    THEME: *THE ULTIMATE POWER.*

    MEMORIZE
    Luke 5:5
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

    READ
    Luke 5:4-9
Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.
And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.
When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.
For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: *When we submit to God's word over our lives, we have submitted to the ultimate in the universe.*

    MESSAGE
The universe came into existence at the instance of God's spoken word.

He literally spoke everything into existence and held them in place firmly by the same word. So powerful is the Word, that He Himself submits to His word.

Everything is a product of words relatively.

Every man or woman is a product of words. We all are products of the words we have listened to cumulatively over the years.

The medical doctor was made by listening to certain words over a period of time. The lawyer was made by words. The Architect is a product of words. Our parents moulded our lives with words.

And God moulded the universe by simply speaking.

*In the realms of words, God's word is the ultimate.*

    The Bible puts it this way;
Psalms 138:2 "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."

The word is the greatest revelation of God in the universe. He has always existed as the Word. He manifested as the Word. His word is His bond.

And when we submit to God's word over our lives, we have submitted to the ultimate in the universe. There is nothing as great as the Word of God anywhere in the universe.

The one who submits to God's word will be put in command of the world, because God rules and runs the world by His word.

It appeared that Peter the fisherman understood this truth even as an unschooled fisherman that he was.

As against his professional ethics in fishery, he hearkened to the word of the Son of God and his night was turned into day.
Peter became an apostle of the Word because he was converted by the power of the word that worked in his life. He was a living witness of the wonders of God's word.

*Beloved, everything changes and turns around at God's word.*

It doesn't matter how bad your case may be today, there is hope for you if you will surrender your life to God through His word and begin to obey what He says.

Make the word of God your greatest companion today, and your story will surely be rewritten. Shalom.

    ACTION STEPS
    1. Locate the scriptures that deals directly with your peculiar case and apply them to your life.
    2. Meditate on them regularly until they become part of your life.
    3. Act on them, speak them over your case until your change becomes obvious.

    PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for today's devotional guide. Open my eyes that I might see wondrous things from your word. And let my own seasons of enjoying your wonders begin in Jesus name. Amen.

    REMEMBER
*When we submit to God's word over our lives, we have submitted to the ultimate in the universe.*

    AUTHOR: JEDIDIAH DAVID

DAILY READING: Isaiah 47-48; Galatians 1-2.

    HYMN
" There shall be showers of blessing " :
    This is the promise of love ;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Saviour above.

Show - - ers of blessing,
    Showers of blessing we need ;
    Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

    2
" There shall be showers of blessing "
    Precious reviving again ;
Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain.

    3
" There shall be showers of blessing " :
Send them upon us, O Lordl
    Grant to us now a refreshing ;
Come, and now honour Thy Word.

    4
" There shall be showers of blessing ":
Oh that to-day they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call !

  • 𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 (𝟖) 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐘 𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐄𝐆𝐆:

We have so many things in life that we can handle with strong hands & they can withstand pressure and force. There are things that are so fragile in nature & anyone who wants to handle them must do so with every carefulness and tenderness. I saw a truck loaded with cartons of Noddles. Two guys were asked to move the cartons of noddles from the truck into a shop. You need to see the throwing and catching prowess of this two guys. One was in the truck throwing the cartons to the one at the entrance of the shop and he was throwing it into the shop. The one in the truck can throw about 3 cartons at a go and the one in the shop will catch it so well. They can do it like that because the noodles in the cartons are not fragile.

They can't handle crates of egg like that when loading from a truck into a shop. It takes extra carefulness and tenderness, if I not ,it will break and that will amount to huge debt and wastages.

Friends, there are things we also must carry and handle with extra- carefulness because these things are fragile and once broken, it is not easy to put back together and once some of these things get broken, they can lead to huge damage and destiny wastage.
Let me mention 8 of those things you must carry /handle with carefulness as if you are carrying a crate of eggs.

    1. 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄: Your name is very important and fragile. There are names that stink in the ears of people simply because, those who bear those names spoilt the names. The way to handle your name with carefulness is to be careful of your doings. Your actions can rubbish your name. A good name can open doors for you & for your children and generations after you. The Bible says ' A good name is better than precious ointment...' ( Ecclesiastes 7:1). When your name is mentioned anywhere, like in your office, at home, church, on social media like Facebook, Twitter, IG, etc. What comes to people's minds? Carry your name with carefulness. It is a huge asset. Read one of the quotes written by Shakespeare. 'Who steals my purse steals trash; 'tis something, nothing; 'Twas mine, 'tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good name
Robs me of that which not enriches him,
    And makes me poor indeed'.

2: 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓: Many hearts are broken, shattered, wounded and bitter today. One of the factors responsible for this is because many of this heart owners were careless with their hearts. You can guard your heart from being broken and bitter. Run away from people, and things that are bent on breaking your heart. Carry your heart like a crate of eggs. You need a whole heart before you can be said to be fully whole!

    3. 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐖𝐈𝐅𝐄 : When you put too much pressure on your wife, you will 'break' her. ' Likewise ye husbands, dwell with your wife according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel...' ( I Peter 3:7)
Handle your wife with carefulness and tenderness. Let tenderness flow in your manliness. Don't be wicked to your wife. Carry her like a Queen. She's stron, powerful and wise, yet, she needs to be protected, cared for and handle like a crate of eggs. Treat her like that.

4: 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐄: Your purpose is your destiny. If you don't handle it with utmost carefulness, it can slip off your hands and gaze and get broken. So many things can come like pressure on this 'crate of egg of purpose'. Discouragement, lack of fund, delayed Breakthrough, etc. These are things that may want to come like pressure on your purpose to break it. Don't allow it! Carry it with care. Carry your purpose away from people and things that may want to put pressure on it and break it.

5: 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇: You have only this body as a vehicle that will carry you throughout your journey of destiny in this life. Handle your health with carefulness. No matter how big your vision is, once you are dead, nobody can really run the vision like you!

Fight for your health. Avoid things that can destroy your health. Wealth is useless when your health becomes useless. Don't kill yourself before your time. Do your best to stay alive. We still need you here. Don't use your fork and your spoon to dig your grave. Watch what you eat. Always pray for divine immunization against sickness and diseases.

    6. 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐆𝐄.: So many people handle their marriage like a carton of noddles. Let me remind you sir/ma. Your marriage is fragile. Handle it like a crate of egg. It must not break! A broken marriage is not easily put back together, because, when a marriage breaks, many things get broken with it. Husband and wife, please, carry your marriage like an egg. It must not break!

7: 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒. : Your worth is attached to your words. Be careful with words. Once broken, you can't gather it up again. Many people are careless with their words. They speak violently. They make empty promises and break it. Some say things they later wish they never said. Guard your words. Be careful with it.

8: 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘: Those who are running up and down to fulfill destiny here on earth without thinking of their eternity are not wise! Hear what the Bible says ' Oh that they were wise, that they understood this, they would have considered their latter end! ( Duet 32:29). Friends, the matter of eternity is not something you should handle with levity. Think about where you will spend eternity. You will die one day. I will also die one day. All that we are and have in this world are vanity upon vanity. Take the matter of your end very serious. Stop living carelessly as if you have extra life. Think about eternity. Don't live for the pleasure of this present moment alone. If you miss heaven, you will cry!

I believe someone here is blessed with this. You can share it to bless others. (don't plagiarize it )

    Thanks for reading.

  • “6 THINGS MEN WHO NEVER SIMP UNDERSTAND (THAT SIMPS WILL NEVER GET)”

Some of you think you’re “nice guys.”

    Nah, bro—you’re a SIMP.

    Always chasing, begging, paying, pleading…
And still not getting what you want.

But there’s a class of men who NEVER go through that humiliation.

Let me tell you the 6 codes those men live by.

    BRUTAL THREAD:

    1. “ATTENTION IS CURRENCY—NEVER SPEND IT FOOLISHLY”
A non-simp knows: the more you give a woman unnecessary attention, the less she values it.

Simps? Always double texting, calling 10 times, replying stories in 2 seconds.

Real men? They respond, not chase.
They’re BUSY. They don’t overinvest attention.

Result? Women respect them because their attention is rare.

    2. “A MAN WHO WORSHIPS A WOMAN CAN NEVER LEAD HER”
A non-simp knows: once you place her on a pedestal, you’ve put yourself under her feet.

Simps? “My queen,” “You’re my world,” “I’m nothing without you.”

Bro… even SHE will start believing you’re beneath her.

Real men? They love, but they don’t worship.
They admire, but they don’t lose frame.

Women can only follow men they respect, not men who beg.

    3. “A MAN WHO CAN’T WALK AWAY HAS ALREADY LOST POWER”
    A non-simp understands:
The power to walk away is the power to lead.

    Simps?
“I’ll do anything to keep her.”
    “She’s all I have.”
    “I can’t live without her.”

    Bro, you’ve surrendered your balls.

Real men? They’re ready to walk away if respect is lost.
They know: staying where you’re not valued is self-abuse.

    4. “YOUR MONEY MUST SERVE YOUR MISSION—NOT HER EMOTIONS”
A non-simp’s money builds himself first.

    Simps?
    “Babe needs money.”
    “Babe wants hair.”
    “Babe’s rent is due.”

Their account balance = ATM for her lifestyle.

Real men? They fund purpose, not parasitism.

They help, but they never cripple their finances to sponsor a princess lifestyle.

    5. “A MAN WHO CHASES WOMEN HAS NO TIME TO BUILD KINGDOMS”
A non-simp knows: the more you chase, the more you waste time.

    Simps are marathon runners:
    From one DM to another.
    From one date to another.

Meanwhile… kings are busy building empires.
    Money. Power. Value.

    And guess what?
    Women chase men who build.

    6. “A WOMAN MUST QUALIFY FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP—NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND”
    A non-simp doesn’t audition for women’s approval.

    Simps?
    “Do you like me now?”
    “Am I good enough?”
    “Please give me a chance.”

Bro… why are you applying for a job you created?

    Real men?
    They ARE the prize.
    Their standards select.

A woman must qualify to sit beside him, not the other way around.

    BOTTOM LINE:

If you’re still simping, you’re living life upside down.

    Stop chasing validation.
    Stop funding entitlement.
    Stop surrendering power.

    Start building YOU.
    Respect flows from strength.

Women don’t follow men who beg.
    They follow men who lead.

If this post burns you—it’s because you need it.

  • *27 WAYS TO BUILD A HAPPY AND LONG LASTING MARRIAGE *

Marriage is a beautiful and fulfilling relationship that requires commitment, love, and sacrifice.

No matter what culture you belong to, what religion you believe, what society, level of wealth, or era you live in – one thing common to all people is that they want to be "happy", especially in their marriages.

    What Should you do?

    1. Love the person you married, not the person you hoped you married. Accept your spouse totally. You cannot love a man/woman you do not accept. Stop comparing your spouse with anyone, he or she can never be somebody else. Until you accept your spouse, you can't get the best out of your marriage

    2. Understand each other. No marriage succeeds without understanding. Learn to know one another as best as you can. Understand you are not the same and may never be. Respect that you are both individuals. Get to know each other strengths and weaknesses. Strengthen each other's weaknesses.

    3. Be quick to forgive and quicker to apologize. Love forgives. Learn to accept apology. Freely forgive your spouse’s past, present and future offenses. Never refer to his/her past mistakes. Never go to bed with anger or unsettled quarrel. Marriage is two forgivers living together.

    4. Ask your spouse, "What can I do for you today?" every single day.

    5. Never talk bad about your spouse to other people. Protect him or her and always keep his or her name safe. Fight for each other, not with each other.

    6. Have lots of s*x. Enjoy S*x with your spouse. Never withhold s*x as a punishment.

    7. Keep the word "divorce" out of your vocabulary. Remember your vows. Review them on a regular basis.

    8. Provide for the needs of your spouse and children. Never be stingy to your spouse. Care for his/her needs. Be generous to him/her. Pay your children’s school fees promptly and regularly. Marriage is not 50/50. It's 100/100. Give yourself entirely, and don't hold back. Men, Be sensitive to your wife’s needs. Spend money to beautify her.

    9. Be faithful to your spouse. Being unfaithful is the easiest way to completely ruin your marriage. Adultery kills.

    10. Understand and learn each other's love language. Either it can be words, gifts, touch, actions, etc. If it is words, then frequently tell your spouse you love and appreciate him/ her. If it is action: regularly do things that they appreciate: either take the garbage out, wash the dishes, cook the food, wash the car, etc
Spoil each other. Keep track of the things your spouse loves and buy them for him or her.

    11. Communication is the key to a relationship. Talk like friends and lovers. Don’t make your spouse guess what you are thinking or feeling. Don't expect him/her to read your mind. You should feel free to discuss all things without fear.

    12. Always listen attentively to your spouse. Switch off your phone or television, shut down your computer or iPad and newspapers, books and magazine should be closed. The greatest communication skill you can develop is the listening skill. Be quiet and patient while he/she is speaking, when he/she is done, you can express your opinion. Look straight into his/her eyes when he is talking to you or when you’re talking to him. This will make him/her feel that you are interested in what he/she wants to say.

    13. Love, respect and courtesy are basic ingredients of happy married life. Give them generously to your spouse. Show your spouse how much you love, care and appreciate him/her regularly. Say, "I love you," every single day.

    21. Aim to do something at least once per week together. It does not matter what, even if it is to eat together, bath together, watch movies together, read books together and share light conversation

    22. Do NOT look at other marriages and covet. No marriage is prefect. Remember, the grass is not greener on the other side. You will still have to maintain, mow and weed that side too!

    23. Work at your marriage. If you ever lack motivation for your marriage and feel like the flame has gone dead. Just try to imagine yourself without your spouse. Talk to anyone who has lost their soul mate and they'll tell you that they will give anything to have back that special someone.

Remember, it is your marriage and you have come this far. Make the best of it. Pledge to yourself that you will do your part and try your best. Remember that you chose your spouse for forever.

    24. All issues need to have a solution and be resolved at the time of the conversation. Finish what you start otherwise things just hang in the balance, which leads to future problems.

    25. Don't make mountains out of mole hills. Don't waste your time fighting over little things. It's not worth it. Let small things go.

    26. Don't broadcast your problems to everyone else. If you need to talk to someone about it, other than your spouse, get a therapist.

    27. Above all: Serve God together, Pray together & Pray for one another. Pray for your spouse daily in your personal prayers. Be specific. Talk to God about his or her challenges and trials, and ask Him what you can do to be a better spouse.

You will not fail in your marriage in Jesus name

    *TODAY IN HISTORY*

    * On this day in 1998, General Sani Abacha, a military head of state of Nigeria, died in Aso Rock Villa, Abuja. On November 17, 1993, Abacha became head of state when he overthrew the Ernest Shonekan-led interim national government set in place by General Ibrahim Babangida on August 26, 1993, after Babangida annulled the 1993 presidential which billionaire MKO Abiola won.

    * On this day in 1949, George Orwell published ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four’. Orwell’s nightmarish description of a totalitarian society set in the year 1984 is a significant work of English literature and popular novel. The phrase, Big Brother is watching you, stems from this work.

ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ON THE IGBO:
    Clearing the Basic Confusions Honestly

*Question: Is Southeast and Igboland the same thing?*

*Answer* : Not at all. Southeast is only about 3/5th of Igboland. Igboland covers the whole of Southeast, parts of Rivers, Delta, Edo, Cross river, Benue, Kogi, and Akwa Ibom states.

*Question: Why were we taught in school that Igbo people are easterners?*

*Answer* : It is both an unfortunate parroting by teachers and careless adoption by Igbo educated class. Igbo people come from Southern Nigeria and not Eastern Nigeria. It may be correct to say that the Igbo are found predominantly in eastern Nigeria. However, by saying that the Igbo are easterners, the implication is that the Igbo in western Nigeria, numbering about 2.5 million (Agbor, Ogwashi Ukwu, Ibuzo, Okpanam, Asaba, Orimili, Ndokwa, Anioma, etc) are not Igbos. The best-known Igbo anthropologist Professor Mike Onwuejeogwu is from the western part of Nigeria, Chukwuma Nzeogwu, Dennis Osadebe, Okonkwo Adibe (the famous musician), Sony Odogwu, etc. are all from the western part of Nigeria. They are no less Igbo than those who live in the eastern part of Nigeria. The correct answer to your question is “the Igbo come from Southern Nigeria.”

*Question: Why do some Igbo refer to themselves as “core Igbo?”*

*Answer:* That is clearly arrant nonsense. Nobody is core and others peripheral. All Igbo are the same. It is both arrogant, thoughtless, and insensitive for anybody to regard others as marginal.

    *Question: Is Igboland landlocked?*

*Answer:* Not at all. Igboland stretches from Port Harcourt to Agbor. The Atlantic ocean washes the shores of Igboland at the islands Opobo and Bonny, Africa’s second largest river – River Niger, traverses Igboland with one part of Igboland in the east and another part in the west of Nigeria. Oguta Lake has the potential to accommodate large ships and could be made a navigable port. If Igboland is landlocked, then all Nigeria is landlocked.

*Question: Is there oil in Igboland?*

*Answer:* Yes, indeed. There is a lot of oil & and gas in Imo, Abia, and currently in Anambra states and Igbo areas in Rivers and Delta States. Besides, Igboland has many other natural resources, including coal, iron ore, limestone, lead, zinc, brine, glass, etc.

*Question: Are the Igbo a nation or a tribe?*

*Answer:* The Igbo is a nation and a very large one. There are many dialects or tribes in Igbo nation, just like you have many tribes within Israel.

*Question: Why do some Ikwerre people and other non southeastern Igbo say they are not Igbo?*

*Answer:* First, it is not up to them to say what they are and what they are not. When God created them, He did not ask them who they wanted to be. He just created them Igbo. The only way you’ll know who belongs to what ethnic group in Nigeria is the name and what language the name comes from. Anybody whose name is Amadi or Onyeri, or Eke, or Odili, Wanodi (Nwanodi) does not need to tell you who he is. He is Igbo, notwithstanding their politics.

*Question: But they claim that their language is Ikwerre, not Igbo.*

*Answer:* That is politics. Ikwerre is a dialect of Igbo language. Just like an Ngwa man speaks Ngwa Igbo, Arochukwu speaks Arochukwu Igbo, Ika speaks Ika Igbo, Ibani speak Ibani Igbo etc.

*Question: Some people say that Igbo language is not complete, is it true?*

*Answer:* No language is complete. All languages borrow from each other. Igbo language is very rich. It has inexhaustible and rich linguistic features like idioms, proverbs, aphorisms, sayings, anecdotes, riddles, folklores, etc. Igbo language is one of the major languages of the world, being spoken by millions of people.

*Question: How many are the Igbo?*

*Answer:* The Igbo are very numerous. There is an educated guess that if Nigeria’s census is properly enumerated, the Igbo could easily be the largest ethnic group in the country. They may number up to 40 million. Everything right now is speculation. Nobody knows the true stratification or ethnic populations in Nigeria. The Igbo are the only ethnic group found in large numbers everywhere in Nigeria and foreign countries more than any other ethnic group in Africa.

*Question: Do the Igbo have a culture of their own?*

*Answer:* Yes, indeed. Igbo culture is perhaps one of the richest and all-encompassing cultures in this world. Igbo culture always observes the temporal and the spiritual aspects of cosmology. The study of Igbo culture reveals that it is extremely deep and original.

*Question: Why do the Igbo wear Yoruba Agbada and Hausa babban riga, but the Yoruba and the Hausa do not ever wear Igbo national dress?*

*Answer* : Unfortunately, this is the case. The Igbo have very attractive and resplendent national dresses. And they come in assortments that are extremely dignifying. The Igbo take up foreign cultures more readily than other Nigerians, and they seem not to care that nobody reciprocates their carefree attitude to life. Most ethnics promote their cultures and show off what makes them unique. Actually, it is still the same so-called educated Igbo class who behave in such disgraceful and devil-may-care attitudes.

*Question: Why do the Igbo call themselves Biafrans?*

*Answer:* Great question. Some people have the idea that Biafra originates from the Bight of Biafra. But that is wrong. Biafra was the National name of Igboland given to Igbo by the Portuguese, just as Nigeria was named by the English of Britain. There was the Kingdom of Biafra that ruled most of the ancient subtropical Africa about 50,000 years ago. Unfortunately, nobody talks about it, for whatever reason (maybe because Portugal lost the colony right of Biafra to Britain who buried it, in other to promote Nigeria amalgamation), "I do not know". But, it is in the ancient maps of the world. If you wish, search it in Google.

*Question: Were the Igbo also taken into slavery during the slave trade?*

*Answer:* Yes. The Igbo slaves themselves gave account of their travails in slavery. Olauda Ekwuano, an Igbo ex-slave who bought his freedom in Britain, was the first slave to write about his experience in slavery. His book has become a classic. You ought to find it and read it. Also, other Igbos who were brought to America revolted, and some walked back on water and were said to have returned to Africa. Several books have been written about them. One of such books is “Ibo Landing.” It is available in bookstores like Barnes & Noble. In Haiti, the Igbo settled there and refused to be colonized by anybody. There are many places where the Igbo left their mark or their signature.

*Question: How did the Igbo know days and years?*

*Answer:* The Igbo invented an accurate, if not the most accurate, calendar called “Iguafo Igbo (Igbo Calendar).” In Igbo calendar, there are four market days – Eke, Afor, Nkwo, Orie that make one week. Four days make one week, seven weeks make one month, and thirteen months make one year. There are 28 days for each month, with the last month having 29 days. Each month starts the same day as the previous. Igbo calendar forms the perfect astronomical alignment with the cosmos and regulates the seasons, agriculture, navigation, astrology, geography, mathematics, travel, etc.

*Question: Did the Igbo have their own alphabet?*

*Answer:* Yes, indeed. It is called “Nsibidi.”

*Question: How about mathematics; did the Igbo know mathematics?*

*Answer:* Yes, indeed. There are such inventions as “Okwe” and “Mkpisi” which the Igbo used to resolve figures.

*Question: Did the Igbo know anything about banking?*

*Answer:* Yes. Igbo banking was more in the nature of savings and loans. The authentic Igbo savings and loans invention is called “Isusu’ in which contributions are pooled each week, and one person who has the need, collects, is still in practice. Igbo slaves took this invention to the Caribbean Islands, where they still practice it and call it “Sue Sue.”

*Question: Some people say that Igboland is too small for the Igbo, that they have no alternative than to live as Nigerians: is this true?*

*Answer:* False. Igboland is a large country. Do every Igbo need to stay and work in Igboland? No. Everywhere in the world, some will stay home while others venture abroad in search of opportunities. Igboland is large enough for the Igbo. It is a very rich and hospitable part of the world. It has rich soil for agriculture, abundant rainfall, good sunshine, and table land in many parts. Its land space and population are more than that of over half of the present countries in the world.

*Question: Where did the Igbo come from?*

*Answer:* That question is still being asked. There are very intriguing theories or histories now being studied. You may have heard of the Jewish angle & the Egypt angle which are connected, and the Origin of man angle. This twenty-first century, hopefully, will resolve the mystery.

Let every Igbo read and pass this educational piece to our children. Culled from Chike Ofilli. ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ON THE IGBO: Clearing the Basic Confusions Honestly *Question: Is Southeast and Igboland the same thing?* *Answer* : Not at all. Southeast is only about 3/5th of Igboland. Igboland covers the whole of Southeast, parts of Rivers, Delta, Edo, Cross river, Benue, Kogi, and Akwa Ibom states. *Question: Why were we taught in school that Igbo people are easterners?* *Answer* : It is both an unfortunate parroting by teachers and careless adoption by Igbo educated class. The correct answer to your question is “the Igbo come from Southern Nigeria.” *Question: Why do some Igbo refer to themselves as “core Igbo?”* *Answer:* That is clearly arrant nonsense. Nobody is core and others peripheral. All Igbo are the same. It is both arrogant, thoughtless, and insensitive for anybody to regard others as marginal. *Question: Is Igboland landlocked?* *Answer:* Not at all. *Question: Is there oil in Igboland?* *Answer:* Yes, indeed. There is a lot of oil & and gas in Imo, Abia, and currently in Anambra states and Igbo areas in Rivers and Delta States. Besides, Igboland has many other natural resources, including coal, iron ore, limestone, lead, zinc, brine, glass, etc. *Question: Are the Igbo a nation or a tribe?* *Answer:* The Igbo is a nation and a very large one. There are many dialects or tribes in Igbo nation, just like you have many tribes within Israel. *Question: Why do some Ikwerre people and other non southeastern Igbo say they are not Igbo?* *Answer:* First, it is not up to them to say what they are and what they are not. *Question: But they claim that their language is Ikwerre, not Igbo.* *Answer:* That is politics. Ikwerre is a dialect of Igbo language. Just like an Ngwa man speaks Ngwa Igbo, Arochukwu speaks Arochukwu Igbo, Ika speaks Ika Igbo, Ibani speak Ibani Igbo etc. *Question: Some people say that Igbo language is not complete, is it true?* *Answer:* No language is complete. *Question: How many are the Igbo?* *Answer:* The Igbo are very numerous. *Question: Do the Igbo have a culture of their own?* *Answer:* Yes, indeed. Igbo culture is perhaps one of the richest and all-encompassing cultures in this world. Igbo culture always observes the temporal and the spiritual aspects of cosmology. The study of Igbo culture reveals that it is extremely deep and original. *Question: Why do the Igbo wear Yoruba Agbada and Hausa babban riga, but the Yoruba and the Hausa do not ever wear Igbo national dress?* *Answer* : Unfortunately, this is the case. *Question: Why do the Igbo call themselves Biafrans?* *Answer:* Great question. *Question: Were the Igbo also taken into slavery during the slave trade?* *Answer:* Yes. The Igbo slaves themselves gave account of their travails in slavery. Olauda Ekwuano, an Igbo ex-slave who bought his freedom in Britain, was the first slave to write about his experience in slavery. DATE: SUNDAY 8TH JUNE 2025

    The Bible puts it this way;
Psalms 138:2 "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name."

    This is the promise of love ;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Saviour above.

Show - - ers of blessing,
    Showers of blessing we need ;
    Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

    2
" There shall be showers of blessing "
    Precious reviving again ;
Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain.

    3
" There shall be showers of blessing " :
Send them upon us, O Lordl
    Grant to us now a refreshing ;
Come, and now honour Thy Word.

    4
" There shall be showers of blessing ":
Oh that to-day they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call !

  • She was drowning.
    And nobody noticed…
    Nobody, except her.

It was June 2022, at the World Championships in Budapest.
Anita Álvarez, an American artistic swimmer with Mexican roots, was performing a flawless routine.
But when her performance ended… she didn’t come up for air.

    She had lost consciousness.
Her body floated for a few seconds, then began to sink.
Slowly. All the way to the bottom of the pool.

The audience didn’t notice. Neither did the judges.
    Everyone was clapping.

But her coach, Andrea Fuentes, noticed.
She knew Anita—knew exactly how long it took her to surface.
She felt in her heart that something was wrong.

Without thinking twice, she dove in.
    Fully dressed. Shoes and all.

She swam straight down, grabbed Anita by the waist,
    and brought her back up.
    She saved her life.

    This story left me thinking…

Who knows you well enough to notice when you’re not okay, even if you’re still smiling?
Who would dive in for you without hesitation when you no longer have the strength to come up for air?

    And more importantly…

Would you be that person for someone else?
Are you present enough in your loved ones’ lives to sense the moment they start to sink?
Or are you just another spectator, clapping, not realizing that inside, they’re fading?

In this life, we all need someone who doesn’t just see us—
    but truly notices us.
Someone who knows when we’re about to give up,
and has the courage to jump in and save us. YNWA.....
