• WHY THERE ARE NO PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN CHINA

No Chinese citizen awakens one morning contemplating: “I shall vote for my president.”

    WHY?

Because the Chinese president is not elected by the populace. He is chosen by members of the CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY.

But wait — this is not a political party in the conventional sense. It is not a local political club that anyone can join.

    NO.

The Chinese Communist Party is an ELITE.
You cannot simply join because you desire it.
You gain entry only if you are SELECTED.

    And who is selected?
    ELITES.
    TRAINED individuals.
    EDUCATED individuals.
    POWERFUL individuals.
People who have already demonstrated their capacity to think STRATEGICALLY, ECONOMICALLY, and POLITICALLY.

    Why this model?
Why not allow the people to choose, as in other nations?

Because China’s system is founded on a HARSH yet REALISTIC observation:

Someone who is impoverished, who is uncertain if they will have food to eat tonight, who does not know if they will survive the night… cannot possibly possess the clarity of mind required to select a country’s president.

Yes, it is difficult to accept.
    But it is the TRUTH.
Someone who cannot comprehend their own life… cannot grasp the complexities of a nation.

Do you genuinely believe that a person struggling with poverty, who knows nothing of geopolitics, economics, international relations, industrial strategies, or national defence… can wisely choose who should govern a power like CHINA?

    I do not think so.

You may express emotional cries of “democracy, democracy,” but China is PRAGMATIC.

It prefers to entrust the governance of its people to TRAINED MINDS, to individuals who have been SELECTED, SCRUTINISED, and TRAINED for this task.

Because if you cannot govern your own life, how can you select a leader for 1.4 billion people?

That is why, in China, it is not the people who vote.
It is the Chinese Communist Party that makes the choice.

And even to become a member of that Party, one must possess a certain LEVEL, a TRACK RECORD, and ACHIEVEMENTS.

Power is not acquired through emotional ballots —
it is attained through COMPETENCE, RIGOUR, DISCIPLINE, and EVIDENCE.

In China, they do not gamble with the future of the nation.
They do not rely on the uninformed majority.
They assign responsibility to those who have proven their ability to shoulder the weight of reality.

    Something to ponder.

HERE ARE 4 POWERFUL STRATEGIC LESSONS FROM THE CHINESE GOVERNANCE MODEL

    1️⃣. COMPETENCE OUTWEIGHS POPULAR OPINION

LESSON: A nation or company flourishes when it is led by the most competent — not the loudest.

China does not leave its fate to chance or popular sentiment.
It selects leaders based on merit, experience, performance, and discipline.

RESULT: In 40 years, it has evolved from a developing country to the second largest economy in the world — and soon possibly the first.

While other countries elect leaders based on promises and slogans, China places STRATEGISTS at the helm of its future.

2️⃣. ELITES ARE NOT A THREAT WHEN WELL MANAGED — THEY ARE A NECESSITY

LESSON: If you desire elite results, you must have elites in charge.

In China, membership in the Communist Party represents the pinnacle of meritocracy.
You do not attain this through populism. You reach it through intelligence, rigour, loyalty, and results.
These individuals make significant decisions for the country.

This strategy has enabled China to lift over 800 million people out of poverty in 30 years, create giants like Huawei, Alibaba, and Tencent, and position itself as a global leader in technology, infrastructure, and AI.

3️⃣. STABILITY IS PREFERABLE TO DEMOCRATIC CHAOS

LESSON: Long-term development requires avoiding impulsive shifts in direction.

China does not change course every five years.
It plans for 30, 50, even 100 years ahead.

Mega-projects like the Belt and Road Initiative, the development of megacities, or technological supremacy are planned across generations.

Why? Because power is stable, centralised, and thoughtful.

In contrast, other nations waste time creating and rescinding public policies after each election — resulting in instability, waste, and stagnation.

4️⃣. GUIDED COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THE ILLUSION OF FREEDOM

LESSON: A population directed by a clear vision progresses more swiftly than one engulfed in disorder.

China has made a bold decision: to train its elites and entrust them with the responsibility of guiding the masses.

    RESULT:
Swift decisions, infrastructure constructed in weeks, a flourishing digital economy, and increasing global influence.

Meanwhile, countries where “everyone expresses their opinion” struggle to build a simple bridge or enact a strategic law.

China ACTS while others merely TALK.

  • What no one told me about marriage before I enter that I want to tell you.

This is for those planning to marry or those who just got married.
If you are open-minded, you can still read.
    Nobody knows it all.

    1. Immediately you get married, even before having a baby, go and register your family for health insurance.
NHIS is one of the common ones and the most available in hospitals.
It will save you a lot.
There are some things the rich won’t tell you.
With NHIS, you can walk into any hospital and get treated cheap depending on the package.
A friend of mine once did an operation and all he paid was ₦10k something that would have cost ₦400k.

    2. Have a family doctor very very important.
See, no church will tell you this.
Even if you don’t have money for a family doctor, have someone you can call in case of emergency.
Especially a pediatrician when you start having kids.

    3. Also, have a family lawyer.
Recently, our family lawyer saved us over ₦500k in rent that I wanted to forfeit.
But because she stepped in and did her job, money was refunded seamlessly.

    4. If you can afford it, have at least one domestic staff.
Someone that can at least help ease the work in the house for you and madam.
My brother, ejiro kwa afufu anya isi.
    Get help if you can.

    5. Buy things in bulk.
The reason I live like a wealthy man today is because I buy everything I need down to toothpaste in bulk.
You spend more buying in bits than when you buy in bulk.
That’s one of the reasons I created my sharing platform to enable family men and women with common goals.
There is nothing we don’t share. Some of you reading this are in that group.

    6. Pay your children’s school fees before school resumes.
As I’m talking to you now, I’ve already sent SGM the kids’ school fees that’ll be paid in September.
I don’t have to worry about it again.
    It helps me plan myself.
Do everything possible to pay school fees before resumption. You won’t know what you’re doing until money goes on leave from your side.

    7. Strive to have passive income.
Something that can generate at least ₦3-5k every day.
No matter what try and get something like that.
It will save you from a lot of stress.

    8. See the friends and circle your kids will have tomorrow everything depends on the school they attend.
This one is very, very important.
Even if you don’t have money, find a way to send your children to one of the best schools.
You won’t realise what you’re doing until they come of age.

9.I learnt this one from my dad always have family meetings.
You, your wife, and your kids no matter how small they are.
Discuss problems, solutions, and way forward.
Allow the kids air their opinions.

    Ask the kids:
Is there something mummy and daddy are doing that they don’t like?

    Same thing with your wife.
Talk about what you both can do to have a stable and loving family.
This helps in uniting the family.

Every month is fine or even every 6 months.
Just make it a habit and a culture.
It’ll become a memory that sticks for the kids, and for you and madam too.

Everyone’s opinion in the family matters.
And as the man, it’s your job to hear everybody’s opinion and choose the best way to run the family.

This isn’t just for the man alone madam can initiate it too. There’s no perfect formula, yes. But this one I listed? It works every time.
I repeat if you try it, you’ll save yourself a lot of unnecessary headache and stress.
You can add yours... enjoy your weekend.

  • To the Leadership of University of Calabar

For students who have invested 7-8 years of their lives, many now in their final year, this directive to withdraw is not just disheartening; it is deeply unjust.

Education is a contract built on trust: when a student commits time, effort, and money, the institution must keep its end of the bargain. These students did not over-admit themselves. They did not set the quotas. They did not create this crisis. These actions are of the school!

It is unfair and frankly unacceptable to push the burden of a broken system onto young people who have only done what they were told would secure their future.

I hope the University of Calabar rethinks this decision and finds a fair solution that doesn’t dump the weight on young people who’ve already given so much.

Let’s do better. These students and Nigeria deserve better.

Nigeria depends on the strength of its institutions.

  • What Peter Obi did by serving food at the event wasn’t about politics or seeking publicity.

He was participating in the Jubilee of Hope, a special day created to reverse roles—where the rich serve the poor.

It’s more than a kind gesture. It is a powerful reminder of equity, justice, and the kind of humanity we should all strive for.

This tradition encourages people in positions of privilege to step into humility and service, even if only for a day.

It speaks to the very heart of many faiths, especially the Catholic Church, which teaches that love is best shown through action.

A serving senator, Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, was also there, serving food to others during the same event.

That alone tells you this moment wasn’t about politics. It was about people.

  • *TRUE FULFILMENT IS IN CHRIST*

    *Friday 11th July 2025*

    *TO THE BIBLE*
*Acts 17:28 NIV;* “For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.”

    *LET’S TALK*

“Did you hear what that billionaire said before he passed?” Ogooluwa asked Titilayo, his voice low but curious.

Titilayo looked up from her phone. “Who? Mr. Kingston? The tech guy?”

    “Yeah,” Ogooluwa nodded.

_*“After building that empire and owning everything money could buy, his last words were... ‘I found out that true fulfilment is in Christ.’”*_

Titilayo blinked. “Seriously? After all that?”

    Ogooluwa shrugged.

“Guess it shows there’s more to life than just success and money.”

Do you ever look around and think, “Wow, man, has come up with remarkable innovations!” Like, we’ve built rockets that touch space, phones that can do pretty much everything, and art that makes you feel all kinds of emotions.

Man was made in the image of God, and that’s why even the natural man possesses incredible capacity and potential. But even with all that, something’s missing. Think about it: people have made life easier with all these inventions, hoping it would make them happier. Yet, why do so many still feel empty inside? Why do we hear about celebrities and super successful people who have it all but still feel lost?

For instance, think of a professor who has acquired immense knowledge yet struggles with the meaning of life. He has no peace or satisfaction despite his intellectual prowess and tragically decides to end his life. How sad! This example illustrates that no matter how much knowledge or success one attains, true fulfilment is in Christ and Christ alone.

Even today, a lot of people are still asking, “Why am I here?” They’ve got the fame, the cars, the followers, but deep down, they’re searching for something more. And it’s not just older people dealing with this. Right now, so many young people are asking the same questions: Why am I here? What’s the point? Some have lots of followers, viral videos, designer clothes, and all the attention they could ask for—but when they’re alone, they feel empty. Others think, “Maybe if I just disappear or start over, I’ll finally feel peace.”

Christ is the source of all joy, all peace, and all fulfilment. Outside of Him, everything is fleeting and meaningless. In Him, you find the meaning of life, the purpose for which you were created, and the true joy that transcends circumstances. In Christ, you find all of God’s goodness. Hallelujah!

    *FURTHER READING*
    John 10:10; John 15:11; Psalm 16:11

    *PRAY*

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for being my source of true fulfilment, joy, and peace. You’re my reason for being; my satisfaction and pure delight come from my relationship with you by the Holy Spirit. And I thank you for helping me bring many others into the same glorious life of purpose, eternal joy, and true fulfilment in Jesus's mighty name, Amen.

    *ACT*

Take a moment today to pause and ask yourself: What am I really living for? Is it likes, followers, success, or something deeper? In Christ alone lies true fulfilment, ask him to come into your life today if you are yet to.

*CALVARY GREETINGS AND HAPPY WEEKEND TO YOU ALL FROM ARCHBISHOP PROF. SIMEON, DR. GRACE AND FAMILY, GBELEYI*

  • I’m so excited about Viktor Gyökeres joining Arsenal not because I naively believe one striker guarantees trophies, but because I understand what’s been missing.

For the last 3 seasons, the only real difference between Arsenal and City / Liverpool has been shambolic officiating and cheatcodes up front. Salah and Haaland didn’t just play; they decided titles. They walked away with Golden Boots while we held Golden Gloves.

We’ve been defending like champions. But in attack? We’ve relied heavily on Saka and hoped the rest show up. That’s not enough.

With Gyökeres, we finally get a ruthless 9 who thrives on half-chances. And with the amount of chances we create? This is the signing that could take us very close to both the Premier League and the Champions League.

This is exactly why I didn’t want a "project" like Sesko. I wanted someone ready-made, someone who hits the ground running not someone we’re still "developing" in crunch time.

I was also disappointed with Partey leaving. You don’t just tinker with a midfield like you’re switching sim cards , it takes years to build that chemistry. But overall, I’m confident we’re going in stronger next season.

Give us two more attackers, and this Arsenal team is cooking something special.

I’m so excited about Viktor Gyökeres joining Arsenal not because I naively believe one striker guarantees trophies, but because I understand what’s been missing. AT BRICS SUMMIT, PRESIDENT TINUBU CALLS FOR REEVALUATION OF GLOBAL GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE, FINANCE AND HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS

President Bola Tinubu has called for a reevaluation of the current global governance structure and the financial and healthcare systems, urging greater equity and inclusion for low-income and emerging economies, particularly in Africa.

At the 17th meeting of the Global South and the Emerging Economies bloc, BRICS, on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the President stated that environmental degradation, the climate crisis, and healthcare inequalities should receive more attention, as they contribute to slowing growth and development.

President Tinubu, invited to the summit by Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, stated that Nigeria supports the BRICS position on the need to focus on collective, fair, and equitable global development.

Nigeria became the ninth partner country of BRICS in January 2025, joining Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan. The 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan in October 2024 created the partner-country category.

President Tinubu said, "Nigeria, therefore, associates with what I have heard today and all that has happened in BRICS. The next issues are financial restructuring and reevaluation of the global structure."

He noted that environmental degradation, climate crisis, and global healthcare inequalities were shared concerns pertinent to Africa.

"Africa has contributed the least to global emissions but suffers the most," he added.

President Tinubu emphasised the need for a new path of justice, anchored in fairness, sustainable technology transfer, and accessible financing, so that emerging economies can fully benefit from various initiatives.

"The African continent is creating the path through the African Carbon Market Initiative and the Great Green Wall. We believe that COP-30 will strengthen our resolve to adopt a strategic approach to achieving a healthy global environment.

"Nigeria strongly believes in South-South cooperation. We can, therefore, not be passive participants in global decision-making on financial restructuring, debt forgiveness, climate change, environmental issues, and healthcare.

"We must be the architects of a future that addresses the specific needs and concerns of youths, who represent 70 per cent of our population in Nigeria. Therefore, Nigeria remains guided by our long-term vision, 2050, and nationally determined contribution.

"We are taking bold steps to accelerate renewable energy adoption, mainstream climate action, promote nature-based solutions, strengthen urban resilience, champion South-South cooperation, align with the global renewal framework and achieve universal health coverage for all," the President stated.

President Tinubu also said that addressing non-communicable diseases must remain a collective health concern.

"As we approach COP-30 and look to strengthen the global health system, we believe the BRICS must not only be a bloc for emerging economies but also a beacon for emerging solutions and resolutions rooted in solidarity, self-reliance, sustainability, and shared prosperity of a common future.

"Nigeria reaffirms its commitment to strategic collaboration that translates into sustainable and inclusive development for all," he noted.

Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mr Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance, accompanied the President to the summit.

In exercising its pro tempore presidency of BRICS, the Brazilian government announced Nigeria's formal admission as a partner country on January 17, 2025.

As the world's sixth-most populous country and one of Africa's major economies, Nigeria shares convergent interests with other BRICS members.

Nigeria plays an active role in strengthening South-South cooperation and reforming global governance, which are top priorities during Brazil's current presidency.
