*GOSPEL REFLECTION: Gestures of Love*
_June 5, 2025_
_Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: “I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.” (John 17:20–21)_
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been continually reading from Chapter 14–17 of John’s Gospel. These chapters contain Jesus’ Last Supper Discourses and provide us with Jesus’ last sermon, so to speak. Chapter 17, which we have been reading this past week, presents us with Jesus’ final prayer for His disciples and for all of us “who will believe” in Him through the preaching of the disciples. Each time we read from Chapter 17, the Lectionary begins the reading with the phrase “Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying…” That line is an adaptation of Chapter 17:1 but is used to introduce the various parts of the prayer of Jesus each time it is read at Mass.
It’s interesting that Jesus would look up to Heaven when He prayed. Of course, Heaven is not physically in the sky, because Heaven is a spiritual reality. The Father is not located in some place in the sky but is omnipresent, meaning, present all places and all times. And yet, Jesus raises His eyes upward when He prays to the Father. There is a great lesson in this.
Our physical disposition is important, at times. For example, when someone we owe respect to enters a room, we usually rise and greet them. It would be disrespectful to remain lounging on a bed or sofa in that case. And at Mass, we do not sit back with legs crossed during the Consecration; rather, we kneel in adoration. And when we greet someone for the first time, we do not look at the floor; rather, we look them in the eyes.
Jesus’ act of “Lifting his eyes to heaven” was not done because He thought He might see the Father in the sky; rather, it was done out of respect and love and as a way of acknowledging the dignity of the Father. This should teach us about our own bodily disposition and the message we communicate to others, especially to God in prayer.
When you pray, what do you do? Though you can pray at any time and while in any disposition, it is an excellent practice to speak to God not only by your words but also by the disposition you take. Kneeling, raising hands in prayer, falling prostrate before your Lord, sitting upright with attentiveness, etc., are all ways in which you communicate to God your love.

*Reflect,* today, upon this image of Jesus praying. Gaze at how attentive He would have been as He lifted His sacred eyes upward as a physical gesture honoring the glorious, all-powerful Father in Heaven. Try to imagine Jesus’ devotion, intensity, respect and burning love. Imitate this holy gesture of prayer and attentiveness to the Father and remind yourself of the importance of expressing your love in bodily form.
*PRAYER:*
_My most holy Father in Heaven, I do join Your Son, Jesus, in lifting my eyes, my heart and my whole life to You in honor, love and respect. May I always be attentive to You and always show You the devotion due Your greatness. My dear Jesus, thank You for Your love of the Father in Heaven. Give me the grace I need to imitate You and Your perfect love in my life. WHY DID JESUS FOLD THE BURIAL CLOTH? THE ANSWER WILL BLOW YOUR MIND.
___________________
Have you ever asked yourself why the resurrected Christ, before leaving the tomb, folded the cloth used in covering Him?
Now let me shock you.
When Jesus rose from the dead, the Gospel of John gives us a quiet but stunning detail: “The cloth that had covered His head was folded up, separate from the other linens.” (John 20:7)
Why mention that?
Because in ancient Jewish tradition, this wasn’t just tidiness, it was a message.
When a Jewish master finished eating, he would crumple the napkin, a signal to the servant:
“I’m done.”
But if he folded it and placed it neatly, it meant:
“I’m not finished. I’m coming back.”
The neat arrangement of the cloths and the folded napkin in the tomb can also be seen as a symbol of order, demonstrating Jesus' control and the orderliness of his resurrection.
So when Peter and John entered the tomb and saw that folded cloth…
They didn’t just see linen.
They saw hope.
They saw a promise.
They saw the first sermon of the Resurrection, preached without a single word.
The King had conquered death, and left behind a note.
Not written in ink, but in gesture:
“I’m not done. I’m coming back.”
So if your life feels too broken...
If the silence has been loud...
If the darkness has made you forget the dawn...
Remember the folded cloth.
He is not done with this world.
He is not done with you.
He will return.
The folded linen is not just a detail.
It is a divine declaration.
A folded whisper that still shakes the earth.

OPEN HEAVEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: THURSDAY JUNE 5TH 2025
THEME: TRUE COMMITMENT TO GOD
MEMORISE: He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. Ecclesiastes 11:4
READ: Luke 21:1-4
1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
MESSAGE:
Many years ago, God spoke to me while I was preaching, and I shared it with the congregation. He said, "There is someone here; three breakthroughs are coming for you. When the first comes, 100% of the proceeds should be given to Me. When the second comes, you are to split it 50-50 between Me and you. The third one will be all yours." Some days later, a widow brought some money to me and said that it was the proceed of the first breakthrough God had mentioned. Because I knew she was struggling financially, I refused to collect the money, insisting that God may not have been referring to her. She insisted that I collect it, and I eventually did. I kept the money somewhere, ready to return it to her whenever she realized that she was not the one the prophecy was about. After some time, she returned and said, "Daddy, this is 50% of the second breakthrough." I collected it, prayed for her, and kept that also. A while later, she came back to me and said, "Daddy, the bank that said my husband owed them some money before he died called me recently to apologize. You know how I have been struggling to pay back the debt; however, they said that they had just discovered that my husband was not owing them. They mentioned that they were the ones owing him a lot of money, and now, they have paid me everything." She heard God's message and knew without a doubt that He was talking about her. She obeyed His instruction, even though it was not convenient, and she experienced greater breakthroughs.
Some people want to be comfortable financially and have more time before they can serve God. They want to have a better job before they pay their tithes. The widow in today's Bible reading proved her commitment to God by giving her all when it wasn't convenient. People who always want to wait until they are comfortable before they serve God often don't get to serve Him at all. Paul told Timothy to preach the gospel in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2). 'Out of season' refers to inconvenient moments, and those moments test our commitment to God.
Beloved, you don't prove your commitment to God when it is convenient for you to obey Him. Honor and obey God in season and out of season, and you will experience His overflowing blessings.
KEY POINT
Don't wait for a convenient time to serve God; give Him your all NOW.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 39-42
AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A ADEBOYE
HYMN 30: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there's no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we'll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.OPEN HEAVEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL DATE: THURSDAY JUNE 5TH 2025 THEME: TRUE COMMITMENT TO GOD MEMORISE: He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. *GOSPEL REFLECTION: Rejecting the evil one*
_June 4, 2025_
_“I gave them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the Evil One.” (John 17:14–15)_
Unfortunately, the evil one is real. He is the highest of the fallen angels who retain their natural spiritual power given them at their creation. God created all angelic creatures with the purpose of serving His holy will. The Scripture reveals that there are nine levels or “choirs” to which these angelic creatures belong. Among the fallen angels, the highest of them directs the others, and he is traditionally given the name Lucifer or “the devil.”
One of the natural spiritual powers that these fallen angelic creatures retain is the power of influence and suggestive thought. They were created to be messengers of God’s truth to us; but, in their fallen state, they seek to communicate confusion and lies instead. Therefore, it is very helpful to understand the way the evil one and the other fallen angels communicate to us so that we can reject their lies and listen only to the voice of God.
In his rules for the discernment of spirits, Saint Ignatius of Loyola explains that when a person is going “from mortal sin to mortal sin,” the evil one and the other demons continually propose to their imagination the “apparent pleasures” and “sensual delights” that they obtain from their sin as a way of keeping them firmly controlled by that sin. However, when a person is “intensely cleansing their sins and rising from good to better,” the evil one and the other demons act in a contrary way. They will “bite, sadden and put obstacles, disquieting with false reasons, that one may not go on” in their pursuit of holiness. God and the good angels will act in the opposite way. For those immersed in sin, God and the good angels will use “the opposite method, pricking them and biting their consciences through the process of reason” so as to draw them away from sin. And when a person is, in fact, growing in holiness, God and the good angels will “give courage and strength, consolations, tears, inspirations and quiet, easing, and putting away all obstacles, that one may go on in well doing” (See mycatholic.life/ignatius).
These spiritual lessons on the discernment of spirits are of great value and will assist you on your daily struggle with sin and your daily pursuit of holiness. Understanding the deceptions of the evil one and discerning the promptings of grace given by God bring clarity to our daily lives and direction to all of our actions. The good news that is revealed by the Scripture passage above is that our Lord is fully aware of the working of the evil one, has prayed for you and will assist you as you seek to combat these lies and deceptions in your life.

*Reflect,* today, upon the importance of learning how to discern both the voice of God and the lies of the evil one. Work to discern the voice of God so that you may follow Him more faithfully. And seek to discern the lies of the evil one so that you will not be influenced by him and can directly reject him. Commit yourself to a more rigorous discernment of these spiritual experiences in your life and allow this prayer of Jesus to direct you into His holy will.
*PRAYER:*
_My all-powerful Lord, You have conquered the evil one and provide all the grace I need to overcome his lies and deceptions. *SEVENTH WEEK OF EASTER YEAR C.*
*FIRST READING*
I commend you to God, who is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance.
*A reading from the Acts of the Apostles (ACTS 20: 28 - 38)*
In those days: Paul said to the elders of the Church of Ephesus, “Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you guardians, to feed the Church of the Lord which he obtained with his own blood. I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish every one with tears. And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. I coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel. You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities, and to those who were with me. In all things I have shown you that by so toiling one must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”’ And when he had spoken thus, he knelt down and prayed with them all. And they all wept and embraced Paul and kissed him, sorrowing most of all because of the word he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. And they brought him to the ship.
*The Word of the Lord.*
*RESPONSORIAL PSALM*
Taken from Psalm 68: 33 - 35a, 35b and 36b (R.) 33a
And the response is;
*R/. You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God.*
Or:
*Alleluia.*
Summon forth your might, O God;
your might, O God, which you have shown for us.
From your temple high in Jerusalem,
kings will come to you bringing their tribute. *R/.*
You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God, praise the Lord
who rides on the heavens, the ancient heavens.
Behold, he thunders his voice, his mighty voice.
Come, acknowledge the power of God. *R/.*
His glory is on Israel;
his might is in the skies.
Blest be God! *R/.*
*GOSPEL ACCLAMATION*
John 17: 17b, a
*Alleluia.*
Your word, O Lord, is truth; sanctify us in the truth.
*Alleluia.*
*GOSPEL*
May they be one, as we are one!
*A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (JOHN 17: 11b - 19)*
At that time: [Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and prayed, saying,] “Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me; I have guarded them, and none of them is lost but the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to you; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not pray that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be consecrated in truth.”

*The Word of the Lord.* *RESPONSORIAL PSALM* Taken from Psalm 68: 33 - 35a, 35b and 36b (R.) 33a And the response is; *R/. You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God.* Or: *Alleluia.* Summon forth your might, O God; your might, O God, which you have shown for us. From your temple high in Jerusalem, kings will come to you bringing their tribute. *R/.* You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God, praise the Lord who rides on the heavens, the ancient heavens. Behold, he thunders his voice, his mighty voice. Come, acknowledge the power of God. *R/.* His glory is on Israel; his might is in the skies. Blest be God! *R/.* *GOSPEL ACCLAMATION* John 17: 17b, a *Alleluia.* Your word, O Lord, is truth; sanctify us in the truth. *Alleluia.* *GOSPEL* May they be one, as we are one! *A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (JOHN 17: 11b - 19)* At that time: [Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and prayed, saying,] “Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be consecrated in truth.” *The Gospel of the Lord.* -

Good morning beloved
The Bible in Luke 1.26 says "And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth"
As unpopular as Nazareth then, God on the sixth month sent Angel Gabriel with good news to the whole world.
This sixth month I decree that Angels of God will locate you with messages that would showcase you to the entire world in Jesus name.
Welcome to your season of good tidings.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE 2025.
AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE
DATE: SATURDAY MAY 31ST, 2025.
THEME: SURRENDER ALL
MEMORISE:
“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.” - (Matthew 19:29)
READ: 1 KINGS 19:19-21 (KJV)
19 So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.
20 And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?
21 And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.
MESSAGE:
When Elijah went to Elisha's farm and threw his mantle on him, Elisha didn't waste time before he surrendered all to answer God's call. Elisha seemed to be a rich fellow because Elijah met him plowing with twelve yokes of oxen when he passed by him. However, Elisha didn't count this as anything because he returned home, killed a yoke of oxen, gave it to his people, and followed Elijah to become his servant. Within a day, the manager of an apparently thriving agricultural business became a prophet's servant.
Elisha ministered to Elijah and was known as the one who poured water on the hands of Elijah (2 Kings 3:11). The blessings Elisha got for surrendering all in service to God are unquantifiable. He received a double portion of Elijah's anointing (2 Kings 2:9-15), became a father to kings (2 Kings 6:21), and even after his death, his dry bones raised a dead man back to life (2 Kings 13:21). When a man surrenders all to the One who made him, he will live an impactful life.
From Elisha's story, we see that lasting greatness begins with absolute surrender. Any seed that will count for anything, must first enter into the soil and die. It must surrender its beauty and strength so as to rot in the earth before new life can sprout from it. Jesus said:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. (John 12:24-25)
Beloved, surrender all to the One who made you, and He will guide you aright. When you surrender your life to God, you are asking Him to help you because you don't know the best way to live your life. In John 15:5, Jesus said, "Without me, you can do nothing." Paul also knew the secret to absolute surrender, and that is why he said, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).
Those who surrender all to Jesus will gain more in the end. However, those who keep a part of their lives, like Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-2 end up losing even more than the things they are trying to keep.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to surrender all to You wholeheartedly.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JOB 17-20
HYMNAL: 7 - I AM THINE O LORD
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Refrain:
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
[Refrain]
3 Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
[Refrain]
4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT
WE HAVE MADE UNDENIABLE PROGRESS: PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU'S STATEMENT ON THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF HIS ADMINISTRATION ON MAY 29, 2025
Fellow Nigerians, as we mark the second anniversary of our administration, I salute your resilience and undaunted spirit. Two years ago, you entrusted me with the sacred responsibility to lead our nation at a time of historic challenges. Together, we have faced these headwinds with courage and determination.
The economic and general situation of the country I inherited required that we redirect the country's affairs with a bold and new vision. I immediately implemented two necessary policies to stop our country from further drifting into the precipice. It was apparent that if the federal government and the other two tiers of government must remain viable and cater to the citizens' welfare, we must do away with decades-long fuel subsidies and the corruption-ridden multiple foreign exchange windows. The two were no longer sustainable and have become a chokehold on our nation's neck, strangling our nation's future.
While our administration has implemented the reforms to restore and reinvigorate our national economy and strengthen our social fabric as a strong and united country, I must thank my fellow citizens for your unrelenting support and belief in the grand vision we share to uplift our nation and renew our collective hopes and aspirations.
We are halfway through the journey that began 24 months ago. Today, May 29, 2025, offers our administration the opportunity to share again how far we have gone and our progress in steering our country along the critical path of socio-economic development.
When we embarked on this journey, propelled by a burst of hope and abiding faith in Nigeria's unity and progress, I made a pledge before God and fellow countrymen and women to confront Nigeria's challenges head-on by rebuilding trust, fostering prosperity, and restoring our nation's economic health. Today, I proudly affirm that our economic reforms are working. We are on course to building a greater, more economically stable nation.
Under our Renewed Hope Agenda, our administration pledged to tackle economic instability, improve security nationwide, reduce corruption, reform governance, and lift our people out of poverty.
While implementing the reforms necessary to strengthen our economy and deliver shared prosperity, we have remained honest by acknowledging some of the difficulties experienced by our compatriots and families. We do not take your patience for granted. I must restate that the only alternative to the reforms our administration initiated was a fiscal crisis that would have bred runaway inflation, external debt default, crippling fuel shortages, a plunging Naira, and an economy in a free-fall.
Despite the bump in the cost of living, we have made undeniable progress.
Inflation has begun to ease, with rice prices and other staples declining. The oil and gas sector is recovering; rig counts are up by over 400% in 2025 compared to 2021, and over $8 billion in new investments have been committed. We have stabilised our economy and are now better positioned for growth and prepared to withstand global shocks.
In 2025, we remain on track with our fiscal targets. Gross proceeds per barrel from crude oil are broadly aligned with our forecasts as we intensify our efforts to ramp up production. Our fiscal deficit has narrowed sharply from 5.4% of GDP in 2023 to 3.0% in 2024. We achieved this through improved revenue generation and greater transparency in government finances. In the first quarter of this year, we recorded over N6 trillion in revenue.
We have discontinued Ways & Means financing, which has been a major contributor to high and sticky inflation. The NNPC, no longer burdened by unsustainable fuel subsidies, is now a net contributor to the Federation Account. We are also achieving fuel supply security through local refining.
Our debt position is improving. While foreign exchange revaluation pushed our debt-to-GDP ratio to around 53%, our debt service-to-revenue ratio dropped from nearly 100% in 2022 to under 40% by 2024. We paid off our IMF obligations and grew our net external reserves by almost 500% from $4 billion in 2023 to over $23 billion by the end of 2024.
Thanks to our reforms, state revenue increased by over N6 trillion in 2024, ensuring that subnational governments can reduce their debt burden, meet salaries and pension obligations on a timely basis, and invest more in critical infrastructure and human capital development.
One of our administration's most impactful achievements is our bold tax reform agenda, which is already yielding results. By the end of 2024, our tax-to-GDP ratio rose from 10% to over 13.5%, a remarkable leap in just one year. This was not by accident. It results from deliberate improvement in our tax administration and policies designed to make our tax system fairer, more efficient, and more growth-oriented.
We are eliminating the burden of multiple taxation, making it easier for small businesses to grow and join the formal economy. The tax reforms will protect low-income households and support workers by expanding their disposable income. Essential goods and services such as food, education, and healthcare will now attract 0% VAT. Rent, public transportation, and renewable energy will be fully exempted from VAT to reduce household costs further.
We are ending the era of wasteful and opaque tax waivers. Instead, we have introduced targeted and transparent incentives supporting high-impact manufacturing, technology, and agriculture sectors. These reforms are not just about revenue but about stimulating inclusive economic growth.
There is a deliberate focus on our youth, who a friendlier tax environment for digital jobs and remote work will empower. Through export incentives, Nigerian businesses will be able to compete globally. Our National Single Window project streamlines international trade, reduces delays, and enhances Nigeria's competitiveness.
To promote fairness and accountability, we are establishing a Tax Ombudsman, an independent institution that will protect vulnerable taxpayers and ensure the system works for everyone, especially small businesses.
Most importantly, we are laying the foundation for a more sustainable future by introducing a new national fiscal policy. This strategic framework will guide our approach to fair taxation, responsible borrowing, and disciplined spending.
These reforms are designed to reduce the cost of living, promote economic justice, and build a business-friendly economy that attracts investment and supports every Nigerian. Together, we are creating a system where prosperity is shared, and no one is left behind.
We have breathed new life into the Solid Minerals sector as part of our efforts to diversify the economy. Revenue has increased phenomenally, and investors are setting up processing plants as the sector dumps the old pit-to-port policy and embraces a new value-added policy.
We have also repositioned our health sector despite all odds.
Over 1,000 Primary Health Centres are being revitalised nationwide. An additional 5,500 PHCs are being upgraded under our Renewed Hope Health Agenda. We are establishing Six new cancer treatment centres. Three are ready. We offer free dialysis services in pilot tertiary hospitals and subsidise the service in others. Under the Presidential Maternal Health Initiative, over 4,000 women have undergone free cesarean sections. Lastly, we have expanded Health Insurance Coverage from 16 million to 20 million within two years.
As a result of our bold and deliberate policies, the economy is growing stronger again. Real GDP rose by 4.6% in Q4 2024, with full-year growth of 3.4%. This is one of the strongest in a decade.
Without a responsive and reliable national security infrastructure that can protect lives and properties, our economy will not perform optimally, and those who seek to harm us will impair and disrupt our way of life. Our administration is committed to the security and safety of our people. For our government, protecting our people and their peaceful way of life is the utmost priority.
Since I assumed our country's leadership, our administration has improved collaboration among security agencies, increased intelligence-driven operations, and better ensured the welfare of our armed forces and security personnel. I use this opportunity to salute the courage and everyday sacrifice of our service men and women. We may not always witness the tremendous efforts they make to keep us safe, but we benefit every day from the results of their dedication. Even if we do not thank them often enough, they willingly face danger so we can go about our lives freely and without fear.
Our military, police, and intelligence agencies are committed to always responding to emerging security threats and new challenges because it is the patriotic duty they owe a grateful nation.
Amid the new security challenges, we can report some successes. In some areas of the northwest, hitherto under the control of bandits, our gallant armed forces have restored order, reducing and eliminating threats to lives and livelihoods. With the success achieved, farmers are back tilling the land to feed us. Highways, hitherto dangerous for travellers, have become safer. Our security agencies have succeeded many times in rescuing the abducted citizens from the hands of their tormentors. I promise you, we shall remain vigilant, as I told security chiefs during the last meeting to up their game and collaborate to end this plague of evil men. Every Nigerian deserves to live without fear.
Outside of Security, we have prioritised human capital development as a central pillar of our national development strategy.
To this end, we have significantly expanded access to quality education through infrastructure investments and the student loan scheme to support indigent students in tertiary institutions. Through the Renewed Hope Health initiative, our administration has begun equipping health facilities and deploying skilled personnel to unserved areas. We are also strengthening our response to public health threats and implementing targeted social investment schemes.
Our youth empowerment initiatives include access to funds, skill development, and creating employment opportunities. Through our MSME support, we empower the next generation and bridge inequality. In our mission to empower the next generation, we have taken bold steps to place young Nigerians at the heart of national development. Nowhere is this more evident than at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), where the current management is making giant strides. NASENI has embraced a digital-first approach, introduced real-time dashboards, and implemented end-to-end e-procurement through its Unified ERP System—setting a new governance benchmark for public institutions.
Through bold, high-impact programmes like Innovate Naija, Irrigate Nigeria, the Asset Restoration Programme, and the Renewable Energy and Innovation Park in Gora, NASENI drives inclusive industrialisation at scale. From assembling electric vehicles and reviving idle assets to launching Africa's most advanced Rapid Diagnostic Kit Factory and training female drone engineers through the NASCAV programme, these initiatives are creating jobs, restoring dignity to work, and opening up a future of possibilities for our youth. This is the movement we promised—a government of action powered by the energy and innovation of young Nigerians.
Agriculture and food security are top priorities of our Renewed Hope Agenda. We have launched aggressive initiatives to boost local food production, support farmers, and stabilise food prices. We have also invested in mechanised farming by procuring thousands of tractors, other farming tools, and fertilisers.
Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the federal government has continued with major road construction and rehabilitation projects across all geopolitical zones, from the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Dual Carriageway, the 9th Mile-Oturkpo-Makurdi Road, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Abuja-Lokoja-Benin Road, Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Oyo-OgbomosoRoad, Sokoto-Badagry Road, Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Second Niger Bridge Access Road to Bodo-Bonny Road among hundreds of ongoing road projects across the country.
We have launched initiatives to improve electricity generation by upgrading generation and transmission infrastructure and investing in off-grid solar energy to power our homes, business premises, industries, schools and hospitals.
In the spirit of democracy and national renewal, we are preparing to welcome the world to Nigeria soon for the Motherland Festival. This landmark gathering will spotlight our rich heritage, dynamic creative industries, and the vibrant energy of our people. It will showcase Nigeria's beauty through tourism, culture, and innovation, inviting the world to rediscover our nation.
The Nigerian diaspora plays a vital role in our national transformation. Their expertise, investment, and global perspective are key to shaping the future we seek. In recognition, the government has introduced policies like the diaspora bond and the non-resident Bank Verification Number to make it easier for Nigerians abroad to invest, engage, and contribute meaningfully to the country's progress.
The Motherland Festival will bring together voices from across the continent and the diaspora in a decisive moment of unity and purpose, affirming that Nigeria is not only a leader in Africa but a committed global partner ready to engage, inspire, and lead.
Once again, I acknowledge the sacrifices many Nigerians have made and continue to make as we reposition our country, not just for today but for generations yet unborn. Our journey is not over, but our direction is clear. So is our resolve to tackle emerging challenges. By the Grace of God, we are confident that the worst is behind us. The real impact of our governance objectives is beginning to take hold. The future is bright, and together, we will build a stronger, more inclusive Nigeria that we can all be proud of.
Thank you all, and May God continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, ASO ROCK, ABUJA 29/5/2025 -

Even to this day, the Holy Spirit still reveals Truth. *OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL*
*DATE:* TUESDAY 27, MAY 2025
*THEME:* TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR CHILDREN
*MEMORIZE:*
*_"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."_*
–Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
*BIBLE READING:*
Deuteronomy 6:1-7 (KJV)
1. Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
2. That thou mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
3. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
4. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
5. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
*BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:*
Job 1—4
*MESSAGE:*
When Pharaoh said, “I won’t let the Israelites go,” he wasn’t talking about limiting them to a geographical location; he was talking about a different kind of bondage (Exodus 5:2). People who are in the kind of bondage that Pharaoh was referring to have no control over anything, not even their children (Exodus 1:1-22).
If a country’s government says that parents cannot raise their children in the way of the Lord, they should know that there is an evil agenda behind it. That is bondage, and they must not allow themselves to remain under it. Parents shouldn’t depend on any government to teach their children. Rather, they should take charge and teach them God’s values from His word. If a government insists that parents cannot teach their children what is right, they should move out of that place and go where they will not be under bondage.
Parents should check what their children are being taught in school and ensure they are not influenced to adopt a mindset that is against God’s will. They should also check the games they play and the cartoons they watch because, through them, something evil can be positioned to influence their mindsets. If you take charge of the children and youths around you, it will be difficult for them to be influenced by an evil agenda. If you are a parent, you must intentionally create time to teach your children God’s ways so that they will know Him for themselves as they grow. Let them spend more time with fellow believers, doing things that will make them grow up into godly adults.
When I moved to Redemption City with my family, my children were schooling far away, and they had to leave the house before 6am on school days so they wouldn’t be late for school. In order to have a relationship with them, we often ate our dinner in the car together as we drove back home from their school. As they grew older, I began to take them on evangelistic outreaches. Even when they were in the university, whenever I visited them, I ensured we spent quality time together. We would take walks and discuss the Scriptures; then, I’d guide them with God’s principles.
Parents, take charge of your children; don’t let the enemy win them over. God will hold you accountable for the children He has given you as He did with Eli (1 Samuel 2:27-31). Rise up to the responsibility of nurturing and training them in His ways.
*KEY POINT:*
Don’t expose your children to the enemy by submitting to societal pressures.

*KEY POINT:* Don’t expose your children to the enemy by submitting to societal pressures. *AUTHOR:* Pastor E. A. Adeboye. -

A lizard can regrow its tail, but a tail can't grow a new lizard. This teaches us that while we may feel indispensable, life goes on without us. Don't think you're irreplaceable; instead, give your best in every situation and move forward.
Whether you're the lizard or the lost tail, be the best you can be. Don't mourn the past; focus on improving your future. God bless you

My Gada.Chat
At first, they will laugh at you.
They will call you crazy, mock your dreams, and act like you’re wasting your time. They’ll whisper behind your back, saying,
Some will shake their heads in pity. Others will remind you of people who tried and failed, just to plant doubt in your mind.
But here’s the truth: every great man was once laughed at.
Stay focused. Keep building in silence. While they waste their energy talking, you keep working. Because one day, they will stop laughing. One day, those same people will come back—not to mock you, but to ask for advice.
“Bro/Sis, how did you do it?”
“Omo, put me on na.”
“I knew you’d make it, man!”
Funny how life works, right? The same people who doubted you will suddenly act like they were your biggest supporters. The ones who ignored you will start calling you “Boss.”
By then, you won’t even be the same man anymore. You’ll have leveled up—mentally, financially, spiritually. Their opinions will mean nothing. PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL BATTLES AND STRUGGLES
Heavenly Father,
In the midst of my struggle, I come before You, seeking Your strength and Your peace.
I confess that I am weary, that doubts have crept in, and that the weight of this battle feels overwhelming.
But I know You are greater than any force that comes against me.
Lord, clothe me in Your armor—
The belt of truth to keep me grounded in Your Word,
The breastplate of righteousness to guard my heart,
The gospel of peace to steady my steps,
The shield of faith to extinguish the flaming arrows of doubt and fear,
The helmet of salvation to protect my mind,
And the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word, sharp and true.
Holy Spirit, fill me with Your presence.
Speak truth into my soul when lies surround me.
Give me discernment when the enemy disguises himself as light.
Strengthen my will to resist temptation and to stand firm in my identity as a child of God.
Jesus, You have already won the ultimate victory.
Remind me that I do not fight alone.
Surround me with Your angels, with Your light, and with Your love.
And when I cannot speak, let my silence still be a prayer—
For You know the groanings of my heart.
Lord, I trust You.
Even in this battle, even in this storm,
I declare that You are faithful, and Your power is made perfect in my weakness.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL BATTLES AND STRUGGLES Heavenly Father, In the midst of my struggle, I come before You, seeking Your strength and Your peace.
