While I am not a legal expert, it has become apparent that Senator Natasha H. Akpoti's educational background raises questions. There are claims suggesting she either attended night classes or had her schooling at Kogi Central Park, which could imply a non traditional educational path.
Recently, her supporters, including Akpoti herself, were celebrating a federal high court judgment that ruled in her favor, marking a significant victory in her ongoing legal battles. However, following this decision, she filed an appeal for a stay of execution, indicating her intent to challenge any immediate effects of the ruling.
Furthermore, in a related development, Senator Akpoti has taken the federal government to court again regarding the same issue, seeking to clarify and possibly overturn decisions that she believes are unjust.
This series of actions reflects her determination to advocate for her position and highlights the ongoing legal complexities surrounding her case.

— Reaffirm support for President Tinubu
- Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), under the aegis of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), have called on the Federal Government to intensify ongoing economic recovery efforts by expanding investments in key sectors of the economy.
- This call was made on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the conclusion of the Forum’s first regional meeting held in Benin City, Edo State. The meeting also featured the formal welcome of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, to the Forum.
- The governors emphasized the need to further democratize the gains of current economic growth through strategic investments in food security, job creation, poverty alleviation, MSME development, and social safety nets.
- Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, who read the communiqué on behalf of his colleagues, welcomed the increase in fiscal transfers to states and the growing investor confidence in Nigeria’s economic outlook. He pledged that the Forum would sustain this momentum by delivering infrastructure that enhances productivity and drives inter-state competitiveness.
- The Forum also commended Nigeria’s security agencies for their continued efforts in tackling criminality and safeguarding national sovereignty. It extended condolences to families affected by insecurity, especially in Benue and Niger States.
- Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu’s national security agenda, particularly the recent intervention in Benue State, the PGF also endorsed enhanced inter-agency coordination, community policing, and grassroots intelligence systems. It further called for increased investment in surveillance infrastructure and improved welfare for frontline security personnel.
- The governors affirmed that the APC remains the most institutionally coherent political platform in the country, with a proven track record of reforms, electoral victories, and national unity.
- The Forum also acknowledged the recent resignation of the APC National Chairman, H.E. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, describing it as part of the party’s ongoing evolution and internal democratic maturity.
- Reiterating their commitment to a united, just, and prosperous Nigeria, the PGF pledged to continue working collaboratively to implement bold reforms, strengthen institutional trust, and accelerate socio-economic development across all geopolitical zones.
- The governors resolved to remain faithful stewards of the party’s values, leveraging innovation and sub-national collaboration to transform Nigeria from the bottom up.
- They called on Nigerians at home and abroad to unite behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC as the country charts a path toward a more secure, inclusive, and forward-looking future.
- The two-day meeting concluded with a courtesy visit to the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, who urged the governors to serve as instruments of development and champions of national growth. A Guarantor is not a Surety and definitely not a Referee
Let’s get this straight.
A lot of people confuse these terms.
Some even think they all mean the same thing.
They don’t.
When you stand as a Guarantor, you are giving the lender a promise that you will pay if the borrower fails to pay after all steps have been taken to recover the debt from the borrower first.
The borrower must first default.
The lender must first exhaust all means to get the borrower to pay.
Only then can they come for you as the guarantor.
But when you stand as a Surety, it’s more serious.
A surety is like saying, “If this person doesn’t pay on the due date, come straight to me. No need to chase them first.”
In other words, as a surety, you’re equally and immediately liable once there’s default.
Now, let’s talk about Referees.
Some people think being a guarantor is the same thing as being a referee.
It’s not.
A referee is simply someone who confirms that the person applying for a job, loan, or apartment is known to them and has good character.
That’s all.
A referee is not taking on any financial responsibility. A referee is not liable to pay any debt. They are just vouching for the person’s behaviour, not their ability to repay loans.
So next time you’re asked to be a guarantor, surety, or referee understand exactly what you’re signing up for.
One carries serious financial risk.
One comes with immediate liability.
The other? Just character reference.
Be wise. Read before you sign. Don’t let friendship or emotions drag you into debt.

BREAKING: Dalori Sworn-In as New APC National Chairman as Ganduje Bows Out
June 27, 2025
Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori has been sworn in as the Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from the position.
Dalori, who until now served as the Deputy National Chairman (North), officially assumed leadership of Nigeria’s ruling party on Friday, June 27, shortly after Ganduje tendered his resignation on health grounds. The move marks the beginning of a transitional phase in the APC, with Dalori expected to steer the party pending its next National Convention slated for December 2025.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, was attended by members of the National Working Committee (NWC), state party leaders, and other top stakeholders. Dalori was administered the oath of office amid applause and pledges of loyalty from party officials.
In his brief remarks after taking the oath, Dalori emphasized unity, discipline, and inclusiveness as the cornerstones of his leadership. He vowed to strengthen internal cohesion within the party and ensure transparent preparations for the upcoming convention.
Ganduje’s resignation, which came as a surprise to many within the party, was confirmed earlier in the day through an internal communication to the NWC. In his farewell message, the former Kano State Governor thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and members of the party for the opportunity to serve.
Dalori, a grassroots politician from Borno State, is widely seen as a calm and strategic leader. He has played key roles in the APC’s internal negotiations and reconciliation efforts since the 2023 general elections. His elevation to the top party position is being interpreted by analysts as a move that could restore internal balance and prepare the APC for upcoming off-cycle governorship polls and the 2027 elections.
Sources within the party say his ability to engage across regional divides and maintain open lines of communication will be crucial in managing tensions that have persisted within the APC’s ranks since the last election cycle.BREAKING: Dalori Sworn-In as New APC National Chairman as Ganduje Bows Out June 27, 2025 Hon. "Tinubu Set To Reinstate Fubara, Bars Him From Seeking Re-election Comes 2027" All news matters
President Bola Tinubu has agreed to reinstate Siminalayi Fubara as the governor of Rivers state — but with the condition that he will not seek re-election in 2027.
The truce was reached during a closed-door meeting on Thursday night at the Presidential Villa, where Tinubu hosted Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT); Fubara; Martin Amaewhule, the suspended speaker of the Rivers assembly; and a handful of lawmakers.
Presidency sources say the deal, part of a broader effort to restore democratic order in Rivers, involves significant concessions.
According to insiders, one of the key terms is that Fubara will be reinstated to complete his four-year tenure but must forgo any plans to seek a second term in 2027 — a move that will limit his clout but to which he agreed.
A source said, as part of the conditions, Wike would be allowed to nominate all the local government chairpersons across the 23 LGAs of the state.
A source in the presidency said this would serve as significant political leverage, restoring grassroots control to the FCT minister.
TheCable understands that Fubara has also agreed to pay all outstanding allowances and entitlements owed to the 27 lawmakers loyal to Wike who were suspended from the state assembly.
In return, the lawmakers will not initiate any impeachment proceedings against him.
The suspended legislators — led by Amaewhule — had defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) amid the power tussle but continued to lay claim to their seats.
Their status as lawmakers has been a subject of legal and political debate.
Sources described Thursday night’s meeting as a breakthrough in Tinubu’s push to reconcile Wike and the governor — but at the cost of Fubara giving up significant powers in exchange for political survival.
“The arrangement is clear: no second term, no local government control, and peace will return,” the source said.
“The president made it clear that Rivers cannot afford a prolonged crisis. The deal is about restoring calm, but it comes at a steep cost for Fubara,” another source said.
“Wike is the real winner here. By controlling the local government chairmen, he retains significant influence over the state’s political machinery, which will be crucial for 2027.”
THE WIKE-FUBARA FACE-OFF
The political rift between Fubara and Wike, his predecessor, has largely centred on control of the political structure in the oil-rich state.
While Wike has sought to maintain a firm grip on the political machinery he built over eight years in office as governor, Fubara had pushed back to assert his control as governor.
The power struggle triggered a political crisis in the state, destabilising governance, culminating in attempts to impeach Fubara.
Key institutions, including the state assembly, have been caught in the crossfire, with factions aligning with Wike or Fubara.
Previously attempts by Tinubu to broker peace between the two camps hit a brick wall.
Consequently, on March 18, Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers, citing the prolonged political crisis.
He also suspended Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu; and all members of the Rivers assembly for a period of six months.
The president appointed Ibok-Ette Ibas, a retired naval chief, as the state’s sole administrator.
By September, Fubara will have completed his six-month suspension."Tinubu Set To Reinstate Fubara, Bars Him From Seeking Re-election Comes 2027" All news matters ✍️ ✍️ President Bola Tinubu has agreed to reinstate Siminalayi Fubara as the governor of Rivers state — but with the condition that he will not seek re-election in 2027.
