THEME: *THE BREAD OF LIFE.*
MEMORIZE
John 6:27
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
READ
John 6:35, 48-51
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
I am that bread of life.
Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
*Death reigns over everything not insured by God's Word.*
MESSAGE
Food is an important part of every life, hence God made the food of man before creating the Man. And He introduced him to his food immediately after his creation.
Food is generally referred to as bread or meat.
Bethlehem the home of Jesus Christ our Savior was called "the house of bread" by the Hebrews, but the Arabs call it "the house of meat" the variation between meat and bread is easily understood when you consider that the one who calls Himself the bread of life is a man and He was raised in that little town of Israel.
Physical bread takes care of physical hunger, satisfies and nourishes the body and soul, it gives strength and vitality to the body physically.
Natural or physical bread has its own limitations. It doesn't affect your spiritual life, nor does it add any value to your spiritual life and destiny. It is short lived in the body and digests within few hours after which we are hungry again. This is why the Lord Jesus told the Jews in today's memory verse to labor for the bread that does not perish.
What physical food does to the body is what the bread of life does to a man's spirit and soul. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is that living bread. And as the name implies, this bread is alive and gives life to our spirit, soul and body totally. And because it doesn't perish or dies, it quickens and enlivens our lives according to its span of life. The simple recipe is a regular intake of the Word of God daily into your spirit. The Bible says in
Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever."
Everything and everyone not enlivened by the word of God dies with time. Death reigns over everything not insured by God's word. But when you live by the word, you have eternal life that cannot be terminated by death. This is why the Bible says
1 John 2:17 "... but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."
Beloved, go for the bread of life today. Labor for the living bread, spend more time in the Word than ever before and you shall live forever!

HYMN
I hear the words of love,
I gaze upon the blood,
I see the mighty Sacrifice,
And I have peace with God.
2
'Tis everlasting peace !
Sure as Jehovah's name ;
Tis stable as His steadfast throne,
For evermore the same.
3
The clouds may go and come,
And storms may sweep my sky —
This blood-sealed friendship changes not :
The cross is ever nigh.
4
My love is ofttimes low,
My joy still ebbs and flows ;
But peace with Him remains the
No change Jehovah knows, [same —
5
I change, He changes not,
The Christ can never die ;
His love, not mine, the resting-place,
His truth, not mine, the tie.
