MESSAGE
Anyone who has ever been betrayed before knows the value of loyalty and confidentiality. It is at such times that we desire to have people we can trust with the secret issues of our lives. And none is as trustworthy and reliable as the Lord our God.
Who loves and protects us despite all He knows about us.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a direct access to God all by yourself?

Some people desire to have a personal access to God without any interference. They want to be able to tell God their secret issues without anyone getting to know about it. They want to get personal with God. Well, that is one of the privileges of using the prayer language.

In today's text, we are told that you are actually on a direct access to God when you use the prayer language.

*It simply says; he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men but unto God because no man understands him.*

The prayer language is meant to help us communicate on a personal level with God directly without anyone knowing what we are telling him. It is one of the ways God gets personal with all His children on a private level.

The benefits of praying in an unknown tongue is enormous and numerous beyond words. Praying in an unknown tongue is not just engaging the Holy Spirit through the prayer language alone, it is amongst other things; edifying yourself, sort of like charging a battery.

You are charging up your inner man when you pray in tongues.

Life can be so hard and unbearable sometimes. And many times, we are bombarded with issues that weigh us down. The scriptures say we are hard pressed on every sides...

We need to be fully charged up with divine strength to withstand the pressures of life. And using the prayer language is one of the ways we stay spiritually charged up.

The apostle Paul went on to say that your spirit is actually praying directly when you are using the prayer language.

God is a spirit and we can only reach Him through a spiritual medium. Hence the need to engage the Holy Spirit through your spirit.

There is no need to carry your burdens all by yourself any more. You can tell it to Jesus in a coded language.

ACTION STEPS
1. Be assured of your salvation with the Lord today.
2. Pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit if you are yet to received it. To receive the prayer language.

3. Maintain a tight fellowship with the Lord through the Holy Spirit daily.

PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, Thank you for today's devotional guide. Fill me with your Holy Spirit always in Jesus' name. Amen.

**Smith Wigglesworth – “Apostle of Faith”**

**Early Transformation & First Miracle**

Now, there was a time when Smith Wigglesworth was quite busy with his plumbing tools in Leeds, where the pipes would creak and leak, just like the conversations in the neighborhood. But amidst all that hustle, he found himself drawn to healing meetings. It was a curious affair indeed! One day, his dear wife Polly, who had been struggling with a chronic ailment, experienced what can only be described as a miraculous healing. This unexpected turn of events set Smith on a path of faith that would change everything, leading him directly into the heart of healing ministry.

Imagine this: during a meeting one evening, the regular pastor was absent, and our dear Smith thought it fitting to take the stage. With a nervous heart and a stuttered sermon, he somehow found his voice and—lo and behold!—fifteen people were healed right then and there. You could say it fanned the flames of his passion for this miraculous work!

**Baptism in the Spirit**

Now, fast forward to 1907, where Smith, with wide eyes and an eager spirit, stumbled into a peculiar Pentecostal gathering in Sunderland. With a few enthusiastic questions about “tongues” (not the type you find in a good meal, mind you), he was promptly shown the door. But did that stop him? Not at all! After a heartfelt prayer in the speaker’s wife’s living room, he found himself speaking in tongues—a thrilling escapade back to that meeting, where fifty souls were filled with the Spirit. Quite the show, I’d say!

**Miraculous Healings & Spiritual Confrontations**

Now, there are stories, and then there are stories! One particularly remarkable episode involved a young woman on the brink of death from consumption. Smith, full of determination and perhaps a dash of desperation, prayed over her for four whole hours. Suddenly, a vision of Jesus appeared to him, and wouldn’t you know it? The young lady sprang back to life, resuming her piano playing that very morning as if nothing had happened!

And then there was Mitchell, a man at death’s door. Sadly, when Smith arrived, it seemed Mitchell had taken the ultimate plunge. But Smith wasn’t one to take a loss quietly; he boldly commanded death to release him. To everyone’s surprise, Mitchell revived and went on to recover as well! Talk about a scene straight out of a play!

Now, Smith had an unconventional approach—he believed in hitting the afflicted parts of the body, claiming he was “hitting the devil, not them.” Well, if you ask me, it’s quite a daring way to send sickness packing!

**Trials of Faith & Physical Ailments**

In a rather self-assured manner, our Smith vowed never to take medicine. But life had other plans, and when appendicitis struck with a vengeance, doctors considered his case hopeless. With a commanding spirit, he once again told the “devil” to leave, and lo! He was healed instantly, returning to work the very next day, tools in hand.

Smith faced a long battle with kidney stones, sciatica, and eventually a stroke. Despite the pain, he believed these trials were like fine clay molding him for greater things. And you know, he didn’t let a little discomfort keep him from ministering across the globe!

**Public Campaigns & Legacy**

From the bustling streets of the U.K. to the wide-open skies of Australia, Smith took his ministry far and wide. Stories of blind eyes opening, crippled legs walking, and cancers disappearing became the tales that traveled with him. In 1937, while in South Africa, he even prophesied a grand revival, telling David du Plessis, “the day I pass away, then you can begin to think about it.” Such confidence!

**Final Moments & Death**

On the 12th of March, 1947, while attending the funeral of his friend Wilf Richardson, Smith had an unexpected final act—he collapsed and bid goodbye to the earthly stage, continuing to preach until the very end! A grand finale, one might say.

At his funeral, he left behind four guiding principles for those who remained:

1. Read God’s Word.
2. Let it consume you.
3. Believe it.
4. Act on it.

His voice still echoes in the hearts of many within the Pentecostal and charismatic communities.

**Summary of Key Exploits**

Smith's legacy is dotted with miraculous healings—tumors, tuberculosis, and even those pesky appendicitis troubles. Some even say he managed to resurrect loved ones, a claim that made more than a few heads turn.

His spirit-led and confrontational approach—casting out tricky spirits through audacious prayer—stands as a testament to his unwavering faith. Despite battling illness, he thrived in service and inspired many. And let’s not forget his prophecies of future revivals, which many credit in shaping the charismatic movements.

Daily devotion for July 13th
Halfway Christians
Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus, and found some disciples. He said to them, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?

Acts 19:1b-2a
When Paul came to Ephesus he found men and women who had been told about Jesus, at least to the extent of the baptism of John. He obviously thought they were Christians when he first met them. But, as he watched them, he observed that something was missing, and I am sure there is puzzlement in his voice when finally he says to them, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? This question indicates that the normal Christian pattern is that the Spirit is given immediately upon belief in Jesus Christ. There is no suggestion here that the Spirit of God is given a long period after belief in Christ.

There are many people who believe in Jesus and yet who today do not evidence much sign of the work of the Holy Spirit. There are many churches in our land today where, as I am privileged sometimes to speak in them, I want to say to the people, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? There is no sign of it.

The Holy Spirit is given upon belief in the Lord Jesus, but that does not stop with one act of believing. We are to keep on believing in the Lord Jesus and thus to manifest his power and vitality in our lives. It is that continual act of believing which releases the freshness of the Spirit in our lives. Paul says to the Colossians, As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him... (Colossians 2:6 RSV). As you received him by an act of believing, keep on believing, walk in him, live in him, so that you might demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit.

So what is wrong if there is no evidence of the working of the Spirit? None of the joy, none of the grace, none of the power? It is because we are not believing in him. We believed in him once, but that believing has ceased. There is now no sense of expectancy, no fresh anticipation of his working in our lives today.

Are there signs of the Spirit of God in your life? Are his presence, his power, his working, the freshness, the vitality, the enthusiasm, the excitement of the Spirit visible in your Christian life? If not, you have ceased believing in Jesus. There must be this expectation of his working, for he makes himself available to us continually, moment by moment, to fulfill every demand life makes upon us, as we expect him to do so. That note of expectancy is the evidence, or the sign, of faith which marks the difference between the sterility, the deadness, and the dullness of religiosity without the Spirit, and the fullness, the freshness, and the vigor and power of a Spirit-filled life. So this question, addressed to these halfway Christians of long ago Ephesus, still has meaning for us today, as we understand the need for a continual act of faith in the Lord Jesus.

Lord Jesus, how frequently I fail to understand the truth of your promise that you have come to live within me. Grant to me anew, Lord, the faith to lay hold of this promise and to make visible in my life.

TOPIC: THE SECRET OF WISDOM.

SCRIPTURE: And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. JOB 28:28.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Iniquity fuels stupidity, but integrity sharpens mentality.

It has been confirmed that wisdom is behind the making of kingdom stars. Proverbs 8:15,16 says, By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. Nothing puts people in charge like wisdom.

Having seen the critical necessity of wisdom, it is important to explore the secrets of wisdom. Today, we shall be looking at one secret of wisdom which is The fear of the Lord (Job 28:28, Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 9:10 and Proverbs 15:33).

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Anyone who fears God cannot escape wisdom, and the one who does not fear God has no option but to be buried in stupidity.

The truth is, iniquity fuels stupidity, but integrity sharpens mentality. For example, Solomon came to a point where he lost all integrity, so he lost his mentality until he married seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines.

Now, what is the fear of the Lord?

1. The fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil. Those who fear God hate evil. They are not comfortable with bribery, corruption, cheating, duping, immorality, lying, stealing, etc. They have a conscience that is alive and awake.

2. The fear of the Lord is the keeping of His commandments. (Ecclesiastes 12:13). When we follow His instruction, we flow in His inspiration.

3. The fear of the Lord is existence in the consciousness of His Presence (Psalm 14:5). The Presence of the Lord imparts fear, and the fear of the Lord imparts the consciousness of God’s Presence. God is not physically there but you operate as though He is physically there.

Beloved, when you connect with the fear of the Lord, you connect with wisdom. And when you connect with wisdom, you connect with stardom, royalty and the Blessing.

Remember this: Iniquity fuels stupidity, but integrity sharpens mentality.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Let the fear of God precede every action you take.

2. Avoid living in guilt.

3. Maintain the company of the Holy Ghost.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to love, reverence and fear You. Help me to operate in the realm of wisdom, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

SETTING YOUR WORLD ON FIRE!


TEXT: EZEK 10:1- 7

Lighted men become God’s firebrands! Everywhere a lighted man goes, he produces heat and burning! A lighted man quickly becomes an agent of the consuming fire of God! A lighted man also becomes a distributor of the fires of God! When we contact, connect to, or collect the fires of God, we are expected to go out and spread it within the vicinity! It is our ministry as fire carriers that checks the activities of wickedness, turns many to righteousness and drives the devil into frustration!

Prayer points:

1. Pray, ‘Father I thank you for the Holy Spirit. Thank you for his power and fire! Tonight, I receive his fire baptism! I receive the deposit of divine fire upon my head! I receive a new prophetic tongue! My words will not fall to the ground!’
2. Lk 11:36. Pray, ‘In Jesus name, I allow the fire & light of God to enter into every area of my life! I refuse any area to harbor anything dark! No sickness, bondage & shame shall abide in my life! Let the fire consume it now! Fire!
3. Jn 5:35. Pray, ’O Lord, by your fire, make me a burning and a shining light in my generation! My destiny must shine forth! Many shall come to the brightness of my rising! My grace cannot be ignored! I will not die small!’
4. Isa 9:8. Pray, ‘Lord, let the light and fire in me spread to my father’s house! Father, light up my family! Let the covenant that covers me cover them! Let your glory and your blessing overtake them because of me! Visit us by fire!’
5. Jer 23:28-29. Pray, ‘Tonight, every negative dream and prophecy against my life: catch fire! I cancel every word released against my life through prophetic witchcraft and dream manipulations! I cancel every negative word!’
6. Judg 15:4-5. Pray, ‘In Jesus name, I enter as a blazing fire into the field of the wicked! I burn up every work of hell! I deny the devil any harvest in the church, in my city and in my family! Every planting of the devil; catch fire!’
7. 2 Kgs 1:10-12. Pray, ‘O God, there are people who need to know that I am yours! Lord, answer them by the judgment of fire! Tonight, let the fire of judgment go forth and destroy every agent of hell set against my destiny!’
8. Pray, ‘O’ Lord, you have sent me to light up many lives! I receive your anointing to minister your word! I receive your grace to turn men from darkness into light! Miracles and wonders will follow my life in Jesus name!
9. Ps 104:4. Pray, ‘This year, everywhere I go, let there be a God encounter! Let the mantles that I have contacted begin to speak! Let every grace in this house be manifest in me! I am anointed! There is fire in my hand! Fire!’
10. Pray, ‘O Lord, this revival will never end! This grace will never diminish! Darkness will never return to my life! Strange people and forces will not quench my fire! I receive your covenant of unending grace in Jesus name!’

Just say it and make your promises or vows. Let your YES be Yes and let your NO be No. We make vows at Baptism, weddings, and ordinations. My vows to the Lord l will fulfil. *THE FIRE IS HERE*

Step-by-Step: The Catholic Church after the death of a Pope

1. Confirmation of Death

The Camerlengo (Chamberlain of the Holy Roman Church) officially confirms the pope’s death.
Traditionally, he gently calls the pope’s baptismal name three times. If there's no response, he declares the pope dead.

2. Destruction of the Fisherman’s Ring

The Fisherman’s Ring, a signet used to seal official documents, is broken by the Camerlengo in the presence of cardinals.
This prevents its misuse and symbolizes the end of the pope’s authority.

3. Official Announcement

The Vatican makes an official public announcement.
Bells may toll and mourning customs begin, including the flying of flags at half-staff in some places.

4. Nine Days of Mourning –

A period of official mourning lasts nine days, during which Masses are offered for the repose of the pope’s soul.
The body is prepared and displayed in St. Peter’s Basilica for public veneration.

5. Burial

The pope is traditionally buried in the crypt beneath St. Peter’s Basilica (though he may request another resting place).
The body is usually placed in three coffins: wood, lead, and another wooden coffin, each placed inside the other.

6. Sede Vacante (Vacant See)

During this time, all governance of the Church is paused, except for routine matters handled by the Camerlengo.
No new appointments or major decisions can be made until a new pope is elected.

7. Preparation for the Conclave

The College of Cardinals gathers in Rome.
After at least 15 days but no more than 20 days following the pope’s death, the conclave begins to elect a new pope.
Only cardinals under 80 years old are eligible to vote.

8. The Conclave

Held in the Sistine Chapel under strict secrecy.
Voting continues until a candidate receives two-thirds majority.
After a successful vote, the elected cardinal is asked: “Do you accept your canonical election as Supreme Pontiff?”
If he says yes, he chooses a papal name.

9. The New Pope is Announced

The cardinal proto-deacon steps onto the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica and declares:
“Habemus Papam!” (We have a Pope!)
The new pope then appears and gives his first Urbi et Orbi blessing.
