• SATIRICAL APOLOGY LETTER

From the Desk of Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan

Dear Distinguished Senate President Godswill Akpabio,

It is with the deepest sarcasm and utmost theatrical regret that I tender this apology for the grievous crime of possessing dignity and self-respect in your most exalted presence. I have reflected extensively on my unforgivable failure to recognize that legislative success in certain quarters is apparently not earned through merit, but through the ancient art of compliance — of the very personal kind.

How remiss of me not to understand that my refusal to indulge your… “requests” was not merely a personal choice, but a constitutional violation of the unwritten laws of certain men’s entitlement. Truly, I must apologize for prioritizing competence over capitulation, vision over vanity, and the people’s mandate over private dinners behind closed doors.

I now realize the catastrophic consequences of my actions: legislation delayed, tempers flared, and the tragic bruising of egos so large they require their own postcodes. For this disruption to the natural order of “quid pro quo,” I bow my head in fictional shame.

Please find it in your magnanimous heart — somewhere buried deep beneath layers of entitlement — to forgive this stubborn woman who mistakenly believed that her seat in the Senate was earned through elections, not erections.

    I remain,
    Yours in eternal resistance,
    Senator Natasha H Akpoti Uduaghan
    Unafraid, Unbought, and Unbroken

  • When Esther turned 30, the whispers started.
    "You're too picky."
"You should settle. Good men are rare."

She smiled politely at every comment. But inside, the clock ticked louder than church bells on a Sunday morning.

    Then came Samuel.
    Everything about him seemed perfect.
Steady job. Strong faith. Gentle voice.
He said all the right things and prayed all the right prayers.

And so, when he proposed after six months, her family danced like David.
It felt like a testimony in the making.

But one night, three weeks to the wedding, Esther couldn't sleep.
A quiet unease pressed against her spirit.
    Not fear. Not cold feet.
    Something deeper.

    She prayed. Fasted.
Cried. Asked God for a sign.
"Father, if this isn't from You... stop it, even if it breaks my heart."

The next day, Samuel's secrets surfaced.

    A hidden child.
    A court case.
A mountain of debt he never mentioned.

Esther sat on the church steps that evening, wedding dress already paid for, guests already invited.

    Tears soaked her hands.
But peace covered her like a soft blanket.

    She cancelled the wedding.
    Faced shame.
    Endured the mocking whispers.
    Healed... slowly.

Two years later, at a Christian conference, she met another man.
    Not flashy. Not perfect.
    But honest. Transparent.
And kind in ways Samuel never was.

    This time, she wasn't desperate.
    She wasn't rushing.

    She was ready.

They married under the open sky with nothing but 70 guests and the sweet sound of answered prayers.

Today, Esther often smiles when people say,
    "You're lucky you waited."

    But she knows —
    She didn’t just wait.
    She trusted.
    She obeyed.
She believed that broken plans are sometimes the biggest blessings.

"She almost married the wrong man — because she didn’t want to wait anymore.
But when she chose obedience over pressure, God rewrote her story more beautifully than she ever imagined.
Sometimes, the heartbreak is the blessing.
Sometimes, 'no' is the real miracle."

"Obedience to God may cost you temporary happiness, but it will save you from permanent heartbreak."

Thank you for reading "The Girl Who Stopped Waiting." Written by Judith Ogechi Chukwuma

  • **Why Men Need Self-Care (Before You Turn Into a Walking Plantain Chip)**
    1. **Stress is Real** – Between work, traffic, and Nigeria’s economy, your stress levels are higher than fuel prices. Self-care keeps you from snapping like a poorly charged phone.
    2. **You’re Not Indestructible** – That "strong man" mentality? Cool, but even Superman took breaks (and he’s fictional!).
    3. **Confidence Boost** – When you look good, you feel good. And no, "looking good" doesn’t mean just ironing your clothes… Smelling nice , shaving your hair and beards etc
hope you get the drift now.  🤷🏻‍♀️

  • France could recognise Palestinian state 'in June' — Macron
    https://jordantimes.com/news/world/france-could-recognise-palestinian-state-june-%E2%80%94-macron

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->PARIS — France plans to recognise a Palestinian state within months and could make the move at a UN conference in New York in June on settling the Israel-Palestinian conflict, President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview broadcast Wednesday.
"We must move towards recognition, and we will do so in the coming months," Macron, who this week visited Egypt, told France 5 television.
"Our aim is to chair this conference with Saudi Arabia in June, where we could finalise this movement of mutual recognition by several parties," he added.
"I will do it because I believe that at some point it will be right and because I also want to participate in a collective dynamic, which must also allow all those who defend Palestine to recognise Israel in turn, which many of them do not do," he added.
Such recognition would allow France "to be clear in our fight against those who deny Israel's right to exist -- which is the case with Iran -- and to commit ourselves to collective security in the region," he added.
France has long championed a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict, including after the October 7, 2023 attack by Palestinian militants Hamas on Israel.
But formal recognition by Paris of a Palestinian state would mark a major policy switch and risk antagonising Israel which insists such moves by foreign states are premature.
Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar denounced French President Emmanuel Macron's announcement that Paris could recognise a Palestinian state by June, saying it would be a "prize" for terrorism.
"A unilateral recognition of a fictional Palestinian state, by any country, in the reality that we all know, will be a prize for terror and a boost for Hamas," Saar said on X late on Wednesday.
"These kind of actions will not bring peace, security and stability in our region closer -- but the opposite: they only push them further away."
Nearly 150 countries recognise a Palestinian state. In May 2024, Ireland, Norway and Spain announced recognition, followed by Slovenia in June, moves partly fuelled by condemnation of Israel's bombing of Gaza that followed the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel.
'No one will invest a cent'
France's recognition of Palestinian statehood "would be a step in the right direction in line with safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people and the two state solution," Palestinian minister of state for foreign affairs Varsen Aghabekian Shahintold AFP.

But France would be the most significant European power to recognise a Palestinian state, a move the United States has also long resisted.
In Egypt, Macron held summit talks with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordan's King Abdullah II and also made clear he was strongly opposed to any displacement or annexation in Gaza and the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
US President Donald Trump has suggested turning Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East" with the Palestinians moving elsewhere -- a suggestion that has sparked bitter condemnation.
Macron responded that the Gaza Strip was "not a real estate project."
"Simplistic thinking sometimes doesn't help," he added, and, in a message to Trump said: "Perhaps it would be wonderful if one day it developed in an extraordinary way, but our responsibility is to save lives, restore peace, and negotiate a political framework."
"If all this doesn't exist, no one will invest. Today, no one will invest a cent in Gaza," he said.

    1. Turn ChatGPT into a Cash Machine by Eric Mallon. Summary: This book gives seven simple but provably workable ways to make passive income from AI.

    2. How to Get Rich Before 30 by A. B. Stanley. Summary: Mr. Stanley teaches how to have a wealth mindset, which opens your eyes to investable opportunities people miss due to a poverty mindset. Although the book is targeted at young adults, the insights are applicable to almost all age categories.

    4. The 80/20 Principle: Achieve More with Less, by Richard Koch. Summary: This is a time management book, which helps you put first things first, and by utilising your time and resources more effectively, Mr. Koch enables you to increase your productivity.

    5. Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki. Summary: This book teaches you to differentiate between tangible assets and liabilities that you think are assets. It also teaches practical ways to get cash flow. Mr. Kiyosaki also addresses wrong assumptions that lower income earners teach their offspring about wealth.

    6. The Algebra of Wealth: A Simple Formula for Success, by Scott Galloway. Summary: There is no better book to read in 2025 if your focus is to learn the cold, hard facts of how to profit from the financial markets with as little capital as possible.

    7. Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth, By T Harv Eker. 10. The Psychology of Money: Timeless Lessons on Wealth, Greed, and Happiness, by Morgan Housel. Summary: Mr. Housel uses short stories to change the reader's perceptions about money.

In 2025, focus on acquiring assets rather than showcasing your flashy lifestyle. Don’t buy and flash the latest Land Rover when you are not a landlord. Don’t flaunt flying in first class when you don’t even have your first business. Use your old iPhone so you can buy new stocks. Assets will give you access and help you assess better places and faces.
