Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has emphasized on the need for states and local governments to embrace fiscal discipline and revenue diversification to achieve sustainable development.

The Governor stated this while delivering a public lecture on the theme: "Leading Economic Development in Sub-Nationals of the Nigerian Federation: The ARISE Agenda," at the University of Uyo.

He noted that the ARISE Agenda was borne out of the desire to grow the economy while developing abundant human resources in the State, focuses on eight lofty goals including; Poverty reduction, Job creation, Price stability,sustainable economic growth, improved standard of living, environmental sustainability, highly educated, healthy and skilled people, and the Security of lives and property

He further explained that the ARISE Agenda, a flagship economic blueprint that guides his administration's development efforts, is an acronym for ‘five-group aspirations’: Agricultural Revolution, Tourism Development and Environmental Management; Rural Development, Women & Youth Empowerment; Infrastructural Maintenance and Advancement; Security Management, Sound Educational and Health Sector Management; and Economic, Industrial and Social Advancement

The Governor who holds a Doctorate degree in Public Administration from the University, said that since the inception of his administration, wastages in government have been minimized, and the government is determined to expand its revenue base by digitalization of government operations.

"Soon, we will launch AKWAGIS, a digital platform where we will be collecting ground rent, which as we speak is in the region of N16 billion. Through this platform, we will be able to seamlessly offer Certificates of Occupancy, which would help attract businesses to our State.

"We are also investing heavily in the tourism sector that has been variously described as the “New Black Gold.” From agricultural tourism, through our Ibom Model Farm, to medical tourism, with our planned Ibom International Medical Centre - a 200-bed hospital that will come with 24 different departments under one roof. This hospital, once completed, will compare to any such facility anywhere in the world.

"The ARISE Resort, which we hope to commission in the first half of this year, the International Conference Centre, the Ibom Tropicana Hotel, which we are poised to complete will signpost our ascendancy as the tourism hub of our nation and bring in billions of Naira in revenue.

" We remain committed to the growth and expansion of Ibom Air and work is ongoing in the Aviation Village, as part of our investments in the aviation eco- system.

"We are committed to the human capital development of our people and this has been acknowledged by the Federal Government and the World Bank, leading to the launch two days ago, of the Human Capital Development Strategic Plan by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON.

"We have achieved a success rate of 3.5% out of school children, against the national average of 25.6% - a truly remarkable feat.

"We are positioning our State for growth beyond oil by these strategic investments in tourism and human capital development," he said.

The Governor said to ensure the success of economic development in sub-nationals, policymakers must develop action plans before implementation, strengthen governance and institutional capacity, enhance internally generated revenue (IGR) to reduce reliance on federal allocations, promote regional economic cooperation and trade among states, encourage private sector-led development through investment incentives, and focus on collaboration rather than conflicts.

He appreciated the crafters of the ARISE Agenda, and expressed his determination to go the extra mile to further development in the State, while urging policymakers, corporate bodies, the academia, and citizens to join hands with him in the journey towards a prosperous, self-reliant, and globally competitive sub-national economy.

In his remarks, the President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio applauded the Governor for his inclusive leadership disposition which according to him has engendered unprecedented peace and security in the State.

Senator Akpabio who was represented by Dr. Saviour Enyiekere, Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), also commended the Governor for his collaboration with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government, and assured of the support of the All Progressives Congress in the State to ensure the Governor's second term victory in 2027.

Chairman of the Occasion, Emeritus Prof. Akpan Ekpo, the University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo and the Dean of the Host Faculty, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Christopher Ekong as well as Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Prof. Peter Esuh appreciated the Governor for accepting to share his thoughts through the public lecture, stressing that the ARISE Agenda is a comprehensive document that can drive development in the State and other sub-nationals.

The event which attracted eminent personalities within and outside the State, had as discussants, Prof. Okechukwu Onuchukwu, Vice - Chancellor, Ignatius Aguru University of Education, Rivers State, and Prof. Ebebe Ukpong, a development expert and former Commissioner in the State.

Flagged off in Afikpo North, Ebonyi State, the project aims to connect the South-East, South-South, and North-Central regions, improving accessibility and ending years of infrastructural neglect. It extends from Ndibe Beach in Afikpo, through Benue and Nasarawa, and into the FCT, Abuja, with additional access to Calabar via Cross River State.

President Tinubu, represented by Governor Francis Nwifuru, described the superhighway as a symbol of the Renewed Hope Agenda—a shift from marginalization to inclusion, connectivity, and nationwide development.

Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi Minister Of Works⁩, emphasized the highway’s strategic importance in stimulating trade, connectivity, and economic growth, calling it a key milestone of the administration’s infrastructural revolution.

This superhighway will significantly boost interstate commerce, reduce travel time, and enhance security and logistics across multiple regions. It is also expected to unlock agricultural and industrial potential, foster unity, and drive sustainable development across Nigeria’s heartland.

Here are a few ways to shift your mindset and focus on positive change:

1. **Change Your Language**: Instead of saying "I can't," try saying "I will try" or "I haven't found the solution yet." This opens the door to exploration and encourages a problem-solving attitude.

2. **Embrace Challenges**: View challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, rather than obstacles. This shift in perspective can motivate you to take action instead of retreating.

3. **Set Small Goals**: Break larger problems into smaller, manageable tasks. Celebrate the small wins to build confidence and momentum.

4. **Positive Affirmations**: Use affirmations to reinforce a growth mindset. Remind yourself of your strengths and capabilities regularly.

People keep telling you to be loud in your marketing, to be loud in your posts, but no one explains how and why.

1. Be Loud in Your Messaging.

You need to say the same thing over and over for people to really hear it. And I mean really hear it.

Repeat your message at least seven times for it to sink in. If you have to say it a dozen times, do it.

Don’t worry about being repetitive. If your message is valuable, people need to hear it multiple times before it resonates with them.


2. Be Loud in How Often You Talk About Your Offers.

Don’t assume that people have seen your offer just because you posted it once.

You might think, “I’ve shared it already, they’ve seen it,” but sometimes, that’s not the case.

Your audience might have missed it, forgotten it, or didn’t catch the urgency.


Here’s the thing, we are adults. We have a million things running through our heads daily.

People are distracted. They have their own budgets, responsibilities, and priorities.

Just because you posted something once doesn’t mean they’ve paid full attention.

Don’t stop. Keep showing up, keep talking about your offer, and keep reminding them why it matters.


The more consistently you show up with your message, the more you build awareness and trust.

The louder you are in your marketing, the more you will be seen.

Yesterday, I made a random funny post about how Bro Theo ended up not proposing to sister Nkechi because he saw her dragging food at a wedding.

And then, some ladies were saying that Bro Theo doesn't love sister Nkechi, that if he does, he would have put up with that attitude.

Smiles. It's easier to tell a guy to put up with a négative attitude that a lady displays than to tell the lady to do the same thing.

When it's the lady displaying the attitude, we call it being herself, but when it's a guy, we call it réd flags.

We have gradually started applauding attitudinal issûes as part of being ourselves, and that is why we have refused to work on them.

The end point is this

If you can't marry a guy because he smókes, fîghts in public and even abûses you; you shouldn't expect a guy to go ahead and marry you when you are always disgràcing your village people in public by dràgging and fîghting for food, just because you are a lady.

Oh! You call it T.Pàin? Smiles... A guy can as well excusé his attitude to be a psychological result of T. Paîn too

You are getting it now, right? Just the way you want a great guy with demure and steeze, this is the same way a guy wants to see that in you too.

Police Declare ABC Transport Founder’s Daughter Wanted for Cybercrime Offenses

The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) has declared Ihuoma Julia Nneji, daughter of ABC Transport founder Frank Nneji, wanted for alleged offences including criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking.

In a bulletin issued by the Office of the Inspector-General of Police, Nneji is accused of involvement in cybercrime-related activities. Authorities directed her immediate arrest and urged anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or the NPF-NCCC headquarters in Abuja. According to police, her last known address was in Victoria Garden City, Lagos.

This development comes just months after Nneji initiated a defamation lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja against prominent social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, influencer Kemi Olunloyo, and lawyer Henry Ikenna Uzochukwu.

VeryDarkMan had previously accused Nneji of making inappropriate allegations against her ex-husband, misrepresenting herself as an American travel nurse, and undergoing multiple cosmetic procedures, including a Brazilian Butt Lift.

The controversy, initially an online exchange, has now intensified into a serious criminal investigation by Nigerian authorities.

The police appeal to members of the public to assist by providing useful information leading to Nneji’s arrest.
