  • *COMMUNICATION IN MARRIAGE IS A COVENANTAL Lifeline

Communication in marriage is not a luxury—it is a lifeline. It sustains emotional connection, resolves conflict, nurtures intimacy, and affirms love. When communication breaks down, the relationship begins to starve. The words you speak—or withhold—have the power to build or break your home. Silence is not always golden; sometimes, it’s lethal.

THE SILENT TREATMENT IS A DANGEROUS WEAPON

The silent treatment is not maturity—it’s manipulation. It is the weapon of the emotionally immature, used to punish rather than to heal. It seeks to gain control by withholding presence, affection, and resolution. Rather than addressing issues with grace and truth, it creates emotional torture, confusion, and rejection. It becomes a breeding ground for bitterness and resentment.

SILENCE INVITES THE ENEMY INTO THE MARRIAGE BED

When one spouse chooses to shut down emotionally, Satan finds an open door to whisper lies, exaggerate offenses, and magnify distance. Every hour of silence gives the enemy uncontested influence. Marital silence becomes spiritual noise, echoing division, and promoting separation. As Scripture reminds us, “Do not give the devil a foothold” (Ephesians 4:27). Prolonged silence is a foothold.

    DISAGREEMENTS ARE HEALTHY—DIVISION IS NOT

Disagreements are not signs of a broken marriage—they are signs of two thinking, growing individuals working out oneness. Emotionally mature spouses can disagree on topics without tearing the relationship apart. They do not allow one subject of contention to shut down the entire flow of love, respect, or communication. They remain relationally connected even in moments of tension.

EMOTIONALLY MATURE SPOUSES COMMUNICATE THROUGH CONFLICT

In healthy marriages, spouses do not use silence as a shield or sword. Instead, they lean into dialogue, even when it's difficult. They listen, reflect, and respond with emotional intelligence and spiritual maturity. They understand that silence solves nothing and often creates more wounds than words ever could. Choosing discussion over distance is the path of maturity.

AGREEING TO DISAGREE IS A SIGN OF STRENGTH, NOT WEAKNESS

Sometimes the healthiest thing a couple can say is, “We may not agree right now, but we still choose unity.” Agreement in every opinion is not the goal; unity in love and respect is. Agreeing to disagree allows space for individuality without threatening the oneness of the covenant. It keeps the door of understanding open and prevents unnecessary emotional shutdown.

KEEP THE LINES OF COMMUNICATION OPEN AT ALL COSTS

Even during conflict, always leave the door open for dialogue. Say things like, “I need time to think, but I’m not walking away,” or “I love you, but let’s talk when we’re both calm.” These phrases preserve the emotional connection while creating space for clarity. Never let a disagreement silence the entire relationship.

RECLAIM YOUR MARRIAGE WITH CONSISTENT, HONEST COMMUNICATION

Healing begins with humility and honesty. Even if the conversation is uncomfortable, it is worth having. Regular, respectful communication cultivates trust, emotional safety, and long-term unity. Ask questions. Listen deeply. Speak with grace. Share feelings without blame. Rebuild intimacy one conversation at a time. Silence divides, but godly communication restores.

  • BREAKING: Wike Takes Over PDP Headquarters

The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has announced that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will begin the takeover of properties in Abuja over unpaid ground rent, starting Monday, May 26, 2025.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the land housing the permanent headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), currently under construction in Abuja’s Central Business District, is among the affected properties, having been revoked in March due to several years of unpaid ground rent.

The announcement was made on behalf of Wike during a joint press briefing in Abuja on Friday, featuring key FCTA officials including the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka; Director of Land Administration, Mr. Chijioke Nwankwoeze; and Director of Development Control, Mr. Mukhtar Galadima.

The officials disclosed that 4,794 titles had been revoked for failure to pay ground rent, with some defaults dating back 43 years. Among the affected properties is the PDP’s permanent headquarters, under construction in the Central Business District of Abuja.

“Ownership of the revoked 4,794 properties in the Central Area, Garki I and II, Wuse I and II, Asokoro, Maitama, and Guzape districts had already reverted to the FCTA.
And as from Monday, next week, the government will begin to exercise its rights of ownership on the affected landed properties,” the officials said.

“As usual, this will be done without consideration as to ownership of the affected landed properties. It will be purely in line with extant laws and regulations guiding the process.”

The revocations were carried out under Section 28(5)(a)(b) of the Land Use Act, which empowers the government to reclaim land when the terms of occupancy are violated, the statement said.

The FCTA said the affected owners had defaulted on over N6.96 billion in ground rent, and recalled that the administration had given a 21-day grace period for owners with debts under 10 years, which has now expired.

Speaking during the briefing, the Director of Land Administration, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, emphasized, “It is clearly stipulated in the terms and conditions of the grant of Right of Occupancy, and it is due for payment on the first day of January, each year, without demand.”

“There was no court decision on the revocation, and as such, the FCTA is not restricted in the discharge of its lawful functions on the affected properties.”

Director of Development Control Mukhtar Galadima confirmed that enforcement would begin on Monday.

He said the FCTA will begin sealing off the affected properties and restricting access on Monday.

  • IMPORTANT TOILET ETIQUETTE TO KEEP IN MIND

    1. Flush After Use
    - Always flush the toilet after you’re done to maintain cleanliness.

    2. Wash Your Hands
    - Always wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet.

    3. Keep the Seat Clean
    - If you make a mess, clean it up. Use toilet paper to wipe the seat if necessary.

    4. Limit Time
    - Be mindful of the time you spend in the restroom, especially in shared facilities.

    5. Use Air Freshener
    - If available, use an air freshener to neutralize odours after use.

    6. Respect Privacy
    - Knock before entering a bathroom stall and respect others’ privacy.

    7. Dispose of Waste Properly
    - Use the toilet for its intended purpose only. Dispose of feminine products or other waste in designated bins.

    8. Be Quiet
    - Keep noise to a minimum to respect others using the restroom.

    9. Avoid Phone Use
    - Try to avoid using your phone or engaging in conversations while in the restroom.

    10. Report Issues
    - If you notice any maintenance issues (like a clogged toilet), report them to the appropriate person.

11.Don’t Leave Pee on the Floor or Toilet
Men stereotypically pee on the floor, and women on a toilet seat. Whether you’re in a gender-neutral bathroom or not, it’s polite to make sure your pee stays inside the bowl! If for some reason you splash some on the seat or the floor, be a good citizen and clean up after yourself! And if you’ve heard that it’s more sanitary to sit hovering above the seat – you don’t need to.

It could very well make a big mess on the seat and floor, cause your leg cramps, and doesn’t help protect you very much – if at all – from germs.

    12 Don’t Knock on a Locked Door
It’s locked. Uhm so… what exactly is it that you’re unclear about? You’re just being annoying – and FYI you’re not gonna make ‘em pee any faster.

  • YOU REMAIN VALUABLE EVEN AFTER YOUR DEATH!

Regardless of how dire your situation may seem, death should not be regarded as the best solution. Your life may feel meaningless to you, but let me assure you, your death could be more advantageous for many.

    1. The story surrounding your death can serve as a lesson for others to exercise caution and wisdom.
    2. If your passing makes the news, it can become a source of income for media outlets and content creators.
    3. Mortuary attendants rely on your death for their livelihoods.
    4. If you choose water or fire as your means of exit, your body could nourish aquatic life, and the carbon emissions from cremation, when mixed with oxygen, can promote plant growth.
    5. Morbid anatomists depend on your corpse to advance their field.
    6. For anatomy and medical students, you would be considered a cadaver, enabling them to excel in their chosen professions.
    7. Committing suicide through poisoning or drug overdose increases the profits for manufacturers of those substances.
    8. Think about the many lives your death could affect if you receive a proper burial: transport services, textile industries, funeral homes, farmers, marketers, religious organizations, friends, families and unknown individuals, artists, fashion designers, coffin makers, security personnel, and more.
    9. Cemetery caretakers engage in business, and both local and state governments earn revenue from your passing.
    10. Some individuals, such as ritualists and scammers, may have a greater interest in your body parts after death than they do while you are alive.
    11. Scientists study the remains of the deceased to determine the age of a land or community.
    12. If you are buried on your own property, your remains can continue to provide security for that land as long as you possess the appropriate title documents.

IF YOUR DEATH HAS ALL OF THESE ADVANTAGES, IMAGINE HOW MUCH MORE VALUABLE YOUR LIFE IS!

1 tsp paprika or cayenne pepper (optional for heat)

    For coating:
    2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornflour (for extra crisp)
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp baking powder (optional – helps make it airy)

    Oil for deep frying

    Preparation Steps:
    1. Marinate the Chicken (Minimum 2 hours or overnight)
Mix buttermilk with salt, pepper, and spices.

Add chicken, making sure it’s fully coated.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor and tenderness.

    2. Prepare the Coating
In a large bowl, mix flour, cornflour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and other spices.

Optional: For extra crunch, you can double-dip — dredge in flour, dip in buttermilk again, and dredge once more in flour.

    3. Heat the Oil
Heat vegetable or sunflower oil in a deep pan to 170–180°C (340–360°F). Don’t overcrowd the pan to keep the temperature steady.

    4. Fry the Chicken
Shake off excess marinade and dredge chicken in the flour mixture.

Press the flour onto the chicken to create a rough, craggy texture.

Fry 3–4 pieces at a time for 10–15 minutes, depending on size, turning occasionally.

Chicken is done when it’s golden brown and the internal temp reaches 75°C (165°F).

    5. Drain and Serve
Place fried chicken on a rack or paper towel to drain excess oil.

Let it rest for a few minutes before serving to lock in the juices.

“Your Body Is Not a Prayer Point. It’s a System.”
Scene: After a long walk. Achalugo is sipping warm water with lemon. Odogwu is frustrated.
    ODOGWU:
I just want us to rest small before the baby comes.
But why is it taking this long?
    ACHALUGO (calm):
Because sperm is not just ejaculation.
    It’s nutrition.
Because ovulation is not just a date on a calendar.
    It’s chemistry.
    ODOGWU:
So what are you trying to say?
    ACHALUGO:
    I’m saying—
If your zinc is low, your sperm is weak.
If my gut is inflamed, my hormones won’t balance.
You can’t pray your way out of metabolic dysfunction.
    ODOGWU:
But I’ve been doing my best…
    ACHALUGO:
    Let’s be honest.
Your “best” has been malt, indomie, zero sunlight, and vibes.
    ODOGWU (defensive):
Ah ah. I drink malt for energy na!
    ACHALUGO (firm):
And malt is frying your sperm count quietly.
Because of you, I’ve been on ginger, okra, liver, egg, broth—healing my womb, resetting my hormones—
And you’re still drinking like a bachelor.
    (Silence)
    ODOGWU:
    So fertility is food?
    ACHALUGO:
Fertility is magnesium, vitamin A, zinc, good fats, and peace.
It’s blood flow. It’s gut health. It’s rest.
If your body is at war, your seed will surrender before it reaches its target.
(Achalugo picks up her phone and plays a voice note from Obiageli)
    OBIAGELI (voice):
Ladies, stop begging your womb to work while feeding it bread and sugar.
Men, stop blaming your woman when your testosterone is on life support.
    Fertility is not random.
It’s a reflection of how you live.
Heal the gut. Eat real food. Touch the earth. Sleep.
    Then try again—with a body that’s ready.
    ODOGWU (softly):
    Where do I start?
    ACHALUGO:
    Start by dropping the malt.
And picking up a boiled egg.
