Oh what a Rainy Day, it's like the Heavens over Abuja is open today

The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party, LP, has said that it is not in any coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

This was contained in a statement by factional National Chairman and the National Secretary of the party, Julius Abure and Umar Ibrahim, respectively, after a National Executive Council, NEC, meeting on Monday in Abuja.

Former vice-presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has initiated moves to reconcile warring factions within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Datti reportedly met with Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman of the party, and members of his camp in Abuja on Monday, where he pledged to lead efforts aimed at resolving the lingering crisis in the party.

IGP Meets with Retired Officers at Force Headquarters

In fulfillment of his earlier promise, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has arrived at the Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he is currently addressing retired police officers who gathered peacefully to express their concerns over retirement benefits.

The IGP’s presence is a demonstration of the Police leadership's commitment to listening to the plight of the retirees and ensuring their voices are heard in a dignified and constructive manner. The engagement is ongoing in a calm and orderly atmosphere, attended only by the genuine retirees who chose the path of dialogue.
