Coalition not a threat to PDP, Makinde declares
.As S/West PDP leaders reaffirm support for party

Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is an institution that cannot be threatened by talks about an emerging coalition, noting that the party remains united and undivided in the South-West geopolitical zone.

The governor said that PDP leaders in the South-West have resolved that as responsible leaders, they would stay in the party and fix whatever challenges arise, adding that the PDP will deal with its issues and come out stronger as the only credible political alternative for Nigerians.

Governor Makinde stated this on Friday, while speaking with newsmen shortly after a meeting of the South-West PDP Caucus, held at the South-West PDP Secretariat named after Hon. Soji Adagunodo.

He said: "We want the whole world to know that the PDP in the South-West is united and we are together and that the coalition is not a threat to the PDP.

“Who are these people in this coalition? They were in some parties before, whether PDP or APC. What are their antecedents? Does it mean that anytime they move from one party to the other, they have repented or they have something new to offer the people? These are salient questions.

"This Soji Adagunodo House is for the PDP South-West. If the roof is leaking, as leaders of PDP in the South-West, are we going to abandon the building and go somewhere else to take refuge? No. We will stay inside here and fix it to let the people know that we are responsible leaders and we have the interest of the people at heart.

"So, a lot of people can say whatever they like, but in a party like the PDP, which is an institution, we have our own ways and means of dealing with such issues. When we get to the point where we have to deal with such issues, I give you the assurance that we will."

Earlier, the meeting which comprised the Osun State governor, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, who was represented by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and other key leaders, issued a communique, stressing that the leadership of the party in the zone distanced itself from the coalition.

Noting that the leaders reaffirmed their loyalty to the PDP and commitment to the unity, stability, progress and success of the party at all levels in the zone and across the country, the communiqué added that the PDP South-West Caucus threw its weight behind the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) that the party would be open to working with other like-minded citizens desirous of rescuing Nigeria from the stranglehold of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It added that the the Caucus commended and appreciated Governors Makinde and Adeleke and other leaders of the PDP in the South-West Zone for their untiring roles in ensuring the stability and growth of the PDP, noting that the “PDP in South-West is intact and urges all organs and relevant bodies of the party to remain focused and continue to work assiduously towards the successful conduct of the scheduled National Convention to further strengthen and reposition the PDP for the task ahead.”

The communiqué read further: “The Caucus resolves to intensify efforts to ensure the victory of our great Party in the upcoming by-elections in Oyo and Ogun States as well as Local Government Council election in Lagos State. The Caucus is confident that the PDP as a party of choice in the South West and Nigeria at large will record sweeping victory in the coming elections.

“The Caucus demands that the Federal Government immediately release the withheld Osun State Local Government allocation. The withholding of the Osun State Local Government allocation by the Federal Government is unconstitutional, unwarranted and a violation of the rights and wellbeing of the people of Osun State.

“The Caucus expresses very serious concern over the worsening insecurity and economic hardship in the country under the APC administration. The Caucus reechoes the declaration of Governor Makinde that the 2027 election will be between Nigerians and the APC, with Nigerians ultimately triumphing under the banner of the PDP.

“The Caucus again commends Governor Makinde and Governor Adeleke for their people-oriented leadership in ensuring peace, stability, security and infrastructural development in the South West Zone.

“The Caucus urges Nigerians not to lose hope but remain resolute and continue to rally with the PDP as our party leads the charge to rescue our nation from the misrule of the APC.”

Leaders in attendance at the meeting also include the PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Amb. Taofeek Arapaja; Dr Eddy Olafeso; Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Dr Saka Balogun; PDP National Vice Chairman (South-West), Barr. A Guarantor is not a Surety and definitely not a Referee

Let’s get this straight.

A lot of people confuse these terms.
Some even think they all mean the same thing.

They don’t.

When you stand as a Guarantor, you are giving the lender a promise that you will pay if the borrower fails to pay after all steps have been taken to recover the debt from the borrower first.

The borrower must first default.

The lender must first exhaust all means to get the borrower to pay.

Only then can they come for you as the guarantor.

But when you stand as a Surety, it’s more serious.

A surety is like saying, “If this person doesn’t pay on the due date, come straight to me. No need to chase them first.”

In other words, as a surety, you’re equally and immediately liable once there’s default.

Now, let’s talk about Referees.

Some people think being a guarantor is the same thing as being a referee.
It’s not.

A referee is simply someone who confirms that the person applying for a job, loan, or apartment is known to them and has good character.
That’s all.

A referee is not taking on any financial responsibility. A referee is not liable to pay any debt.They are just vouching for the person’s behaviour, not their ability to repay loans.

So next time you’re asked to be a guarantor, surety, or referee understand exactly what you’re signing up for.

One carries serious financial risk.

One comes with immediate liability.

The other? Just character reference.

What no one told me about marriage before I enter that I want to tell you.

This is for those planning to marry or those who just got married.
If you are open-minded, you can still read.
Nobody knows it all.

1. Immediately you get married, even before having a baby, go and register your family for health insurance.
NHIS is one of the common ones and the most available in hospitals.
It will save you a lot.
There are some things the rich won’t tell you.
With NHIS, you can walk into any hospital and get treated cheap depending on the package.
A friend of mine once did an operation and all he paid was ₦10k something that would have cost ₦400k.

2. Have a family doctor very very important.
See, no church will tell you this.
Even if you don’t have money for a family doctor, have someone you can call in case of emergency.
Especially a pediatrician when you start having kids.

3. Also, have a family lawyer.
Recently, our family lawyer saved us over ₦500k in rent that I wanted to forfeit.
But because she stepped in and did her job, money was refunded seamlessly.

4. If you can afford it, have at least one domestic staff.
Someone that can at least help ease the work in the house for you and madam.
My brother, ejiro kwa afufu anya isi.
Get help if you can.

5. Buy things in bulk.
The reason I live like a wealthy man today is because I buy everything I need down to toothpaste in bulk.
You spend more buying in bits than when you buy in bulk.
That’s one of the reasons I created my sharing platform to enable family men and women with common goals.
There is nothing we don’t share. Some of you reading this are in that group.

6. Pay your children’s school fees before school resumes.
As I’m talking to you now, I’ve already sent SGM the kids’ school fees that’ll be paid in September.
I don’t have to worry about it again.
It helps me plan myself.
Do everything possible to pay school fees before resumption. You won’t know what you’re doing until money goes on leave from your side.

7. Strive to have passive income.
Something that can generate at least ₦3-5k every day.
No matter what try and get something like that.
It will save you from a lot of stress.

8. See the friends and circle your kids will have tomorrow everything depends on the school they attend.
This one is very, very important.
Even if you don’t have money, find a way to send your children to one of the best schools.
You won’t realise what you’re doing until they come of age.

9.I learnt this one from my dad always have family meetings.
You, your wife, and your kids no matter how small they are.
Discuss problems, solutions, and way forward.
Allow the kids air their opinions.

Ask the kids:
Is there something mummy and daddy are doing that they don’t like?

Same thing with your wife.
Talk about what you both can do to have a stable and loving family.
This helps in uniting the family.

Every month is fine or even every 6 months.
Just make it a habit and a culture.
It’ll become a memory that sticks for the kids, and for you and madam too.

Everyone’s opinion in the family matters.
And as the man, it’s your job to hear everybody’s opinion and choose the best way to run the family.

This isn’t just for the man alone madam can initiate it too. There’s no perfect formula, yes. But this one I listed? It works every time.
I repeat if you try it, you’ll save yourself a lot of unnecessary headache and stress.

The weather is not children friendly at the moment.

1. kindly cover your child(ren) properly, always monitor the weather in order to know which outfit suits the weather.

2. Give them multivitamins (vitamin C is a must)

3. Give them enough fruits, as this is the main source of multivitamins

4. Restrict them from taking cold water as room temperature or warm water is preferable.

5. This is not a good time to share cutleries with their siblings especially the ones with flu

6. Ensure they wear socks or bedroom slippers while at home

7. Don’t forget to put a sweatshirt in their school bags Incase the weather gets cold

8. If they have a terrible cough and cold and you’ve visited the clinic and nothing seem to be working, kindly blend ginger, garlic and lemon together( dont sieve with water) add honey to it and administer 5mls not for children below 18months🙏🏽

9. Ensure they towel cover up their body immediately after bathing

10. Ori (shea butter),body oil or vaseline is best for the weather at the moment

11. Don’t forget to pray for them, pray for good health 🙏🏽

Addendum when you notice flu on a child, kindly cut onion add a slice inside their socks let them wear it to bed.it eases the flu.

This weather is not children friendly at the moment

Some of you are paying more attention to a lesser issue of what Shettima said yesterday but forgot about the key and underlying lesson.

Shettima indirectly told you that the North will always stand for the North.

Good luck. I planned everything as the president to remove Shettima as governor of Borno State.

Guess what? Mohamed Adoke, Jonathan's Minister of Justice and Attorney General from the North, told Goodluck to his face during the FEC that he has no power to remove even a world council, not to talk of a governor.

He sought the opinion of Taminu Turaki, SAN, who was also a minister in his cabinet from the North, and Turaki said, Mr. President, I concur with Adoke.

They sought the opinion of Aminu Tambuwal, the then speaker of the House of Representatives from the North, and he said, Mr. President, you have no constitutional power to remove a governor. That ended Goodluck's attempt to remove Shettima as governor of Borno State.

On the flip side.

When it comes to the South, Rivers State, precisely.

The president from the South came up with the idea of removing a serving governor in Rivers State. Before you say Jack, Akpabio, a senator from the South, hit the gavel in endorsement; Benjamin Kalu, a deputy speaker from the South, led the praise wing of the House of Representatives; and Fubara was removed.

No matter the semantics you want to use. Tinubu removed a governor.

The behavioral differences above are why the North will continue to own Nigerian politics and leadership space.

Man Arrested For K!lling Young Lady In Nsukka Hotel After She Demanded More Money For A Second Round Of S^x

The Enugu State Police Command have arrested the male suspect, Emmanuel Gambo from Kogi state, in connection with the m#rder of one Deborah Sam-Praise Ememem (female, aged 22), who was recently found de@d in a hotel room in Nsukka.

The case, initially reported to Nsukka Urban Police Division, was transferred to the Ho micide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) for thorough investigation.

‘’Findings revealed that on June 14, 2025, at about 9:00 p.m., the suspect, a second-year student of Material and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), checked into a hotel in Obukpa, Nsukka, with the deceased. In the early hours of June 15, 2025, a dis pute ensued after a second round of intercourse, during which the deceased allegedly demanded an additional N15,000 from the suspect, on top of the N5,000 earlier paid. The disagreement turned viol ent, and the suspect stra ngled her to de@th.

The suspect then wrapped the deceased’s body in a towel and a curtain torn from the hotel room and hid it under the bed. On June 16, 2025, at about 9:00 a.m., hotel staff noticed a foul odour coming from the room. Upon investigation, the decomposing body was discovered concealed beneath the bed. The suspect had provided a false name and unreachable phone number on the hotel’s registration form, which initially hindered efforts to trace and arrest him.’’ the statement reads in part

The command mentioned that while acting on credible and painstakingly gathered intelligence, the police detectives located and arrested the suspect at his lodge in Nsukka on July 2, 2025.

‘’During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. The deceased’s iPhone was immediately recovered from him. A bottle of Asconi Agor red wine, which the deceased had brought to the hotel, was also found in his possession. He later led detectives to recover the deceased’s Redmi tablet and earbuds, which he had thrown out through the hotel window in a bag after committing the cri me,’’ the statement further added.
