Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Colossians 3:14-24
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
MESSAGE
Have you ever wondered (like myself) how and what Mary felt carrying the Lord Jesus Christ in her womb for nine months? We can only imagine... She was the first person to ever have the Lord Jesus Christ live inside her body and she felt Him moved inside her for almost a year before she delivered God in the flesh.
The Spirit called Christ from eternity took a form of flesh in her womb in order to become a man and to live among us.
It must have been a very holy experience for her.
This is an example of what it means to have the word living or dwelling in us richly.
The impact of allowing the word of God to dwell in us is simply fantastic and amazing! It produces such an amazing life of godliness that is altogether heavenly and divine. This is the whole essence of living a divine and iconic life on earth.
According to our text today, Paul the apostle reiterated that everyone would be well behaved: thus he said, husbands love your wives, wives submit to your husband, servants be obedient to your masters, and whatever you say or do, let it be as unto the Lord Himself.
Only a life that is totally taken over by the word of God can be so godly.
*The word of God in you is God living inside of you. This is Emmanuel...*
The reason for all ungodly behavioural issues is not unconnected with the lack of the word of God in people's lives.
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour said in
John 8:37 "...but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you."
Can you imagine what our society and the whole world would look like if we all allow the word of God dwell in us like Mary did? Think about it, beloved...
ACTION STEPS
1. Ask the Lord to create in you a holy appetite for His word that no human ability can produce.
2. Spend more time in the word daily.
PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father God, thank you for today's devotional guide. Fill my heart with holy passion for your word today as never before. Amen.
