*CATHOLIC MEDITATION: 14 June, 2025.*
*SATURDAY*
10TH WEEK - ORDINARY TIME, YEAR C
*1st R* : 2 Cor. 5:14-21.
*Resp. Psalm* : Ps. 103.
*R/ - The Lord is compassionate and gracious.*
*Gosp.* : Mtt. 5:33-37.
*Message:* *DO NOT SWEAR AN OATH BUT FULFILL THE VOWS YOU MAKE.* _To swear is to make a declaration and invite God to be a witness e.g "l will support the Church project, l swear to God". To swear and not do it is making a fool of God and a partner to your lies. How can you profane God's name by invoking him to be a witness to falsehood? Therefore, do not swear. Just say it and make your promises or vows. Let your YES be Yes and let your NO be No. We make vows at Baptism, weddings, and ordinations. My vows to the Lord l will fulfil. What then is the difference between making promises, vows, and making oaths or swearing? Listen to the meditation._
