  • Toke Makinwa Receives Marriage Proposals After Sharing Openness to Becoming a Second Wife

Popular Nigerian media personality and fashion influencer, Toke Makinwa, has revealed that she’s already receiving marriage proposals just hours after opening up about her willingness to remarry—even if it means becoming a second, third, or fourth wife.

During a recent podcast appearance, Toke candidly admitted she’s now open to the idea of joining a polygamous union.
“Honestly, at this stage in my life, if the chance to be a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife comes, I’d take it,” she shared.

She went on to explain that being in control all the time can be exhausting:
“I’m always the boss—it gets tiring. Sometimes, you just want someone else to take charge, even with little things like deciding what’s for dinner.”

Shortly after the episode went viral, Toke posted a screenshot of her inbox on social media, showing that several suitors had already reached out. One email boldly asked:
“GOAL: Can we get married?”—from a senior data analyst based in Ibadan.

Her revelation sparked a buzz online, with social media users reacting with mixed emotions—some amused by the quick responses and others debating her comments on polygamy.

Here are some reactions from users:

@dearolaa: “They said no one wants to marry her, but clearly, she’s just not settling. She wants a rich man, even if she’s the 5th wife.”
@Dnpassion: “They just want a bite of the national cake.”

  • IF YOU DON'T FEEL IT, IT ISN'T LOVE

Real love isn’t just about saying “I love you”; it’s about proving it through consistent actions. It’s found in the little, everyday gestures-checking in to see how your partner is doing, offering support without being asked, remembering the small details that matter most. It’s in the effort to understand, in the willingness to listen, and in the patience to stand by someone even when times get tough.

True love doesn’t waver when faced with challenges; instead, it deepens, showing its strength through commitment and unwavering presence. Words can be spoken without meaning, but actions never lie. Love is in the way someone prioritizes you, the sacrifices they make, and the effort they put into making you feel valued.

Love isn’t just a feeling-it’s a choice, made every day, to show up, to care, and to stay.

  • Afternoon Story: The Golden Test of Love

In a small, thriving village by the river, there lived a young hunter named Chidi and the beautiful, graceful Adanna. Their love was pure, but Adanna’s father, the village chief, believed only a man of great strength, wisdom, and perseverance deserved his daughter’s hand.

To test Chidi’s love, the chief set a near-impossible task: he must catch the legendary golden fish that swam in the deepest part of the river— a creature that no man had ever laid hands on. Many young men had tried and failed, some even vanishing into the waters. But Chidi’s love for Adanna was greater than his fear.

For days, he studied the river, learning its rhythms, understanding its secrets. He crafted a special net from the strongest vines and waded into the water with patience and determination. On the seventh day, as the first light of dawn kissed the river’s surface, Chidi’s net caught a golden shimmer. He had done the impossible.

Returning to the village, Chidi presented the golden fish to the chief. The elders marveled at his courage, and the chief, deeply moved, blessed the union of Chidi and Adanna. Their love became a story passed down through generations—a tale of patience, resilience, and devotion.

    Moral Lesson:
True love is not just about words but about actions, perseverance, and the willingness to overcome obstacles. When love is tested, only those who are patient and steadfast will conquer. Great things come to those who do not give up.

  • FOOLISH HABITS OF A BABY WIFE....

    1. GOING TO SLEEP IN KIDS' OR SPARE BEDROOM OR SITTING ROOM WHEN THEY HAVE A MISUNDERSTANDING :

This is a sign of avoidance and unwillingness to resolve conflicts. A mature partner would stay and work through the issue, rather than running away from it. It's being childish.

    2. TELLING HER HUSBAND AS NOT MAN ENOUGH:

This is a form of emotional abuse and undermines the partner's self-esteem. A mature partner would communicate constructively about issues without personal attacks. Very few men can survive this injury.

    3. "THERE ARE MANY MEN OUT THERE WHO CAN MARRY ME WHEN I LEAVE THIS MARRIAGE":

This is a threat and a form of emotional blackmail. A mature partner would address problems in the relationship directly and work towards a solution.

    4. BEING QUICK TO GET angryY ABOUT EVERYTHING:

Excessive anger and overreaction to minor issues is a sign of immaturity. A mature partner would respond with more patience and understanding.

    5. CAN'T JUST FORGIVE, KEEPS HURTS IN HIS OR HER HEART:

Holding onto grudges and resentment is a barrier to healthy conflict resolution. A mature partner would be able to forgive and move forward.

    6. ALWAYS BEING RIGHT , UNABLE TO ADMIT BEING WRONG :

Lack of humility and unwillingness to compromise is a sign of immaturity. A mature partner would be open to different perspectives and willing to acknowledge their own mistakes.

    7. LOVING PARENTS AND SIBLINGS MORE THAN SPOUSE:

This indicates a lack of emotional investment in the marriage and a failure to prioritize the spousal relationship.

    8. FEELING ENTITLED TO EVERYTHING:

A sense of entitlement and unrealistic expectations is a sign of immaturity. A mature partner would have a more balanced view of the give and take in a relationship.

    9. FIGHTING SPOUSE'S FAMILY DIRTY:

Engaging in petty conflicts and disrespecting the spouse's family is a sign of immaturity. A mature partner would strive to maintain positive relationships with in-laws.

    10. ISSUING THREATS OF DIVORCE , SEPARATION, OR VIOLENCE:

These are manipulative and abusive tactics that have no place in a healthy, mature relationship.

    11. THINKING THEY ARE TOO IMPORTANT IN THE LIFE OF THEIR SPOUSES:

This indicates a lack of understanding of the importance of mutual respect and independence in a marriage.

    12. BRAGGING ABOUT WHAT SHE IS DOING TO SUPPORT THE HUSBAND:

This suggests a need for external validation and a lack of genuine concern for the partner's well-being.

    13. GETTING MUTE ON THE HUSBAND JUST BECAUSE HIM LOOKED AT ANOTHER WOMAN AT THE MALL

If she caught her husband looking at a woman and appreciating her looks when they were together at a shopping mall, she stops talking to her husband for months, stops cooking his favorite meal and can't even sleep on the same bed with him.

    14. DARING HER HUSBAND TO GET ANOTHER WOMAN AS IF SHE DOESN'T CARE.

Daring a man to get another woman is not only childish but dangerous, because not every husband is a believer.

    15. RESENTING KIDS BECAUSE HUBBY HID THEM FROM HER

When she discovers that her husband hid the fact that he had a child/children before meeting her, she immediately resents those kids.

    MARRIAGE IS NOT CHILD'S PLAY.

  • THE LATE PRESIDENT OF UGANDA, Idi Amin wanted to change the name of Uganda to Idi. Everybody in his Cabinet agreed because they were afraid of him. But there was one man, Malyamungu. He said to Idi Amin, "Your excellency do you know a country called Cyprus?" Idi Amin said to him,"What does Cyprus have to do with the changing of Uganda to Idi?"

Malyamungu replied, the citizens of Cyprus are called Cypriots. If we change the name of Uganda to Idi, we, the Ugandans shall be called Idiots" and the world will call us idiots, which we are not.

Idi Amin looked at him and said "You and I are the most intelligent men in this cabinet. The name of the country shall remain Uganda and so it remained to this day.

He was a lone voice yet it stopped the madness of the most despotic dictator that Africa has ever produced. The silence of good people makes evil to prevail.

    MORAL LESSONS

    1. THE POWER OF COURAGEOUS TRUTH : Malyamungu demonstrated that speaking up against wrongdoing, even in the face of danger, can prevent disastrous decisions. Silence in the presence of injustice allows it to flourish.

    2. WISDOM OVER FEAR: While others in the cabinet agreed out of fear, Malyamungu used wisdom and reasoning to counter Idi Amin’s idea. Intelligence, when used wisely, can challenge tyranny.

    3. ONE VOICE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE : Even when surrounded by silence, one bold individual can change the course of events. It only takes one person to challenge a bad idea and steer things in the right direction.

    4. DICTATORSHIP THRIVES ON SILENCE: Evil prevails when good people refuse to act. The willingness to challenge authority when necessary is essential in preventing the abuse of power.

    5. LEADERS NEED HONEST ADVISERS: A leader surrounded by fearful and sycophantic followers will make poor decisions. Good leadership requires advisers who are willing to speak the truth, no matter how uncomfortable.

    6. NAMES AND IDENTITY MATTER: The story also emphasizes how names shape identity.
HAVE YOU EVER ASKED YOURSELF THE MEANING OF NIGERIA?

  • *Fight For Your Dream.*

Don’t let others distract you from God’s Assignment for your life. Avoid over-scheduling today to accommodate the expectations of others. Don’t feel obligated to relationships that demotivate you. Every worshipper must become a warrior. Every warrior must become a worshipper. The willingness to battle for your dream...qualifies you for its achievement.

  • MID DAY- SPICE

WHAT LOVE LOOKING LIKE VS. WHAT IT TRUELY IS.

I’ve learned that love is often misunderstood. Sometimes, we think it’s all about physical intimacy, constant phone calls, or receiving gifts and attention. Those things can feel nice, but they aren’t the true essence of love.

For me, love is about respect — genuinely valuing each other's opinions and feelings. It’s about forgiveness, even when it’s not easy, and building trust that brings peace of mind. Love asks for sacrifice, the kind where I’m willing to put someone else's happiness before my own without regret.

Commitment keeps love strong, even when things get tough. I’ve realized love is also about mutual support, standing by each other and helping one another grow. Communication, honest and open, strengthens that bond, and shared goals give love a sense of purpose.

Even in marriage, love should be a journey of constant growth. It’s not about perfection but choosing each other daily despite imperfections. It should be filled with respect, friendship, teamwork, and the willingness to weather life’s storms together. True love in marriage means nurturing trust, fostering deep connection, and always seeking to bring out the best in one another.
