Gender-Based Violence (GBV) refers to violence or abuse that targets individuals or groups based on their gender, gender identity, or perceived gender. GBV affects people of all genders, ages, cultures, and backgrounds.

Types of GBV:

1. Physical violence: assault, battery, or harm
2. Emotional/psychological violence: verbal abuse, intimidation, or manipulation
3. Sexual violence: rape, sexual assault, or exploitation
4. Economic violence: financial control or exploitation
5. Social/cultural violence: forced marriage, honor killings, or dowry-related violence
6. Institutional violence: discriminatory laws, policies, or practices
7. Cyber violence: online harassment, stalking, or exploitation

1. Domestic violence
2. Intimate partner violence
3. Sexual harassment
4. Stalking
5. Human trafficking
6. Female genital mutilation (FGM)
7. Child marriage
8. Forced prostitution
9. Online exploitation

2. Men and boys (also affected, often underreported)
3. LGBTQ+ individuals
4. People with disabilities
5. Refugees and displaced persons
6. Minority groups
