Fiba Africa unveiled the newly designed #AfroBasketWomen trophy , Nigeria D'Tigress became the first team to win it.
Super Falcons made it their 10th Wafcon title, setting a history in African football.
While D’Tigress made it their 5th back to back title win in a row and their 7th AfroBasketWomen title overall, setting a history in African Basketball.

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, through her Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), has donated N1 billion to provide succour for the victims of the recent flood disaster that occurred in Mokwa Local Government Area of Niger State, Nigerian Tribune reports.
According to a statement on X by the Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the donation was made during a condolence visit to the state on Tuesday.

Lagos is No Man Land, Lagos Belongs To All Tribes Not Yorubas – Charly Boy
Veteran singer, Charles Oputa, popularly called Charly Boy, has shared his views on the status of Lagos State, describing it as a city that belongs to no single ethnic group.
According to him, just like New York in the United States, Lagos brings together people from different backgrounds and works because of that blend.
Charly Boy argued that Lagos, being Nigeria’s former capital, naturally attracts people from across the country who now call it home.
He explained that the growth and energy of Lagos come from its people, not from any specific tribe.
His comments comes on the heels of the renaming of a well-known bus stop in Bariga, which used to bear his name but was changed to Olamide Baddo by the local council, in honour of the famous rapper Olamide Adedeji.

Security forces in Zamfara State have eliminated eight bandits during a fierce gun battle in Fegin Kanawa village, Wonaka District of Gusau Local Government Area.

GOVERNOR UBA SANI APPOINTS BEN KURE AS MANAGING DIRECTOR, KADUNA STATE MEDIA CORPORATION
The Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, CON has appointed Mr. Ben Solomon Dalhatu Kure as the Managing Director of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC). He replaces Mr. Ahmed Maiyaki who has just been appointed the Commissioner for Information.
Mr. Ben Kure is expected to build on Mr. Ahmed Maiyaki's excellent work which has transformed the media corporation into a strategic vehicle for effective public information dissemination and management.
Mr. Ben Kure is a public communication expert and political strategist. He brings to his new assignment his wealth of experience in various fields, including public service and banking.
He served as the Chairman of Jaba Local Government from 2016 to 2017, Executive Secretary, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency from 2018 to 2019, and Special Adviser (Political Matters) to the Kaduna State Governor from 2019 to 2021. He was Branch Manager of Oceanic Bank PLC/ECOBANK Nigeria PLC from 2010 to 2012, Team Leader, Zenith Bank PLC from 2005 to 2006, and Team Leader (Public Sector), Broad Bank from 2003 to 2004.
Mr. Ben Kure holds a Masters in Conflict, Peace and Strategic Studies, and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geography and Planning. He is a Corporate Member, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), and Member, The Institute of Management Consultants (MIMC).
While congratulating Mr. Ben Kure on his well deserved appointment, Governor Uba Sani wished him God's guidance and protection.
