• Peter Obi Speaks :

My One-Term, Four-Year Vow Is SACROSANCT

One of the greatest American Presidents, Abraham Lincoln, served only four years, yet his legacy endures as a model of principled leadership. Another iconic figure, John F. Kennedy, did not even complete a full term, yet his vision and ideals continue to inspire generations. In Africa, Nelson Mandela, revered globally as a symbol of justice and reconciliation, chose to serve only one term as President of South Africa, despite immense public pressure to stay longer. His decision was a deliberate act of leadership, a statement that power must serve the people, not the self. Indeed, history shows that the longer many African leaders remain in power, the more likely they are to be corrupted by it. Longevity in office is not a mark of success; rather, it is purposeful, accountable service - however brief - that defines true statesmanship.

It is within this context that I reiterate my vow: I will serve only one term of four years if elected President. And that vow is sacrosanct.

I am fully aware that the decay in our society has made trust one of the scarcest and most sceptically viewed commodities. Many Nigerians, understandably, no longer take politicians at their word. But even in this climate of cynicism, there are still a few whose actions have matched their words - whose integrity is built on verifiable precedent.

Recently, I became aware of two statements aimed, albeit indirectly, at my vow to serve only a single four-year term. One person remarked that even if I swore by a shrine, I still wouldn’t be believed. Another suggested that anyone talking about doing only one term should undergo psychiatric evaluation.

I understand the basis of their scepticism. They are judging me by their own standards - where political promises are made to be broken. But they forget, or perhaps choose to ignore, that Peter Obi is not cut from that cloth. I have a verifiable track record that speaks louder than speculation.

In my political life, my word is my bond. When I entered politics in Anambra State, I made clear and measurable promises to the people: to improve education and healthcare, to open up rural areas through road construction, and to manage public funds with prudence. I fulfilled each of those promises without deviation. I did not swear by a shrine, nor have I been certified mentally unstable as a result of honouring my word.

My vow to serve only one term of four years is a solemn commitment, rooted in my conviction that purposeful, transparent leadership does not require an eternity.

If making such a promise qualifies me for psychiatric evaluation, then we may as well question the mental fitness of those who framed our Constitution, which clearly stipulates a four-year renewable tenure.

I maintain without equivocation: if elected, I will not spend a day longer than four years in office. In fact, I believe that service should be impactful, not eternal.

We must rebuild trust in our country. I have dedicated my public life to demonstrating that leadership with integrity is not a myth. I have done it before, and I do not intend to betray that trust under any circumstances.

Forty-eight months is enough for any leader who is focused and prepared to make a meaningful difference. In that time, I intend not merely to make an impression, but to deliver on concrete promises to:

    sanitise our governance system;
    tackle insecurity through effective and accountable use of national resources; prioritise education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation;
catalyse small businesses as engines of growth ; and combat corruption with unflinching resolve.

Above all, I will dedicate myself to transforming Nigeria from a consuming nation into a productive one, where agriculture, technology, and manufacturing replace rent-seeking and waste as our national anchors.

These are not utopian dreams. They are realistic, actionable goals that are achievable within four years.

A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

  • Tough news from the Wave…

Former Rivers Angels, Nigeria U20 Falconet and San Diego Wave FC forward Okwuchukwu Chiamaka Christabel has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a lower leg injury.

She’s only 19, but in just 3 appearances this year, she already made her mark — scoring one of the fastest debut goals in NWSL history (just 1 minute and 32 seconds after subbing on!).

I know this setback is just the start of an incredible journey ahead. Can’t wait to see her back on the field stronger than ever. ⚽️

Sending healing energy and strength your way, Chiamaka 🙏🏾

  • Senator Wadada: Hiring Crowd Is Not Capacity, It Is Camouflage

    By Ibrahim Musa Andafu
    ***
A Facebooker mentioned that some people were hired or lobbied to attend Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada's turbaning ceremony in Lafia today. If that claim holds any truth, then it calls for honest reflection. He was turbaned as Magajin Dangin Lafia Bare-Bari.

Capacity is not determined by the number of people gathered, but by the genuine connection between a leader and the people. When individuals are paid to attend an event, they disappear once the money or influence wears off. But when people are inspired, they remain committed even after the event ends.

Hiring or persuading people to show up is not a demonstration of strength, it is a clear sign of desperation. True popularity does not require rented claps or staged loyalty. It is revealed through the quiet yet sincere support of ordinary people who believe in the values a leader represents.

We must learn to separate real support from artificial appearance. Genuine followership builds lasting respect, while manufactured crowds only feed temporary illusion. Not every large crowd is a sign of greatness, just as not every applause is a sign of approval.

Meanwhile, a personality with capacity, national connection, and influence do not need to hired people in order to fake his popularity.

At the end of the day, it is not about how many people came, but why they came. That reason, not the number, defines the true value of leadership.

  • Time to semiconduct some business.

Elon Musk confirmed on social media that South Korean tech giant Samsung will manufacture AI chips for Tesla under a multiyear deal.

Samsung is the world’s largest memory-chip manufacturer, but it’s been lagging behind when it comes to making chips for other companies on a contract basis. The Tesla deal helps solve that problem.

Samsung will also manufacture the chips at its new factory in Taylor, Texas, not far from Tesla’s headquarters in Austin, so Musk will be getting chips off his own block.

Musk says the $16.5 billion contract is the “bare minimum” of what the deal could be, predicting “actual output is likely to be several times higher.”

Shares of both companies jumped higher today during trading: Tesla +3%, Samsung +6.8%.

  • HE Peter Obi was in Haiti in 2010 after the earthquake with Bob Manuel; aside from donating USD 200,000, he served as an aid worker with his son. Obi wasn’t contesting for President back then.

  • 2027: Nasarawa West Only Needs The Right Type Of Leadership And Representation
    ***
    Fellow citizens of Nasarawa West

As 2027 is fast approaching, our dear Senatorial District once again stands at a crossroad - waiting for its sons and daughters to act. Blessed with human and natural resources and placed geographically in an advantageous position, Nasarawa West only needs the right type of leadership and representation, one that will sustain the gain while securing the future to achieve its full potentials. And that is where one name rings bell, Hon. Emmanuel Bako.

Our communities and the people, including their health, economy, education, and future, are at stake. These require the type of representation Emmanuel Bako will offer, sponsoring bills and motions including lobbying to ensure affordable, quality healthcare for all, regardless of income or background; champion social justice, equality, and human rights; create jobs and empower our communities through sustainable economic development, supporting small businesses, and investing in infrastructure; prioritize quality education for all, increasing access to scholarships, and promoting opportunities for lifelong learning

Indeed, the stakes are high, and the window for change is narrow. So, let's demand and insist on leadership that puts people and the community first. Albeit, Hon. Bako, a seasoned technocrat and community developer whose track record of service and solution-driven approach to leadership, has all it takes to fit the exalted office to represent Nasarawa West in the Red Chamber.

Join us in this urgent call to action. Let's call on and support Hon. Emmanuel Bako for Senate. Together, we can create a better future.

The time to act is now.

  • This is Emmanuel Nwude, the biggest fraudster in Nigerian history. Between 1995 and 1998, he sold a fake airport to a Brazilian banker for $242 million.

This guy’s fraud was considered the third largest banking scam in the world after the Nick Leeson's trading losses at Barings Bank, and the looting of the Iraqi Central Bank by Qusay Hussein.

Nwude even used part of his fraud money to acquire block shares in Union Bank of Nigeria and earned himself the position of a non-executive director in the bank.

When EFCC was on his case, Nwude attempted to bribe Nuhu Ribadu, the then chairman of the EFCC, with $75,000 cash but the latter refused and Nwude was charged with attempted bribery as well as attempt to kidnap a prosecuting witness. Nwude was sentenced to five concurrent sentences of five years and was also asked to pay $10 million fine.

After he was released from prison in 2006, he filed a case to reclaim his assets insisting some of them were acquired before the criminal act. He was able to reclaim $167 million.
