• Ile-Akun is a small town where Chioma and Kunle lived before. They had known each other since they were kids. They climbed mango trees together, whispering great plans and dreams to each other long into the night . Meeting like that always rekindled a special spark between them. As they grew older, their friendship deepened, and it turned into something more. They started dating during their last year of secondary school.

Chioma was lively and outgoing , while Kunle was more of a quiet thinker . They balanced each other well, and everyone in the community admired their bond. However, as the long holiday approached, things started to change.

One sunny afternoon , Chioma excitedly planned her holiday. She wanted to join a charity group helping orphaned children in the community. Kunle, on the other hand, had plans to work at his uncle’s mechanic shop to save money for university. As they sat under a big Udala tree discussing their plans, Chioma said,

"Kunle, I really want to help these kids. It’s important to me. Can’t you consider joining me?"

Kunle shrugged and replied, "That’s great, Chioma, but I need to help my uncle this holiday. I can’t just leave that behind."

Chioma felt disappointment wash over her. She had really hoped he would want to be part of something meaningful. "But we can make a difference together! The program is only a few hours a week," she insisted.

"I just think working is more practical," Kunle said, trying to sound reasonable. "I need to focus on my future too."

The discussion turned into an argument.

"Kunle, you never want to do anything fun or different, do you? " Chioma exclaimed.
"And you never think about what’s necessary in life! " Kunle shouted back.

After that day, they barely spoke. The silence between them grew heavier. Chioma signed up for the volunteering program, while Kunle spent long hours at the mechanic shop, fixing cars and motorcycles . Once, they used to gist and laugh together, but now, everything was different. They would see each other at the junction where people sold roasted corn and suya but barely exchanged words.

Weeks passed, and soon, the town announced the annual Ile-Akun New Yam Festival . Everyone was excited—it was a tradition for Chioma and Kunle to attend together. But this year was different. Chioma wanted to spend time with her new friends from the volunteer group, leaving Kunle alone at home, feeling left out .

On the day of the festival, the air was filled with the aroma of jollof rice, grilled fish, and palm wine . Chioma had fun dancing to Afrobeats 🕺🏾, playing ayo olopon , and helping set up stalls. Yet, a part of her missed Kunle’s company. She caught a glimpse of him across the street, laughing with some guys near a suya stand. Seeing him enjoy himself without her made her heart ache .

Kunle also spotted her, their eyes locked for a few seconds. Memories of childhood, of sneaking puff-puff from Mama Nkechi’s roadside shop, of watching Nollywood movies together, flooded his mind. But just as quickly as the moment came, it disappeared, and they both turned away.

After the festival, Chioma felt lonely. She realized how much she missed Kunle . One evening, as the sun set in golden hues over the red earth , she decided to visit him. She knocked on his door, her heart beating fast. Finally, Kunle opened it, surprised to see her.

"Hi," Chioma said softly, playing with the edge of her Ankara dress.

"Hey," Kunle replied, his voice carrying both surprise and caution.

They stood there in silence before Chioma finally spoke.

    "I’ve missed you, Kunle. "

"I missed you too," Kunle admitted. "But things have been… complicated."

"I know," she sighed. "I thought this holiday would bring us closer, but it feels like the opposite happened."

Kunle nodded, rubbing his forehead. "I didn’t mean to push you away. I just thought I needed to focus on work."

"I understand, but I also wanted to share this experience with you," Chioma replied softly. "I didn’t want to lose you."

Kunle looked down, realization hitting him. "I guess I was so focused on my own plans that I didn’t see what I was missing."

Chioma stepped closer. "Can we fix this? I think we should support each other, but communication is key."

Kunle smiled for the first time in weeks . "Okay. I’ll try to make more time for us and listen to you. I promise to support your dreams as long as I have breath."

They both exhaled, as if a weight had been lifted. The warmth of resolution spread between them like the first rain after harmattan . Chioma reached out and held Kunle’s hand .

"Let’s promise to always talk, no matter what."

"Deal," Kunle said, his heart lighter.

From that day, they made a real effort to balance their lives. Kunle sometimes helped at the orphanage, and Chioma brought food to the mechanic shop while they chatted. They learned to respect and appreciate each other even more.

As the long holiday ended and school resumed, they knew their bond had grown stronger. One evening, sitting on their favorite bench under the stars , Kunle turned to Chioma and said,

"I think we can face anything if we just keep talking."

Chioma smiled. "We are a team, Kunle. No matter what."

And that began a new chapter for Chioma and Kunle—side by side, ready to take on whatever life threw at them.

  • SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE

    DATE: THURSDAY 3RD APRIL, 2025

TOPIC: ACTION – A PROOF OF DISSATISFACTION

SCRIPTURE: And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye." (2 Kings 6:1-2)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Even if you don’t like your current circumstances, until you make practical moves to leave where you are, nothing will change.

It has been established that a major key to greatness, progress, and prosperity in life is dissatisfaction with current situation. If you are satisfied with where you are, you can hardly experience any progress, change or breakthrough in life.

However, when you reach a point of deep dissatisfaction with poverty, mediocrity, failure, or stagnation, you are beginning to position yourself for success, increase, and prosperity.
Beloved, maybe you are saying, “I am dissatisfied with my current state, yet nothing has changed.”

The truth is this: It is the moves you make that confirm your dissatisfaction with your situation, and not just your feeling or thought. If your dissatisfaction remains a thought or feeling without action, your situation will never change.

True dissatisfaction should propel you to take deliberate, intentional and practical steps that bring about progress and transformation. Even if you don’t like your current circumstances, until you make practical moves to leave where you are, nothing will change.

It is the steps you take that prove that you genuinely want something better out of life.
If you are truly dissatisfied with failure, you will take bold and strategic steps to rise above it.

For example, if a lady is still living with a man she is not married to and claims she dislikes the situation, her claims may not be taken seriously.

It is only when she takes steps to leave or make amends that it becomes evident that she genuinely wants a change.

Staying there and doing nothing means she is comfortable with her situation, whether she admits it or not.

Remember this: Even though you don’t like your current status in life, until you take bold, desperate actions to change your situation, nothing will shift.

    ASSIGNMENTS:

    1. Identify practical steps you need to take to move from where you are to where you need to be.

    2. Take immediate action—do not delay or procrastinate.

    PRAYER:
Father, I receive the grace to take decisive and practical action steps to leave where I am and move to where I ought to be. Help me to overcome the spell of procrastination so I can act with urgency, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE:
    Breaking the Cycle of Failure

    QUOTE:
"There is no success without secrets. There is no possibility without responsibility." (Culled from the book, 30 Secrets to the Top by Dr. Paul Enenche)

    DAILY READING:
    2 Chronicles 4-6

    AMAZING FACT:
Elephants can run and swim at surprisingly fast speeds, showcasing their remarkable strength and agility.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Receive the baptism of dissatisfaction with the status quo and the discipline for a change of action in this season in Jesus’ Name.

  • Two days ago we celebrated mother's day, come to think of it who is a mother?

A mother is someone who nurtures, cares for, and provides love and support to a child. This can be biological, adoptive, or even in a chosen family dynamic. A mother isn’t just defined by giving birth but by the role she plays in a child's life—offering guidance, protection, and unconditional love.

    Characteristics of a mother

A mother is often characterized by a mix of emotional, psychological, and practical qualities. While every mother is unique, some common characteristics include:

    1. Unconditional Love – A mother’s love is deep, unwavering, and not based on conditions. She cares for her children regardless of their flaws.

    2. Nurturing Nature – She provides emotional and physical support, ensuring her children feel safe, loved, and cared for.

    3. Patience – Raising children requires immense patience, from teaching life lessons to handling tantrums.

    4. Selflessness – A mother often puts her child’s needs before her own, sacrificing time, sleep, and personal desires for their well-being.

    5. Strength and Resilience – She remains strong through challenges, whether emotional, financial, or personal, to support her family.

    6. Guidance and Wisdom – A mother imparts life lessons, values, and knowledge, helping her children navigate life’s ups and downs.

    7. Protectiveness – She instinctively protects her child from harm, whether emotional or physical.

    8. Compassion and Empathy – Understanding her child’s feelings and struggles, she provides comfort and reassurance.

    9. Dedication and Hard Work – Whether she’s a stay-at-home mom, a working mother, or balancing both, she is committed to providing a better life for her child.

    10. Forgiveness – Even when children make mistakes, a mother forgives and continues to support them.

While these characteristics are common, motherhood looks different for everyone. Some mothers may express love through actions rather than words, while others may be more emotional.

What do you think defines a mother best?

Let's have your opinion on this

  • Listen son, women do not fall in love based on logic. They always do it being guided by th3ir emotion. They enter a relationship being guided by their feelings, depending on what they feel that very moment. This is why they will always leave an engineer to date a tout. This is why you cannot advice them in their prime. They wanna date the bad boy who is not serious with them because he stirs their feelings. This is why advising your teenage daughter about marrying certain type of men will prove futile.

Always understand that this strategy changes with phases, time and age. They will now stop following their emotions when loving a man when they have already made mistakes of their lives. When their prime have lapsed and they are now single modas with baggage, when their value has depleted. They will now tend to use logic in dating because they want security. Only f00l!sh meπ will offer this security when they are done done messing.

Let them carry their own crosses. As a father, you will find yourself feeling sad because of your daughter who could not listen to you and now she married the wrong man. This happened in my family. My grandfather warned one of his daughters about marrying into a certain family. According to my grandmother, he told her,

"I know these people. Do not dare, my daughter. You will cry and I will hear in my grave." This came to pass. My grandfather was long dead when our aunt saw shege in broad daylight.

When women are young and wild, they follow their desires, they give themselves to whomever makes them go gaga! They follow where pleasure is served until it is time to settle down when they change moves.

This is why as a man you should never lie to yourself that you are the one she loves not that she agreed to marry you, no! You can afford to pay her bills, you have a house, some money and security. This is why she forego the other guy she truly loved for you. Her love for you is intentional.

She may be seeing her ex. And she might sleep with any other man she had before you. She married you because she needed the security which other men who made her go gaga could not fulfil. So, you were accepted because you came with a package others could not afford. So stop bragging, eh.

This is why you should strive in looking for a younger woman who've had no history with men because all of them will always live engraved in her soul. They will live rent free in her mind. It is like a form of digital print in a dark web that cannot be erased.

Whoever has found himself a womaπ with zero body count has found himself a good thing. The relationship is likely to be more solid than the one the womaπ is a retired veteran..

  • THE USE OF SALT AS A HACK

  • The dánger of feeling that your beauty is your only way of attracting wealthy men is that, when things don’t go as planned, you may feel pressured to start commercializing your body.

If you have the opportunity and resources to hustle, please, hustle like no man is coming to save you.

See eh? Hustle as if your beauty won't attract wealthy men.

Hustle as if no one will come to save you if you don’t make it.

When we talk about hustling, it can sound ambiguous.

But I tell you, doing something that can at least cover your bills is part of hustling.

It might not satisfy your wants now, but it can cover your basic needs.

All I'm advocating for is for you to have the right mindset.
Believe in your ability to create wealth, change your mentality, and stop seeing money as gender based.

You don’t also need to do illegal and immoral things before you can make it.

Let me tell you, there are women who achieved success and climbed the ladder of fame without compromising their values.

They shifted their mindset from feeling entitled to support and took responsibility for their own success.

Just have the right mindset and determination, you will be shocked how much you will achieve.

Doubts and entitlement are your only distraction!
