  • How to Recognize a Venomous Snake: 8 Practical Tips for Safety

    Whether you're out hiking, working in the garden, or simply enjoying nature, being able to distinguish a venomous snake from a harmless one is an important skill that can help you avoid danger.

    Here are eight essential tips to help you identify potentially venomous snakes:

    Observe the Head Shape
    Venomous snakes typically have a wide, triangular or arrow-shaped head.
    This shape comes from the venom glands located behind their eyes. However, head shape alone isn’t foolproof.

    Be Aware of Imitation Behavior
    Some non-venomous snakes can flatten their heads to mimic the triangular shape of venomous species.
    This defense mechanism is meant to scare off predators—so never rely solely on head shape for identification.

    Check the Eyes—From a Distance
    Venomous snakes often have vertical, slit-shaped pupils, while non-venomous ones usually have round pupils. But only make this observation if it's absolutely safe—never approach a snake to inspect its eyes.

    Examine Bite Marks (If Bitten)
    Venomous bites usually leave one or two deep puncture wounds, whereas non-venomous bites may leave several small, shallow teeth marks in a U-shape.
    Regardless of the bite’s appearance, seek medical attention immediately.

    Recognize the Symptoms of a Venomous Bite
    Watch for swelling, intense pain that spreads quickly, and discoloration or bruising around the bite area.
    These are signs of venom injection, and emergency medical help should be sought without delay.

    Avoid Close Contact
    Never attempt to handle, kill, or move a snake—even if it appears dead or harmless.
    Most bites occur when people get too close.
    Maintaining distance is your best form of protection.

    Note the Snake’s Appearance
    In the event of a snakebite, try to remember key details about the snake,
    such as its color, pattern, and approximate length.
    This information can be critical for doctors to administer the correct treatment.

    Educate Yourself About Local Snakes
    Each region has its own range of venomous and non-venomous snake species.
    Take time to learn which snakes live in your area, especially if you’re hiking, camping, or spending time outdoors.

  • What if most of reality... is invisible to us?

    It’s not just poetic it’s scientific. Roughly 95% of the entire universe is made up of dark matter and dark energy substances that don’t emit light, can’t be touched, and can’t be seen with the naked eye. Without advanced instruments, they’re completely undetectable. And yet, they make up almost everything.

    But this isn’t just about galaxies and space dust.

    Even in our day-to-day lives, humans are essentially navigating the world through sensory blindfolds. Our eyes are only sensitive to a narrow slice of the electromagnetic spectrum just the visible light range between 430 and 790 terahertz. Our ears? Tuned to sounds between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. That’s it. Outside those limits lies a sea of information we simply can’t perceive.

    There are colors we’ll never see. Sounds we’ll never hear. Entire symphonies of radio waves, infrared signals, ultraviolet rays, and subsonic vibrations moving through the air, through matter even through us without us ever knowing.

    From the low rumbles of deep-sea whales to streams of invisible neutrinos silently passing through our bodies, we’re surrounded by a hidden world. Technology like infrared cameras, X-rays, and particle detectors let us peek behind the curtain but only barely.

    The more science uncovers, the more it becomes clear: our experience of reality is just a fraction of what truly exists. And that raises the ultimate question: How much more is out there, waiting to be discovered

  • *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

    DATE: TUESDAY 5TH AUGUST 2025

    THEME: *TELL THE WORLD ABOUT JESUS*

    MEMORISE
    Mark 16:15
    And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

    READ
    Mark 16:15-20
    And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
    He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
    And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
    They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
    So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
    And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
    *There is a dying world waiting daily to be saved through you. Reach out now!*

    MESSAGE
    Media began with God desperately trying to reach and save the world He made with a message of His love, healing, deliverance, and salvation from sin. He began by writing the message on tables of stones and sending it through His servant Moses.

    From that to scrolls, and then to papers, to electronic media, ie, television, radio, etc.

    Today, media has greatly evolved and gone beyond imagination.

    Everything is almost on the social media network, and just with a click on your system or a touch on your pad or smartphone, you can disseminate information to the whole world in just a second.
    And so right at the corner of your room, you can affect millions of lives away from you. What an avalanche of opportunity to reach the world with the message about the love of our Saviour. Yet with these opportunities available through technology, many yet give excuses why they cannot witness to dying souls about the love of God... Others would rather use all the time they have to engage in frivolities and ungodly chatting on Facebook or other social media network. Many watch polluted films, while others spread jokes that have no eternal values, injurious reports, unedifying news reports with their phones and systems...

    Beloved, you are just a touch away from the whole world. You can save a soul with just a post on Facebook or Wattsap chat. And what you do with these opportunities will tell in eternity for you or against you.

    There is no other generation that is so closely connected through the power of media like this generation. People are on the social media network throughout the day and night. And it doesn't matter what time of the day or night that you make a post or chat on Facebook. There are always people waiting to respond. What an opportunity to reach out to the world!

    Beloved, there is a dying world waiting daily to be saved through you. Many of them hang out on the social media network to either get a message that will liberate or save them or perish through the junks on the media.

    Reach out now, use the powers of the present-day media to tell the whole world about Jesus, He deserves to be heard and seen by the world He died for.

    ACTION STEPS
    1. Create a broadcast list on your smartphone to send edifying gospel messages daily. It is part of evangelism.
    2. Share this message to encourage someone to reach out to lost souls.
    3. Pray for the unsaved to be saved through you and others who preach the gospel daily.

    PRAYERS
    Dear heavenly Father, Thank you for today's devotional guide. Help me to see and engage every opportunity you have given me to preach the gospel daily in Jesus' name. Amen.

    REMEMBER
    *There is a dying world waiting daily to be saved through you. Reach out now!*

    AUTHOR: JEDIDIAH DAVID

    DAILY READING: Isaiah 37-38; 2Cor 5-6.

    HYMN
    Rescue the souls that perish,
    Seek for the lost that stray ;
    atiently guide their footsteps
    Into the narrow way ;
    Over them kindly bending,
    Whisper the Saviour's call ;
    Tell them the feast is ready —
    Tell them there's room for all.

    Room . . for all, . .
    Room . . for all ! . .
    Tell them the feast is ready —
    Tell them there's room for all.

    2
    Out of the vale of sorrow,
    Out of the starless night,
    Into the golden sunshine,
    Peaceful, and pure, and bright :
    Gather them now to Jesus —
    Whisper again the call ;
    Tell them the feast is ready —
    Tell them there's room for all.

    3
    Go with a loving spirit,
    Go in the Master's name :
    Life, and a full salvation,
    Now to the world proclaim :
    Haste while the day-beams linger;
    Haste ere the shadows fall ;
    Tell them the feast is ready —
    Tell them there's room for all.

  • BTW OLUWO AND BÀBÁ ALAAFIN ADEYEMI OF BLESSED MEMORY!!
    I just listened to a Láḿbà on Facebook that bàbá Aláàfin Adeyemi wanted to impeach Oluwo which made him to put himself under the Sultan of Sokoto.
    The information is not true. From the best of my knowledge there is no cause for Aláàfin Adeyemi of blessed memory to impeach Oluwo because they had good relationship that made baba Alaafin to visit Oluwo in his days.
    The controversy that happened btw Oluwo and one Ọ̀shun state Ọbas that might have led to Oluwo impeachment was within Ọ̀shun state which was intervained by bàbá Ọọ̀nirìṣà then..
    The picture posted was taken when bàbá Alaafin àná visited Oluwo at his palace in Ìwó. When Oluwo began to blackmail ìṣẹ̀ṣe, I learnt that bàbá Alaafin gave him advice but Oluwo did not listen because he wanted to make himself popular with social media content.
    Oluwo relationship with Sultan might be because he wanted to become the head of Mùsùlùwọ́n in the southern part of Nigeria of which the position was given to Awùjalẹ̀ àná.
    Unfortunately for most of our kabiesi, they don't know that any Ọba that take any religion title have brought themselves low bcos they will definitely be subordinate to someone else in their religion.
    The Òrìṣà are their biological ancestral parents who they carry their DNA. Igbakeji Òrìṣà is the same as next to the ancestors.
    In our tradition, Òlòdúmàrè is the most supreme, followed by the Òrìṣà and after the Òrìṣà are our Ọba.
    Any Ọba klaiming to be Àrólé Òlòdúmàrè is living life of illusion. Children can only be Àrólé to their parents. The Òrìṣà are in charge of the nature.
    Can anyone tamper with nature without invoking the Òrìṣà spirit?? Science is a Latin word for occult knowledge in English. I laugh at some people who call themselves scientist and kriticise ìṣẹ̀ṣe. It literally mean occult knowledge. Science is mystery beyond human knowledge.
    Any human being who is a king claiming to be Àrólé Òlòdúmàrè is a suffering from personality disorder.
    IRE OOOOO!!
