    DATE: SUNDAY, 6TH JULY 2025

*TOPIC: QUALITY CHARACTER – A LADDER TO AUTHORITY.*

SCRIPTURE: Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her. ESTHER 2:15.

*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Character has a higher selling power than connection.*

It has been confirmed that every scriptural provision is targeted at human profit. Whatever God says is because of what man will gain. God majorly does not say things for His own gains. Whatever He says is because of what man stands to gain.

So, if God says we should live in upright character, is there any gain for us? Yes! There are so many gains, but today, we shall be looking at one of the gains of living upright, and that is Authority.

Scripture confirms that upright character catapults people into authority. To possess quality character is to be positioned in authority. Most people who gained authority in scripture, had it at the frequency of quality character, and most people who lost authority in scripture lost it by the absence of character.

Queen Esther was a perfect example of someone who was established in authority by the force of quality character. Esther gained the throne by character. In Esther 2:15, when the king Ahasuerus was looking for a replacement for queen Vashti, all the other virgins who came requested for what they desired, but Esther required nothing (Esther 2:15). That speaks about her character of contentment. That speaks about the absence of vanity; and that also speaks about self-control.
Esther was catapulted into authority by the character of contentment and self-control.

On the other hand, queen Vashti lost the throne at the frequency of character bankruptcy (Esther 1: 10-15). She was full of pride. She was rebellious towards her husband, the king, so she lost her position of authority and Esther took her place.

Anyone who lacks character can never maintain authority. Character sells higher than beauty. Character has a higher market value than beauty. When Abraham’s servant was looking for a wife for Isaac in Genesis 24:10-22, he did not say, “O Lord, as I stand by this well, let the most beautiful girl that I see, be the wife of Isaac.” No! Rather, character was his first requirement for choosing a wife for Isaac.

Character has a higher selling power than connection. Your uncle can give you his business card to present in an organization so you could be given a job, but can he manifest a good character for you? His business card may give you a job, but it is your character that will keep the job.

Beloved, it does not matter where you are in life today, if you have quality character, the sky is your starting point. The opposite is also true; it does not matter where a person is in life today, if character is lacking, a crash is inevitable.

Remember this: Character has a higher selling power than connection.

    ASSIGNMENT(S):
    1. Ask God for the grace to uphold quality character

    2. Examine yourself; what is that bad character that can hinder you from fulfilling destiny? Do away with it.

    3. Consistently spend time with God in order shape your character.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to consistently walk upright. Separate me from every negative tendency that may hinder me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE PRODUCTS OR PROFITS OF CHARACTER – PART 2

    DAILY BIBLE READING: Proverb 25-27

QUOTE: Pride makes a person too arrogant to be instructed. Culled from the book, Deadly Enemies of Destiny by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: Male penguins give female penguins pebbles as a sign of affection during courtship.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Receive the help of the spirit to maintain upright character in Jesus Name.

  • Further clarification for those who have been asking.

Peter Obi has not left Labour Party.
ADC is the party chosen for the 2027 election. In the meantime, there are elections that are coming up like the Anambra gubernatorial election and the by-elections in which candidates are running under Labour. Peter Obi will be campaigning for those candidates.

Kindly note , it would not mean that he is not with the coalition ADC.
ADC is for the 2027 election

Except for us in Abuja that have council elections in February 2026.

I hope this helps in clarifying the questions many are asking.

  • Don’t marry that girl, If the wig she’s wearing is more expensive than the thoughts she carries...

Don’t marry her if her daily obsession is how to appear rich instead of how to become truly valuable.

Because a beautiful face without a beautiful mind will frustrate your future.

The glow will fade, but ignorance will remain and that’s not a battle you want to fight in marriage.

We now live in a generation that mistakes aesthetic for identity.

A girl can spend ₦150,000 on a wig but would never invest ₦15,000 in a course that could sharpen her skills or expand her opportunities.

She can name the brands of luxury perfumes and trending lip glosses, but can’t hold a five-minute conversation on purpose, business, or wisdom.

She will spend hours in front of a mirror but won’t spend 20 minutes with a book.

And somehow… she believes this is what makes her “wife material.”

    No, brother. Don’t be deceived.

Marry a woman who builds herself.

A woman who is as interested in growing her mind as she is in styling her edges.

A woman who can slay a dress, but also slay in business strategy and purpose planning.

One who understands that while beauty may open doors, only value will keep her in the room.

Don’t marry a woman whose greatest goal in life is to trend.

Marry one whose life is intentional. Purposeful. Directional.

A woman who is not waiting for you to complete her life, but preparing herself so that you both complement each other.

The truth is, a woman who refuses to grow her mind will be a burden, not a blessing in marriage.

You’ll spend your life trying to fill the gaps her immaturity creates, emotionally, mentally, and even financially.

“Beauty without intelligence is like a masterpiece painted on a napkin.”

And yes, this isn’t to shame any woman who loves to look good.

    There’s nothing wrong with luxury.

But it becomes dangerous when that’s all there is.

… So my brother, when you finally meet her, make sure that you help her become better.

  • Some family members may not be able to contribute financially on your Big Day (Weddings, Graduations, Funerals, or other gatherings ) but they do not fail to show up with their hands and their hearts.

Don’t overlook the Uncle who doesn’t give money but ensures the Cow and Goats are properly slaughtered.

The Big Aunty who scrubs the pots clean, turns the garri and helps in cooking.

The brother who sets the Canopies and calls his friends to help push your car out of the mud, help in washing it after pulling out.

The sister who wakes up at night to take your child to the bathroom.

Their way of giving may not be through cash, but through love, effort, and presence and that counts just as much.

Never underestimate or look down on someone because their support isn’t financial.

    Love comes in many forms.

Learn to value all of them and above all, learn to respect people.

  • I grew up in Surulere, Lagos, as the fourth child out of eight. Life was very hard. My father lost his job twice, and we had to move to Egbeda to survive. My mother was a school teacher, but that wasn’t enough. She also sold goods just to keep us going.

I used to help her hustle, carry things, run errands, do whatever we could to make ends meet. At 17, I got pregnant and had to leave school. That was one of the hardest moments of my life. I felt pain, shame, and fear, but deep inside, I told myself this cannot be the end of my story.

At 19, I got my first acting role in Most Wanted, and later I starred in Mortal Inheritance, which changed everything. By the early 2000s, I was winning awards, and in 2001, I became the first actress to receive the City People Best Actress award.

In 2018, I directed Lionheart, the first Nigerian film on Netflix. I haven’t forgotten where I came from. I support girls’ education and small businesses, because if a teenage mother from Egbeda can rise, then others can too.

  • 10 Hidden Facts About Dennis Bergkamp, The Magician Who Refused to Fly

He was the kind of player who didn’t just score goals, he painted them. Calm under pressure. Effortless with the ball. And yet, he had one very human flaw: a deep fear of flying.

Here’s a look into the life of one of football’s most elegant and intelligent players.

Named after a Manchester United legend
Dennis was named after Denis Law, his father’s football idol but the Dutch civil registry wouldn’t accept the spelling “Denis,” so he became Dennis. From the start, football was written into his name.

Bergkamp was academically gifted and began studying mechanical engineering before fully committing to football. That same precision showed in how he passed, controlled, and thought through games. Nothing was ever rushed.

Teammates and coaches said Bergkamp could recall full game sequences where players ran, what passes were made, and even minor off-the-ball movement. He didn’t just play the game, he saw it differently.

He started at Ajax, where he was top scorer for four straight seasons. Then came a tough spell at Inter Milan. But it was at Arsenal where he became a legend, helping redefine the club and the Premier League itself.

After a traumatic flight during the 1994 World Cup where someone reportedly joked about a bomb, Bergkamp developed a severe fear of flying. It wasn’t just nervousness; it was full-blown anxiety. He even consulted psychologists, but the fear persisted.

When he signed for Arsenal, the club respected his condition rather than forcing change. Arsène Wenger allowed him to skip long away trips in Europe, meaning he didn’t feature in certain Champions League games abroad. Instead, he would travel by train or private car for matches within England or nearby countries even if it took him days.

Despite missing Champions League away games, Bergkamp remained one of Arsenal’s most consistent players, always ready at Highbury, always delivering magic.

He created space, slowed time, and made those around him better. He once said, “Behind every pass, there must be a thought.” That was his genius, thinking faster than anyone else.

Quarterfinals, 1998 World Cup. A 60-yard pass. One touch to control, one to flick past the defender, one to score. Silence, then awe. Even the commentator yelled “Dennis Bergkamp!” three times in disbelief. It was a masterpiece.

    He lived quietly, played loudly
Unlike many stars, Bergkamp avoided flashy headlines. He was private, humble, and deeply focused on football. After retiring, he coached at Ajax, helping nurture a new generation of talent.

His legacy is carved in silver and memory
He won league titles and cups with Ajax and Arsenal. He lifted the UEFA Cup with Inter. With the Netherlands, he reached the 1998 World Cup semis and two Euro semifinals. He was Dutch Footballer of the Year, PFA Player of the Year, and a key part of Arsenal’s unbeaten Invincibles.

Which of his goals is your favorite the World Cup goal or that Newcastle turn?
