Can this happen in Nigeria?

Since 2012, Brazil has implemented a program known as "Remission for Reading," which allows prisoners to reduce their sentences by reading books and writing reports.

For each approved book report, inmates can have four days deducted from their sentence, with a maximum of 12 books per year, totaling up to 48 days annually.

The program aims to promote literacy, critical thinking, and personal development among inmates, facilitating their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Participants select books from the prison library, which includes materials in Braille, audiobooks, and foreign languages to accommodate diverse needs.

After reading, inmates have 10 days to write a review demonstrating their understanding of the text.

These reviews are evaluated by a commission comprising educators, librarians, and civil society representatives.

This initiative has been recognized for its positive impact on inmates' lives, offering them a constructive way to reduce their sentences while fostering personal growth and reducing recidivism.

In the bustling town of No Chill Junction, drama unfolds on a dimly lit street.

Meet Koffi, a self-proclaimed savings expert and part-time romance consultant who recently made headlines (in his own mind) by dumping his glamorous girlfriend, Belinda, for a more budget-friendly partner the bald and beautiful Ama.

Belinda, decked out in her glowing green fashion (rumored to be made from leftover Christmas decorations), storms the streets like a woman on a mission.

Heeey Koffi! So it’s because of this village champion that you dumped me ehh, she screams, pointing dramatically like a Nollywood actress in her season finale.

Koffi, walking confidently beside Ama (whose head gleams like a polished mango under the streetlight), doesn’t even flinch. In his mind, he's a financial guru. His thoughts are louder than Belinda’s accusations:
With her, I don’t spend money on Brazilian hair

Belinda gasps. The betrayal. The disrespect. The audacity

Ama, meanwhile, smiles with smug bald-headed brilliance, holding onto Koffi like a trophy wife from the Minimalist Olympics. She didn’t need curls to win. Just shine and silence.

Belinda flips her weave so hard a pigeon faints nearby. “Brazilian hair. Koffi, you cheap wi-fi signal of a man Is it not you that used to cry when I asked for 8 inches

Koffi chuckles and whispers to Ama, At least now I don’t cry in the salon queue
