  • COMMUNICATION - A CREATIVE PROCESS

Communication is a creative process we share within a language system that we did not design, nor did we assign the original meaning or labels to places, people, and things. Although we can choose the words we use to explain anything, often, the interpretive process that aligns with our worldview is what gets conveyed. We need to distinguish between circumstances, experiences, culture, and subjective reasoning to find the truth. This isn't always straightforward, as we are the subjects who have created thousands of narratives based on personal experiences related to everything we do. Popular culture, family, the broader culture, the education system, peers, and other influences that shape us over a lifetime have always conveyed meaning, which is why everyone's view of the world is so diverse.

The meaning shapes the subconscious to view the world through the prism of thought. What if some of those thoughts are faulty? This is often easy to notice in others, yet interestingly, we tend to agree with every idea we have because we thought it ourselves; therefore, we assume they can never be wrong. This can be a common trap for us all, convincing us that we are right. If you consider your thoughts, they never have an aggressive tone; they are on neutral ground because they do not originate outside of ourselves. They speak convincingly about whatever we may be passionate about or oppose; the perspective that aligns with them seems convincing because of the background story. However, not all your interpretations are influenced by others; you assign that meaning through the creative expression of the word, whether its connotation comes from non-verbal or verbal cues.

When we communicate with other cultures, it highlights how much information we have picked up from our own culture subconsciously, as the meanings often contrast immensely. These meanings are assigned to different objects that have culturally specific subjects. We could write a vast list to compare these differences relating to gender, money, family, lifestyle, it is embedded in our attitudes, values, and ways of seeing and doing. Even the collective or individualized nature of interactions from all different perspectives dramatically changes from culture to culture. We engage in many ritualized practices, from going to the store to social norms within the groups within our culture, and often the culture of the people belonging to a group has been dictated by the environment within which it exists.

Other institutions all interact with or affect the context of the group in some way. Because the communicative process has opened up many doors into cross-cultural communication, the starkest differences we can observe are how these meanings are so different, just like the seed that produces apricots will not produce the herb mint because of the instructions hidden in the seed of its kind. This is associated with language, and the content in the seed has a unique composition of words. Yet, from the perspective of a free thinker, or a pantheist, or whatever label has been associated with specific ideas, it has a unique set of words that make up that eventual fruit. Let's take a closer look at those two terms. My knowledge of them is superficial; I have assigned my own meaning to what I think they stand for, just as you may have. Our depth to those names may be on different levels, and how can we take command of our concepts if we do not have a shared definition? This is where the lines get blurred.

    Merriam-Webster dictionary

Freethinker: A person who thinks freely or independently: One who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority.

Pantheism: A doctrine that equates God with the forces and laws of the universe.

When people speak, they can only draw from the information that is within their minds. I cannot speak Chinese, nor have I developed the necessary skill set for basketball, nor would I be competent to walk into the role of a CEO who manages a huge company, overseeing 1,000 staff. Yet there are many other people with the language for those domains, unless it was a part of my communicative process to be competent in all those semantic differences, it would have to first come to the ear or the eye gate to be programmed into the subconscious. If a CEO began talking about an advanced business process that had never come to my consciousness, how could I participate in the unknown? I am 100 % ignorant.

Yet in this world, we have many opinions about things we do not understand. This is why the subject of critical thinking in these last days cannot be overemphasized. A postmodernist thinker believes that there is no objective truth, that it is relative to a particular cultural context. Many blurred lines exist, explaining gender differences and various phenomena through the neologisms assigned to name them. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. These are two scriptures, one from the Gospel of John and the other from the book of Genesis. They both speak about beginnings, and the significance we will find here is the word.

Words are the beginning of all things, but what do words carry and the energy to create? We cannot have a conflict of opinion, as this is the objective truth. The beginning did not start with a big bang, although many intelligent people subscribe to that theory. But how can you explain meaning? If we are meaning-makers of everything we do and see. Something analogous and descriptive in each day that God created something, the first words uttered from his mouth were Let there be ……. Lights, let there be light. Let there be a vault between the waters from above to the waters below. Let the land produce vegetation. Let the water teem with living creatures. Let the land produce creatures. Then at last God said Let us make mankind in our image and likeness. Hence, God created mankind in his image, in the image of God He created them. Male and female, he created them. These are two foundational objective truths that every single person who walks on this earth, whether they are a gangster, a Buddhist, or a citizen of heaven, is made in the image of God and is either male or female, as described by the word. God is the Word. That idea needs deep contemplation.

Where did all these other words originate, such as 'new age,' 'murderer,' or 'hate'? I could create a myriad list of alternatives to the truth that do not belong in heaven, as God is truth, good and love. If we delve deeper into the concept of the new age, it comes under the category of idolatry because God said, “Do not put any other god before me”, yet not everything that the new age practices is evil. Even though they have some components of the truth in their teaching, such as consciousness and awareness, and even the fact that they have claimed precious stones as a medium, they are exalting creation above the Creator, yet in heaven itself, it is full of precious stones. Words from the source, according to God, and in context to our fallen world, have become smudged and blurred within many different practices on this earth because some of them yield benefits, as exemplified by people from various domains of life, such as Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. Because in the Bible, just under where God said He made them male and female, God blessed them and said, 'Let them be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it.' God never removed the blessing after the fall; that is why he cursed the ground for our sakes.

If we can understand the first three chapters of Genesis, we can explain every lower culture on the earth that we see, which occurred thousands of years ago, as a result of Adam's sin. After that, we see many different evils happen on the earth, which is why God flooded it. Yet, before his return, the days are meant to return to the days of Noah, so nothing is new under the sun. But all these realities are created by the word. Even in the last book of the bible, God has categorized those who will not enter into his rest in the heavenly city, those who practice magic arts, those who are sexually immoral, murderers, idolaters, and those who practice falsehood. These words only became effective after the fall. If you investigate the first two chapters of the bible, it is pure, unadulterated water because it is God’s perfect mind and his original ideas. He had to create a manager for the earth made in his own image. There were no themes of evil; words are the beginnings of all things. What words are you embracing today?

  • SEASONS TO NOTE WHEN DATING
*Not Every “Sweet” Season Leads To Marriage!*

    https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaGhjo07tkjCfXdy322U

Dating isn’t just a straight road to the altar. It comes in seasons, and if you’re not discerning, you may commit to the wrong person or leave someone right for you.

Here are the 4 key seasons every dating couple goes through and what to watch out for:

    1. THE HONEY SEASON (Excitement Phase)

This is when everything feels perfect. The frequent late-night calls, butterflies in your tummy, sweet words, constant attention, and nothing is ever wrong about this person at this phase.

They seem like your answered prayer and the best thing that has ever happened to you.

At this phase, you need to be aware of those that show their best side, not their real side.
NEVER make long-term decisions in this phase. Enjoy it, but stay alert.

    2. THE STORMY SEASON (Conflict Phase)

Here, disagreements begin to arise. You begin to see attitudes, temper, communication style and how they react under pressure.

This is the time to note if they handle conflict with maturity or manipulation.

You should find out if both of you talk things through respectfully.

This season reveals emotional intelligence, which is a must for marriage.

    3. THE SILENT SEASON (Distance Phase)

At this phase, the energy suddenly drops. Calls are reduced. Excitement fades, and It feels like something’s wrong.

This is when to find out if you are emotionally connected beyond physical attraction.

Do you still enjoy each other’s company without constant entertainment?

This season tests depth. It is at this point that shallow relationships usually die.

    4. THE DECISION SEASON (Clarity Phase)

This is the phase where you see them clearly. Their strengths, weaknesses, and patterns.

At this phase, you need to evaluate if you are aligned spiritually, emotionally and mentally?

Do you share the same values, goals, and faith convictions?

This is where you decide if this person is your future spouse or just a distraction.

However, you need to know that if you introduce s.e.x too early, these seasons become harder to discern, your judgement may be biased, emotions get clouded and red flags get ignored. You will begin to confuse lust for love.

Dating is not a game, it’s preparation for destiny.

  • DISCOURSE ANALYSIS

Critical discourse analysis- is discourse analytical research that primarily studies how social abuse and inequality are enacted, reproduced, legitimated and resisted by text and talk in the social and political context. – Teun A. Van Dijk

Identifying the dominant speech act among political parties, powerful elites, and those in authority who steer and control the minds of a nation—whether in religion, education, media, or politics—is a crucial skill for critical thinking. We should not assume that those in authority who uphold the status quo mindset genuinely believe that the concepts or issues they claim are the root causes of crises are accurate when they may prevent people from ever resolving the real problems. For instance, migrants are often scapegoated as the cause of economic downturns, while the real issue may lie in powerful elites monopolizing economic and political power. How conversations are framed in media or political rhetoric can distract the public from addressing the actual problems. We must consider who controls the discourse.

For example, many migrants in America work in the service sector. They do the labouring jobs that build the economy, yet they are the lowest paid. Often, they work to send remittances back home to relatives, as this is one of the financial flows that benefits those who would otherwise not have access to their basic needs. So, arguably, one from a prosperous, powerful nation could argue that the money is not being invested back into their economy.

However, this is not where the problem lies. Many wealthy elites pay the least tax, often hiding their wealth in investments while drawing negligible income for themselves as they put their money to work and know how to avoid hefty taxes. Thus, the notion that money would trickle down to the lowest socioeconomic classes has been proven false since the 80s, demonstrating that today, the rich are getting richer while the poor are becoming poorer despite shifts within the middle class. Therefore, discussions about border control and migration distract from the real issues. In 2022, illegal immigrants made up only 4.8% of the American population. Another concern for some economists is that Trump's policies are detrimental to the American economy, as many low-wage jobs may go unfilled, and the average American will not accept such low pay with rising living costs. Furthermore, illegal immigrants often face mistreatment, as employers fail to pay them their wages. However, these immigrants cannot voice their complaints for fear of being reported to the authorities.

We must consider who controls the discourse, where the power relations lie, and whose interests are affected. What conversations are being overlooked? What are the foundations of their argument? Where are the global flows monopolised? How are these power relations maintained? What barriers hinder economic growth in migrant nations? Are they benefiting from global flows, or are those flows bypassing them entirely? What can be done to create a fairer financial system at a global level, not just nationally, but across every part of the world? We also need to consider finance and barriers, such as trade tariffs. As we have seen recently, Trump's strategy to boost the American economy is implemented through policies and his method of pressuring others by increasing trade tariffs and competing with China's economy. We might also view the internet as a city, with powerful elites controlling the largest platforms and dictating how conversations unfold.

Because the algorithm relies on what information you receive and what you don’t, it has placed us in an echo chamber of similar voices. This is political, as it restricts access to crucial information, preventing people from engaging in conversations they need to hear. Those involved in conspiracy theories will continue to receive information that reinforces these beliefs, whether related to politics, finance, religious indoctrination, or extremist ideologies. This practice benefits platform owners since they can market you to advertisers who are aware of your political interests and preferences. There are no privacy settings in place to prevent this, as it forms part of their business model, allowing them to profit from your interactions on their platforms.

They've allowed you space to express your opinion, but the more information they gather about you, the better it becomes for them. It’s also a level of state surveillance unprecedented in history. Entities like governments and law enforcement can access information through these communication channels. We need to consider all global flows, such as media, information, migrants, capital, economic goods and services, cultural ideas, practices, and belief systems. All of this is shaped by discourse, so we must examine how situations and ideas are framed while contemplating the conversations that aren't happening and identifying which discussions need to be initiated, particularly regarding some of the global challenges the world is facing. We should consider global, national and local perspectives to understand how these various levels of scale are impacted. The rising cost of living has been felt across numerous areas, and the chasm between the rich and poor is widening.

This also explains why we need to engage with discourse analysis to critically deconstruct what is being said and who is advantaged. We will always encounter power relations where resources are unequally distributed. However, skilled individuals are entitled to financial, political, and social benefits. Are they uplifting others, or are you witnessing exploitation? It’s about learning to identify structures and flows and recognising how the feedback loop in the system perpetuates problems while pinpointing bottlenecks where there is reduced flow. What are the barriers? Are the inputs and outputs resulting in desirable outcomes? Only we can answer those questions for ourselves. Let's begin with discourse analysis depending on how deeply we want to understand how power relations are maintained.

  • Constitution Review Will Guarantee Just Federation - Akpabio

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio has said that the review of 1999 Constitution being embarked upon by the National Assembly will guarantee the evolution of a more just, united, and forward looking federation.

Akpabio made the remarks while declaring open the South South Zonal Public Hearing on the review of the 1999 Constitution in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State.

The exercise held simultaneously in five geopolitical zones across the country.

A statement by the Special Assistant on Media/Communication to the President of the Senate, Anietie Ekong quoted Senator Akpabio to have said: “Today’s event is not merely a formality. It is a democratic rite—a solemn moment in which the people, not politicians alone, speak into the soul of the nation. It is an affirmation that in a democracy, every voice counts.

“Let us not forget that democracy is a work in progress. No constitution is eternal in its original form, and no democracy is perfect—because man himself is not perfect. But it is in our collective pursuit of perfection—that more perfect union—that the true beauty of democracy lies.

“Therefore, the review of our Constitution is not a sign of weakness, but of strength. It is not a complaint against the past, but a commitment to the future. We amend not to abandon, but to realign—to adapt our national charter to the changing realities, dreams, and demands of the good people of Nigerian.

“Every Nigerian is a stakeholder in Nigeria’s democracy. This public hearing is a testament to the Senate’s unwavering belief that truth emerges not from silence, but from dialogue; not from monologue, but from the aggregation of honest opinions. That is why we are here—not as party men, but as patriots. Not as political actors, but as nation-builders,” he said.

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno said the Constitution review was an important moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey that must lead to a restructuring of the country. . He was represented by the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi.

According to Pastor Eno, “This zonal public hearing is not a mere procedural step in legislative activity. It is, in truth, an important moment in our democratic journey. The scores of constitution alteration bills across thirteen thematic areas—painstakingly curated by the Senate Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution speak to some of the most urgent and persistent questions about the structure, efficiency, equity, and future of our federal union.

“These themes resonate deeply with the yearnings of the peoples of the South South. Indeed, they mirror longstanding calls from this region for a more just, responsive, and restructured Nigeria, where every federating unit can flourish, contribute meaningfully, and feel a sense of belonging.

“Here in the South South, we look to this exercise not just with interest, but with hope—hope that this constitutional review process, will, far from being just another talk shop, move us closer to a federation that works for all, protects the rights of every citizen, empowers communities, and unlocks the full potential of states.

Deputy Senate President and the Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, Barau Jubrin listed some key areas that the Constitution review would address.

“Several key issues we need to address include electoral reforms and adjudication; judicial reforms focused on case management and administration; enhancements to local government administration; the involvement of traditional institutions in contemporary governance; promoting human rights; ensuring gender equity and inclusion in governance; the devolution and distribution of powers; the structure of our federation; and concerns related to security and policing.” He was represented by the Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East, Aniekan Bassey.

Several interest groups presented their memoranda at the Zonal public hearing. Issues covered included States creation, Local Government autonomy, gender inclusion, role of traditional rulers among others.

  • 9 STEPS TO TAKE BEFORE YOU QUIT YOUR MARRIAGE

God wants you to be happy in your marriage. He wants you to have a marriage without sorrow. God wants you to have a strong, consistent, stable and beautiful marriage. No matter where you are presently in your marital journey, I want you to know that there is a brighter marital future ahead of you by God’s grace.

    WHAT TO DO:

    1. EXAMINE YOURSELF

Examine your characters first and make the necessary corrections. You can't have the marriage of your dreams if you are part of the problems. You may need to replace some negative statements and give up some undesirable attitudes. Develop emotional intelligence by recognizing, understanding, and managing your emotions. Show empathy towards your spouse, and try to see things from their point of view.

Make amends where necessary. Do not be a difficult partner, be a peace maker and not a trouble maker. Make up your mind to improve, even if your spouse fails to improve.

    2. COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SPOUSE

Marital harmony cannot occur without communication, and in situations where peaceful union is not possible, frustration takes over. Practice open, honest, and respectful communication. Listen actively, express yourself clearly, and make an effort to understand each other's perspectives.

Ask your spouse if there is any character he wants you to change to bring peace in the home. Create time to talk. To resolve the issue, get together and sit down. Instead of focusing on the personality, jointly address the underlying cause. Don’t apportion blame to anybody but apologize to one another in love. Use positive words to settle your disputes and disagreements with heart-to-heart discussions.

    3. GIVE TOTAL COMMITMENT TO YOUR MARRIAGE

Your commitment to your spouse determines the beauty of your relationship. A happy marriage does not just happen by chance or luck; it is deliberately created. Marriage requires personal commitment to ensure its success. The more you invest in your marriage, the more valuable it becomes. When you are committed to your marriage, you put in all your efforts to bring out the best in it. Getting your spouse to fall in love with you over and over again is easy once you have the right information and you apply it.

    4. WORK AT YOUR MARRIAGE

UNTIL YOU INTENTIONALLY WORK AT YOUR MARRIAGE, IT WON'T WORK! IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY!

Married Couples that experience peace, joy, fulfilment, harmony, happiness and everybody bursting with the joy of the Holy Ghost, didn’t arrive there by accident. They worked at it and are still working at it!

The truth is that there are no trouble-free marriages. EVERY marriage has issues. Accept this and resolve to find a resolution.

God doesn’t favour one marriage more than another. He is ready to give you joy, peace and happiness in your home as long as you fulfil your own part of the marriage covenant.

    5. DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR MARRIAGE

PLAY YOUR OWN PART! FIGHT FOR YOUR HUSBAND, FIGHT FOR YOUR WIFE, FIGHT FOR YOUR CHILDREN, FIGHT FOR YOUR MARRIAGE, FIGHT FOR YOUR PEACE, FIGHT FOR YOUR JOY AND FIGHT FOR YOUR HAPPINESS! KICK STRANGE MEN/ WOMEN OUT OF YOUR MARRIAGE FOREVER!

    DIVORCE IS NOT GOD'S DESIGN!!

    Don't quit on your spouse.

6 . INVEST IN YOUR MARRIAGE

9 STEPS TO TAKE BEFORE YOU QUIT YOUR MARRIAGE❗❗❗ God wants you to be happy in your marriage. He wants you to have a marriage without sorrow. God wants you to have a strong, consistent, stable and beautiful marriage. No matter where you are presently in your marital journey, I want you to know that there is a brighter marital future ahead of you by God’s grace. WHAT TO DO: 1. 📌EXAMINE YOURSELF Examine your characters first and make the necessary corrections. 2. 📌COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SPOUSE Marital harmony cannot occur without communication, and in situations where peaceful union is not possible, frustration takes over. 3. 📌GIVE TOTAL COMMITMENT TO YOUR MARRIAGE Your commitment to your spouse determines the beauty of your relationship. 4. 📌WORK AT YOUR MARRIAGE UNTIL YOU INTENTIONALLY WORK AT YOUR MARRIAGE, IT WON'T WORK! 5. 📌DON'T GIVE UP ON YOUR MARRIAGE PLAY YOUR OWN PART! 6 . 📌INVEST IN YOUR MARRIAGE BUY MARRIAGE BOOKS! ATTEND MARRIAGE SEMINARS. • ATBU, Bauchi Student Invents Smart Glove to Convert Sign Language to Speech.
Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, is at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technological advancements in Nigeria, as one of its student, Muhammad Habib Husaini, a computer and communication engineering student, has invented a digital speech transformation device that converts sign language into audio.
The invention, known as the NHED Smart Glove, began with a working demo to test its efficiency and accuracy. The device operates using pressure sensors that, when activated, send data to the ESP32 microcontroller. This data is then sent to an SD card module, which commands it to play the corresponding audio.
Habib described his invention as "homemade," emphasizing that all components were sourced and built from scratch by him.
He created the NHED Gloves to provide people with speech impairments a voice and a means to communicate. This invention offers a cheap yet advanced alternative for them.
Habib’s words on the invention were powerful: "With the NHED Smart Glove, we are not just building a device; we are also restoring dignity and bridging the gaps in communication."
This incredible invention was made in ATBU. ATBU, Technically Ahead!
