• Delta Governor’s Aide, Shimite Winifred, Reportedly Dies from Domestic Violence Incident

The Delta State community has been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of Chief (Mrs.) Shimite Winifred, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Export. She was a respected trade and economic expert, known for her dedication to economic development and women empowerment.

Initial reports suggest that Shimite died as a result of domestic violence. Though details are still emerging, it is alleged that she had a fatal confrontation with her husband, Pastor David Favour, who has reportedly been arrested in connection with her death.

Human rights activist and fellow government aide, Harrison Gwamnishu, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post on Monday, April 21, 2025. Another activist, Comrade Victor Ojie, also known as Wong Box, echoed the confirmation, urging people to prioritize their lives over staying in abusive marriages: “Marriage is not by force. It’s better to lose your marriage than to lose your life.”

Shimite’s personal aide, Tameta Sunday, expressed grief and outrage in a tribute, accusing her husband of being responsible for cutting short her life and future plans.

The late Shimite Winifred held several notable positions throughout her career. She served as the Coordinator of the Delta State UNIDO Centre and was the focal person for the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme in Delta. She also hosted African Pot, a television documentary that celebrated African cuisine, tourism, and culture.

Additionally, she was an influential member of several development and trade bodies, including the Steering Committee of USAID/NEXTT (Nigerian Expanded Trade and Transport) – Lakaji Trade Corridor, and the Board of Directors of FESECA – Foundation for Economic Change in Africa. She also contributed as an editor for Daily Trust and Leadership newspapers on travel and tourism.

Her death has sparked widespread calls for greater awareness around domestic violence and the urgent need for victims to seek safety, regardless of social or economic status.

  • THE MAKING OF MEN..
    Gen 1:26-28, Eph 2:10
Every man was created for a purpose and it was for you to be in the duty of Responsibilities..

The major Purpose of God creating man aside worship is to be in
    In charge
    Take charge
    Dominate
    Rule
    "TO BE A LEADER"...
Add as much as you know to it..

Note: God can not fulfill your destiny for you,he can only help you to fulfill destinies..

KEYS TO BECOMING AND REMAINING A LEADER..
    1. VISION..
Leadership is conceived when a person's mental photograph(Vision) of a future that incorporate his purpose becomes more important to him than the pleasure of the present..

Note: When an individual captures his vision it's begins to stairs the heart of the multitudes..

The truth is! Nobody wants to follow the person who is going no where!! Prov 29:18

Vision validate leadership,It explains the existence of leadership..

Without vision leadership is invalid and unnecessary

Remember! when vision is lost a leader dies!!
For every vision to stand the test of time...it must be Sustained...

    HOW TO SUSTAIN A VISION
    HABAKUK 2:2-3

    1. CAPTURE YOUR VISION
    2. REFINE YOUR VISION
    3. PLAN YOUR VISION
    4. SIMPLIFY YOUR VISION
    5. DOCUMENT YOUR VISION
    6. COMMUNICATE YOUR VISION
    7. LIVE YOUR VISION
    8. MAINTAIN YOUR VISION

    2. INSPIRATION
Dreams, Vision and Leadership becomes unrealistic when it begins or lacks inspiration...

The fuel that fan a leader to flame is inspiration.

    Leadership(Leader) dies when inspiration dies..

when the power of inspiration becomes potent in any leader he begins to re-order his personal priorities..

When a leader lacks inspiration he begins to "expire" when he begins to expire He begins to manipulate people.

And A true leader does not manipulate people,he inspire people...

    3. COMMITMENT
No leadership (LEADER)survives without personal sacrifice and Dedication..

The hight at which your commitment stop is the level at which your responsibilities ends
    To be Continued...

  • Two days ago we celebrated mother's day, come to think of it who is a mother?

A mother is someone who nurtures, cares for, and provides love and support to a child. This can be biological, adoptive, or even in a chosen family dynamic. A mother isn’t just defined by giving birth but by the role she plays in a child's life—offering guidance, protection, and unconditional love.

    Characteristics of a mother

A mother is often characterized by a mix of emotional, psychological, and practical qualities. While every mother is unique, some common characteristics include:

    1. Unconditional Love – A mother’s love is deep, unwavering, and not based on conditions. She cares for her children regardless of their flaws.

    2. Nurturing Nature – She provides emotional and physical support, ensuring her children feel safe, loved, and cared for.

    3. Patience – Raising children requires immense patience, from teaching life lessons to handling tantrums.

    4. Selflessness – A mother often puts her child’s needs before her own, sacrificing time, sleep, and personal desires for their well-being.

    5. Strength and Resilience – She remains strong through challenges, whether emotional, financial, or personal, to support her family.

    6. Guidance and Wisdom – A mother imparts life lessons, values, and knowledge, helping her children navigate life’s ups and downs.

    7. Protectiveness – She instinctively protects her child from harm, whether emotional or physical.

    8. Compassion and Empathy – Understanding her child’s feelings and struggles, she provides comfort and reassurance.

    9. Dedication and Hard Work – Whether she’s a stay-at-home mom, a working mother, or balancing both, she is committed to providing a better life for her child.

    10. Forgiveness – Even when children make mistakes, a mother forgives and continues to support them.

While these characteristics are common, motherhood looks different for everyone. Some mothers may express love through actions rather than words, while others may be more emotional.

What do you think defines a mother best?

Let's have your opinion on this

  • TOPIC: GIVING AS AN ACT OF FAITH AND DEDICATION TO GOD

    TEXT:2 CORINTHIANS 9:6, MALACHI 3:8-9

•Giving is an act of providing something, giving is making available your time, your resources, your money and also giving support.

•Giving is without necessarily expecting anything in return.

•When we say we give to God, it means we are assisting the work of God.

    •Giving is a selfless act.

•When giving is done right, it leaves you with joy, knowing that someone has benefitted from your benevolence.

•We give to deepen our faith and trust in God.

•Our giving in the house of God is purposeful and not a vain act.

•Every form of giving is principle guided and every principle operated in faith with all honesty, carries a heavy blessing for the operator - Luke 6:38

•Anyone that acts in the giving principle, will also receive the reward that the principle brings - Proverbs 11:4

•In church, giving comes in different ways:
OFFERING, TITHING, SEED FAITH, VOWS, PLEDGES, FIRST FRUITS, WELFARE

    1). OFFERING - Exodus 25:2

•Offering is a planned, sacrificial giving in service and it is usually set aside to be rendered as an act of worship to God.

•Offering does not take a Christian by surprise, it's never an accident, but something you already know - Malachi 1:6-8

•Offering is a communication of your heart to God.

•Offering is a contribution to the fund of the church to execute her charity work and other developmental works.

•Everything you do has a way of coming back to you.

•God gives every man a forbidden fruit to test his faith. Pass your test and don't fall.

    2). TITHING - Malachi 3:10-11

•Tithe is a levy of one tenth of all your income.

    WHY DO WE TITHE?
1). Tithing is critical for us to honour God
To acknowledge the source of your blessing.

2). You tithe to enlarge your resources - 2 Corinthians 9:8

    3). Curses are broken.

•You become free from financial deficit.

4). You are protected from enemies - Malachi 3:11

5). You will be able to overcome and conquer greed in your life.

•Don't pretend not to know your tithe.
