EFCC ARRESTS AISHA ACHIMUGU AT ABUJA AIRPORT, SEE WHAT SHE DID

As reported by DAILY POST, Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested prominent businesswoman and socialite, Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, early Tuesday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

According to her legal team, Achimugu returned voluntarily from London and was taken into custody at approximately 5:00 a.m.

The arrest comes amid an ongoing EFCC investigation into alleged criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

Her lawyer confirmed that she had informed the Federal High Court in Abuja, through sworn documents, of her intent to visit the EFCC on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

This was in compliance with a court order issued by Justice Inyang Ekwo, mandating her appearance before the anti-graft agency.

Justice Ekwo had ruled earlier that Achimugu must present herself before the EFCC to assist in its inquiries.

Additionally, the court instructed that she appear before it on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to continue legal proceedings tied to the case.

Details of the specific allegations remain unclear, but the case has drawn public attention given Achimugu’s profile in both the business and social circles.


The EFCC has yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest or charges.

However, sources close to the investigation suggest that her questioning is connected to financial transactions flagged during broader anti-corruption probes.

Achimugu’s legal team has urged respect for her rights and emphasized her willingness to cooperate fully with the authorities.

As of press time, she remains in EFCC custody.
