Gender-Based Violence (GBV) refers to violence or abuse that targets individuals or groups based on their gender, gender identity, or perceived gender. GBV affects people of all genders, ages, cultures, and backgrounds.
Types of GBV:
1. Physical violence: assault, battery, or harm
2. Emotional/psychological violence: verbal abuse, intimidation, or manipulation
3. Sexual violence: rape, sexual assault, or exploitation
4. Economic violence: financial control or exploitation
5. Social/cultural violence: forced marriage, honor killings, or dowry-related violence
6. Institutional violence: discriminatory laws, policies, or practices
7. Cyber violence: online harassment, stalking, or exploitation
