• If I’ve learned anything from life, it’s that sometimes the darkest times can bring us to the brightest places. I’ve learned that the most toxic people can teach us the most important lessons; that our most painful struggles can grant us the most necessary growth; and that the most heart-breaking losses of friendship and love can make room for the most wonderful people.

    I’ve learned that what seems like a curse in the moment can actually be a blessing, and that what seems like the end of the road is actually just the discovery that we are meant to travel down a different path.

    I’ve learned that no matter how difficult things seem, there is always hope. And I’ve learned that no matter how powerless we feel or how horrible things seem we can’t give up.

    We have to keep going. Even when it’s scary, even when all of our strength seems gone, we have to keep picking ourselves back up and moving forward, because whatever we’re battling in the moment, it will pass, and we will make it through.

    We’ve made it this far. We can make it through whatever comes next.....

  • Muslim Navigators: Who Sailed the Oceans Before Columbus?

    Long before the European “Age of Discovery” Muslim explorers were already charting the seas, documenting coastlines, and advancing the science of navigation.

    Ahmad ibn Majid

    A legendary Arab navigator and seafarer of the 15th century, often called “The Lion of the Sea.” He authored detailed manuals on maritime navigation, including the famous “Book of Useful Information on the Principles and Rules of Navigation.”

    Ibn Battuta

    One of the greatest Muslim travelers in history, who journeyed across more than 40 countries, from North Africa to China, India to the Maldives. His travel logs offer unmatched insights into the geography, cultures, and faiths of the medieval world.

    Suleiman al-Tajir

    A 9th-century merchant and explorer. Among the first to describe China in detail, he also documented maritime routes across the Indian Ocean and the thriving Arab trade networks.

    These men were not just explorers — they were seekers of knowledge, driven by faith and a desire to benefit the Ummah. Their legacy in geography and seafaring continues to inspire today.

    Alhamdulillah!

  • *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

    DATE: FRIDAY 18TH JULY 2025

    THEME: *THE BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN TONGUES.* (PART ONE)

    MEMORIZE
    1 Corinthians 14:4
    He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

    READ
    1 Corinthians 14:1-2, 4-5, 15, 18
    Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
    For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
    He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
    I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
    What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
    I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
    *Praying in the Spirit is connecting with the Holy Spirit to take delivery of all our redemptive packages in God.*

    MESSAGE
    One of the initial evidences of being filled with the Holy Spirit is the prayer language which is popularly known as speaking in tongues or praying in the Spirit. The energy imparted by the Holy Spirit through this gift is awesome, as it helps us connect with God in prayers and worship. It spiritually refreshes, edifies and comforts beyond words. It is amazing how you can be strengthened to pray for hours without being tired when you are online with God through the prayer language.

    The spiritual benefits of praying in tongues are simply amazing and wonderful.
    Whenever we pray in the Spirit, we pray accurately because we are praying from the Spirit's stand, hence the prayer points come directly from the Spirit Himself, making it impossible for you to pray amiss.
    When we pray in the Spirit, we connect faster to the realm of God to receive all that belongs to us in God.
    The Bible puts it this way:
    1 Corinthians 2:9-12
    "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
    But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
    For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
    Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God."

    It is also interesting to note that the benefits of praying in tongues is not only limited to the spirit alone, it also has an amazing physical health benefits as well.

    A medical doctor of high repute, both in his field and in the Christian faith, from ORAL ROBERT UNIVERSITY made a very startling and amazing discovery of what happens when we use the "Prayer language" popularly known as "speaking with other tongues".
    Being a Neurologist, he discovered while conducting a research on the relationship between the brain and praying or speaking in tongues. His discovery was that; whenever we worship or pray in the Spirit, the brain releases two chemical secretions that are directed into our immune system. This promotes healing within our bodies. Amazingly, this secretion is triggered from a part of the brain that has no other apparent activity in human being and is only activated by our spirit led prayer and worship.

    This brings to mind the scriptures which says; we were made by the power of the Holy Spirit in creation. And the one who made us also knows how we were wired and what we need to function optimally. It is so soothing and encouraging that spiritual exercise also brings physical, bodily refreshing and rejuvenation. So whenever you are fatigued spiritually, mentally,emotionally and physically, learn to come to the Lord in prayer and worship for our complete package of spirit soul and body refreshment and restoration. Little wonder the Lord Jesus said, "come unto me, all you that Labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

    *Hence forth, consciously involve yourself in praying in the Spirit with the intension to connect with the Holy Spirit to enable you take full delivery of your redemptive packages in God.*

    May you find rest on every side as you worship and pray in the Spirit henceforth in Jesus name. Shalom.

    ACTION STEPS
    1. Spend time to pray and worship in the Spirit for at least 10minutes before rushing to work today.
    2. Plan to spend at least one hour daily praying in tongues to sensitise and edify yourself.
    3. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you spiritually.

    PRAYERS
    Dear heavenly Father, Thank you for today's devotional guide. Oh God of restoration, restore and revive my prayer life today. Set me on fire for you now and always in Jesus' name. Amen.

    HYMN
    Come, Holy Ghost, in love,
    Shed on us from above
    Thine own bright ray :
    Divinely good Thou art ;
    Thy sacred gifts impart
    To gladden each sad heart :
    Oh, come to-day !

    2
    Come, tenderest Friend and best,
    Our most delightful Guest,
    With soothing power :
    Rest, which the weary know ;
    Shade, 'mid the noontide glow;
    Peace, when deep griefs o'erflow :
    Cheer us this hour.

    3
    Come, Light serene and still,
    Our inmost bosoms fill ;

    Dwell in each breast !
    We know no dawn but Thine ;
    Send forth Thy beams divine.
    On our dark souls to shine,
    And make us blest.

    4
    Exalt our low desires,
    Extinguish passion's fires,
    Heal every wound ;
    Our stubborn spirits bend,
    Our icy coldness end,
    Our devious steps attend
    While heavenward bound.

    5
    Come, all the faithful bless :
    Let all who Christ confess
    His praise employ ;
    Give virtue's rich reward ;
    Victorious death accord,
    And, with our glorious Lord,
    Eternal joy.

  • CHOLESTEROL BREAKTHROUGH: Scientists Discover an "Off Switch" That Could Save Millions of Lives!

    THE HIDDEN ENEMY

    High cholesterol silently affects over 94 million American adults, leading to heart disease, stroke, and countless preventable deaths. For decades, doctors have relied on statins and lifestyle changes to manage cholesterol levels. But now scientists have discovered something that could change everything - a molecular "kill switch" that could keep cholesterol and disease in check.

    THE GAME-CHANGING DISCOVERY

    Researchers have identified a specific enzyme in our bodies that acts like a master control switch for cholesterol production. This enzyme quietly works behind the scenes, and when it's overactive, it can make us much sicker than we realize. By learning how to control this biological switch, scientists believe they can dramatically reduce cholesterol levels more effectively than ever before.

    REVOLUTIONARY TREATMENT POTENTIAL

    Unlike traditional cholesterol medications that need to be taken daily for life, this discovery could lead to treatments that work at the cellular level to naturally regulate cholesterol production. Early research shows that targeting this molecular switch could provide longer-lasting results with fewer side effects than current treatments.

    THE LIFESAVING IMPACT

    Heart disease remains the leading cause of death globally, killing more people than cancer. If scientists can successfully develop treatments based on this "off switch" discovery, it could prevent millions of heart attacks and strokes worldwide. This breakthrough represents a fundamental shift from managing cholesterol to actually controlling how our bodies produce it.

    WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE FUTURE

    While still in research phases, this discovery opens doors to completely new approaches for treating not just high cholesterol, but potentially other metabolic diseases as well. We might be looking at the beginning of a new era in cardiovascular medicine where prevention becomes as simple as flipping a biological switch!

  • He died—and no one noticed for nearly 20 years.
    In 2010, police in New York made a haunting discovery. Inside a hoarder's home filled with trash, cobwebs, and decay, they found the fully dressed skeleton of Louis Delarosa—a man no one had seen in nearly two decades.
    His mother, elderly and legally blind, had continued living in the same apartment. She told authorities she believed Louis had simply moved out years ago. But he had never left.
    His remains were found in a small, sealed-off bedroom. Garbage reached waist height. Dust and rot clung to every corner. Neighbors had long reported strange smells, but no one acted.
    The mother, overwhelmed by hoarding disorder and visual impairment, lived among the debris for years without realizing her son was just one room away—dead.
    Authorities believe Louis died in the early 1990s, but without regular contact or anyone checking in, his death went entirely unnoticed. There were no missing person reports. No inquiries. No investigation.
    The case stunned the city. It became a chilling example of what can happen when isolation, mental illness, and neglect converge—quietly, behind closed doors.
    How many others might be lost in silence?
    Had you heard of this case before?
    What does it say about how we look after one another?

  • Dear Parents and Teachers: A Heartfelt Plea on Behalf of Our Daughters…. By Esomnofu Chidiebube Ifechukwu

    If you are a parent—especially of a girl child—please, I beg you, take special care. I am not in any way suggesting that boys don’t deserve our attention; they absolutely do. But let’s be honest: female children mature faster—emotionally, physically, and mentally. And because of that, they often face unique vulnerabilities at a much earlier age.

    I’ve been teaching for over a decade now, and from my earliest years in the classroom, especially in senior secondary school, I observed something deeply troubling. You walk into a class, full of passion and commitment, ready to teach mathematics or any subject—and then, midway into your explanation on indices or algebra, a hand goes up. But instead of a question related to the topic, you hear:

    “Sir, I like your trousers.”
    “You look handsome today.”
    “Are you married?”
    “How old are you?”

    These are not academic questions. They are signs. Signs that these children are at a sensitive stage of self-discovery. Their minds are searching for validation, attention, affection—even if they don’t understand it fully. And without the right guidance, they may seek it in the wrong places.

    That is why parents must be vigilant—not overbearing, but intentionally present. Don’t just buy clothes, pay fees, and think your job is done. Talk to your daughters. Guide them. Warn them. Watch them. Be their safe space.

    And to my fellow male teachers, I speak with a heavy heart: not every compliment is an invitation. Not every glance is a green light. You are not just a teacher of subjects—you are a teacher of values. Be disciplined. Be responsible. These girls are not temptations; they are someone’s daughter, someone’s hope, someone’s entire world. Please, don’t be the one who ruins that world.

    If we fail to mentor these girls with integrity, we risk handing them over to a world that will not be as merciful. Let us raise them with wisdom, not leave them to figure life out through regret.

    Because when a girl child stumbles—especially due to the silence or failure of the adults around her—the scars often last a lifetime.

    Please, let’s do better. For our daughters. For our conscience. For the future.
    Dear Parents and Teachers: A Heartfelt Plea on Behalf of Our Daughters…. By Esomnofu Chidiebube Ifechukwu If you are a parent—especially of a girl child—please, I beg you, take special care. But instead of a question related to the topic, you hear: “Sir, I like your trousers.” “You look handsome today.” “Are you married?” “How old are you?” These are not academic questions.
