I Gave My Father 100 Million, Bought Him a House & He Sold It - Asake Responds to Father's Call Out
Nigerian Afrobeats star Ololade “Asake” Ahmed has set the record straight after his father publicly accused him of neglect. But rather than a press statement, Asake did what he does best by responding through music.
The controversy erupted when Asake’s father took to social media, claiming the singer had abandoned him. In a heartfelt plea, he said, “The last time I saw him was when I fell sick in March 2022. If I call, he won’t pick. Please help me, it’s your help I need.”
With rumors swirling, Asake took to TikTok, delivering a freestyle that addressed the claims head-on.
"I gave this man 100 million, bought him a house, and he sold it. This man spends like a young boy, even carries OS," he rapped, suggesting reckless spending was at the heart of their fallout.
But the singer didn’t stop there. He hinted at emotional manipulation, making it clear he’s had enough. "My people, can you see? My father too wants to cajole me. I used to give him money, and I did it freely."
Despite the drama, Asake remains focused on his journey, with faith as his guide. “You can’t please the world. Do whatever you do for God, and always remember that one day, you’ll go and meet your God.”
The revelation has sparked heated debates online. Some fans are calling for reconciliation, while others insist that family ties should never be exploited. One certain thing is that Asake is letting his music do the talking.

Reckless, Heinous Lie’ – Akpabio Petitions Police Over Assassination Plot, Wants Natasha Prosecuted
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, requesting an investigation into an alleged assassination plot against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Naija News reports that the petition, dated April 3, 2025, comes after Akpoti-Uduaghan’s public outburst on April 1, 2025, in which she accused Akpabio of instructing former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello to assassinate her in Kogi State. She claimed that the plot was designed to make it appear as though her constituents were responsible for her death.
In his petition, Akpabio vehemently denied the accusation, calling it a “heinous lie” and a “reckless and deliberate attempt” to tarnish his reputation. He demanded the prosecution of Akpoti-Uduaghan for criminal defamation.
The Senate President characterized the allegation as politically motivated, accusing Akpoti-Uduaghan of attempting to incite political unrest and damage his public image. He also emphasized that the accusation was made without any supporting evidence.
Akpabio further highlighted the harmful impact of the false allegation, noting its widespread coverage across various media platforms, including radio, television, and social media. He urged law enforcement to treat the matter with the seriousness it warrants.
“I write to formally bring to your attention and seek immediate investigation and prosecution of a criminally defamatory and malicious statement made against me by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a suspended member of the Nigerian Senate on the 1st of April, 2025 and which was widely publicised on radio stations, televisions and newspapers, including the social media,” Akpabio stated in his petition.
He continued, “In the public outburst at Kogi State while addressing her audience, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan falsely alleged that I instructed the former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to ‘assassinate her in Kogi State instead of Abuja’ with the intent of making it appear that her constituents were responsible for her death.”
Akpabio categorically rejected the accusation, calling it “a reckless and deliberate attempt to damage my reputation, endanger my life and security, and incite political unrest.”
He also expressed concern over the political motives behind the false claims. “Her motive was clear, which was to incite the public, manipulate sentiments, and malign my person and office in the eyes of the Nigerian people and the international community,” he added.
Akpabio concluded his petition by calling for the “immediate investigation into the false and inciting allegation” and the prosecution of Akpoti-Uduaghan under relevant laws for criminal defamation, false accusation, incitement, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.Reckless, Heinous Lie’ – Akpabio Petitions Police Over Assassination Plot, Wants Natasha Prosecuted Senate President Godswill Akpabio has formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, requesting an investigation into an alleged assassination plot against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. Rabiu Kwankwaso: When Nasir El-Rufai comes here, ask him these three questions- Buba Galadima
the broader principle of rewarding those who contribute significantly to a party's success.
When the interviewer brought up the speculation that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso might consider defecting from the NNPP to join Nasir El-Rufai in the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Galadima swiftly dismissed the idea. He affirmed that Governor Yusuf remains fully committed to the NNPP and has no intentions of leaving. His exact words were:
"Abba Kabir Yusuf is a bonafide member of the NNPP as I speak to you, and he would remain so."
Galadima then went further by suggesting that when El-Rufai is invited for an interview, he should not be allowed to make vague generalizations. Instead, he said the former governor must be asked very specific questions that will shed light on what really happened behind the scenes in 2015. According to Galadima, these four questions are essential for clarity and accountability.
"When El-Rufai comes here, ask him these four questions; One, did Kwankwaso ever had a candidate in 2015 in Kaduna State. Two, did Kwankwaso make any contribution...force him to tell you; to his (El-Rufai) candidature in Kaduna State that made him (El-Rufai) governor."
These two questions, Galadima insists, are critical in understanding whether El-Rufai received substantial support from Kwankwaso during his gubernatorial campaign. The third question, however, touches more on the national level, focusing on the contribution Kwankwaso made to the Buhari campaign in the North.
Galadima continued:
"Three, ask him that when Kwankwaso brought 1.9 million votes to Buhari, ask him whether their government, which him El-Rufai was part of the government, whether they ever gave him (Kwankwaso) one messenger slot in Buhari's government for eight years, after bringing 2 million votes.

Chinese battery manufacturer Betavolt has unveiled the BV100, a coin-sized nuclear battery powered by a radioactive nickel-63 isotope, capable of lasting 50 years without charging or maintenance.
The battery leverages China's fourth-generation diamond semiconductor technology to efficiently convert radioactive decay into electricity, offering an energy density over ten times that of lithium batteries.
While the current output is 100 microwatts at 3 volts, Betavolt plans a more powerful one-watt version for drones and consumer electronics, fueling a global race in nuclear battery innovation.Chinese battery manufacturer Betavolt has unveiled the BV100, a coin-sized nuclear battery powered by a radioactive nickel-63 isotope, capable of lasting 50 years without charging or maintenance. Buba Galadima Exposes Plot To Impose Emergency Rule In Northern State Without Tinubu’s Approval
A prominent member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has claimed that there was a plot by certain individuals to destabilize Kano State and push the federal government into declaring a state of emergency in the state.
Speaking on Jigsaw, a political program aired on AIT on Tuesday, Galadima alleged that those behind the plot were doing so without the knowledge of President Bola Tinubu.
“On the Kano situation, because unknown to him, and I can beat my chest that he didn’t know, Tinubu didn’t know what happened, what was arranged,” he said.
Galadima further claimed that the scheme involved setting up both the Kano state government and the Emir to create a situation that would justify the declaration of a state of emergency.
“There was a grand design to set up the Kano state government, including the Emir, such that they could declare a state of emergency,” he added.
He also mentioned that the plan included a high-level meeting in Abuja and the intentional absence of a key individual, who was being positioned to become the Emir of Kano.
“There was a meeting in a senior official of government’s house in this Abuja, and the man that was supposed to be appointed Emir was sent to Umrah, and as I speak to you now, he is in Saudi Arabia,” Galadima said.
According to him, the plot was for the Emir to be detained in Abuja upon his arrival, with the military on standby to declare the throne vacant.
“Their thinking is that once the Emir is invited today, he will be detained in Abuja. Once he’s detained, the military will be put on alert and the throne will be declared vacant,” he alleged.
When asked to name the individual in question, Galadima declined to do so. “No, I don’t want to mention names. Go and find out who is in Saudi Arabia out of the princes in Kano. Everybody in Nigeria knows what is happening,” he responded.
This revelation came shortly after Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), withdrew an invitation to Muhammadu Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, to appear at the police force headquarters in Abuja. The police had earlier invited Sanusi for questioning over alleged killings during the recent Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
