Only 200 Youths Registered For Army Recruitment From Entire South-East – Brig. Gen. Ekeator Cries Out Brigadier-General Chima Ekeator, who leads the Army Force Headquarters Recruitment Sensitisation Team in Anambra, has raised concern over the low turnout of South-East youths for the ongoing Nigerian Army recruitment. Speaking at a sensitisation event for youth leaders and community president-generals, he revealed that while other regions have over 4,000 applicants, only 200 people from the entire South-East have registered so far. He called on community leaders to go back and mobilize their youths, saying that full participation is necessary to ensure the South-East gets its fair share in the army. Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba, assured that the state government is committed to encouraging youth involvement. He urged every community to produce at least 10 youths willing to join the military. Also speaking, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Community Affairs, Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, reminded young people aged 18 to 22 that this is a great opportunity to serve their country.

Caesarean sections were performed in Africa long before they were standardized across the world. They were invented in Africa long before Europe, and the rest of the world fully mastered how to conduct them (Young, 1944). The procedure is said to have been started since time immemorial. When a baby could not be delivered vaginally, midwives and surgeons would turn to C-sections in order to deliver the baby safely and alive. In areas around Lake Tanganyika and Lake Victoria, midwives and surgeons would perform this procedure (Davies, 1959). When a baby could not be delivered vaginally, the midwives and surgeons would sedate the mother in labour with a lot of banana wine. A knife would be sterilized using heat, while the mother would be tied to the bed for her safety. An incision would be made quickly by a team, and the quickness was to ensure that there would be no excessive loss of blood, and also that other organs would not be cut. A combination of sterilized knives and sedation would make the experience less painful for the mother (Felkin, 1884). During these times, women rarely developed infections because antiseptic tinctures and salves were used to clean the area and stitches were applied. Shock and excessive blood loss were uncommon. Uganda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were the countries where this was most practised. In Uganda, C-sections were normally performed by a team of male healers, but in Tanzania and the DRC, they were typically done by female midwives (Davies, 1959). It was in the Ugandan kingdom of Bunyoro that this procedure was most documented. The procedure was performed so well that Robert W. Felkin, a Scottish medical anthropologist, documented all of this in the book The Development of Scientific Medicine in the African Kingdom of Bunyoro Kitara. He witnessed the procedure in 1879 and was captivated by it. What got his attention was that back in Europe, a C-section was considered to be an option only to be used in the most desperate situations. At this time, "nearly half of European and US women died in childbirth, and nearly 100% of European women died if a C-section was performed" (Felkin, 1884).

The PDP Governors’ Forum Meeting is necessary at this time to deliberate on the way forward for the PDP as we reposition the party as the best option for Nigerians in 2027.

Abba Kyari in Trouble as Court issues Fresh Order on Cocaine Case Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled that suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and his co-defendants must open their defence in the ongoing drug trafficking case filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The ruling, delivered on Friday, April 11, followed a series of no-case submissions filed by the defendants, which the court dismissed. Justice Nwite held that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case against the embattled officer and his co-accused. Kyari, a former Head of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), was arrested on February 14, 2022, after the NDLEA declared him wanted over alleged involvement with an international drug cartel. He is standing trial alongside four other police officers—ACP Sunday J. Ubua, ASP Bawa James, Inspector Simon Agirgba, and Inspector John Nuhu—on charges of conspiracy to deal in 17.55kg of cocaine, unlawful dealing, and tampering with evidence. The defendants were arraigned on March 7, 2022, alongside two suspected drug traffickers, Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwanne, who were apprehended at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu. While Kyari and the four officers pleaded not guilty, Umeibe and Ezenwanne pleaded guilty and were subsequently convicted. Following the closure of the NDLEA’s case, the defence team filed a no-case submission, arguing that the evidence presented was insufficient for conviction. However, in five separate rulings, Justice Nwite disagreed. “Assuming without conceding that the defendants were charged with a quantity of cocaine either less or more than 17.55kg, it does not negate the fact that prima facie evidence exists showing the 1st defendant dealt with or tampered with cocaine,” the judge stated in his ruling on Kyari’s application. The court has adjourned the matter to May 21, 2025, for the defendants to open their defence #news #politics

Press TV: Al Mayadeen English (Twitter) The #Palestinian Ministry of Health in #Gaza has issued an urgent appeal to replenish medicine stocks in hospitals and primary care centers, warning that #Gaza's healthcare system is on the brink of collapse. According to the ministry, 37% of essential medicines and 59% of medical consumables are completely out of stock. Operating rooms, ICUs, and emergency departments are struggling to provide life-saving care as they are functioning with depleted stocks of life-saving drugs and medical essentials. Meanwhile, 80,000 diabetic patients and 110,000 individuals with high blood pressure do not have access to medications in primary health centers. Moreover, 54% of cancer and hematology drugs are completely out of stock. The ministry's statement stressed that "Israel's" ongoing closure of border crossings to medical supplies and pharmaceuticals is compounding the health situation, posing catastrophic challenges to delivering critical healthcare... Israel continues to escalate against Hezbollah in Lebanon, jeopardizing the ceasefire brokered by the United States last November. The ceasefire was supposed to end the confrontation that broke when Hezbollah began launching attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in support of Hamas in the Gaza Strip a day after the surprise attack on Israel on October 7 of 2023. Israel, however, continued to launch strikes against the group and kept troops in five posts in southern Lebanon. The IDF escalated its operations against Hezbollah in recent weeks, launching on March 28 its first strike against the Lebanese capital, Beirut, since the ceasefire entered into effect. Israel said that the strike was a response to two rockets that were launched from Lebanon at the settlement of Kiryat Shmona earlier in the day, although Hezbollah had denied responsibility. The strike hit a building used by Hezbollah’s drone unit in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh, according to the IDF.Hezbollah refrained from responding, but this was not apparently enough to avoid further escalation by Israel. The IDF struck the southern suburbs of Beirut again on April 1, this time killing Hassan Bdair, a senior commander of Hezbollah. Three other people were killed in the strike.Bdair was allegedly a member of Hezbollah’s Unit 3900 and of the elite Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.Hezbollah again showed restraint, but to no avail. An Israeli strike hit the coastal Lebanese city of Sidon early on April 4, killing Hassan Farhat, the commander of Hamas forces in the western sector of Lebanon. At least two other people were killed. The IDF said at the time that Farhat advanced “numerous attacks” on Israeli civilians and troops.Israel escalated further on April 7, killing Muhammad Adnan Mansour, the commander of a local Hezbollah rocket unit in a strike on the southern Lebanese area of Taybeh. The next day, April 8, the IDF launched a strike against an alleged air defense depot of Hezbollah close to the northeastern Lebanese city of Baalbek. As a result of Israeli pressure, a senior Hezbollah official told Reuters on April 8 that the group was ready to hold talks with the Lebanese president about its weapons if the IDF withdraws from southern Lebanon and stops its strikes. This was not, however, good enough for Israel, which on April 9 accused Hezbollah of rebuilding a weapons manufacturing site in Beirut. The accusation is clearly meant to justify further escalation, including the renewal of attacks on the Lebanese capital. All in all, the future of Hezbollah appears to be in limbo. With no way to deter Israel, the group could reorganize its forces on a much smaller scale, or even move away from the Iran-led Axis of Resistance.DEAR FRIENDS. Some desperate Ukrainian armored forces are moving from Sumy, but they are moving under the radar of Russian intelligence, and it is clear that Kiev’s tactics will soon be humiliated again! According to the latest news from the front, Kiev suffered heavy losses of personnel and equipment from Demidovka and Popovka. Russian military channels released a video on April 8 showing infographic images captured by Russian intelligence of a failed Ukrainian assault troops on the forest area around Demidovka. More images show bodies of Ukrainian assault troops strewn about after failing to hold out, badly battered by Russian fire in the battle to retake Demidovka. Russian forces countered the advance with innovative tactics, particularly through the deployment of advanced UAV units, capable of carrying heavy weapons such as tank mines, as well as special weapons designed to hit enemy personnel and equipment. One of these successful attacks had a significant impact, with the “explosion” described as devastating. In addition to personnel, one of the few American M1A1 SA Abrams tank, the Ukraine only remaining extra armor, was thrown into the fray. Tank from the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were quickly disabled after penetrates Demidovka, now abandoned in Russian settlement, representing another armor not included in the video frame. Behind the actions of the combat groups, there is hard work in the rear, in the field laboratories, where technological solutions are born that would be the envy of professional defense specialists. Special Forces "Anvar" showed their field laboratory in a video on April 9, about drone attacks on equipment and artillery strikes on Ukrainian infantry from the Demidovka and Popovka areas, when Ukraine tried to enter the Belgorod region last week. Today, almost every unit that has a UAV group is also a small design bureau. Not without reason, the Russian Defense Minister recently noted that the most effective robotic systems are born in the troops.Mirrored - MILITARY TUBE TODAY To survive what is coming, read/study: https://thewayhomeorfacethefire.net (https://thewayhomeorfacethefire.net/)https://christs.net/The Gibraltar Messenger : https://gibraltar-messenger.net (https://gibraltar-messenger.net/) Al Mayadeen English (Twitter) Indirect talks between Iran and the #UnitedStates are set to begin in Oman on April 12, according to Iranian media reports.
