To swear and not do it is making a fool of God and a partner to your lies. How can you profane God's name by invoking him to be a witness to falsehood? Therefore, do not swear. Just say it and make your promises or vows. Let your YES be Yes and let your NO be No. We make vows at Baptism, weddings, and ordinations. My vows to the Lord l will fulfil.
