The #Palestinian Ministry of Health in #Gaza has issued an urgent appeal to replenish medicine stocks in hospitals and primary care centers, warning that #Gaza's healthcare system is on the brink of collapse.

According to the ministry, 37% of essential medicines and 59% of medical consumables are completely out of stock.

Operating rooms, ICUs, and emergency departments are struggling to provide life-saving care as they are functioning with depleted stocks of life-saving drugs and medical essentials.

Meanwhile, 80,000 diabetic patients and 110,000 individuals with high blood pressure do not have access to medications in primary health centers. Moreover, 54% of cancer and hematology drugs are completely out of stock.

Ahmad Manasra, 23, has been released after completing nine-and-a-half-year sentence, lawyer says.

Israel continues to escalate against Hezbollah in Lebanon,
jeopardizing the ceasefire brokered by the United States last November. The ceasefire was supposed to end the confrontation that broke when
Hezbollah began launching attacks against the Israeli Defense Forces
(IDF) in support of Hamas in the Gaza Strip a day after the surprise
attack on Israel on October 7 of 2023. Israel, however, continued to
launch strikes against the group and kept troops in five posts in
southern Lebanon. The IDF escalated its operations against Hezbollah in recent weeks,
launching on March 28 its first strike against the Lebanese capital,
Beirut, since the ceasefire entered into effect. Israel said that the
strike was a response to two rockets that were launched from Lebanon at
the settlement of Kiryat Shmona earlier in the day, although Hezbollah
had denied responsibility. The strike hit a building used by Hezbollah’s drone unit in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh, according to the IDF.Hezbollah refrained from responding, but this was not apparently enough to avoid further escalation by Israel. The IDF struck the southern suburbs of Beirut again on April 1, this
time killing Hassan Bdair, a senior commander of Hezbollah. Three other
people were killed in the strike.Bdair was allegedly a member of Hezbollah’s Unit 3900 and of the elite Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.Hezbollah again showed restraint, but to no avail. An Israeli strike
hit the coastal Lebanese city of Sidon early on April 4, killing Hassan
Farhat, the commander of Hamas forces in the western sector of Lebanon.
At least two other people were killed. The IDF said at the time that
Farhat advanced “numerous attacks” on Israeli civilians and troops.Israel escalated further on April 7, killing Muhammad Adnan Mansour,
the commander of a local Hezbollah rocket unit in a strike on the
southern Lebanese area of Taybeh. The next day, April 8, the IDF
launched a strike against an alleged air defense depot of Hezbollah
close to the northeastern Lebanese city of Baalbek. As a result of Israeli pressure, a senior Hezbollah official told
Reuters on April 8 that the group was ready to hold talks with the
Lebanese president about its weapons if the IDF withdraws from southern
Lebanon and stops its strikes. This was not, however, good enough for Israel, which on April 9
accused Hezbollah of rebuilding a weapons manufacturing site in Beirut.
The accusation is clearly meant to justify further escalation, including
the renewal of attacks on the Lebanese capital. All in all, the future of Hezbollah appears to be in limbo. With no
way to deter Israel, the group could reorganize its forces on a much
smaller scale, or even move away from the Iran-led Axis of Resistance.DEAR FRIENDS. One of these successful attacks had a significant impact, with the “explosion” described as devastating. Around 150 officers in the Israeli Navy have signed a letter addressed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Security Minister Israel Katz, Knesset members, and military leadership, demanding an immediate halt to the war on #Gaza.

Published by Israeli media, the letter criticizes the government's failure to secure the release of 59 captives still held in Gaza, warning of "the dangers faced by soldiers, the harm inflicted on Israelis, and the unequal sharing of burdens." They further emphasized that "security decisions are being made based on illegitimate considerations."

Their message echoed a separate petition signed by 950 active and reserve fighter pilots refusing service, arguing the war on #Gaza "serves nothing but narrow personal and political interests" while draining the military.

The latest Israeli military attacks have triggered the largest wave of displacement in the occupied West Bank since the 1967 Six-Day War, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (#UNRWA) highlighted.

In a statement issued on Friday, UNRWA said the widespread and ongoing Israeli assaults, beginning on January 21 in Jenin camp and other northern areas, constitute the longest continuous military campaign in the West Bank since the Second #Intifada (uprising) in the early 2000s.

The agency described the situation in the northern #WestBank as “extremely concerning", citing continued Israeli raids and mass detention campaigns. According to UNRWA, these operations have resulted in systematic destruction, forced displacement, and demolition orders targeting Palestinian families and refugee camps.

On the occasion of Palestinian Child’s Day, observed annually on April 5, the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued a press release condemning the ongoing targeting of education by the Israeli occupation, particularly in the #Gaza Strip.

“The Israeli occupation continues to target education in #Palestine, especially in Gaza, through various measures, including the destruction of schools and blocking children's access to safe learning environments,” the statement said.

According to the Ministry, students in Gaza, occupied al-Quds, and in “Area C” of the occupied #WestBank are facing daily challenges due to the ongoing war.

The statement confirmed that more than 17,000 children have been martyred in Gaza since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, stressing that this figure reflects “the profound tragedy our children endure, noting that behind each number lies a life story, memories, and unique experiences.”
