  • Troops from the 22nd Armoured Brigade, stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Patigi, Kwara State, have arrested eight suspected kidnappers and rescued two victims during a significant operation.

Lieutenant Stephen Nwankwo, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 22 Brigade in Ilorin, reported this in a statement on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He mentioned that the troops also seized two motorcycles and recovered two spent cartridges from the suspects, who are believed to be part of a kidnapping gang operating in the area.

The coordinated operation was initiated based on credible intelligence.

“In continuation of sustained efforts to rid Kwara State of criminal elements and ensure public safety, troops of 22 Armoured Brigade, deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Patigi, have successfully conducted a coordinated raid on a suspected kidnappers’ enclave,” the statement read.

"Acting on credible intelligence, the troops launched a tactical operation on Saturday, 21 June 2025, targeting a hideout on the outskirts of Latandaji Village in Patigi Local Government Area.

"During the operation, the troops encountered mild resistance but swiftly overpowered the criminals with superior firepower. The raid resulted in the rescue of two kidnap victims, identified as Mr. Amos Moses and Mr. Philip Michael, and the arrest of eight suspected kidnappers.

"However, one individual, Mr. Mohammed Mohammed, sustained gunshot wounds during the exchange of fire and was promptly evacuated to Bachita Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

"A further search of the area led to the recovery of two motorcycles and two expended cartridge shells believed to have been used by the suspects.

"All arrested individuals are currently in military custody undergoing preliminary investigation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution.

"This operation stressed the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the country. Members of the public are encouraged to continue providing timely and actionable intelligence to security agencies as we collectively work to dismantle criminal networks.Travel packages

  • *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

    DATE: MONDAY 23RD JUNE 2025

    THEME: *LOOK UP*

    MEMORIZE
    Luke 21:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

    READ
    Luke 21:28-36
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
    And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
*Watch and pray always and look up because the end is at the door.*

    MESSAGE
When everything fails as surely as they will, men will be compelled to look up.

Looking up is the only direction that seems to be making sense in these last days considering the global confusion amongst the nations.

Uncertainty fills the air over the nations of the world; global leaders are confused as to what next to expect.

However, behind the scenes of the global unrest is the mighty hand of God moving the hand of the clock ticking towards the end of all things.

He is moving swiftly to round up His agenda for the nations and by so doing, He is inadvertently compelling all men to look up, because He alone has all the answers that men are looking desperately for.

These are the days that the knowledge of the LORD is the strength of men.

As the strength of strong men begins to fail, only those who know the LORD will stay strong enough to keep moving.
In today's text, the Lord Jesus Christ using the fig tree, illustrated the timeline of His return to the earth. The fig tree is figurative of the nation of Israel which became a nation in 1948, and the Lord said, that the generation that witnessed the restoration of Israel [the fig tree] shall not pass away until the last prophecy of the end is fulfilled.

We are that generation that saw Israel became a nation again, we are seeing prophecies fulfilled at an alarming rates.

    Therefore, the warning of the Lord Jesus Christ should be taken more seriously than ever;
Luke 21:36 "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."

Beloved, whatever you do and wherever you may be, watch and pray always and look up because the end is at the door...

Most importantly, be sure you have surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ for eternity. Tell everyone that is precious to you that Jesus Christ the King of all kings is coming back.

Turn away from every secret sins, keep yourself pure. keep your relationship with the LORD super tight.

Be prepared to meet the LORD!!!

    Shalom, maranatha!

    ACTION STEPS
    1. Prayerfully meditate on today's devotional guide again.
    2. Be determined to keep your eyes on the LORD always.

  • THE SMART DOG

Max, the smart dog, was playing with his best friend, 4-year-old Timmy, near a lake. Suddenly, Timmy wandered too close to the water's edge and fell in. Max saw his friend struggling to stay afloat and sprang into action. He ran to the water's edge and barked loudly for help, but no one was nearby. Without hesitation, Max jumped into the water and swam out to Timmy. He gently nudged the boy's head above water and paddled back to shore.

Once they reached shallow water, Max pulled Timmy to safety, where he lay coughing up water. Max licked Timmy's face, relieved that his friend was okay. When Timmy's parents arrived, they were amazed by Max's bravery and quick thinking. Max had saved Timmy's life!

From that day on, Max was hailed as a hero, and his bond with Timmy grew even stronger. Max's actions showed that true friendship knows no bounds, and sometimes, it's the furry friends who show us the most love and loyalty.

    Updated: June 19th, 2025

    https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/tesla-asked-delay-robotaxi-launch-by-democratic-texas-lawmakers-2025-06-19/

A group of seven Texas lawmakers, primarily Democratic legislators, have indeed urged Tesla to delay its robotaxi launch in Austin until September 1, 2025. The lawmakers sent a letter to Elon Musk's Tesla, citing concerns about public safety and the need for compliance with new state regulations governing autonomous vehicles.

A robotaxi is a self-driving taxi that uses artificial intelligence and sensors to navigate roads without human intervention. It's like a regular taxi, but instead of a human driver, the vehicle is controlled by computers and sensors.

Imagine calling a taxi, and when it arrives, there's no driver. You get in, and the car takes you to your destination safely and efficiently. That's what a robotaxi is all about!

The new regulations, set to take effect on September 1, would require autonomous vehicles to:
    - *Meet Safety Standards*: Autonomous vehicles would need to adhere to specific safety standards
    - *Register under Texas Law*: Autonomous vehicles would need to be registered according to Texas law
    - *Provide Emergency Interaction Plans*: Autonomous vehicles would need to have plans in place for emergency interactions

The lawmakers believe that delaying the launch until the new regulations are in effect would help build trust in Tesla's autonomous vehicle operations and serve public safety interests. However, Tesla is not legally required to halt its planned launch, which was originally set for June 22, 2025, and was expected to involve 10-20 geofenced vehicles operating continuously.
