set. What happened between Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Air Peace at Lagos airport was an unfortunate altercation. It was a loud, national reminder that Nigeria’s institutions of redress are failing and when institutions fail, the powerful take matters into their own hands, while the public watches, helpless.
Senator Oshiomhole claims he was denied boarding despite checking in online the previous night. Air Peace counters that he did not check in online, arrived late and tried to force his way through. The airline accused him of incitement and terminal disruption. The Senator, in turn, accused them of institutional extortion.
The drama was a spectacle that should never have happened. Regardless of whether the Senator was right or wrong, his decision to physically block access to the terminal and mount the baggage conveyor belt was not only unbecoming of a statesman, but it was also dangerous. The responsibility of public office requires self-restraint, not street theatre.

That Peter Obi Criticised President Tinubu For Not Wearing Black Mourning Clothes To Benue Shows He Knows Nothing About Islam
Something is seriously wrong with this social media content creator called Peter Obi! Is the man okay at all? People died in Benue, and both the Federal and State Governments are trying to find solutions, and this Agbotikuyo is complaining about the type of clothes the President wore to Benue? Really?
Imagine him saying "The President arrived not in mourning cloth but in celebratory agbada attire, like it was an occasion for joy."
Is Peter Obi aware that President Tinubu is a Muslim and that in Islam, it is not Sunnah to wear black when anyone dies?
That is why I and others have repeatedly said Peter Obi lacks the broad-mindedness to be Nigeria's President. The fellow is too selfish to think beyond his narrow political, cultural, and religious beliefs.
He wants everyone in Nigeria to conform to his own low cultural values, irrespective of their own religious background.
That was why, in 2022, his campaign donated so-called prayer mats to mosques with his images on them.
Mr. Obi does not attempt to understand Islam, even when Islam is the dominant religion in Northern Nigeria and parts of the Southwest.
And even in Christianity, there is no requirement to wear black to funerals. There is no such doctrine or culture in Scripture.
The wearing of Black is purely a European cultural practice that has been blindly adopted by people whose cultures are not well defined to the extent that they need another culture to plug gaps in their own ways of life.
For Peter Obi's education, it is haram in Islam to wear black to events such as burials, funerals, and memorials for the dead. The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalaam) is that the dead are to be buried in white clothes.
A hadith of the prophet (SAW) and narrated by Ibn Abbas states, "Wear white clothes, for they are the best of your clothes, and shroud your dead in them."
It is sad that Mr. Obi is so wrapped up in his narrow self-interest that he makes zero attempt to understand other cultures that have existed in the geographical location now known as Nigeria for a thousand years.
Mr. Obi's insensitivity to Nigeria’s cultural diversity, along with his tribalistic focus on only his Igbo kith and kin, makes him unsuited for the highest office in the land.
My counsel to Peter Obi is this: If you like wearing Black mourning clothes everywhere, due to your love for bad news and negativity, do not expect others to be like you.
You are a Roman Catholic, which is a minority faith in Nigeria. While Nigeria has freedom of religion, if you, Peter Obi, expect the rest of us to behave like you and observe your cultural and religious practices, then you had better focus on becoming the Governor of Anambra, where you had previously spent two terms of eight years causing religious division between Catholics and Anglicans.
Finally, I urge the Muslim Ummah to remember that this is a man who was caught on a leaked audio threatening "religious war" against them. And this latest criticism shows he is dead serious about that threat!

There is hunger in the land, People are suffering, This suffering Nigerians will determine APC fate in 2027 - Seyi Makinde
This was the Oyo gov statement 2 weeks ago.
To complicate the lives of Oyo people further, Seyi Makinde has set aside N64billion to renovate gov office....
Yes ... He deserves to live in luxury but he must quit the hunger activism...
The N64billion he intends to splash on his office wasn't generated by Oyo state govt...
Oyo state IGR in 2024 was N65billion, while the salary and personnel bill of the state in 2024 was N213billion...
What Seyi Makinde is generating annually as Oyo gov for 6yrs can't pay a third of Oyo workers salary, He is paying salaries and affording to splash over N64billion on govt house renovation because of the Tinubu policies he is blaming of causing hunger,
N64billion will create over 100,000 agro businessmen, and take over 500,000 Oyo people out of poverty...
Seyi Makinde won't do that... It would make the people vote for APC...
It is better he leave them hungry and renovate his office with N64billion so that the hungry people vote against APC.... After all Nigerians don't blame govs and chairmen for being hungry, they would rather blame Tinubu who gave Makinde the money he is wasting on his office...
In 2024 Oyo couldn't pay their counterpart fund to collect the N3.5billion meant to renovate public schools... The hungry and impoverished Oyo people will blame Tinubu...
N64billion will transform over 200 public schools in Oyo state to world class level...
Oyo people don't deserve that... The money should be wasted on Makinde office so that he can have beautiful Seren environment to mock hungry Oyo people and encourage them to vote out APC...
Atiku will never condemned this, Obi will observe table manners on this, Their mobs are still busy dissecting Tinubu visit to Benue they won't see this...
Tinubu policies created more money for states and local govt but govs like Seyi Makinde, Bala Mohammed, their friend from Adamawa prefer to waste this money on frivolities so that their gullible citizens who blame Tinubu for everything can remain hungry and very angry till 2027 and unleash that misguided anger at APC and Tinubu..
So that they can get back to Aso Rock and set Nigeria back by over 100 years again as they did before 2015.
It is better to born a thief than to born a mumu - Urhobo proverb

Tinubu policies created more money for states and local govt but govs like Seyi Makinde, Bala Mohammed, their friend from Adamawa prefer to waste this money on frivolities so that their gullible citizens who blame Tinubu for everything can remain hungry and very angry till 2027 and unleash that misguided anger at APC and Tinubu.. So that they can get back to Aso Rock and set Nigeria back by over 100 years again as they did before 2015. We pleaded that the President should show Leadership and visit Benue and Niger States in the spirit of deep national mourning, to offer compassion and solidarity to families torn apart by the senseless massacre of over 200 innocent Nigerians in Benue State and flooding that killed similar number in Niger State.
But what we saw in Benue visit was instead of a solemn, reflective visit, a display that would have been more befitting for the commissioning of reconstructed Enugu-Makurdi highway, a critical road connecting South and Northern Nigeria which had become impassable for years.
The President arrived not in mourning cloth but in celebratory agbada attire, like it was an occasion for joy.
Even more heartbreaking is the role of the State. Rather than been in mourning mood and weeping declared a public holiday, not for reflection or prayer, but to organize fanfare. Schools were shut down. Children who should be mourning their slaughtered classmates, and parents were instead lined up under the rain, rehearsed to sing and dance for the President. In what kind of country does this happen?
We have tragically arrived at a point where condolence visits have become carnivals. A time that should be marked by silence and solemnity is now polluted by banners, music, and rehearsed spectacles. Precious Nigerian lives have been lost, yet we’re clapping, singing, and organizing processions, as though this were a campaign rally.
This is not how any compassionate nation behaves. The energy, resources, and logistics poured into this charade could have gone into food supplies, temporary shelters, medical aid, school support, and trauma counselling for grieving families. Instead, we chose optics over empathy.
Look elsewhere: When President Ramaphosa visited Mthatha after the floods in South Africa, there were no drums. No staged crowds. No rented cheers. Just presence, silence, and action. When Prime Minister Modi went to the site of a crash, no one lined up to welcome him. He came, he mourned, he acted. That is what leadership looks like in moments of pain.
We must ask ourselves: What kind of people have we become?
Enough of this culture of impunity. We are not at war yet our nation is bleeding, and we are clapping. It is not only insensitive, it is dangerous.
Let us not forget: These were human beings, children, mothers, fathers whose blood cries out for justice.
When very sad incidents like this turns to campaign or festival, our Nation Losing Its Soul.

PRESIDENT TINUBU DIRECTS SECURITY AGENCIES TO ARREST KILLERS IN BENUE, ADVISES GOVERNOR ALIA TO SET UP PEACE COMMITTEE
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, to immediately arrest killer herders who perpetrated the heinous killing of over 100 people in Yelewata community in Benue State.
President Tinubu gave the directive while addressing stakeholders at the Government House, Markudi.
The meeting included the Secretary to the Federal Government, George Akume, Traditional Rulers, and former Governors of the state.
The governors of Kwara, Imo, Kogi, Plateau, Ondo, and Nasarawa also attended the meeting.
President Tinubu called out the Inspector General of Police to know why arrests have not been made.
"How come no one has been arrested for committing this heinous crime in Yelewata. Inspector General of Police, where are the arrests? The criminals must be arrested immediately," President Tinubu said.
He urged the heads of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) to intensify surveillance and gather actionable intelligence to apprehend the perpetrators.
He told the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, of the need for vigilance and collaboration between communities and security forces.
Advising Governor Alia on the importance of stakeholder management for peaceful and progressive governance, the President urged the governor to set up a peace committee in the state that will include former governors of Benue, elders, traditional rulers, federal government officials, and non-indigenes living in the state.
"Let us meet again in Abuja. Let's fashion out a framework for lasting peace. I am ready to invest in that peace. I assure you, we will find peace. We will convert this tragedy into prosperity," he said.
President Tinubu urged Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State to allocate land for ranching and directed the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security to follow up.
He called for blood donations to support the injured receiving treatment at the Benue State Teaching Hospital, where he had earlier visited victims and medical staff.
While underscoring the importance of peace for sustainable development, President Tinubu implored the Governor to ensure Benue is peaceful, adding that the circumstances of his visit this time should not have been a reason to visit.
"I wanted to come here to commission projects, to reassure you of hope and prosperity, not to see gloomy faces. But peace is vital to development," he said.
"The value of human life is greater than that of a cow. We were elected to govern, not to bury people", he stressed.
He charged Governor Alia with working with the federal government to restore peace.
"Governor Alia, you were elected under the progressive banner to ensure peace, stability, and progress. You are not elected to bury people or comfort widows and orphans. We will work with you to achieve that peace. You must also work with us.
"Not everyone will like you in politics. They hate me, too—like hell. But here I am, still your President. I made a promise to protect democracy, freedom, and prosperity, even for my abusers and accusers. That's leadership," the President emphasised.
In his remarks, Governor Hyacinth Alia appealed to the Federal Government to establish a Special Intervention Fund for communities affected by repeated violent attacks across Benue State.
"Your Excellency, while we continue to mourn our losses and rebuild from the ashes of pain, we humbly urge the Federal Government to consider establishing a special intervention fund for communities affected by these incessant attacks in Benue State," he said.
Governor Alia said the fund would support the rehabilitation of displaced persons, reconstruction of destroyed homes and infrastructure, and the restoration of livelihoods, especially for farmers.
He reiterated his support for establishing state police as a lasting solution to insecurity.
The Governor pledged his administration's full commitment to building a safe, stable, prosperous Benue State.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Benue State Traditional Council, Tor Tiv, Orchivirigh Prof. James Ayatse, praised President Tinubu for being the first sitting President to personally visit victims in the hospital in the wake of such a tragedy.
He thanked the President for appointing notable Benue indigenes into key positions, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Professor Joseph Utsev, while expressing hope that more appointments would follow.
On the recurring spate of insecurity in the state, the monarch took time to address misinformation and mischaracterisation, saying that land grabbing is at the core of the decades-long conflict.
"Your Excellency, it is not herder-farmer clashes. It is not communal clashes. It is not reprisal attacks or skirmishes. What we are dealing with here in Benue is a calculated, well-planned, full-scale genocidal invasion and land-grabbing campaign by herder-terrorists and bandits."
He cautioned that mischaracterising the crisis had led to inadequate responses and accused some political actors of exploiting the situation for selfish gain.
"We hear that some politicians would even prefer that the crisis worsens, so it would serve as a basis for declaring a state of emergency. This is unfortunate. Any politician who prays for more people to die for such a project is working against the wishes of the people of Benue State," he said.
He therefore appealed to President Tinubu to restore peace to the state and every part of Nigeria.
"All we ask of you, sir, is to stop our weeping. Give us peace in Benue State, so our people, primarily farmers, can return to their farms and continue to produce food for Nigeria.
"I heard a story about a challenge in a place in Kwara State, and you rose and gave them peace in Kaiama. You can do that for Benue."

Peter Obi thanks Tinubu for deciding to visit scenes of Benue massacre
Peter Obi and President Bola Tinubu.
By Bayo Wahab
Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has reacted to President Bola Tinubu’s decision to visit Benue State on Wednesday following the gruesome killings of over 200 people last weekend.
While commissioning The Greater Abuja Water Supply Network on Monday, the President sympathised with the government and the people of Benue State.
According to a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President has already rescheduled his official visit to Kaduna State to assess firsthand the recurring crises that claimed numerous lives and caused significant destruction in Benue.
Reacting to the development in a statement, Obi, who had earlier criticised Tinubu’s leadership style, said it was refreshing for Nigerians to learn that the President has “finally decided to visit the scene of the brutal killings in Benue State.”
While thanking the President for his decision, Obi asked him also to visit Niger State, where floods claimed many lives.
“It was refreshing news on Monday to a bewildered nation learning that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has finally decided to visit the scene of the brutal killings in Benue State. For this I thank him even as I make further request that similar gesture should be extended to Niger state that lost more number of human lives in a natural disaster, flood recently,” the LP leader said.
The opposition leader maintained that the presence of the President in these ‘devastated and grieving communities’ will be very reassuring and uplifting.
Both Benue and Niger States have lost over 200 lives each due to recent tragedies. In Mokwa alone, more than 200 people were confirmed dead, and over 1,000 are still missing following the floods. These are not just statistics; they are the lives of Nigerian families torn apart and their communities destroyed, Obi stated.
He advised the President to let his visit to Mokwa in Niger State send a strong message that all Nigerian lives matter and that no community, no matter how rural, is forgotten
Obi also urged President Tinubu to step up security across the country, especially in disaster-prone areas

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has gifted brand-new Changan CS55 SUVs to all Local Government Chairmen across the state. The Changan CS55, named Nigeria’s Car of the Year 2024, boasts modern safety features like lane-keeping assist and traffic jam assist.
Sources also confirm that similar vehicles will soon be presented to Local Government Vice Chairmen and other key appointees.
Governor Seyi Makinde’s bold gesture of gifting Changan CS55 SUVs to all Local Government Chairmen has drawn admiration for its symbolism of leadership empowerment and appreciation.
However, keen observers may ask;
Is this strategic empowerment or a subtle reinforcement of political loyalty?
In a state where grassroots development remains crucial, some may wonder how such a high-profile move aligns with the pressing infrastructural needs of rural communities.
Moreover, as expectations of leadership evolve, are we gradually normalizing luxury as a defining symbol of public service?
Still, it cannot be denied that Governor Makinde has consistently raised the bar in responsive governance, his proactive style and people-centered policies continue to set him apart as one of Nigeria’s most visionary leaders.

“Peter Obi Should Forget Presidency And Settle for Minister of Economy, Igbos Not Ready for Presidency” —Sen. Ned Nwoko

Peter Obi, Others Escape Plane Crash
The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi was indeed on an Air Peace flight (P47123) that experienced significant turbulence and a "terrifying landing experience" at Murtala Mohammed International Airport (Local Wing) in Lagos on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses and passengers, including reports from Quora (Nigerian) and IROHIN ODUA, the flight from Abuja to Lagos encountered heavy turbulence and hovered dangerously for about 30 minutes, making several failed landing attempts before finally touching down. Passengers described it as a "near-death experience." Peter Obi was reportedly calm and encouraged other passengers during the ordeal.
It's important to note that while described as a "near-crash" or "narrow escape," the plane did not actually crash. As of the reports, aviation authorities had not yet released an official statement, and investigations into the cause of the turbulence were said to be ongoing.
There was also a past incident in May 2013 where then-Governor Peter Obi and others escaped a potential air mishap on an Arik Air flight from Lagos to Asaba due to bad weather. However, the more recent and widely reported incident appears to be the one on June 3, 2025.Peter Obi, Others Escape Plane Crash The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi was indeed on an Air Peace flight (P47123) that experienced significant turbulence and a "terrifying landing experience" at Murtala Mohammed International Airport (Local Wing) in Lagos on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Peter Obi Narrowly Escapes Plane crash in Lagos Airport
A major tragedy was narrowly avoided on Tuesday afternoon when an Air Peace flight (P47123) carrying over 100 passengers—including Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi—encountered a terrifying landing experience at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (Local Wing) in Lagos.
According to eyewitness reports, the flight, which departed Abuja at 12:59 PM (24 minutes behind schedule), ran into heavy turbulence while attempting to land in Lagos. Originally scheduled to touch down at 1:55 PM, the plane only managed to land at 2:25 PM after a frightening 30-minute ordeal in the air.
Passengers on board described the moment as “a near-death experience.” The plane reportedly struggled to stabilize and hovered dangerously above residential areas, forcing the pilot to make several failed attempts before finally landing.
"It was scary. The aircraft was going up and down like it had lost control. People were praying, crying, some even casting out demons," said one passenger.
Peter Obi, who was flying in economy class, was praised by many passengers for his calmness during the chaos. “He kept encouraging us to stay calm and have faith. It was comforting to see him composed even in the middle of fear,” another passenger shared.
In the first-class section, businessman Dr. Benson Onuwaje reportedly stood up to pray for the safety of everyone onboard. “He encouraged people to trust God. His words gave many of us hope,” said another survivor, Mathew Adekunle.
This incident has reignited concerns about aviation safety in Nigeria. Some passengers expressed fears that if the plane had crashed with a figure like Peter Obi on board, the consequences would have been grave for the nation.
Peter Obi had just concluded a visit to flood-affected communities in Northern Nigeria, where he donated N20 million in support. He returned to Abuja for a political engagement before flying to Lagos, where the incident occurred.
"We thank God for saving us," a relieved passenger said. "It could have been a different story today. But God protected us—including Peter Obi.”

The most intelligent family in England and certainly in the world, is African and originally from Nigeria. They are in the Guinness Book of Records as the most intelligent family in England.
In the Imafidon family, there are twins Peter and Paula, who obtained the equivalent of high school at the age of 9 and became the youngest to attend the University of Cambridge, where they broke the record for mathematics at this university.
In addition, both are national champions in sports disciplines. The funny thing is that this record was brought before them by their older sister Cristina Imafidon, who had obtained high school at the age of 11 and at 14 was pursuing a masters degree in mathematics and statistics.
But this is not all, there is also sister Samantha Imafidon who was in 3rd grade at 8 years old. And who is the UK national 100m champion? LEST WE FORGET – WHAT NDIGBO DID FOR AWOLOWO AT HIS DARKEST POLITICAL PERIOD.
THOSE WHO, OUT OF SHEAR HATRED REWRITE HISTORY SHOULD DO WELL TO REMEMBER:
When Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola and Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, conspired to politically annihilate Chief Obafemi Awolowo, it was Dr. Michael Iheonukara Okpara, Premier of Eastern Nigeria, who boldly stood on the side of justice and principle.
As Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka records in his memoir, “You Must Set Forth at Dawn”, Dr. Okpara did not just sympathize - he acted. He provided financial and political support to Awolowo’s camp, reabsorbed Prof. Sam Aluko and other loyalists dismissed from the University of Ife into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and sent Mazi Ukonu and the Eastern Nigeria Broadcasting Service to broadcast the authentic results of the Western Region election from Awolowo’s Ibadan residence, directly challenging the state-sponsored electoral fraud.
In an extraordinary gesture of solidarity, Okpara appointed Mrs. Hannah Awolowo, the wife of the imprisoned leader, as Honorary Minister in the Eastern Nigerian Government - equipping her with a Mercedes Benz, chauffeur, and full ministerial privileges. This was not just symbolic - it was an open declaration of interregional support and respect.
Equally important was the role of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe (Zik), then President of Nigeria. When Northern leaders sought to transfer Awolowo to a remote prison in the North—where his safety would be uncertain - Zik exercised his presidential authority to ensure that Awolowo was instead sent to prison in Eastern Nigeria, where he was treated with dignity and humanity, against the wishes of the Sardauna and Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa.
This interethnic solidarity was not accidental. It formed part of the broader United Progressive Grand Alliance (UPGA) — a coalition of progressive forces led by the NCNC and the Action Group, which resisted Northern domination and championed democratic ideals.
During this alliance, Dr. Okpara courageously entered Ibadan - despite being declared persona non grata by Akintola - to campaign for the Awolowo faction. His reception by the people was so electrifying and defiant of Northern hegemony that he was affectionately nicknamed “M.I. Power” by the Western Press.
These actions by Eastern leaders — Dr. Okpara, Dr. Azikiwe, and others - represent one of the noblest chapters in Nigerian political history: a moment when ethnicity bowed to justice, and regional differences were set aside in pursuit of a united democratic front.
It is essential that these truths be remembered - not distorted or forgotten. Let no one, out of ignorance or bigotry, erase the fact that it was the East - it was the Igbos - who stood with Awolowo when others sought to silence him.
Let us teach correct and verifiable history as it happened, not as some would like it rewritten.

GOV AIYEDATIWA HAILS JUDICIARY AS TRIBUNAL AFFIRMS 2024 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION
- PDP's petition, others unanimously dismissed for lack of merit
- Gov invites opposition to join hands with him to move Ondo State forward
The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has described as a welcome development the judgement of the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which affirmed his election as Governor on Wednesday.
The tribunal while dismissing the petitions filed by some parties, upheld the election of Governor Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), affirming his victory in the November 16, 2024 governorship poll.
The three-member tribunal, chaired by Justice Benson Ogbu, delivered a unanimous judgment, dismissing the petitions filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, and other political parties. The tribunal held that the allegations of widespread irregularities and non-compliance with the Electoral Act were not substantiated.
Speaking to journalists after the verdict, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed gratitude to God and the people of Ondo State, adding that the tribunal’s judgment has reaffirmed the will of the people.
“I give thanks to Almighty God who orchestrated this journey from the beginning and used the good people of Ondo State. Over 366,000 residents gave us their mandate on November 16 last year to continue governing this state as the seventh democratically elected governor.
“That mandate has now been validated by the tribunal. While some political parties tried to overturn the people’s decision through the backdoor, the judiciary has fulfilled its role by upholding the choice made by the majority of voters across the 18 local government areas of the state,” he said.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also appreciated his deputy, party members, and the APC leadership for their support.
When asked if he would extend a hand of fellowship to the opposition, the Governor said his doors have always been open.
“From the very day I was declared winner, I called on the opposition to join us in developing Ondo State. If they truly have the interest of the state at heart, they are welcome to bring their ideas forward so we can work together for the progress of our dear state,” he said.
The Governor later led a crowd of supporters on a jubilation rally from the State High Court, venue of the tribunal’s sitting, to his campaign secretariat along Oyemekun road in Akure.
