President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Meets with New Catholic Pope to Strengthen Diplomatic and Interfaith Relations

Vatican City / Abuja, Sunday 28th May, 2025 — In a historic and symbolic encounter, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the Federal Republic of Nigeria met with His Holiness Robert Prevost of the New the newly installed head of the Roman Catholic Church, at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City.

The meeting marks a significant moment in Nigeria-Vatican relations, as both leaders emphasized the importance of promoting global peace, interfaith dialogue, and collaborative humanitarian efforts. President Tinubu congratulated the Holy Father on his ascension to the papacy and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to fostering religious harmony and social development.
