  • THE STORY OF OF EL-RUFAI AND ZIDANE....

Zidane Has Been In Prison Without Trial....

In 2019, Nasir Elrufai ordered the arrest & detention of Joshua aka Zidane a young warrior who led a self defense team for the Adara people.
All efforts to kill Zidane by Fulani terrorists proved abortive so they got Elrufai to arrest him.

While Zidane was on ground, him and his team resisted so many terrorists attacks on Adara communities and inflicted damages on the terrorists who then cried out to Elrufai for help.

Zidan was arrested by a team of soldiers and tortured before being sent to prison on the orders of El-rufai.

This is the price of self defense against the Fulani terrorists invasion in Nigeria.

It is expected you allow yourself to be killed and never put up any form of resistance. Today, Adara communities are totally vulnerable with no security presence, terrorists now kill and abduct them at will...

  • FORMER Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, yesterday, explained why he and other members of the G5 Governors’ Forum opposed the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 elections.

But in a push back, the former Vice President, described them as frustrated opportunists, who are searching for relevance.

Also, the PDP similarly, accused Ortom of acting out of personal interest rather than genuine concern for fairness and equity in the 2023 elections.

This came as a former Presidential aspirant, Mr Dele Momodu formally resigned from the PDP, citing what he described as the hijacking of the party by antidemocratic forces.

Ortom, a leading member of the G5 group of PDP governors, said the party’s failure to respect equity, fairness, and justice was the reason they chose to stand against it.

Ortom said the G5 had insisted that the presidency should shift to the South after eight years of Northern rule under President Muhammadu Buhari, but the PDP’s decision to field Atiku, also a Northerner, went against that principle.

“I acted as I did because we had expected the PDP to uphold equity, fairness, and justice, values I hold dear.

“When the majority of PDP members supported a Northern candidate, we deemed it unjust. We’ve always stood for equity, fairness, and justice, and we felt the presidency should alternate between the North and South for eight years each,” he said.

As chairman of the PDP’s zoning committee, Ortom noted that although the committee recommended an open contest, he personally pushed for a Southern candidate.

As chairman of the PDP’s zoning committee, Ortom noted that although the committee recommended an open contest, he personally pushed for a Southern candidate.

On the role of Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, in the crisis, Ortom revealed, “We fought for Wike to be the PDP’s presidential candidate, but unfortunately, he didn’t secure the nomination. We also believed he should have been the running mate. I was part of the 20-member committee tasked with selecting a running mate, and 16 of us supported Wike. However, the candidate and the party leadership decided otherwise.”

Ortom defended supporting opposition candidates in 2023, saying politics was based on interests. “Politics revolves around interests. There’s no permanent enemy or friend in politics. It’s about protecting the interests of your community, your people, and yourself,” he stated.

He also addressed criticism that he and Wike tried to “destroy” the PDP by supporting opposition candidates. Ortom compared their strategy to that of other PDP members who backed Peter Obi of the Labour Party or Bola Tinubu of the APC.

“Peter Obi wasn’t in the PDP, but we agreed on a strategic partnership to demonstrate our influence. Some of us supported Peter Obi, others supported Tinubu, and we ended up with the current government. If God has given us President Bola Tinubu, why shouldn’t we support him?” Ortom added.

Looking to the 2027 elections, Ortom reaffirmed his support for a Southern presidential candidate and stressed the importance of respecting power rotation.

“My position is clear. I will support a Southern candidate. I see no reason to support a Northern candidate in 2027. By 2031, if someone from the South expresses interest in the presidency, I will still advocate for it to shift to the North. That’s based on my belief in equity and fairness.”

Ortom on criticism over alleged bias in Benue State politics, where he is accused of favouring the Tiv ethnic group, said: “I’ve fought for fairness and have advised other ethnic groups on what they need to do. I agree it’s unfair for one group to dominate the governorship since the creation of Benue State. However, politics also involves the majority. The Tiv people occupy Zones A and B, while the Idoma and Igede are in Zone C. It’s a matter of political dynamics, and I’ve encouraged other groups to organise and assert themselves.”

  • The Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Lagos is undergoing enhancements to increase its capacity from 650,000 barrels per day to 700,000 barrels per day.

The upgrade, intended to increase the facility’s nameplate capacity by an additional 50,000 barrels per day, is anticipated to be completed by the fourth quarter of this year.

During a recent tour of the refinery in Lekki, Lagos, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the President of the Dangote Group, shared insights with both guests and journalists.

Dangote mentioned that the largest single-train refinery may not operate at full capacity this year due to ongoing modifications. However, he is confident that these adjustments will enhance the refinery's performance.

Dangote has stated that as of July 2025, the Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking unit is functioning at 85% of its maximum capability.

RFCC is a process employed in oil refineries to transform heavy leftover feedstocks into higher-value, lighter products like gasoline, LPG, and diesel.

He said, “Our RFCC is at 85 per cent. We are not up to 100 per cent because there are some modifications that we are doing. It will finish by the end of the year, and we believe we will get to 700,000 bpd, not even 650,000, because all the other components that we have and all the other departments have all (reached 100 per cent). Some are even doing up to 145 per cent. So, we’ve done very well in that area.

“As a company, we bought 10 million barrels of crude this month. So, 10 million barrels this month means that at the capacity we are, it’s about 55 per cent coming from the US.”

Two years later, on July 15, 1974, Benue-Plateau Television (BPTV) was launched, which would later become NTA Jos. This station made history on October 1, 1975, by becoming the first in West Africa to broadcast programs in color. In 1977, BPTV merged with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Later, in February 2008, NTA Jos was upgraded to a Zonal Network Centre.

  • Innovative Leadership: The Golden Line That Distinguishes Jakadan Arum From The Rest

    By Gwatana Godwin Joe
    ***
Innovation point refers to the pivotal moment when a talented and motivated individual seeks the opportunity to act on his ideas and dreams. Innovation entails the process of creating values by applying novel solutions to meaningful problems.

Akwanga/Nassarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency necessitates creative, innovative leadership - one that leverages modern technologies to address the numerous challenges confronting us.

Barrister David Ayuba Dumwe (Jakadan Arum), a young man groomed in an organized society, possesses all the qualities requisite to recreate a new and prosperous constituency for all.

Our greatest challenge as a constituency has been leadership failure, stemming from the fact that we are accustomed to doing the same thing and expecting different results - a clear case of misalignment.

If Barrister Dumwe has demonstrated the ability to creatively execute projects with a direct bearing on the lives of his people, it is evident that the constituency under his care will witness significant human and structural development.

His innovative prowess, which enabled him to excel in his educational pursuits, legal practice, and philanthropy, truly distinguishes him from other aspirants vying to represent us at the National Assembly (NASS).

As a people desirous of a great and prosperous constituency, it is incumbent upon us to ensure his victory in 2027.

  • ‎‎PRESS RELEASE

PEACEFUL PROTEST BY RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS: POLICE SETS RECORDS STRAIGHT, ASSURES OF SECURITY, PRESERVATION OF DIGNITY

‎The Nigeria Police Force has noted the ongoing conversations surrounding the peaceful protest being organised by some of our retired officers in relation to their pension entitlements. While some of these accounts are grounded in fact and driven by good faith, others have been marred by misinformation, emotional manipulation, and calculated distortions designed to discredit the Government and undermine the present leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.

It is disheartening to observe how certain actors have chosen to politicise a sensitive welfare issue, weaponizing the legitimate grievances of our retired colleagues for ulterior motives. Their intent is not reform, but disruption. Their tactics involve twisting facts, inflaming sentiments, and sowing distrust in the public space. These actions do a disservice not only to our noble institution, but to the integrity of public discourse in our country. We however remain focused on the real issue which is the welfare of those who once bore the burden of national security with courage and honour.

The agitation for improved police pensions, particularly the call for exit from the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), is not a recent development. It has spanned over a decade. Since 2014, successive Inspectors-General of Police have demonstrated empathy, engaged critical stakeholders, and provided institutional support for this cause. Yet, despite these earnest efforts, the desired outcome has remained elusive; not for lack of will, but due to entrenched legal provisions, fiscal limitations, and administrative bottlenecks. The hard truth is that exiting the Police from the CPS lies beyond the remit of any Inspector-General, as the matter is deeply woven into a web of statutory mandates, inter-agency protocols, and policy inertia.‎

‎Moreover, expert projections indicate that as the scheme matures, its benefits are expected to significantly improve. Officers retiring within the next five years are projected to receive significantly more favourable pension outcomes than those currently exiting the system. In practical terms, this means that the longer one remains in the scheme, the less likely they are to experience the same pension challenges. This evolving reality demands a pragmatic review of our approach.

In recognition of these constraints and shifting dynamics, the current Police leadership is pursuing a dual-track strategy of supporting the agitation in principle, while urgently exploring innovative, alternative solutions to address the immediate plight of our retirees. These include utilising internally generated revenues from police services to provide supplementary pension benefits; and mobilising private sector and corporate support for the establishment of targeted pension enhancement initiatives.

These interventions are already underway and reflect a broader, more holistic strategy to elevate the welfare of our retired personnel, not merely through policy debates, but through tangible results. The Federal government has been sensitized enough and appropriate responses are being awaited

Let it be stated unequivocally that this explanation is not intended to suppress the planned protest. On the contrary, it reflects a leadership that listens, understands, and engages in good faith. The Inspector-General of Police has interacted extensively with many retired officers over the past year, and several groups have since withdrawn their support for the protest, having appreciated the direction of current efforts. However, for those who still choose to proceed, their rights will be protected. The protest is scheduled to take place on Monday, 21st July 2025, primarily within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and any other State Command where prior notification has been duly given.

Accordingly, the Inspector-General of Police has directed all Commissioners of Police to ensure the peaceful conduct of the protest within their jurisdictions, especially in the FCT and other states where formal notice has been received; provide adequate security coverage to our retired colleagues who have chosen to publicly express their grievances; prevent any hijack of the protest by miscreants, political actors, or non-retired agitators; sensitise officers and men under their command on the constitutional rights to peaceful assembly, and the obligation to show utmost respect to our retired colleagues; while deploying intelligence and operational resources to protect lives, maintain public order, and safeguard institutional integrity.

The Inspector-General of Police charges all officers to note that this protest, described as “the mother of all peaceful protests”, must not only be peaceful; it must be exemplary, and as such should stand as a national model for dignified expression of grievance and responsible public order management. We must show, by conduct and command, that the Nigeria Police Force is both professional and humane.‎ He further reiterates that this is more than a directive; it is a call to institutional responsibility, a test of our maturity, our values, and our discipline.

Let us rise to this moment with wisdom, restraint, and unwavering respect for those who served before us. Serving officers are however warned not to be misled by those who either are ignorant of the ethics of our profession or are up for manipulations and disruption.

    ‎20th July, 2025
‎‎PRESS RELEASE ‎ PEACEFUL PROTEST BY RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS: POLICE SETS RECORDS STRAIGHT, ASSURES OF SECURITY, PRESERVATION OF DIGNITY ‎ ‎The Nigeria Police Force has noted the ongoing conversations surrounding the peaceful protest being organised by some of our retired officers in relation to their pension entitlements. The hard truth is that exiting the Police from the CPS lies beyond the remit of any Inspector-General, as the matter is deeply woven into a web of statutory mandates, inter-agency protocols, and policy inertia.‎ ‎Moreover, expert projections indicate that as the scheme matures, its benefits are expected to significantly improve. The Federal government has been sensitized enough and appropriate responses are being awaited Let it be stated unequivocally that this explanation is not intended to suppress the planned protest. • FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
    MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
    PRESS RELEASE
    Date: Saturday, 19th July, 2025

    ---

URGENT NOTICE: IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION OF 2025 WAEC EXAMINATIONS NATIONWIDE

The Federal Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), regrets to inform the general public, especially students, parents, and school administrators, of the immediate cancellation of the ongoing 2025 WAEC examinations across all states of the federation.

This difficult but necessary decision follows escalating reports of widespread examination malpractice, coordinated leakages of question papers, and unauthorized digital dissemination of exam materials through social media and AI-enhanced cheating tools. Investigations by the National Academic Integrity Task Force revealed organized rings operating in multiple states, compromising the validity of the entire examination process.

Key Findings Leading to Cancellation Include:

Leaked exam papers circulating up to 72 hours before scheduled papers.

AI-generated answers and remote cheating tools being used en masse.

Compromised WAEC staff involved in unauthorized distribution.

Over 480 flagged centres with coordinated cheating patterns.

Based on these findings, the integrity of the 2025 May/June WASSCE has been irreversibly compromised, and continuing with the exams would only reward malpractice and discredit the efforts of honest candidates.

    Key Directives:

    1. All ongoing and pending WAEC examinations from 22nd July 2025 onward are officially cancelled.

    2. All previously written papers from May 6th to July 18th, 2025, are declared null and void.

    3. A full investigative committee has been set up to prosecute individuals and centres found guilty.

    4. A fresh timetable for the rescheduled examinations will be released on Monday, 5th August 2025, after nationwide consultations.

    5. WAEC digital systems and supervision protocols will be overhauled ahead of the new examination window.

We understand the distress this may cause our young students and their families. However, we must uphold the sanctity of education in our nation. Candidates are advised to continue preparing and avoid falling prey to fraudulent websites or individuals claiming to offer “expo” or shortcuts.

Updates will be made available on the official WAEC Nigeria portal: www.waecnigeria.org and through verified news outlets.

  • 764,000 have lost money while 58 crypto wallets have made millions on Trump’s meme coin, data shows.

    (Last paragraphs are very important)

764,000 wallets of mostly small holders have lost money on $TRUMP, according to the firm.

58 wallets have made over $10 million each from President Donald Trump’s meme coin, totaling $1.1 billion in profits, blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis said.

(Look at the power of BIG CAPITAL; in investment, the number that truly counts is not the number of investors but the number of dollars. Lols)

    Now watch this…

The $TRUMP event, set for May 22 at Trump National Golf Club, Washington, D.C., includes a reception for the 25 wallets with the largest balance, along with a White House tour.

So….? You know what this means?

When you see $Trump memecoin’s price rising recently due to high demand, know that it’s most likely influenced by the incentive “reception for the 25 wallets with the largest balance, along with a White House tour” and not necessarily a rise in demand out of investors’s perceived value.🫰
    (CNBC reported)

👆🏼This is an advantaged news for short term investors in this crypto to make quick money.

But if you are a long term investor, this news and its recent impact on the price movement of the memecoin should not drive your investment decision.🫰

There could be massive sell off by those big investors after enjoying the incentive. You don’t tell them what to do afterwards, do you?

Strong fundamentals should support your long term investment decisions.

I’m your investment strategist & analysts.
    I’m an intelligent investor.

*CAUGHT IN THE ACT...? A WARNING TO ALL MARRIED MEN*

If you caught a man sleeping with your wife on your matrimonial bed, you must not harm him. The law commands that you let him go in peace.

"Under the law, the man is not a trespasser, it's your legal wife who invited him into the house. He is not a thief either, because he has stolen nothing.

So for that reason, don't resort to self help. Let him go. Don't touch him. Don't insult him. Don't stop him from leaving your premises so you won't breach his fundamental human rights. Else, you have the law to contend with.

But you can snap him and your wife for evidence sake. Then, do the right thing; sue your wife and the man for adultery.

    That's what the law says.

Don't misbehave and go to prison because of a woman. Even after you're sent to prison, the same man or other men would still do it on your matrimonial bed or outside your home.

There's no emotion in law ; the man has not wronged you, it's your wife's fault

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse”.

ADDRESS BY PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR
AT THE JOINT SESSION OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IN COMMEMORATION OF
    DEMOCRACY DAY, 2025

    THURSDAY, 12TH JUNE 2025

    Protocol:

With profound honour, I stand before this joint session of our National Assembly; a parliament that embodies the will of the Nigerian people.

    2. Today, as I entered this grand edifice built from the sweat and toil of our democratic yearning, my heart stirred. It was a blend of accomplishment and resolve.

    3. I felt a sense of collective accomplishment when I realised how far we
had come as a nation. Since 1999, democracy has risen from the ashes and
destitution of military rule to take its rightful place as the only mode of
governance of our resilient and beloved people.

    4. With every footstep I took through these hallowed halls up to the
moment I now stand before you, I remembered that we still have much
    further to go.

    5. To achieve this progress, we sought an elective office to lead this
nation forward. Thus, I hereby affirm before our Merciful and Almighty God
and all men my resolve to do all that I can to safeguard and build our
democracy as the Divine hand intends for us to do.

    6. Since 2018, we have celebrated Democracy Day on this day; to
commemorate the sacrifices of the men and women who fought to restore
    democratic governance to Nigeria.

    7. Let me pay tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari for
reaching back into history to rectify a national misdeed by making June 12
Democracy Day and by officially acknowledging Chief Moshood Kashimawo
Olawale Abiola and his running mate, Babagana Kingibe, as the victors and
thus duly elected President and Vice President respectively of Nigeria after
    the June 12, 1993 elections.

    8. Year by year, election after election, every time we debate instead of
battle, discuss instead of fight, and argue instead of destroy, we preserve
the institutions of democracy. More importantly, we weave the culture of
democracy into the very fabric of our nation.

    9. Whilst Chief MKO Abiola is June 12's central figure, we must not forget
the long list of those who equally deserve to be called heroes of Nigerian
    democracy.
    10. We must celebrate the courage of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola and Pa Alfred
Rewane, both of whom were murdered by agents of military repression. We
also remember the many civil rights activists, journalists, and politicians
imprisoned, exiled, tossed aside, tortured and beaten by the military regime.

    11. We remember Chief Anthony Enahoro, Commodore Dan Suleiman,
Chief Abraham Adesanya, Ayo Adebanjo, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, Balarabe
Musa, Ganiyu Dawodu, the journalist Bagauda Kaltho, and Commodore
Ndubuisi Kanu. I mention these names not to exclude or degrade the
profound contributions of anyone else, but to illustrate, through these few
heroes, the universality of our pursuit of democracy.

    12. The struggle was never the province of any one group or section of the
country, it was pan-Nigerian in its conception and will be even more pan-
Nigerian as we strive to perfect it.

    13. It is fitting that I come to this chamber. You are the authors of the
people's law, and I must be their faithful implementer. While we may not
always agree, we must forge a way to work together because this is what
democracy demands of us. I pledge myself to this cooperation and ask that
you do the same for the good of our people.

    14. Mr. Chairman, the National Assembly has acted to uphold democratic
ideals at every critical moment in our national history. In 2006, the 5th
National Assembly protected our democracy against an unseemly third-term
bid that would have ripped our constitution apart. In 2010, the National
Assembly, through the doctrine of necessity, opened the door for then-Vice
President Goodluck Jonathan to become the acting President following the
    illness of his predecessor.

    15. Even under the military, the National Assembly tried to protect our
democracy. After General Abacha took over power on November 17, 1993,
and dissolved the National Assembly, some of us, led by Senator Ameh
Ebute, the Senate President in the 3rd Republic, defied the General and his
goons to reconvene in the Old Parliament Building in Lagos. We were jailed
    for our defiance.

    16. On behalf of a grateful nation, I commend your invaluable role in
    lawmaking, oversight, and constituency representation.

    17. At this point, I plead for your indulgence so that I may put a terrible rumour to bed.

    18. To those who ring the alarm that the APC is intent on a one-party state,
I offer you a most personal promise. While your alarm may be as a result of
your panic, it rings in error. At no time in the past, nor any instance in the
present, and at no future juncture shall I view the notion of a one-party state
as good for Nigeria. I have never attempted to alter any political party
registration with INEC. Equally, my friends, we cannot blame anybody
seeking to bail out of a sinking ship even without a life jacket.

    19. Look at my political history. I would be the last person to advocate such
a scheme. In 2003, when the then-governing party tried to sweep the nation
clean of political opposition through plot and manipulation, I was the last of
the progressive governors standing in my region.

    20. In all their numbers and false grandeur, they boasted of ruling, not
governing, Nigeria for the next half century or more. Where are they now?

    21. Yet, I stood alone. My allies had been induced into defeat. My
adversaries held all the cards that mortal man could carry. Even with all of
that, they could not control our national destiny because fate is written from
above. A greater power did not want Nigeria to become a one-party state
back then. Nigeria will not become such a state now.

    22. The failed effort to create a one-party state placed progressive political
forces on a trajectory to form the APC. It put me on the trajectory which has
brought me before you today. I dare not do such a favour to any political
adversary by repeating the same mistake of political overreach.

    23. A one-party state is not in the offing. Nor should it ever be. That said,
we would be guilty of political malpractice if we closed the door on those from
other parties who now seek to join the APC and I sincerely welcome our
party’s newest members from Delta and Akwa Ibom States led by Governor
Sheriff Oborevwori and Pastor Umo Eno and other members of this National
    Assembly.

    24. Political parties fearful of members leaving may be better served by
examining their internal processes and affairs rather than fearfully conjuring
up demons that do not exist. For me, I would say try your best to put your
house in order. I will not help you do so. It is, indeed, a pleasure to witness
    you in such disarray.

    25. We must welcome and accept the diversity and number of political
parties just as we welcome and embrace the diversity of our population. Our
efforts must never be to eliminate political competition but to make that
competition salutary to the national well-being by working across the political
    aisle whenever possible.

    26. One area in which democracy calls us to work together, whether in the
legislative or executive branch, whether in this or other political parties, is
that of economic and social development.

    27. Upon assuming office, my team and I moved to reform our ailing
economy. We introduced fundamental reforms to correct structural
    imbalances that prevented maximum growth.

    28. We are already seeing results. GDP grew by 3.4 per cent in 2024, with
Q4 hitting 4.6 per cent, the highest quarter of growth in over a decade.
Inflation is easing gradually, steadying the price of food staples like rice and
beans. Our net foreign reserves have increased fivefold, and the Naira
    exchange rate has stabilised. Our balance of payments position is positive;
our sovereign credit rating is improving as we continue to promote oil and
non-oil exports. States now do not need to go about borrowing to pay
    salaries.

    29. In less than one year, over one hundred thousand Nigerians, including thirty-five thousand civil servants, have benefited from affordable consumer credit through the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), enabling them to purchase vehicles, light up and improve their homes and purchase life essentials. This July, we will launch a bold new initiative to empower four hundred thousand young Nigerians, including youth corpers, with consumer credit.

    30. We are committed to giving more opportunities to young people through job creation and skills development. Through such programs as NELFUND, we are investing in education, vocational training, apprenticeships, and internships to ensure our youth are job-ready and
    future-ready.

    31. In addition, we have embarked on an ambitious project to lay fibre optic cables across the nation, a transformative step toward bridging the digital divide and fostering greater connectivity. This initiative promises not only to enhance the speed and reliability of internet access but also to revolutionize how businesses operate, how students learn, and how communities stay connected. By extending this critical infrastructure, we are empowering entrepreneurs, enabling digital education, and providing the tools for our youth to compete in a globalized world.

    32. Our "Nigeria First" policy will further enhance progress as we consolidate market-driven growth. The improved economic performance is encouraging and validates the soundness of our policy measures. Our medium-term growth target remains an economy growing at a 7 per cent clip with a stronger manufacturing base. We must learn to produce and grow most of our food and we are on the path to achieving food sovereignty.

    33. These and other reforms have placed the economy on a more rational footing where critical decisions regarding large-scale investment can now be made.

    34. I ask you, the legislature, to join me as we enter the second half of our term to put forth innovative legislation that further encourages industrial development and job creation in our urban centres while also drafting laws that improve food security and production.

    35. To further underpin our economic vision, we introduced a comprehensive Tax Reform Package, a vital component of our economic re- engineering. I am deeply grateful to both chambers for your thorough consideration and deliberation of these bills, and I look forward to signing them into law soon.

    36. Again, your collaboration across party lines on these bills has been a model of democratic partnership.

    37. As elected leaders, we must continue to do more to make real the dream of Nigeria's political and economic democracy.

    38. We must be vigilant in expanding the political space. We must always value dialogue over dictatorship, persuasion over suppression and rights over might. Be tolerant and broad-minded in your legislative action regarding speech and civil liberties.

    39. Do not be afraid to hear an unkind word spoken against you. Some of the best advice a politician gets sometimes comes from his most ferocious opponents. We dare not seek silence because the imposed silence of repressed voices breeds chaos and ill will, not the harmonics of democracy in the long term.

    40. While malicious slander and libel should not go unattended, no one should bear the brunt of injustice for merely writing a bad report about me or calling me names. Democracy requires a fair degree of tolerance for harsh words and stinging insults. Call me names, call me whatever you will, and I will still call upon democracy to defend your right to do so. Mr. Senate President, Mr. Speaker, Distinguished Senators and Honourable Members.

    41. Our nation is not perfect, but it is strong. Our democracy is not invincible, but it is alive. And this means our dream of a prosperous, happy nation is still within reach and worth fighting for.

    42. Mr. Chairman, Nigeria is at an inflexion point, undergoing structural and fundamental change toward a secure future.

    43. Our administration is fully committed to boosting the economy's productive base. Through investment in critical infrastructure, roads, expansion of port operations, rail, and power we are creating a new environment in which industry and manufacturing can thrive. Our tax and fiscal policy reforms will streamline tax administration and eliminate burdensome and multiple taxes enabling our industrialists and entrepreneurs to operate in a more conducive environment.

    44. Governance must work and deliver value to the people. As part of our tax reforms, we have provided small businesses with an exemption and established the Office of the Tax Ombudsman to ensure transparency and protect taxpayer rights. Digital tools now help us track performance and reduce waste. The Diaspora Bond and Non-Resident BVN are bringing
Nigerians abroad into the national development fold.

    45. In line with my promise during my New Year address to the nation, I recently appointed the board of directors of the newly established National Credit Guarantee Company. The company backed with 100 billion naira in initial capital; with BOI, which, by the way, is performing very well in supporting SMEs, NSIA, CreditCorp, and MOFI as stakeholders, will play a significant role in transforming the nation's industrial landscape and reducing
    corruption.

    46. National Security is the foundation of peace and progress. We have intensified security operations to reclaim communities from criminals and terrorists. We are better at coordinating intelligence, and inter-agency cooperation has improved. Our highways are safer, and we invest in technology and training to secure every inch of this country.

    47. Let us take this opportunity to thank the men and women of our Armed Forces for their bravery in service of the nation. Their selfless dedication to protecting our sovereignty and ensuring the safety of citizens should serve as an inspiration to us all. As we celebrate the progress of our democracy, we must not forget the pivotal role they play in safeguarding our freedoms. For their courage and commitment, they deserve not only our gratitude but
also our continued support, prayers and recognition.

    48. Fellow compatriots, our achievements are not the work of one man. They are the result of a collective effort to make possible the Nigerian Dream. Yet, the journey is not over. We must work even harder to translate broad macroeconomic gains into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary Nigerians. We must stay the course, reject cynicism, and believe Nigeria can and will rise again.

    49. As we mark a twenty-sixth year of unbroken democracy, it is right to honour those who have made sacrifices in the past, braving all the odds and the guns to ensure we have a regime of democracy in our country.

    50. In this light, I announce the conferment of the posthumous national honour of CFR on Kudirat Abiola, the heroine of the June 12 struggle.

  • APC Nat’l Chairmanship: The Time Is Here For Senator Al-Makura

    By Salihu Abdullahi Osuko
    ***
As the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) navigates its future trajectory, emphasizing national influence and internal cohesion, the moment has arrived for a seasoned, dependable, and visionary leader to guide its destiny: Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.

A former governor of Nasarawa State and a current statesman distinguished by his exemplary record of inclusive governance, Senator Al-Makura embodies the ideal blend of experience, discipline, and progressive ideology that the APC requires at this pivotal juncture. His leadership approach has consistently demonstrated humility, strategic foresight, and a results-driven methodology – attributes indispensable for leading a party of the APC’s stature.

During his tenure as governor, Nasarawa State underwent significant infrastructural transformation, educational reforms, and enhanced governance. He is one of the select few founding fathers of the APC who has remained unwaveringly loyal to the party’s principles. His dedication to unity, equity, and party discipline is exemplary in a political landscape frequently marred by personal ambitions.

The APC necessitates a national chairman capable of consolidating its achievements, mediating internal disputes, and fortifying grassroots support in anticipation of future elections. Senator Al-Makura is not merely a consensus-builder; he serves as a bridge between the party’s foundational vision and its future aspirations.

The time for deliberation has elapsed. The moment of decision has arrived. Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura is the leader the APC needs.
