Statement issued by the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, His Eminence Sheikh Naim Qassem:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

What the oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are subjected to from American-Israeli aggression, and the extent of savagery, genocide, starvation, and killing, has exceeded all humanitarian and ethical standards.

The global silence constitutes an indictment of the regimes and officials, and disables what is called international law. It is not enough that twenty-five countries call for stopping the war against Gaza; such words do not absolve them of their testimony about what is happening, nor the support that some major countries have given since the beginning of the aggression. Positions and condemnations do not exonerate their issuers; what is required is that these positions turn into actual measures to stop these massacres and crimes, by imposing sanctions on the Israeli entity, isolating it, prosecuting it, and stopping all forms of dealings with it.

The greatest responsibility lies with the Arab and Islamic countries, rulers and peoples alike. Choose the positions you want, at the level that suits you, but do not stand as mere spectators. Stop normalization, close the enemy's embassies, prevent trade exchange, gather to support Palestine and Gaza even with the minimum of living capabilities. When America sees a united hand and voice with the Palestinian people, it will yield and retreat.

History will record this shame on the leaders of humanity and its regimes in the era of hateful starvation and mass killing of the starving, and the injustice of America and Israel will also affect those silent about supporting the oppressed. And know: "Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed," and the excessive savagery and arrogance of Israel will be the cause of its terrible downfall, God willing.

  • OKE OGUN: THE BEST AS CAPITAL FOR THE PROPOSED NEW OYO STATE.

Following the Senate public hearing held in Lagos earlier this month in respect to the state creation, the Senate has in their Friday 11th July plenary proposed the creaction of 12 new states with 2 in each geo-political zone. This development had Ibadan and Ijebu States proposed from the present Oyo and Ogun states respectively. And in all fairness to the Senate, they have done a great job that will enable easy passage of the bill, having conspicuously considered the landmass of some of the shortchanged states in the last creation.

By that arrangement, Ibadan is going with Ibarapa, leaving ÒkèÒgùn, Oyo and Ogbomoso in the new Oyo State. The siting of new Oyo State Capital should ordinarily not be a topic of debate and should ACTUALLY NOT. By every standard, ÒkèÒgùn is naturally positioned as the most suitable location for the capital of the new Oyo State. Factors like landmass, Population, natural resources, centralization, huge infrastructure, Economy, Tourist sites, Food Security, and presence of Research Centers and Higher Institutions of Learning are outstanding qualifications for ÒkèÒgùn to be sited as capital.

Beyond all sentiments, ÒkèÒgùn represents about 47.57% of the total landmass of the present Oyo State; it will represent more than 65% of the proposed new Oyo state. And by numbers of Local Government Area, ÒkèÒgùn has 10 LGAs which is the largest amongst the rest of it's co- proposed journeyers; Ogbomoso with 5 LGAs and Oyo with 4 LGAs. For a fact! ÒkèÒgùn with its 13,537km2 area is 2 to 4 times bigger than Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Ekiti and Lagos States. So, if it can not stand as a state for now, being a capital would be fair.

Talking about natural resources deposits, no other region other than ÒkèÒgùn in either of the present Oyo State or the proposed new Oyo State (with the exit of Ibadan and Ibarapa) that has an inch of the natural resources and precious stones the nature has blessed ÒkèÒgùn with; amongst which are gold, marble, kaolin, granite, iron-ore, tantalite, talc, beryl etc. They are all available in commercial quantities in ÒkèÒgùn.

Going by Centralization: ÒkèÒgùn is so central and naturally positioned such that one can easily connect from anywhere within and outside the state. There are good road networks suitable to navigate to state capital from Ogun, Kwara, the proposed Ibadan state and even beyond.

On infrastructure, the Ikere Gorge Dam in Iseyin is a huge source of Power/water Generation and distribution to the state and its neighbors. And apart from power and water security, this will attract investors and shall in no meagre measure boost the economy of the state. Need we also mention that the construction of the road that leads to Ikere Dam has commenced courtesy of Governor Seyi Makinde's administration and the long abandoned Power plant has also recently been approved for revamping by the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commence soon.

Iyake hanging lake in ÒkèÒgùn is a great site to behold for tourists. Colorado has the 2nd hanging lake in the world and it's boosting it's economy through same by way of tourism. The Federal Government will benefit hugely in this resource and the new state will also not suffer courtesy of this alone.

For Economy, virtually each town in ÒkèÒgùn has outstanding art that boosts economic activities. Iseyin is known for the great art of Aso Oke rated as best in the world; Ipapo for soap making, Shaki for quality Pot production and other towns for one art or the other. Aso Oke International Market in Iseyin is also a great one to lure investors to the new proposed state and shall be a major source of Economy booster.

ÒkèÒgùn being the food basket of Oyo State will do better in terms of Food Security upon attaining the State Capital status. The rich soil of the land coupled with the existence of Ikere dam will help farmers to engage in farming activities all year round produce.

A capital city should be one with serene environment with facilities that does not only make people comfortable but that will also add value to people; such is ÒkèÒgùn with library of International standard (Raji Oke-Esa Library) and Ebedi Residency for Literary works sitting comfortably in the heart of ÒkèÒgùn.

Aside other factors mentioned above, OkeOgun hosts a Federal University, a State University, a State Polytechnic, 2 private Polytechnics and a College of health Sciences. All these are lovely factors to be considered, as the new capital will not start from the scratch for those important requirements.

Finally, the National Assembly has gone this far, the completion of the process will determine what they shall be remembered for after now. It's only expected they are remembered for good, by placing the capital where it best suits. We can all ruminate on the words of Edmund Burke who said , "There is but one law for all, namely that law which governs all law, the law of our Creator, the law of humanity, justice, equity - the law of nature and of nations". The justice and equity here can only be NEW OYO STATE with ÒKÈÒGÙN as CAPITAL.

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

  • Hmmm my president.

The Asiwaju of the universe, the man that has, for the first time hit the elites below the belt and they are wailing and crying like toddlers.

Just imagine the new opposition, ask them what are the new ideas they are bringing to the table, because the Jagaban has covered all and swept them off the carpet.

Lets even suggest, if they take over the government are they going to undo all the major reforms going on now or what, because all this people am seeing are all parts of the rots called Nigeria before.

I am just wondering ooo, this is just two years out of mandatory 8 that a president stay in office in Nigeria, and the elites could not withstand the pain and the agony they have subjected Nigerians into all these years.

I don't want to pick them one by one because there is nothing you people don't know. These people are so pained to the extent that just in two years is like 100yrs in their bodies. Imagine all devils were exhumed from their cemeteries just because of Jagaban.

But I blame the followers for been so docile and uninformed to see and to know who is really fighting for them. I keep on asking what are the new opposition bringing to the table. Asiwaju said they lack ideas and truly no single ideas in all of them. Imagine somebody that his wife was collecting N4b every month for a year and yet nothing was achieved now saying he wanted to rescue Nigeria. I pity Nigerian followers because many of them lacks discerning mental systems. Just following mobs all the time.

Imagine that big mouthed former kogi senator after how many years in the chambers and the only thing he can show is toys in his garage. Well I don't blame him as old as he is no wife no responsibility. And Nigeria could not even reason. It's suicidal to argue with some Nigerians because you will not be able to sleep after wasting a lot of energy to.make them reason all to no avail.

Tinubu the champion of the masses step up your gears and continue to decimate them.

  • *BREAKING... Enugu Electricity Regulatory Commission Issues New Tariff, Crashes Band A from N209 to N160 Per Kwh*

    ..._Freezes Bands B, C, D and E Tariffs_

The Enugu State Electricityv Regulatory Commission (EERC), has issued a new tariff to MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited, the utility that succeeded Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, (EEDC), for electricity distribution in the state, reviewing electricity cost for Band A from N209/ kWh (per kiloWatt) to N160 kWh, effective from August 1, 2025.

This was contained in the Commission's Order No. EERC/2025/003 entitled “Tariff Order for MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited 2025, issued by the Commission at the weekend.

It said its decision was cost reflective, insisting that tariff must reflect power generation subsidy by the federal government for the benefit of electricity consumers.

EERC predicated its action on the Enugu State Electricity Law 2023, which empowers the Commission to regulate the activities of operators in power generation, transmission, and distribution in and exclusively for the state.

This Law signed by Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State in September 2023, is pursuant to the 2023 Constitutional Amendment which firmly established the legislative authority of the states on electricity matters within their states. This was followed by the passage of the Electricity Act 2023, that repealed the Electric Power Sector Reform Act, 2005, and introduced major changes such as the separation of distribution and supply operations, and empowers states to regulate their own electricity markets.

Throwing more light on the development, EERC Chairman, Chijioke Okonkwo, said that the reduction in tariff became imperative following the Commission's review of MainPower’s tariff and licence applications as the new subsidiary company (SubCo) that operates in Enugu State.

“We reviewed their entire costs, using our Tariff Methodology Regulations 2024, and the supporting Distribution Tariff Model to get an average price of N94.

“The price is low because the Federal Government has been subsidising electricity generation cost which charges only N45 out of the actual cost of N112. That was how we came about the average tariff of N94 as cost reflective tariff at our level as a subnational electricity market.

“Breaking this across the various tariff bands means that Band A will be paying N160 while other Bands B, C, D, and E are frozen.

“Band A, at N160 will help MainPower to manage the rate shock, and if the subsidy is removed, the savings will assist them in stabilising the tariff over a defined period of time. Nevertheless, at all times, the tariff will be cost reflective and will not require any state subsidy,” Okonkwo stated.

He noted, however, that the N160 Band A tariff could be difficult to sustain should the Federal Government remove the generation tariff subsidy currently being enjoyed by electricity consumers throughout the country, as tariffs would most likely rise beyond these new rates.

“But until then, it is only right that Ndi Enugu - Band A customers enjoy the reduced tariff effective August 1, 2025," the Commission's Chairman added.

Meanwhile, EERC also said it had put in place monitoring and evaluation systems and guidelines to ensure MainPower’s compliance with service commitments so that its customers do not pay more for less power.

“MainPower is obliged to publish daily on its website a rolling seven-day average daily hours of supply on each Bank A feeder no later than 9am of the next day.

“Where MainPower fails to deliver on the committed level of service on Band A feeder for two consecutive days, MainPower shall report this to the Commission within 24 hours.

“Where MainPower fails to meet the committed service level to a Band A feeder for seven consecutive days, the feeder shall be automatically downgraded to the recorded level of supply.

"The Commission is committed to working with industry developers, investors, customers and Stakeholders to develop and implement strategies and solutions to provide access and improve electricity services to all the citizens of the state, as this is a win for the establishment," the Commission concluded.

"The Commission is committed to working with industry developers, investors, customers and Stakeholders to develop and implement strategies and solutions to provide access and improve electricity services to all the citizens of the state, as this is a win for the establishment," the Commission concluded.
