    During the intergenerational talk on menstrual health hosted some weeks back, one of the experiences shared got my heart sinking.

    "...I took my old gown, tore pieces from it and used. I will wash them am dry on the covering of our local pit lantrines. Those same tissues I will take and re-use after it has been exposed to fungus, bacteria... and this got me so infected"

    While she shared her story, tears flooded our eyes. It wasn't only due to fear of the stigma around menstruation but period poverty aggravated it all.
