I couldn’t hold back the tears especially after stepping into the female hostel, now overcrowded*. *Every single girl under our care this session is under 25 years old. Some are just 12. And here’s what breaks my heart even more-none of these girls were rescued from the streets*. *Every one of them was brought in by their own parents. While checking in bags at both the girls’ and boys’ hostels, we found paraphernalia-evidence of addiction, rebellion, deep-rooted pain…* *This is not just a problem. This is a pandemic*. *Let’s stop pretending. Let’s stop covering our eyes*. *Things are NOT right with our Youths*. *Today, i read about a young man expelled from Babcock University-a teenager with a ₦100,000 ritual soap from a herbalist.* *He borrowed ₦500,000. He became a drug peddler.* *Not from a poor home. Not a street child. But a well-groomed boy from a comfortable background. Wetin him dey find? KILO NWA KIRI !!!* *What is going on with our YOUTHS? Why this desperation for quick wealth*? *What has happened to HARD WORK, INTEGRITY, and DIGNITY*? *Last week, we struggled to find a tiler for one of our projects. We had to bring in one from Togo. Why*? *Because our own YOUTH do not want to learn any skill*. *They don’t want SCHOOL.* *They want “HOOKUP*” *They want “YAHOO*.” *They want to do nothing but SCROLL, LIE, PARTY and they want MONEY FAST*. *And let’s be real. You cannot do Yahoo or Hookup without drugs or Alcohol. They go hand in hand*. *My heart is heavy. Are we just going to fold our hands and watch this generation waste away*? *PARENTS! Wake up*! *Where are you*? *Why the silence*? *Why the complacency*? *Why are some of us condoning and funding this destructive lifestyle*? *Your child doesn’t need a new PHONE-they need PURPOSE*. *They don’t need more DATA-they need DISCIPLINE*. *They don’t need “FREEDOM”-they need BOUNDARIES*. *We cannot keep blaming SOCIETIES, FRIENDS, INFLUENCERS. It starts from the HOME*. *Please, let’s start talking again*. *Let’s check their bags*. *Let’s check their hearts*. *Let’s check ourselves*. *To every Parent reading this please be present*. *Your child doesn’t just need your MONEY; they need your TIME and VOICE*. *Ask questions. Don’t be afraid to dig deeper, even if it’s uncomfortable*. *Teach values. Wealth is GOOD, but WISDOM, CHARACTER, and CONTENTMENT are better*. *Be their safe space. If you don’t listen, the world will and it will feed them lies*. *Let’s rise up and fight for the souls of our children. We may not be able to save all, but we must not give up on the ones we can reach* *They are not just the future-they are our now*. _*Let’s not lose them...*_ *WHEN PARENTS FAIL – HOW LACK OF DISCIPLINE IS CREATING A GENERATION OF LOST SOULS* There was a time when parents raised warriors. Now, they raise weaklings. A time when children feared their fathers’ discipline. Now, children insult their fathers online. A time when a slap from your mother could reset your entire future. Now, mothers watch their children twerk for clout. The world changed—not because evil became more powerful, but because parents became weaker. Children no longer have boundaries. No fear. No respect. No discipline. And the result? A generation that mocks God, worships vanity, and embraces sin with pride. *BRUTAL THREAD:* 1. *CHILDREN WITHOUT DISCIPLINE BECOME ADULTS WITHOUT SELF-CONTROL* A child who never hears “NO” at home will hear “NO” from life when it’s too late. The boy who was never told to control his desires will become a man addicted to sex, gambling, and laziness. The girl who was never told to respect herself would become a woman who exposes her body for money and attention. The child who was never corrected for lying will become an adult who deceives, manipulates, and steals. If parents don’t discipline their children, the world will punish them later. 2. *THE FALL OF FAMILY VALUES IS THE RISE OF MORAL DECAY* What happened to parenting? Mothers used to teach daughters how to be women of dignity. Now, they encourage them to “secure the bag” by any means. Fathers used to teach sons how to be responsible men. Now, they are absent—either too weak, too distracted, or too scared to lead. So children are now learning from TikTok instead of home, and the internet is raising a generation with no fear of God and no sense of direction. 3. *PARENTS WHO SPOIL THEIR CHILDREN ARE DESTROYING THEM* Giving your child everything they want is the fastest way to ruin them. A child who never worked for anything will grow up lazy and entitled. A child who was never disciplined will grow up thinking life has no consequences. A child who was never corrected will grow up believing they can do anything and get away with it. Now, we have a world full of adults who can’t handle rejection, can’t handle failure, and can’t handle life. 4. *WHEN PARENTS CHOOSE FRIENDSHIP OVER LEADERSHIP, CHAOS FOLLOWS* Many parents today want to be their child’s friend instead of their leader. So instead of saying: ❌ "This behaviour is wrong!" They say, "She’s just expressing herself." ❌ "You must work for what you want!" They say, "Let me buy it for you." ❌ "This is not acceptable!" They say, "I don't want to hurt their feelings." And just like that, we have a generation of weak people who cry over small problems and break down when life gets tough. 5. *THE NEW GENERATION LOVES PLEASURE BUT HATES RESPONSIBILITY* Discipline used to be normal. Now, a child calls it "abuse" when a parent corrects them. Now, teachers can’t discipline students because "it’s too harsh." Now, young people demand freedom but reject accountability. Everyone wants to enjoy, but no one wants to work. And this is why: The streets are full of lazy men chasing quick money. Social media is full of young girls selling their bodies for attention. Homes are full of broken families because nobody was raised to be a good partner or parent. 6. *WHEN CHILDREN LOSE DISCIPLINE, THEY LOSE THEIR FUTURE.* Many young men today are addicted to masturbation, pornography, and cheap pleasure—because nobody taught them self-control. Many young women today expose their bodies for social media likes—because nobody taught them self-respect. Many young people today are broke, weak, and mentally unstable—because nobody taught them how to survive hardship. The devil is not the problem. The parents failed. 7. *IF WE DON’T FIX PARENTING, THE WORLD WILL GET WORSE.* If we continue like this, the next generation will: ⚠️ Have no morals. ⚠️ Have no work ethic. ⚠️ Have no fear of God. Society will collapse—not because of demons, but because of poor parenting. *BOTTOM LINE:* If you are a parent, discipline your children. If you are young, discipline yourself. Everything is almost on the social media network, and just with a click on your system or a touch on your pad or smartphone, you can disseminate information to the whole world in just a second. And so right at the corner of your room, you can affect millions of lives away from you. What an avalanche of opportunity to reach the world with the message about the love of our Saviour. Yet with these opportunities available through technology, many yet give excuses why they cannot witness to dying souls about the love of God... Others would rather use all the time they have to engage in frivolities and ungodly chatting on Facebook or other social media network. Many watch polluted films, while others spread jokes that have no eternal values, injurious reports, unedifying news reports with their phones and systems... Beloved, you are just a touch away from the whole world. You can save a soul with just a post on Facebook or Wattsap chat. And what you do with these opportunities will tell in eternity for you or against you. There is no other generation that is so closely connected through the power of media like this generation. People are on the social media network throughout the day and night. And it doesn't matter what time of the day or night that you make a post or chat on Facebook. There are always people waiting to respond. What an opportunity to reach out to the world! Beloved, there is a dying world waiting daily to be saved through you. Many of them hang out on the social media network to either get a message that will liberate or save them or perish through the junks on the media. Reach out now, use the powers of the present-day media to tell the whole world about Jesus, He deserves to be heard and seen by the world He died for. ACTION STEPS 1. Create a broadcast list on your smartphone to send edifying gospel messages daily. It is part of evangelism. 2. Share this message to encourage someone to reach out to lost souls. 3. Aunty Cynthia came to our house. She is my mom’s sister. Ever since she arrived, she has been a thorn in my flesh—constantly disturbing me. “Emmanuel, do this!” “Emmanuel, do that!” One day, I looked her straight in the eyes and told her: “I am David and you are Goliath. I will bring you down—you must surely leave this house.” The fact that she laughed at my threat got me really infuriated. So, I swung into action, monitoring her every move. Then one Monday, I overheard her on the phone saying “baby.” I immediately ran to my mum and told her that her 26-year-old sister has a boyfriend and was calling him baby in our house. Instead of supporting me, my mum scolded me and told me to mind my business. I knew that plan had failed. I tried several other ways to nail her, but none were enough to send her packing. Then one day, I caught her stealing meat from the pot! I ran to tell my mum. All she said, “She’s the one cooking, so she has to taste it.” I told her that Aunty Cynthia took sizeable meat! My mum shushed me, saying I was beginning to act like a gossip. I tried to convince her, but she said she needed evidence to believe me. That was when I realized I needed to catch her red-handed—on camera. Three days later, my mum and dad were not yet home. My elder siblings were outside playing, but as the last born, I knew I had a truth to uncover. I took my brother’s phone and tiptoed to the kitchen. Peeking through the slightly opened door, I saw her—dancing and shaking her body in another person’s house! I waited patiently. I knew she would taste the meat while cooking stew. Jobless me stood there for almost 30 minutes. Finally, she brought out already-prepared stock filled with meat she had cooked earlier. I knew this was my moment. I waited until she took a plate, scooped some sizeable portions of meat, and began eating. That was when I brought out my phone and pressed the shutter button—not knowing the automatic flash was on! The flash lit up the entire kitchen. I had been compromised. I immediately took to my heels! She chased after me. As I ran from the kitchen to the living room, she slipped on the tiles and fell. I stopped running and ran back to check on her. The next thing I saw was slap and stars—followed by beating! She beat me like a criminal in my father’s house. To crown it all, she gave me extra knocks on the head, and my head was swollen. My siblings ran inside, begging her to leave me alone, but she refused. By the time my mum came back, my elder brother had already found a place to hang my leg. I was acting like I wouldn’t see tomorrow. My mum was angry seeing me in that condition—her favourite child that loves gossip? Oh no! When my dad returned, he was angry too, but he didn’t say a word. I knew then that she was finally leaving. But why did it have to be at the expense of extra head? The slap she gave me is still paining me. After we narrated everything to my mum, she said nothing about the meat. She was only angry that I was beaten like a piece of metal. Everyone was happy when my mum said Aunty Cynthia would be leaving the next day. I didn’t know nobody liked her from the start! We had been liberated—and I paid the price. The next morning, we helped her with her bags and reclaimed our house. Guess what my dad said to us one week after we chased away my mum’s sister? “My own sister will be coming to stay with us for some time.” We all shouted right in front of him, NO My dad replied: “It’s final. If you don’t like it, go and build your own house!” Anyway, my siblings and I have already made plans for the next visitor. Even hot water is part of the plan. Aunty Beetle-mouth? No!
