• This just almost brought me to tears. Tyler Perry cast Sinbad in his new movie, “Straw” on Netflix.
Sinbad has been recovering from a stroke the last few years.

When asked why he cast him he stated, “It's so important to me, as a man, that men want to support and take care of their families," said the acclaimed writer-director, 55. "I know it's been really difficult for him, so to give him this opportunity made me feel amazing. I'm really excited for him. And he delivered."

This is why I will always support TP and I can’t be as critical of him. He’s a real one!!!! #Straw #Sinbad #tylerperry

  • Who we want in a Relationship.

We want someone to come into our lives who knows how to manage emotional trauma, that has intelligence, and someone that can give us the world without us even asking.

Countless nights go by and we catch ourselves praying that maybe tomorrow we will find our soulmate that will make everything feel like a book that Nicholas Sparks wrote.

We want someone that notices us on a daily basis, respects us, admires us and treats us like a priority rather than an option.

We want someone who wants to protect our well-being and invests their time in our own happiness.

We want to be with someone who isn't afraid to hurt others people's feelings to protect ours.

We want someone who wakes up everyday looking for new ways to love us.

We want someone who chooses us under any circumstance.

We want to be with someone who refuses to entertain any other person that's not us.

We want someone that will continue chasing us long after, they have already had us.

We all will eventually find someone who will give us the love and affection we have always longed for, but you always have to remember no matter what... It’s never too late to find someone who appreciates and values you for who you truly are as a person inside and out.

Take my advice .... and always remember that your time is precious. So don't waste it on someone who doesn't realize you are too.

  • I Pretended to Be a House Girl—Just to Catch My Husband with My Cousin

I wore rags. Removed my nails. Scratched off every trace of who I was. Then I knocked on the gate of my own home—as a stranger. And that was the day I confirmed that betrayal has a face... and it looks just like my own cousin.

Kelvin and I had been married for five years. And like every typical newlywed African woman, I prayed and fasted for the success of my marriage more than I prayed for my own life. I had given up my job in Port Harcourt to move in with him in Abuja. I believed in him. I trusted him with my whole heart. I never even suspected a snake could be lying beside me in my own bed.

    Then came Efe.

    My cousin.

She was my late uncle’s daughter. After her father died, I took her in like a sister. I brought her to the city. Gave her a place to stay. Registered her for a fashion design course. Bought her clothes. Paid her bills. She called me "Big Sis."

I called her "My little twin."

That was before I realized she had twin intentions: one for fashion, and one for my husband.

    It started slowly.

Kelvin used to be the kind of husband who couldn't wait to see me at the end of the day. Suddenly, he was too tired to talk. Too busy to eat my food. Too distracted to touch me.

Efe became his new laughter buddy. They would sit in the living room and joke for hours. I thought nothing of it. I told myself, "She's family. She's young. He probably sees her like a sister too."

Until the day I came home early from the salon.

I opened the door quietly, hoping to surprise Kelvin. I heard sounds from upstairs. I tiptoed.

    The sounds became moans.

I climbed the stairs with my heart in my throat. My bedroom door was slightly open. I pushed it slowly...

    And saw both of them.

    On my bed.

    Sweaty.

    Naked.

Efe was on top of my husband.

    I gasped.

Efe turned. Kelvin froze. The room stank of betrayal. But what hurt more was the shamelessness in their faces.

Kelvin covered himself lazily and said, "You should knock next time."

I stood there. Speechless. My heart tearing into pieces.

Efe simply smiled. A wicked, tiny curve of her lips. Like she had finally won.

    That night, I didn’t sleep.

I cried silently. I stared at the ceiling. And I made up my mind.

If they could break me in my own house, I would break them in theirs.

I made a plan. A mad plan. A painful plan. But one I needed for closure.

I told them I was traveling to Lagos for a 3-day work trip.

I packed a bag. Booked a hotel just 15 minutes away. Called my friend Linda, a professional makeup artist. She helped me change my look. I transformed.

Hair hidden under a scarf. Nails removed. Contact lenses to dull my eyes. Old wrapper. Slippers. Voice changed.

I became Mariam. The new house help from Kogi.

I knocked on my own gate.

    Efe opened it.

She looked at me up and down.

    "Yes? Who are you?"

I bent my head, spoke in the softest voice I could manage. "Na Madam send me. Say make I come help. She dey travel."

Efe rolled her eyes. "Madam no tell me anything. But come in. Oga go see you."

I walked into my own house like a stranger.

    I wanted to collapse.

    But I held myself.

    Then I saw him.

    Kelvin.

In boxers. Eating suya in the living room. Watching football.

He looked at me and smirked. "Na you be the new help?"

    I nodded.

He smiled. "You go sleep for down. Kitchen work na your own. And anything I say, you go do."

    I swallowed hard.

In that moment, I died a little.

    First day, he ignored me.

Second day, he touched my waist as I washed plates.

Third day, I saw him sneak into Efe’s room.

Fourth day, he asked me to massage his legs. Said I looked like I had strong hands.

    I wanted to scream.

    But I waited.

    Until the fifth day.

He came behind me in the kitchen. Touched me again.

Said: "You fine o, even with all this village dressing."

    That was the last straw.

    I turned.

    Tore off my scarf.

    Removed my wrapper.

And screamed: "YOU’RE TOUCHING YOUR WIFE, FOOL!"

    He jumped back.

    Efe came running in.

    She saw me. Froze.

I pulled out my phone. Showed them the camera footage from hidden angles.

"I have it all. Every dirty thing you did. I OWN YOU BOTH."

    They started begging.

    Kelvin went on his knees.

    Efe tried to cry.

But I had cried all my tears.

    I walked out.

    Posted a short clip online.

    And guess what?

That same night, Efe's mother called me from the village.

"My daughter is pregnant. For your husband."

    I dropped the phone.

    Collapsed.

    To be continue....

  • She went with her son to pick wild strawberries... and accidentally overheard something she would have been better off not knowing"

Marina and Fyodor were doctors at the same hospital, loving parents of five-year-old Yuri. It seemed like their family was strong, and their relationship stable. But fate had other plans.

Fyodor became interested in a young woman—the daughter of the chief doctor. Beautiful, noble, with an influential father... And as it turned out, with a direct path to career advancement for ambitious employees. Youth and beauty might not have played a decisive role, but it was this combination that became an irresistible temptation for Fyodor.

He didn’t hide his intentions from his wife. He honestly declared:
    — I’m in love. We’re no longer together.

Marina was crushed, but she didn’t fight for her husband. She silently accepted his decision, swallowed the bitterness of betrayal, and simply quit her job at the hospital. She couldn’t bear seeing the person who had become a stranger every day.

But her trials didn’t end there. Fyodor declared that he would stay in their shared apartment and take it for himself completely.

    — Did I pull you out of your mother’s house? Then go back to her, — he said coldly.

And Marina’s mother lived in a tiny one-room apartment, where there was barely enough space for herself. Returning there with her child was impossible. And then there were the rumors, spread by Fyodor and his new patrons. No clinic in the city wanted to hire this "married" female doctor.

The city became unbearable. Staying any longer would mean losing herself. Marina made a desperate decision: with her last savings, she bought a small house in the countryside. There, it seemed, she could start anew.

And she was right. In the village, where there were hardly any specialists, she was welcomed with joy, and the locals even helped her settle in. The house was very simple, but the locals—kind and helpful—fixed the roof, warmed the stove, and helped her adjust to her new life.

Marina found a job at a health post, and a neighbor, a lonely woman in her sixties, was happy to watch Yuri while she was on calls.

Gradually, Marina began to feel almost happy. She had work, the respect of those around her, warmth, and a home. Yuri also adapted, although he sometimes got sad—there were no children his age in the village, and the local boys teased him: "City softy," "clumsy," "mama's boy."

But Marina believed: with time, her son would find friends. For now, he had his mother, and around them was the beautiful nature. There was a forest nearby, full of berries and mushrooms, and a wide river, where they said there were plenty of fish.

    — And we have wild strawberries in summer—up to our knees! — the villagers told them. — You walk into the forest, and it’s like walking on a red carpet!

Since spring, Yuri had been asking to go into the forest:

    — Mom, let’s go already! They say they taste better than strawberries, and it’s free! Please!

    — It’s too early, son, — Marina gently held him back. — The snowdrops are just blooming now. Wait a little longer—soon we’ll wander through these forests. We’ll pick berries, mushrooms, maybe even find some nuts!

And then the long-awaited summer arrived. Sunny, generous. Yuri remembered his wish:

    — Mom, let’s go to the forest today? Grandma Nyusha says the berries are already ripe. She would go herself, but her back hurts. Let’s pick some and bring them to her!

    — Okay, — Marina smiled. — Only on the weekend. I promise—lots of berries, lots of impressions.

At the appointed time, they went to the forest. They got so caught up in gathering and playing that they almost reached the river.

    — Should we go fishing here? — Yuri asked.

    — You can’t catch fish so easily, — Marina laughed. — You need tackle, knowledge... Maybe we should ask someone to take us along?

But at that moment, her gaze fell on two men standing at the water’s edge. By their looks and behavior, it was immediately clear—they were not locals. One of them held a thick bag, from which something was faintly moving.

    — Looks like it’s still alive, — one of them mumbled.

    — So what? It will be alive now, then drown—who cares, — the other replied harshly.

    — We should put some metal in there... Like bricks.

    — Go find bricks, if you’ve got nothing better to do! — the first one snapped irritably. — Hurry up, I’m tired of this.

Marina’s heart froze. Something was clearly breathing in the bag. It wasn’t a human—too small—but an animal. And definitely alive...

She went with her son to pick wild strawberries... and accidentally overheard something she would have been better off not knowing" Marina and Fyodor were doctors at the same hospital, loving parents of five-year-old Yuri. He honestly declared: — I’m in love.
