Peter Obi: “₦210 Trillion Missing — Nigeria Is Officially a Crime Scene”

In a startling critique of Nigeria’s financial landscape, former presidential candidate Peter Obi has once again sounded the alarm on rampant corruption. This time, he’s reacting to the Senate’s shocking disclosure of ₦210 trillion in discrepancies found in the NNPC’s audited accounts from 2017 to 2023.

According to the Senate report, the figures are staggering:

₦103 trillion listed as "accrued expenses", ₦107 trillion in unaccounted "receivables"

And the worst part? There’s no documentation, no explanations, and absolutely no accountability.

Obi didn’t hold back, stating, “This isn’t just another scandal — it’s proof that Nigeria has turned into a cr!me scene.”

To put things into perspective, the entire national budget from 2017 to 2023 was only ₦88 trillion — that’s less than half of what’s been lost or mishandled by a single state-owned entity.

“This is a crim!nal, institutionalized betrayal of the Nigerian people,” Obi declared. “No responsible nation operates this way. This is crim!nality disguised as governance.”

He emphasized that unless Nigeria tackles this deep-rooted corruption, the future of our children will remain at risk.

His parting message?

“A new Nigeria is POssible. But only if we dismantle the rot.”

Breaking News: Opposition Coalition Unveils New Party to Unseat Tinubu in 2027, Names It “All Democratic Alliance”

A major political development is brewing ahead of the 2027 general elections as a coalition of opposition figures has unveiled a new political party, the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), with the goal of unseating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The new party was officially announced after a strategic meeting held in Abuja by the National Opposition Coalition Group, chaired by former Senate President, Senator David Mark. The coalition said the formation of the ADA is part of a broader plan to mobilize Nigerians and provide a viable alternative to the current administration.

Chief Akin A. Ricketts was named interim Chairman, while Abdullahi Musa Elayo was appointed interim National Secretary of the ADA.

According to a communiqué made available to the media, the coalition set up a 15-man New Platform Committee tasked with securing office accommodation, opening a bank account, and completing the formal registration process with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Baba Ijesha, whose real name is Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, was a well-known Yoruba actor in the Nigerian movie industry. He had a reputation for playing comic and street-wise roles, which made him popular among fans. However, his career and public image took a massive downturn in 2021 when he became involved in a serious ch!ld m0lestation scandal that shook Nollywood and the entire Nigerian entertainment space.

The controversy started when Nigerian comedienne, Princess (whose real name is Damilola Adekoya), accused Baba Ijesha of $exually m0lesting her 14-year-0ld foster daughter. According to Princess, the abuse had been going on for years but wasn’t initially known. She later claimed that the girl opened up about the abuse, which prompted Princess to set up a CCTV trap to catch him in the act. The footage reportedly showed Baba Ijesha engaging in inappropriate behavior with the min0r when he visited Princess’s home.

The video evidence sparked public outrage. Many Nigerians were angered, especially because of the age of the victim and the fact that Baba Ijesha was caught on video. Actress Iyabo Ojo was one of the most vocal celebrities who stood with Princess and demanded justice. Iyabo Ojo took to social media several times to condemn Baba Ijesha and called out those in the film industry who were trying to defend him. Her consistent outspokenness caused friction within Nollywood, as some colleagues accused her of using the case for clout, but she stood her ground.

The matter was taken to court, and Baba Ijesha was charged with several counts related to $exual assault and lndecent treatment of a chiId. During the trial, Princess testified in court and stood firm in her accusations, insisting she only wanted justice for her foster daughter. Despite the legal battles and the emotional trauma the case brought, both Princess and Iyabo Ojo remained committed to seeing the case through.

Eventually, in July 2022, the court found Baba Ijesha guilty on four out of the six charges brought against him, including $exual assault and attempted $exual assault of a chiId. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. The ruling brought a mix of reactions—relief from those who supported the victim, and disappointment from his fans and those who once respected him.

The case highlighted the importance of protecting minors from abuse and sparked broader conversations in Nigeria about child safety, celebrity culture, and accountability. For Baba Ijesha, the scandal marked a fall from grace that not only ended his acting career but also left a permanent stain on his legacy.
