• WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND...

Prof. Jubril Aminu was once the VC of University of Maiduguri. During his tenure, there was an Aluta struggle and some students were rusticated.
Four of the rusticated students came to Gani Fawehinmi to challenge the action.
He fought the case to the Supreme Court and won. The students went back to complete their studies.

Later, Gani was arrested over his anti-SAP conference and was flown to Maiduguri, then driven to Gashua. At the Lagos airport, not knowing where he was being taken to by the security men, Gani played a fast one - he told his captors that he wanted to use the toilet.

He got inside the toilet and quickly scribbled on a toilet paper - "To whoever uses this toilet, this is Gani Fawehinmi. I am being flown to an unknown destination by security men. Please, let the world know". He placed it in a conspicuous place, flushed the toilet as if he just used it and came out.

When they got to Maiduguri, they had a brief stop over at the SSS office, where a lady officer offered Gani a cup of coffee.

Gani was hooked on coffee like drug. But this time, the will power of Gani came on. He told the lady officer -"so you people have got information that l can't do without coffee. You think you can poison me? From, today, I stop taking coffee ". That was how he ended his addiction to coffee.

He was later moved to Gashua prison, in a most decrepit cell where he collapsed after some substances were sprayed in the cell.

He was rushed to the University of Maiduguri Teaching hospital. When he regained consciousness, he found a doctor examining him and he protested, asking the doctor not to touch him.

The doctor, not wanting the security men guarding him to hear, he whispered to Gani's ear - "Chief, you are in safe hands. Can't you recognise me? I am....., one of the medical students rusticated whom you fought for our reinstatement. I am now a doctor. So, relax. You are in safe hands".

And that was how Gani's life was saved - reaping from the good deeds he did earlier, which he had forgotten.

    Moral Lesson Of The Story:

Do good always and it shall come back to you.

  • NDLEA seizes cannabis and cocaine concealed in microwaves and lipsticks at Lagos airport.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted significant consignments of drugs concealed in unusual ways.

According to Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesperson, “loud” cannabis hidden inside microwaves imported from Thailand and cocaine embedded in ladies’ lipsticks destined for Guinea were seized.

At Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, NDLEA officers recovered 23 parcels of “loud” cannabis weighing 11.3 kg concealed within new microwaves on an Ethiopian Airlines flight from Bangkok via Addis Ababa.

Ezenwegbu Chike, a suspect, was arrested in connection with the seizure on July 7.

This follows a recent seizure of 420 grams of cocaine hidden in 84 female lipsticks bound for the UK.

On July 11, @ndlea_nigeria operatives intercepted another shipment of cocaine concealed in lipsticks among cargo containing hair attachments and cosmetics heading to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

About 400 grams of cocaine mixed with phenacetin, a cutting agent, were recovered.

  • HOW TO HANDLE FIGHTS IN A RELATIONSHIP....✍🏾

    1. Know that it is normal for two people in love to disagree, offend each other, fall short, or misunderstand each other.

    2. Always remember how much you love and need each other. Remembering this will give you the incentive to resolve any conflict between you two. Don't throw away true love because of a passing storm.

    3. Know each other's temperaments. If you are a hot-tempered person, tell your partner/spouse so that your partner/spouse will prepare incase you spark off. But work on your temper still.

    4. Agree how to handle fights before fights emerge. A nation develops a constitution to guide its operation, partners/spouses agree on what to do to guide in relations.

    5. Don't let the fear of fighting or disagreeing with your partner/spouse keep you two from confronting each other and expressing your feelings.

Too many are tired, bored, frustrated or angry in their relationship/marriage but pretend all is well because they are afraid of talking about heavy and uneasy stuff with their partner. Slowly their relationship/marriage collapses, you can't pretend for long.

    6. Before you confront and blame your partner/spouse, analyze the situation and see if you have played a role in causing the problem.

    7. When a fight between you two is approaching or something happens that inflames tempers, walk away, cool off. Don't talk in anger. Cool down then talk rationally.

    8. Remember you are in the same team. Fighting your partner/spouse is fighting what you two have, which in effect is fighting yourself.

    9. Avoid insults. Hold and control your tongue, hurtful words only complicate matters, once they are spoken they can't be taken back.

    10. Don't be tempted to use the information your partner/spouse shared with you in trust to get your way. Don't use the secrets your partner/spouse shared with you to attack or intimidate your partner/spouse.

    11. Don't disclose matters to a third party. Solve the matter the two of you. Don't gossip about the short comings of your partner/spouse to your family or friends. Don't air your dirty linen in public. Cover each other from outsiders as you two remain naked to each other.

    12. Pray together. Prayer clears up the air, restores love and order, brings unity of purpose and reminds you that God is watching and you both are God's children.

    13. When talking about the matter, fully talk about it, look for its root cause, lay everything on the table. A problem that is not fully addressed or understood will keep recurring.

    14. Give each other a chance to speak. None should feel silenced.

    15. Be mindful of your body language. You may not insult but your partner/spouse is paying attention to your body language. Don't sneer, click or show contempt.

    16. Never use your child/children to settle scores in a cold war with each other. You are both loved the same by the child/children.

    17. Conclude the matter quickly. The longer tension exists between you two, the more dangerous it grows.

    18. Accept responsibility. Being mature doesn't mean you won't do wrong or fall short; it means that when you do mess you are wise enough to apologize. Say sorry if you are on the wrong, forgive when you are wronged.

    19. Come up with a way forward to prevent the matter from happening again or from causing much damage in the future.

    20. Hug. Kiss. Make up. Make love.

    21. Laugh about it. Find comedy in your difficult times. No storm lasts always. You two will come out through it closer and stronger. Stay focused, your love is worth fighting for, not fighting each other.

SENATOR SERIAKE DICKSON THROWS HIS WEIGHT BEHIND SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN'S REINSTATEMENT.

The Senator representing Bayelsa West, Senator Seriake Dickson, has thrown his weight behind the return of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) to the Senate following a court judgment that nullified her six-month suspension.

Dickson gave his position while addressing journalists in Abuja on Saturday.

The former Bayelsa State governor said he had never supported prolonged suspensions of lawmakers, stressing that such actions run contrary to constitutional principles and legislative ethics.

Dickson said, “I sympathize with Natasha. I have never been in support of any parliamentary body suspending members for long periods.

“The Senate leadership and my colleagues know my position on this, anchored on the law, the constitution, and my conviction.

“Senators are here to agree and disagree in the national interest. So, we have to tolerate and respect one another, even when we differ in opinion.”

Dickson emphasized the need for Akpoti-Uduaghan to resume her duties without further delay, insisting that her voice and representation are vital to the legislative process.

“I was not present when her suspension was announced, but that is not my concern. My interest is that she resumes her seat and continues to perform her constitutional responsibilities.

“I understand the court has already made a decision on the matter,” he added.

Two weeks ago, the Federal High Court in Abuja declared Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s suspension by the Senate as unconstitutional, excessive, and a violation of the rights of her constituents.

Justice Binta Nyako, in a ruling, ordered her immediate reinstatement and awarded a ₦5m fine against her for contempt, relating to a satirical Facebook post that breached a court order issued on March 4, 2025.

The post, which appeared to mock Senate President Godswill Akpabio, was ruled to have violated an interim injunction.

Nonetheless, the court ruled that the Senate’s action in suspending her for six months was beyond its constitutional powers.

    COPIED FROM: THE PUNCH NEWSPAPERS.
    --------------------------------------

Senator Dickson is a truthful leader. Other leaders should as a matter of fact emulate him. More power to your elbow sir.

  • THE BREAD BOY

    A Short Story With Morals.

On a certain day, a young boy who sold sweet bread was having a really bad sales. He had walked several hours under the scorching heat of the sun without anyone stopping him to buy a bread. He became frustrated, exhausted and angry.

    Then he said to himself.
"I think I will take a little rest under a shade, and then I'll continue. I might get lucky and sell some bread"

He deliberately tried to ignore the situation to keep his hopes up.

As he wandered the streets, looking for a place to rest, an elderly woman stopped him. She uttered.

"You look so tired and weary. And it looks like you haven't sold a bread yet. Oh, poor child struggling under the burning sun"

    The boy whispered.
"What do you suggest I do now, ma'am?"

    The elderly woman said.
"You should give up already. As it stands now, it doesn't look like you'll sell a bread today. Just go home already. Or would you rather spend all day roaming around unnecessarily on the streets?..."

The boy remained speechless as he watched the elderly woman walk away. At that very instant, a young man who was standing nearby and had overheard the short conversation, walked up to the bread boy and said.

"I think she's right. You should quit already. Don't you see how exhausted you are? It's already a bad sales day for you and there's nothing you can do about it. Just go home now, otherwise you'll fall sick from excessive stress"

The boy suddenly felt discouraged and bewildered. With little or no hope of selling his bread, he decided to give up for the day. So, he turned and left immediately.

But no sooner had he left, than a man drove his car down the street, asking some group of people.

"Have you seen the kid who sells bread around the streets? I want to buy all his bread to feed the children in our orphanage"

    Someone replied.
"I think he has already retired for the day"

    Morals Of The Story:

Believe what your heart tells you, not what others say. And also, don't give up too fast just because you don't see it working. Sometimes, all it needs is a little bit more time. Exercise patience.

THE BREAD BOY A Short Story With Morals. I might get lucky and sell some bread" He deliberately tried to ignore the situation to keep his hopes up. As he wandered the streets, looking for a place to rest, an elderly woman stopped him. She uttered. "You look so tired and weary. And it looks like you haven't sold a bread yet. Oh, poor child struggling under the burning sun" The boy whispered. "What do you suggest I do now, ma'am?" The elderly woman said. "You should give up already. As it stands now, it doesn't look like you'll sell a bread today. Just go home already. Or would you rather spend all day roaming around unnecessarily on the streets?..." The boy remained speechless as he watched the elderly woman walk away. • SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

    DATE: SUNDAY, 13TH JULY 2025.

TOPIC: POSITIONED IN AUTHORITY BY CHARACTER

SCRIPTURE: And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom? 1 SAMUEL 18:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It takes the strength of character to bear the weight of authority.

I once heard a story about a young man from God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo some time ago. The young man was a messenger in an organization. He would come to work and clean all the offices about 30 minutes to an hour before the arrival of every other person. And he would remain in the office 30 minutes to an hour after the close of business.

This young man was a messenger. The Managing Director (MD) of the organization was observing him all this while without his knowledge. One day the MD told the young man, the messenger, “Can you clean that office for our new General Manager who is about to arrive?” He went ahead, cleaned the office and put it in order. Then, the MD said to him, “That is your office. You are the new general manager of this company.”

Thus, he went from being a messenger to becoming a manager, not by the acquisition of a higher certificate but by the possession of a winning character.

What your certificate cannot do for you; your character can do it for you. If your character is positive and stable, the sky is your starting point. People gain authority by character and lose authority by the absence of character.

For example, God gave Esau authority by virtue of being the first born, but he lost it by the lack of character. His appetite was stronger than his foresight. God gave Samson authority, but he lost it by the absence of character. You will not lose your authority, in Jesus’ Name.

Now, how does character position people in authority?

    1. Authority is a weight that requires strength to bear. Authority is a burden (Exodus 18:22, Numbers 11:11) and it requires strength to bear. It takes the strength of character to bear the weight of authority. Where the weight of authority is higher than the strength of character, a crash of destiny is inevitable.

For example, employ a chronic womanizer as the principal of a girls-only high school, and everyone’s child in the school is a potential girlfriend in his eyes. He will continue to misbehave until he is finally arrested and sent to prison. So, authority requires the strength of character.

    2. Character compels followership. People gladly follow the man with character. When David demonstrated the character of boldness, passion for God and brought down Goliath, instantly, everyone changed followership from Saul to him.

My counsel is, do not pursue position, pursue character and position will pursue you. Be the right person and you will find yourself in the right place.

Remember this: It takes the strength of character to bear the weight of authority.

    ASSIGNMENT(S):
    1. Make up your mind to uphold a godly character to draw men to God.

    2. Spend time in God’s Presence to continuously shape your character.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to exist and operate with a winning character. Shift me to the high places of life at the frequency of character, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING: Song of Songs 3-5

QUOTE: A tender conscience makes living in sin impossible. Culled from the book, Who Are You by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: Polar bears have black skin under their white fur to absorb heat from the sun.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Step into your realm of authority at the frequency of character in Jesus Name.

  • Good morning God's beloved. Thank God for another day. Today, every arrow against our lives, families, health, marriages, children, health etc is going back to sender by fire. Whatever stopped you the last time from entering into your new level, shall not stop you again. By the blood of Jesus Christ, I put an end to every negative description that has been attached to your family name because of negative conditions. Whatever you have given up on humanly speaking, may God's mercy restore them back to you. Out of your family, there may not have arisen any great person IN CHRIST, but God is raising you to be the first, opening new chapters to the destiny of your family. As from today, the things that you were looking for before shall begin to look for you on their own accord. Welcome to your new week of new good things. The evils in this new week are far from us and our family members in Jesus mighty name. Today shall be your "I RISE TO A NEW HEIGHT SUNDAY".
