• THE NEW CEO

He never looked up. He just polished and returned them."
Her father never knew his name.
But she never forgot his hands.
Until the day the company he once stood outside…
Became the one he walked into — as the boss.

    1996. Lagos Island.

Baba Dauda was a cobbler stationed outside the Afolabi & Sons Corporation — a big construction firm where luxury cars pulled up daily, and security guards barely let him near the building.

But every week, a wealthy man — Chief Afolabi — sent his driver with three pairs of Italian leather shoes.

Dauda would shine, stitch, clean, and polish them until they looked brand new.
    He was never invited in.
    Never tipped.
    Never acknowledged.

    But someone noticed.

Little Adesewa, Chief’s 9-year-old daughter, used to sit in the back of the car watching him work.
She once asked, “Why does he never come inside?”

    Her father replied:
"Because people like that don’t belong in boardrooms."

But Dauda looked up and said:
“Small madam… maybe one day, I’ll fix more than shoes.”

    Adesewa smiled.
    He winked.

    Then life happened.

    The Afolabis moved abroad.
Dauda lost his spot outside the building when the area was demolished.
    Nobody knew where he went.
    Nobody looked for him.

    2024. Victoria Island.

The same company — now renamed Afolabi Global — had fallen into crisis.
    Stocks plummeted. Leadership changed.
They were awaiting their new CEO — a private appointee brought in by international investors to restructure the entire business.

Boardroom filled. Cameras ready. Staff nervous.

    Then the doors opened…

And Mr. Dauda Adekunle walked in — polished suit, grey hair, briefcase in hand.

    Silence.

    Gasps.

    He nodded slowly and said:

“28 years ago, I fixed shoes outside this building.
Today, I’m here to rebuild what was broken inside it.”

    The crowd froze.

And from the corner, Adesewa — now head of PR — stood in tears.

She walked over, hugged him, and whispered:

“You didn’t just fix shoes, Baba. You fixed my view of the world.”

    He didn’t beg.
    He didn’t fight.
    He just worked.

    And while others built offices…
    He built himself.

Now the same hands that once held polish and thread…
    Hold contracts, power, and legacy.

Because sometimes, the person outside the gate…
Was just waiting to own the entire building.

  • Lipid Profile and the Real Root of Heart Trouble

    Let’s break this down:

    Your cholesterol panel includes:
    —Total Cholesterol
    —HDL (the “good” one)
    —LDL (the misunderstood one)
    —Triglycerides

    But here’s the truth:
The most dangerous combo isn’t just “high cholesterol”—
It’s high triglycerides + low HDL.

    Why?
Because HDL’s job is to take excess triglycerides back to the liver for disposal.
When HDL is low, and triglycerides are high—your blood becomes toxic sludge.

    What causes that deadly combo?

FOODS that lower HDL and raise triglycerides:

—Wheat & derivatives: Bread, noodles, pasta, cake
    —Sugary fruits & fruit juice
    —Soda, alcohol, energy drinks
—Refined carbs: Chips, semo, white flour
    —Inflammatory oils:
Canola, Sunflower, Palm olein, Rapeseed, Safflower, Grapeseed, Cottonseed

    Want to fix it?

    REMOVE those foods.

I’ve watched countless patients normalize their lipid panels—in weeks.
    No magic. Just food truth.

    Start here:

    Pick a Protein:
Eggs, Chicken, Lamb, Beef, Pork, Bacon

    Pick a Fat:
Butter, Ghee, Coconut oil, Olive oil, Animal fat (tallow, suet, lard)

    Pick Non-Starchy Vegetables:
Cucumber, Garden egg, Leafy greens, Cruciferous veggies like cabbage or broccoli

    Control Starches:
    Swallows, Rice, Yam, Plantain—moderate them.

Your health is your first wealth.
If you’re serious—start eating like it.

  • *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

    DATE: SATURDAY 14TH JUNE 2025

    THEME: *HIDDEN ACCESS TO WEALTH*

    MEMORIZE
    Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

    READ
    Job 28:20-28
Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.
    For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
*When our relationship with God is intact, He sustains us from His endless abundance and possibilities.*

    MESSAGE
God's word declares that it is He who gives His covenant people the power to get wealth. I have often wondered what this amazing power to get wealth is all about until I saw that Solomon the richest man that ever lived asking for wisdom and along with wisdom came riches and wealth that the world is still talking about till date.

His daily provisions according to the account of 1Kings 4:22-23; sums up to at least over $60,000, it's only very wealthy people that spends such money on food daily.

The source of such must be inexhaustible, if such budget should be sustained or maintained.

Having seen that wisdom is the principal thing, its clear that with wisdom, wealth is a natural sequence that follows.

Every form of lack is traceable to the lack of wisdom.

*Every form of financial issues is a wisdom issue.*

Otherwise, wherever wisdom is found, money results naturally, though with time.

However, wisdom is hidden from all men because all men have fallen from the glory of God. Its the glory of God therefore, to conceal sacred things from fallen humans, and we show our value for hidden stuffs by making ourselves available to search them out.

*Pure wisdom from God is extremely sacred and flows directly from Him into the hearts of those who are undefiled in their relationship with God.*

Pure wisdom connects it's beneficiaries to the secret chambers of God's deepest mysteries, and with such mysteries, we gain masteries over the affairs of life irrespective of the challenges on ground.

Wisdom is more than just the application of knowledge, rather, it is the correct application of the insights gotten from direct fellowship or relationship with God. *When our relationship with God is intact, He sustains us from His endless abundance and possibilities.*

It's simply amazing how God supplies the needs of those who are connected to Him.

    ACTION STEPS
    1. Ask the Lord to purify your heart and soul from every form of pollutions, impurities and unrighteousness.
    2. Love and pursue knowledge with all you have.
    3. Cry after wisdom on daily basis.

    PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for today's devotional guide, I receive the grace to stay connected to you and draw from your limitless wisdom and knowledge for endless possibilities in my life in Jesus name.

    REMEMBER
*When our relationship with God is intact, He sustains us from His endless abundance and possibilities*

    AUTHOR JEDIDIAH DAVID

    DAILY READING: Exodus 21; Psalms 90; Proverbs 6-8; Acts 1; 2Cor 6.

    HYMN
" There shall be showers of blessing " :
    This is the promise of love ;
    There shall be seasons refreshing,
    Sent from the Saviour above.

Show - - ers of blessing,
    Showers of blessing we need ;
    Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

    2
" There shall be showers of blessing "
    Precious reviving again ;
Over the hills and the valleys,
    Sound of abundance of rain.

    3
" There shall be showers of blessing " :
Send them upon us, O Lordl
    Grant to us now a refreshing ;
Come, and now honour Thy Word.

    4
" There shall be showers of blessing ":
Oh that to-day they might fall,
Now as to God we're confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call !

  • *From Mansion to Miracle: How Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi Is Turning His Castle Into a Teaching Hospital for the People*

Health and Education transform a society, a people from obscurity and backwardness to the most saught after much more than any other thing. No one understood this and is putting it into practice more Dr Samuel Maduka Onyishi, the Chancellor of Maduka University and the founder of Peace Mass Transit Group.

He passed through the streets universities of entrepreneurship to build Peace Mass Transit Group into a stable cash cow. He tried setting others up in businesses, but found out that educating the people should be the first priority. He also insisted on doing it through sustainable legacy institutions. After setting up an entrepreneurial University and university college, he has now turned his eyes on health. As we know, health is wealth.

In the area known as Nsukka Economic and Cultural Zone, which cuts across two Senatorial Districts, there is no tertiary health facility, despite hosting University of Nigeria Nsukka. With his strategic entrepreneurial eyes and empathic heart he moves to transform his country home into a Teaching Hospital. Is this possible? Dr Maduka Onyishi is a man who does impossible things quietly.

Let us go to his Amukwa village of Nsukka town, Enugu State where he has a grand estate — what many would call a castle. This majestic building, which was once Dr. Onyishi’s private residence is a reflection of years of hard work and success. Most would have kept it that way, enjoying its beauty and comfort in peace. But Dr. Onyishi has chosen to do something extraordinary: he is transforming his private home and its surrounding buildings into an international multi-specialty hospital designed to serve both the public and the medical students of Maduka University and other medical training institutions.

To make this vision a reality, he acquired 14 additional properties around the vicinity, all in an effort to make sure that this full-scale health care facility was established in his village. Thinking - home, you may call this. This isn’t just renovation, but some new buildings are already rearing their heads. It’s transformation on a massive scale.

And it’s not just about healthcare. Dr. Onyishi intentionally chose the location of the proposed university Teaching Hospital to be in Nsukka urban town, with a clear purpose — to elevate the urban status of Nsukka and drive development in his beloved community.

Yes, his personal castle and other surrounding properties are being converted into a teaching hospital. Renovations are already ongoing and soon, this luxurious property will become a state-of-the-art medical facility, not for the rich, not for the elite, but for the people.

When completed, this teaching hospital is set to become one of the best in the country — a beacon of world-class medical education and accessible healthcare.

At a time when many use wealth to build walls, Dr. Onyishi is using his to build bridges. Instead of adding more zeros to his bank account, he is investing in something far more valuable: human lives. He has openly declared his intention to return most of his wealth to charity, and this hospital is just one part of that promise. He has given it all. A billionaire without a home in his village.

This is more than entrepreneurial philanthropy. This is leadership. This is legacy. This is love in action.

Dr. Samuel Maduka Onyishi is not just building structures. He is building a future where healthcare is accessible, where education is empowering, and where transport is safe and reliable. He is proving that true success is not measured by what you accumulate but by what you give away.

In a country hungry for hope, this is the kind of story we need. It is a story of a man who remembers where he came from. A man who understands that wealth is not just for comfort but for impact.

  • Believe it or not Lagos seaport serves as magnet to almost all the people and industries that are found there. It's like the nectar of a flower which attracts insects. Having said that, Lagos could be replicated in some other states. It might be too burdensome for states to handle alone. The FEDERAL MIGHT works magic because of it's financial capability.
Dubaï that you rightly mentioned was built by the UAE. It's wasn't a sectional project. It was a national undertaking. Singapore on the other hand thrived under one of the global leaders of all time, Lee Kuan Yew whose political will was out of this world.
Our rulers know all this but selfishness has the better part of them. Nigeria could be better if it's wealth is evenly distributed. Our rulers are not sincere.
