The deaths in our country continue unabated, as one reads the heartbreaking stories that have become our daily reality.
With the brutal killings of over 100 people in Zamfara, including our revered military men, Mr. President, it is time to accept the inevitable truth and act decisively.
Nigeria is at war. We can no longer afford the dangerous denial. The number of lives lost in Nigeria now mirrors countries at war, and the death in our own country even happens more often than in countries at war.
We cannot continue like this. It is time to prioritise the security of lives over infrastructure projects. Governance must now become about saving lives,
not cutting ribbons and headlining ceremonies on front pages.
Every child buried, every soldier slain, every Nigerian abducted, is a loud cry that leadership must hear. The true measure of leadership is not in the number of roads built or bridges commissioned, but in how many lives are preserved, how many families sleep in peace, and how many communities thrive without fear of bandits.
This is no longer about politics, it is about the survival of Nigerians. The soul of our nation is bleeding, and only true leadership can save our dear country.

Day 5 of Salary Detox Challenge: Say No to Impulse.
About 10 years ago, our current Group General Manager was still working as my PA. One afternoon, One investment opportunity came and I asked her a simple question:
“Have you saved up to a million naira for investment?”
She looked at me and told me frankly that she hadn’t even saved half of that. So I sat her down, not to judge her, but to help her find the leak.
I advised her to thoroughly go through her expenses, one by one, and what she found out shocked both of us.
She was a hard worker, a high performer… but her bank account didn’t reflect her effort.
Why did i say that? Impulse buying.
She would walk into supermarkets without a list, buying whatever caught her eye just because there was money in her account.
She would scroll online and buy anything that looked “fine” or trendy, whether she needed it or not.
She gave money emotionally to anyone who asked, as if she alone could solve everybody’s problems.
And she always believed in her mind that you dont have to worry, the next salary is coming.
That mindset was eating deep into her future and she never noticed it.
So I gave her a new order,
Never enter a supermarket or any market environment without a written list.
Told her to sell the things she bought but never used.
And adviced her to stick to a monthly budget and save up 50% of her salary for investment if she was too hungry to succeed. Also, to stop giving out money emotionally.
That was her turning point. And today? She leads an entire group. She didn’t just stop impulse buying, she started building wealth and modelling it intentionally.
So today's Challenge, you too must face the spirit of impulse that’s eating your future.
Say NO to anything not in your budget.
Say NO to emotions at checkout.
Say NO to "I feel like it."
Please, say no to impulse and fix the leak, then say YES to discipline and to your future.

How to Cook Cake with Candle
In a small house near Makeni town, big drama was cooking literally
It was Papa’s anniversary, and the family wanted to surprise him with a nice homemade cake. So daughter Fatmata, who once watched half of a baking video on YouTube (and didn’t finish it), took charge.
She marched into the kitchen, mixed flour with Fanta (don’t ask why), added sugar, and poured everything into a plate. Then she carefully placed a giant candle right on top.
Her face was serious. She looked like a contestant on MasterChef Sierra Leone.
Mama! I’m preparing a cake for Papa’s party!. she shouted proudly, smiling like she invented baking.
Mama Kadiatu walked in, saw the cake, saw the candle and nearly fainted.
Look at where your fire is, Mama shouted.
How will the cake cook like that.! The fire is on TOP.. Remove the fire and put it UNDER the cake, you idiat
Fatmata blinked.
Mama but the candle is fire nah
Yes, but this one is decoration fire, Not cooking fire, yaaaa
The neighbors outside started laughing.
Uncle Alhaji peeped through the window and said, Fatmata, please next time just buy bread and call it cake.. It’s safer
Even the cat ran from the kitchen like, This house no dey safe
Papa entered just in time to see the candle melting into the flour soup-cake.
He looked at everyone and said, If this is the surprise, please return me to bed. I want peace, not polzon
And that’s how Papa’s party cake became pap (custard) with wax flavor.
