• Black Hotel Maid Answered A Call In DUTCH In Front Of A Millionaire - Then He Asked To See Her...

a black hotel made answer to call in Dutch in front of a millionaire the next day he sent for her zoe's cell phone rang as she cleaned the floor of the luxurious lobby of the Grand Plaza Hotel normally she would never answer during working hours rule number one from manager Richards especially for cleaning staff but she recognized the number it was the university after six unsuccessful attempts to get a scholarship for her master's program in linguistics this call could change everything one moment she whispered to
herself hiding behind an ornate marble column that's when her life changed in seconds "zoe Johnson," she answered discreetly hoping not to be noticed by the guests passing through the lobby the voice on the other end spoke in perfect Dutch it was Professor Van Hton from the University of Amsterdam zoe responded immediately in the same language her impeccable pronunciation flowing naturally as they discussed details of her application for the international program mine motiv was te lot on mogul eb had twe weakened gelen verzandon Zoe
explained concerned that her letter of motivation had supposedly not arrived on time that was when she noticed the sudden silence around her she looked up and saw Richard Coleman the billionaire owner of the hotel chain standing a few feet away watching her with an undisguised look of surprise next to him was manager Richards her eyes wide with fury Zoe swallowed hard I have to go igbel j later terri she said hurriedly in Dutch hanging up the phone johnson in my office now the manager's voice cut through the air the walk to the small
administrative office in the basement seemed endless zoe felt the stairs of her colleagues some pitying others barely concealing their satisfaction at 29 she was the only black woman in the cleaning department with a college degree something that manager Richards made a point of constantly forgetting you know the rules Johnson no phones during working hours especially in common areas richards fired off as soon as she closed the door and talking in what was that french dutch zoe corrected instinctively regretting it immediately
i don't care if it was Martian what I care about is that Mr coleman the owner of this hotel saw a cleaning lady ignoring her duties to talk on the phone in the lobby the injustice burned like acid the white receptionists took personal calls regularly with no consequences but Zoe knew what was going on it was the same pattern as always i'm assigning you to the convention center bathrooms for the next 3 months maybe there you can practice as many languages as you want without embarrassing the hotel zoe felt her stomach sink the
convention center meant double cleaning shifts after corporate events with no overtime it was Richard's classic punishment for those who crossed the line you can go and be thankful you're not being fired that night was one of the longest in her small apartment shared with two fellow nurses Zoe cried silently staring at her linguistics degree and international certificates framed on the peeling wall 6 years of cleaning hotel rooms while trying to save for a master's degree while sending out resumes that never received a
response after in-person interviews the next morning she arrived early determined to show professionalism despite the injustice that's when the phone at the front desk rang zoe Johnson called Jennifer the head receptionist human resources wants you right away the HR department was on the top floor next to the executive offices uncharted territory for cleaning staff in the elevator she felt invisible as always surrounded by executives discussing million-dollar mergers without even noticing her johnson called the HR director as soon
as she entered please have a seat zoe sat stiffly preparing for the worst termination most likely mr coleman has requested a meeting with you now the owner's office was bigger than her entire apartment richard Coleman at 45 was famous in the business world for turning bankrupt hotels into luxury properties and now he was looking directly at her dutch French Italian and Mandarin correct he asked bluntly consulting an open folder on the desk zoe blinked confused how did you your resume i asked HR for it as soon as I
heard you yesterday honors degree in linguistics from Georgetown fluent in six languages two of them Asian and cleaning my hotel for six years what Zoe didn't know was that this moment was no coincidence what no one in that hotel suspected was that behind that phone call in Dutch was a much bigger story an unlikely connection that would not only transform Zoe's life but expose a system of discrimination that for years had kept extraordinary talent hidden behind brooms and cleaning products if this story of prejudice in the workplace

  • I’ve said over and over in interviews that our job in mobilization is ensuring we have polling unit agents in every single polling unit in Nigeria, and that’s what we will do.

    Let me give an example.

    This is in Kano State.

Peter Obi won this polling unit, but no agent signed this. At the end of the day the other big 2 parties shared the results at will.

    And this happened everywhere else….

This is what we must correct in 2027. And correct we will.

  • TEACHERS, UPGRADE OR STEP ASIDE

No matter what subject you teach… no matter where you work… if you truly want to survive and grow in this profession, you must upgrade yourself.

If you know deep down that you don’t have full mastery of your subject, don’t just sit there—do something about it. Study. Practice. Learn. Or simply quit.

Yes, quit. Because if you stay without improving, the world of teaching will humiliate you in ways you can’t imagine. You will become a joke to school owners. They’ll delay your salary without apology, treat you like trash, trample on your rights, and still expect you to smile. You won’t be promoted. You won’t be respected. And you definitely won’t be paid well.

But when you know your stuff—when you become a master of your craft—you become a boss. And guess what? No school dares to mess with a boss. If they try to, you walk away and another school—one that values you—will open their doors and offer you more. Because excellence is attractive. Good market sells itself.

In fact, when you’re really good, you won’t need to beg. School owners will chase you—because they know what you bring to the table.

So please, stop complaining and start working on yourself. Learn new skills. Master technology. Develop your communication. Do everything you can to become better than you were last year.

Because here’s the truth: many teachers are stuck in t0xic schools not because there are no better places—but because they simply can’t pass interviews elsewhere. And that’s why they endure $uffering year after year.

So, I say this with all the love in my heart: If you cannot learn, if you cannot grow, if you cannot evolve—please quit teaching.

Because if you don’t, this profession will br€ak you… silently and pa!nfully.

  • *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

    DATE: FRIDAY 25TH JULY 2025

    THEME: *REFUSE TO QUIT*

    MEMORIZE
    Isaiah 43:19
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

    READ
    Luke 9:59-62
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
    *Life belongs to determined visionaries.*

    MESSAGE
It is on record that Jack Ma, the richest man in China was the only person rejected by KFC out of twenty four applicants. Harvard rejected him ten times, thirty employers said he was unemployable, but today he runs a $500 billion dollars empire.

He mentioned in interviews that he applied to Harvard on ten different occasions and was rejected each time. He often shares this story as a lesson in persistence, resilience, and turning rejection into motivation.

    In his own words:

    > "I applied for Harvard ten times, and was rejected. I told myself, someday I should go teach there."

Jack Ma uses this part of his story to encourage people not to give up in the face of failure or rejection.

Those who give up never reach the top of the game of life.

    *Life belongs to determined visionaries.*

Father Abraham would not give up in the days when nothing seemed to make sense hence he became the father of many nations. When Isaac wanted to give up, God came to him in a vision to encourage him against giving up.

There are times when giving up on your dream will be the only reasonable thing to do.

All great people have had their fair shares in the cocktails of discouragement in life. We all do, but the difference between those who succeeded and those who failed is the ability to see where you are going and to stay on course with determination no matter what you face.

Rejection is not an excuse to turn back, neither is failure an excuse to give up. Your choice in every given situation is what counts.

A wise man once said: "If it must be, then it's up to me"

When you are faced with no other options but to turn back and run away, then remember that God makes a way where there is no way. And if you persist and persevere, you will discover that there is actually a way where there is no way...

Certainly, the one who made a way in the red sea can make a way on dry lands for you.

There is no such a thing as "NO WAY." It's just a mere mindset that is subject to change.

There is always a way even if it's not visible to your eyes.

Trust the Holy Spirit [the pathfinder] to show you the hidden ways of genuine success in front of you.

Beloved, to give up or to stay on course to the end is entirely your choice. To win or to fail is dependent on your ability to persevere until you win.

You can choose not to quit. The world may be against you, refuse to be against yourself.

    Shalom, maranatha!

    *Life belongs to determined visionaries.*

    AUTHOR: JEDIDIAH DAVID

    DAILY READING: Psalms 135-137; Proverbs 24; Luke 14-15;

    HYMN
    1
"There shall be showers of blessing":
    This is the promise of love;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Saviour above.

Show - - ers of blessing,
    Showers of blessing we need;
    Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

    2
"There shall be showers of blessing"—
    Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain.

    3
"There shall be showers of blessing"
Send them upon us, O Lord!:
    Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honour Thy Word.

    4
"There shall be showers of blessing":
Oh that to-day they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

"I blame TVC for putting you on a professional broadcast. Why are you talking about me? Do you know my age? Stop talking about me. I finished school and graduated from secondary school. I didn’t go to university because I couldn’t afford it. When I was suffering in Ikorodu, did you help me?I have been helping people on TikTok, giving out N2 million and N3 million to support them. Did you ever talk about that?

Are you among those who gifted me money? So why are you talking about me? I wish I had rejected the call from you people to appear on your TV show. You are tarnishing my name" — Peller said.

TVC ace host Riyah reacted to Peller conducting job interviews for graduates and master’s degree holders, offering N500k for the position of a cameraman.

  • 🎙Reece James' Full Pre-PSG/Club World Cup final Press Conference:

Reece James: "We prepare as if we are playing another game. It's a final, but we prepare every game as if we want to win."

Reece James: "This game is a super high level game. They are one of the hottest teams in the world. But this is a final and one-off game. I've been in many finals before where we've been favourites and haven't come out on top. I don't care [who are the favourites]."

Reece James: "The biggest challenge is the circumstances. The travel, quality of the pitch, the climate is so hot."

Reece James on Enzo Fernandez: "Enzo is an amazing player and person. He's come on so much since he arrived at Chelsea. He's a huge part of Chelsea and huge player for our team. He will play a huge part on Sunday."

Reece James: "I wasn't injured. Let's put that to bed. Talking about our two midfielders, Moi and Enzo, two phenomenal players. They're up there with the best in the world. That will be displayed on Sunday. I wasn't feeling so good in the warm up [vs Palmeiras]. I've come a long way with my history. Would I have played? I probably could have. But if I looked back... I thought it was the best decision to not take unnecessary risks."

Reece James: "If we win on Sunday, we would probably be the best on the day. We're striving to get there [to be the best in Europe and the world]. Whether one game decides that is probably up for you to decide."

Reece James: "Stats, data and who is favourites, it doesn't mean anything to me or the team. It's two great, young sides playing against each other on the biggest stage. I believe we will go toe to toe."

Reece James on Joao Pedro: "Joao is an amazing young player. I've played against him many times. I'm not sure how many knew his quality. He made his first start and scored two goals. His quality has opened a lot of peoples eyes. We're happy to have him."

Reece James: “I’m sure the analyst team we have will be looking at the games where PSG haven’t done so well, and we’ll try and adapt to that”

  • NEW STORY: SHADOWS OF THE REPUBLIC

Episode 1: The Whisper in the Dark

The streets of Abuja pulsed under the weight of midnight. Neon lights flickered over potholes and street hawkers closed up their stalls, muttering prayers under their breath. In the distant hills, the Presidential Villa gleamed like a jewel - a symbol of power few could touch.

Inside a modest newsroom on Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Amaka Okoye hunched over her laptop, her eyes burning from hours of staring at classified documents. Her desk was littered with coffee cups, Post-it notes, and a recorder with half a dozen interviews. She ran a hand through her thick natural hair, exhaling.

Her editor, Rasheed Bello, a graying man in his 50s, knocked softly on the door.
“Amaka, you need to go home. It’s past midnight.”
“I’m close, Rasheed,” she whispered. “I can feel it. Something is buried in these files — something big.”

She clicked through the last folder. The informant, who only signed his emails as S.K. had sent her a treasure trove: contracts, bank transfers, coded messages, and one document labeled ‘Project Halo.’ The details were murky, but a few phrases jumped out at her:

    ‘Foreign agents.’
    ‘Presidential cover.’
    ‘Suppress opposition.’
    ‘Black funds.’

Her pulse quickened. This wasn’t just about some missing funds or a rigged local election. This smelled like national betrayal.

    ---

Across the city, Detective Femi Adeyemi stepped out of his unmarked car, the humid night air heavy on his skin. The crime scene was chaos — a charred SUV still smoldered on the side of the road, the scent of burnt flesh thick in the air. His junior officers were busy cordoning off the area.

He moved carefully toward the wreckage. A political activist, Olumide Akande, had been inside — one of the most vocal critics of Senator Ibrahim Kure.

Femi crouched, squinting at the blast pattern. This wasn’t a random robbery gone wrong. This was surgical.
“Sir,” his junior, Sergeant Musa, called. “There’s something you need to see.”

Inside the glove compartment, under layers of ash, they pulled out a USB drive, surprisingly intact.
Femi’s brow furrowed. Who carries a USB drive to a political rally?

    Back at Amaka’s Office:

Suddenly, the office lights flickered. She froze.
Her phone buzzed — an unknown number.
    “Who’s this?” she answered cautiously.
A male voice, low and hurried:
“Miss Okoye, they know you’re onto Project Halo. Leave the office. Now.”
    “Who is this?”
“You’ll find no truth if you’re dead.”

    The line cut.

Her breath hitched. She grabbed her laptop and shoved it into her bag. As she swung her door open, she saw shadows — two men in black approaching the building’s entrance.

She slipped into the back stairwell, heart pounding. As she descended, her foot slipped on a loose tile, sending a loud clatter down the concrete steps. She froze, barely daring to breathe.

    Footsteps above. Voices.
    “She’s here.”
    “She couldn’t have gone far.”

Amaka darted down, pushing open the exit into the back alley. Her breath came in ragged gasps as she sprinted through the dark, weaving between parked cars and bins.

    *****
Senator Ibrahim Kure lounged in a dimly lit penthouse, gazing out over the Lagos skyline.
A glass of whiskey in one hand, he listened quietly as his chief of staff, Aisha Musa, read the report.
    ?’
“She’s found the dossier. Amaka Okoye.”
    Kure gave a thin smile.
    “She’s resourceful.”
“She’s dangerous,” Aisha corrected. “If this leaks, we lose everything. We have less than a year to the election.”

    Kure turned, his eyes cold.
    “Handle it.”

    ---

    Amaka’s Escape:

She flagged down a passing **keke napep** and threw herself inside.
    “Wuse 2, fast!”
The driver, startled by her urgency, sped off.

Amaka pulled out her phone, shaking. She needed help, someone outside her circle. She thought briefly of Femi — she’d met him once during a corruption story on the police force. Could she trust him?

Her thoughts were interrupted when headlights flared behind them — a black SUV, gaining.

“Faster!” she yelled at the keke driver.
But the SUV rammed them, sending the little tricycle skidding. Amaka tumbled out, scraping her arm on the asphalt. She scrambled up and ran, the SUV doors opening behind her, men in black pouring out.

She ducked into a side street, weaving through makeshift market stalls, gasping for breath. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her, pulling her into the shadows. She yelped, but a familiar voice hissed:

    “Amaka, it’s me — Femi.”

He’d been following the black SUVs all evening after picking up chatter on the police radio. He wasn’t sure why — something about the pattern didn’t sit right. When he saw Amaka’s face under the streetlight, he knew she was the reason.

“Come on,” he said urgently. “We don’t have long.”
“How do you know me?” she demanded as they hurried through the alley.
    “I know you’re in trouble.”
“And you just happened to show up?”
“Later, Miss Reporter. Right now, we run.”

A figure watched them from a nearby rooftop. Dressed in a black turtleneck, holding a sniper rifle, he reported quietly into an earpiece.

    “They’re together now.”
    A voice crackled back:
    “Don’t kill them. Yet.”

    ****
Amaka and Femi reached a safe house on the outskirts, a rundown apartment Femi kept off the books. He locked the door behind them.

    “Explain,” Amaka demanded, panting.
“I was investigating a string of murders — activists, whistleblowers. It’s all connected to someone powerful.”

“I know,” Amaka whispered, pulling out her laptop. “It’s called Project Halo.”

Suddenly, a loud knock rattled the door.
    Femi froze.
    “Did anyone follow you?”
    “No,” she whispered.

    The knock came again, harder.

    Then — bang!

The door exploded inward, sending them both flying as armed men stormed inside, guns raised.

    Blackness.

  • 🎙Enzo Maresca's Full Pre-LAFC Press Conference:

Enzo Maresca: "We need to see the impact of the Club World Cup. Our rivals are on holiday, we are here. It's a new competition. We will see how it affects our season."

Enzo Maresca: "We've only had ten days. Some of the players also had international duty. The feeling when we returned was a bit like pre-season. We had some new players. The main message, though, was, 'Guys, this is not pre-season. It's a big tournament'."

Enzo Maresca: "The situation about the keepers is quite simple. Robert Sanchez is number one. Filip Jorgensen is number two. And we will analyse and judge Mike Penders. Maignan is with another club."

Enzo Maresca: "The players with us were with us last season, [other than] Jadon Sancho and Wesley Fofana due to injury. It was not complicated to pick this squad."

Enzo Maresca on Cole Palmer wearing face mask on the plane: "I didn't ask him. He wasn't ill. To be honest, I don't even know if it was for a joke!"

Enzo Maresca: "Jadon [Sancho] is not with us so for sure that is a position we need to do something. We have Noni, Pedro and Ty only as the proper wingers so something for sure is going to happen..."

Enzo Maresca: "For sure, we are going to rotate players. It is impossible in this heat to always play with the same players."

Enzo Maresca: "Success is to try and win tomorrow against Los Angeles. I don't like to look too much further ahead. 2024/25, we achieved an important top-four finish and won a European trophy."

Enzo Maresca: "Liam knows how important the no.9 is for this club. I see Liam relaxed and easy, since he arrived he's working well. I know what he can give us and he knows what he needs to be a better player. As no.9, hopefully he can score goals for us."
