Though God never told us categorically when the end would come, He gave us signs and signals that will help us identify the end of the age (Matthew 24:36-43). So, God did not totally leave us in the dark, because with these signs, we can know that the end is around the corner. Today, we are going to look at the signs and signals of the last days. 1. The abundance of deception and falsehood. Matthew 24:5 says, For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:11 says, And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Now, one of the things that will indicate to us that we are around the end of age is the explosion of deception, an explosion of falsehood – many false prophets, false apostles, false teachers, false doctrines, heretic practices and operations. When we came to the Lord many years ago in the late 70s and mid-80s, there were a few mentions of the phrase, “False prophet.” I cannot even remember anyone identified as a false prophet in those days. People were genuinely passionate for God. But today, there are people who have no dealings with Jesus Christ at all, yet they are parading themselves with all manner of titles. They don’t even know what it means to be born again. People who should have been native doctors or witch doctors are wearing suits and ties as pastors and preachers, apostles and prophets. The challenge right now is that there are fake and false ones who are being celebrated as real and there are real ones who are suspected of being fake. I once came across someone who said that she went to a place where she paid almost a million Naira for deliverance, healing or help, and at the end of the day, no solution. 2. The abundance of conflicts, crises and wars on the earth. It was predicted in Scriptures, in the Sixth Verse of the Twenty Fourth Chapter of Matthew, …And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Now, we have a world full of adults who can’t handle rejection, can’t handle failure, and can’t handle life. 4. *WHEN PARENTS CHOOSE FRIENDSHIP OVER LEADERSHIP, CHAOS FOLLOWS* Many parents today want to be their child’s friend instead of their leader. So instead of saying: ❌ "This behaviour is wrong!" They say, "She’s just expressing herself." ❌ "You must work for what you want!" They say, "Let me buy it for you." ❌ "This is not acceptable!" They say, "I don't want to hurt their feelings." And just like that, we have a generation of weak people who cry over small problems and break down when life gets tough. 5. *THE NEW GENERATION LOVES PLEASURE BUT HATES RESPONSIBILITY* Discipline used to be normal. Now, a child calls it "abuse" when a parent corrects them. Now, teachers can’t discipline students because "it’s too harsh." Now, young people demand freedom but reject accountability. Everyone wants to enjoy, but no one wants to work. And this is why: The streets are full of lazy men chasing quick money. Social media is full of young girls selling their bodies for attention. Homes are full of broken families because nobody was raised to be a good partner or parent. 6. *WHEN CHILDREN LOSE DISCIPLINE, THEY LOSE THEIR FUTURE.* Many young men today are addicted to masturbation, pornography, and cheap pleasure—because nobody taught them self-control. Many young women today expose their bodies for social media likes—because nobody taught them self-respect. Many young people today are broke, weak, and mentally unstable—because nobody taught them how to survive hardship. The devil is not the problem. The parents failed. 7. *IF WE DON’T FIX PARENTING, THE WORLD WILL GET WORSE.* If we continue like this, the next generation will: ⚠️ Have no morals. ⚠️ Have no work ethic. ⚠️ Have no fear of God. I haven’t even reached the major cities yet, but these rural areas already say so much about this country. They’re not abandoned, they’re not wasted, they’re working. Growing. Producing. Since I began this journey, I’ve ridden through Hundreds of kilometers, but I’ve never seen so much unused land put to good use like I’m seeing here in Côte d’Ivoire. And I can’t lie, I’m loving it. Charle, I'm super inspired 😁 And I’m also a bit heavy hearted, because I’m Nigerian, and where I come from, agriculture is our major source of livelihood too, but we have so much land wasting. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned the Tinubu administration’s plan to spend over ₦712 billion on the renovation of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. In a statement issued by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, the party questioned whether the renovation plan and its associated cost had received approval from the National Assembly, describing the expenditure as reckless and insensitive. The full statement read: The African Democratic Congress (ADC) strongly condemns the outrageous ₦712 billion airport renovation project announced by the Tinubu administration as another brazen act of fiscal recklessness and official insensitivity which further confirms how far this APC government is removed from the reality of the suffering people of Nigeria. This same Murtala Muhammed Airport had a new international terminal that was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari in March 2022. According to media reports at the time, the said facility was built on a landmass of approximately 56,000 square metres, with 66 check-in counters and has the capacity to process 14 million passengers annually. It was said to have been equipped with “censored conveyor belt, seven jet bridges, 10 ultra-modern cooling systems, heat extraction in the baggage hall, ample space for duty free shops and banks, recreational areas for children, 22-room hotel for stop-overs among others.” It is important to note that although this airport was designed to process 14 million passengers in a year, available reports indicates that the airport handled only 6.5 million passengers in 2024, less than half of its capacity. We therefore wonder if it is this same airport that is now scheduled for renovation or another one. The inescapable conclusion is either that the previous APC government had lied to Nigerians about what it did with the Lagos Airport or the current government is about to spend such a huge amount of money on a project that already exists. Perhaps even more troubling is the fact that this massive expenditure—approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on July 31, 2025—has not received any backing from the National Assembly and it is not in any of the approved budget. Is this now how the government spends close to a trillion naira—without appropriation, without scrutiny, and without the consent of the Nigerian people through their elected representatives? We demand to know: under what constitutional provision is this money being spent? How did we get here, that the government of Nigeria, even in the face of extant accountability laws, is able to approve expenditure of this magnitude with no public breakdown of costs, no transparent procurement process, and no national debate? many.
