BREAKING: FG Declares Two-Day Public Holidays The Federal Government has declared Friday June 6 and Monday June 9 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration. Recently, I had a conversation with a 16-year-old who was bothered that she hadn't gained admission at her age. I smiled. Because I understood that pressure. Probably, she had seen some of her mates who had gotten admission a year before. I’ve been there. So I decided to share a little bit of my own journey with her, just to encourage her heart. I finished secondary school at 17. But I didn’t get admission into the university until I was 21. At that same age, many of my mates had already finished university. Fast forward to now, I’m about turning 25, and I’m still in school. But guess what? Some of my age mates are married with kids. Some are working good jobs. Some are doing their master's abroad. Some are doing very well financially. And I celebrate them. I truly do. But I will be a big fool, yes, a BIG FOOL, if I let comparison steal my joy. Because what society won’t tell you is that life is not a race. It’s not about who gets there first, it’s about finishing well. Yes, it’s beautiful to start early. If you can, do it. But if life didn’t hand you that early start, please don’t beat yourself up. Some wanted to get married at 22… now they’re 30, and it hasn’t happened yet. Some wanted to have kids at 27… now they’re 36, and they’re still waiting. Some thought they’d be millionaires by 25… now they’re almost 40, and they’re still trying to figure things out. Does that make them failures? Absolutely not. It makes them human. Delay is not denial. And your life is not on pause just because you didn’t meet the timeline you hoped for.
