THOUGHT FOR THE DAY *God doesn't hold back any good thing from those who walk with Him intimately on this earth* MESSAGE There is so much to learn from this foremost elder of the Old Testament, Enoch: he was the first to establish an uncommon intimacy with God in His generation. Today's text tells us that he walked with God in such a way that God had to personally take him out of the earth. He fought odds no doubt to walk with God in an unconventional way. He walked with God like nobody before him ever did, therefore God showed him a special mercy like no other before him. It was his level of intimate walk with God that brought him to the realm of walking into the celestial city without seeing death. He was one among the few that the earth was not worthy of keeping. There's a dimension of intimacy with God that will make an individual enter the realm of exceptional experiences reserved only for selected few. Enoch was one among the elders that obtained a good report by depending on what God told them. And for 300years of consistent intimacy with God he pleased God all the way that God decided that he must eat of the tree of life while still on earth: a privilege that Adam and Eve lost in the garden through their disobedience. Elijah the Tishbite was another person who had a similar experience by his level of uncommon intimacy with God, he too was specially taken out of the earth without tasting death. *God doesn't hold back any good thing from those who walk with Him intimately on this earth.* The Bible says in: Psalms 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Walking with God is the exceptional privilege of humans that is greatly desired by Angels. They would gladly give anything to have a personal walk with God. The numerous bizarre and bewitching distractions of this world, the pressure to belong to a class of happening circles, the rat race of picking bills, and meeting needs, marital obligations etc; all tug the souls of men and cause them to stagger, reeling back and forth as men fight their ways through life. However, in the midst of these pressures, God's Word is our most authentic and reliable guide. Individuals who would keep God's word handy, reading always with hearts lighted by the Holy Spirit, will never miss their ways in this darkening world. The entrance of God's Word will always give light and understanding to the simple. On the other hand, there are people who use religion as a covering to do wicked things. They are in the church and other worship places but are working for Satan directly or indirectly by their lifestyles. They're involved in all manners of evil practices; covetousness, immorality, greed, avarice, etc. These have identified themselves as agents of Satan by their works. To these ones, hell-fire is prepared. Beloved, hell is full of many powerful people who thought following the ways of God was stupid and archaic, only for them to be repenting severally when their repentance was useless. The Secrets of Solomon: A Witch’s Handbook from the Venetian Inquisition This 2018 edition (edited and translated by Joseph H. Peterson) presents The Secrets of Solomon, a grimoire said to have been confiscated by the Venetian Inquisition in 1636. Peterson describes it as a collection of “secret techniques for dealing with the more dangerous spirits or daemons,” compiled from trial records and published in English for the first time. In 16th–18th century Venice the Holy Office (Inquisizione di Stato) prosecuted heresy, superstition and witchcraft under the joint authority of the Venetian Republic and the Church. The Inquisition was active in cases of “prohibited books, superstition, and witchcraft”. In Venice’s cosmopolitan society, magical beliefs persisted even under ecclesiastical scrutiny. The book’s central theme is infernal magic. It opens with three chief spirits (daemons) and their many servants, a hierarchy explicitly described as “chthonic and possibly infernal” beings rather than the airy spirits of classical Solomonic lore. In this sense it is seen as a precursor to the later Grimorium Verum, providing “variants on the spirit lists and procedures” that appear there. Another major section treats the spirits of the seven celestial spheres and the four elements. These high spirits are served by mysterious entities called “Amalthai,” and elaborate rituals are given for invoking each planetary angel and elemental daemon. Peterson notes that this part includes “a long series of instructions for approaching the greater spirits through ritual, along with a set of talismans to be employed toward various ends”. Unlike many grimoires attributed to Solomon, this one comes from real Inquisition trial documents. It offers a rare snapshot of what actual 17th-century Venetian occult practitioners recorded as their magical knowledge.
