  • Faithfulness to God and perfect obedience to His words is the only tool that grants us total access to the covenant blessings.

    Jesus entered a village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.

    COLLECT

    Almighty ever-living God, whose Son was pleased to be welcomed in Saint Martha’s house as a guest, grant, we pray, that through her intercession, serving Christ faithfully in our brothers and sisters, we may merit to be received by you in the halls of heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ…..

    -FIRST READING-

    The Lord spoke to Moses face to face.

    A reading from the Book of Exodus (Exodus 33:7-11:34:5b-9.28)

    In those days: Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp; and he called it the tent of meeting. And every one who sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. Whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people rose up, and every man stood at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he had gone into the tent. When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the door of the tent, and the Lord would speak with Moses. And when all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the door of the tent, all the people would rise up and worship, every man at his tent door. Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tent. And Moses proclaimed the name of the Lord. The Lord passed before him, and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy and faithfulness, keeping merciful love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.” And Moses made haste to bow his head towards the earth, and worshipped. And he said, “If now I have found favour in your sight, O Lord, let the Lord, I beg you, go in the midst of us, although it is a stiff-necked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.” And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

    The word of the Lord.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 103:6-7.8-9.10-11.12-13 (R. 8a)

    R/. The Lord is compassionate and gracious.

    The Lord does just deeds,
    Gives full justice to all who are oppressed.
    He made known his ways to Moses,
    And his deeds to the children of Israel. R/.

    The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
    Slow to anger and rich in mercy.
    He will not always find fault;
    Nor persist in his anger forever. R/.

    R/. The Lord is compassionate and gracious.

    He does not treat us according to our sins,
    Nor repay us according to our faults.
    For as the heavens are high above the earth,
    So strong his mercy for those who fear him. R/.

    As far as the east is from the west,
    So far from us does he remove our transgressions.
    As a father has compassion on his children,
    The Lord’s compassion is on those who fear him. R/.

    ALLELUIA

    Alleluia. The seed is the word of God, and the sower is Christ; all who find him will abide forever. Alleluia.

    -GOSPEL

    A Reading from the holy Gospel according from John (John 11:19-27)

    At that time: many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, while Mary sat in the house. Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. And even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world.”

    The Gospel of the Lord.

    TODAY'S REFLECTION

    The kingdom of God is at hand. The message of the coming of the kingdom of God bears some sense of urgency. But Jesus never forces anyone to accept the message. He speaks the message and allows it to take root in people, each according to the size of his/her faith. Thus, at the end of the message, he says, ‘Whoever has ears, let them hear’. God created us freely and bestows on us freedom that he doesn’t tamper with. What this means is that we will be judged according to the law of freedom. In a world that is filled with so much noise, are we able to hear the message?

    PERSONAL DEVOTIONAL

    Begin by making a redeemable vow to God. Do it with thanksgiving in your heart. Praise and worship him whole-heartedly.

    Father, forgive me, in any way or in any form I may have brought barrenness upon my life and marriage, and heal me, in the name of Jesus.

    Eternal God, I come before you today to receive the power to be fruitful in the name of Jesus.

    Let Us Pray,

    I thank you father because you are not man that you should lie, neither a son of man that you should change your mind. LORD, I believe you will fulfill every word you have spoken concerning my life in the name of Jesus.

    17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

    Office: Psalter week 1, Te Deum

    Mass prop. Gloria. Creed. Preface of Sunday

    Vestment: Green

    Today’s Rosary: Glorious Mystery

    Vespers II of the 17th Sunday of the year

    WORLD DAY FOR GRANDPARENTS AND THE ELDERLY

    Theme of the Sunday: WHEN YOU PRAY SAY “FATHER.....” The Bible urges us to pray always, to thank God in all the situations of our life (I Thes. 5:17-18). But what is prayer? When should we pray? How and why should we pray? The first reading and the gospel give us answers to these questions. We pray so that we may see the world, people and history as God sees theirs. We need to purify our hearts and this can only happen in prayer. The second reading tells us what the Christian is. A Christian is one who, through baptism, has become a part of the body of Christ. Being in Christ, the disciple prays like him.

    ENTRANCE ANTIPHON Cf. Ps 67: 6-7, 36

    God is in his holy place, God who unites those who dwell in his house; he himself gives might and strength to his people.

    The Gloria

    Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you. We bless you. We adore you. We glorify you. We give you thanks for your great glory. Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

    COLLECT

    O God, protector of those who hope in you, without whom nothing has firm foundation, nothing is holy, bestow in abundance your mercy upon us and grant that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may use the good things that pass in such a way as to hold fast even now to those that ever endure. Through our Lord Jesus Christ…..

    -FIRST READING-

    “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once.”

    A reading from the Book of Genesis (Genesis 18:20-32)

    In those days: The Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave, I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry which has come to me; and if not, I will know.” So the men turned from there, and went towards Sodom; but Abraham still stood before the Lord. Then Abraham drew near, and said, “Will you indeed destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will you then destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous who are in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous fare as the wicked! Far be that from you! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” And the Lord said, “If I find at Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake.” Abraham answered, “Behold, I have taken upon myself to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes. Suppose five of the fifty righteous are lacking? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?” And he said, “I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.” Again he spoke to him, and said, “Suppose forty are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of forty I will not do it.” Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak. Suppose thirty are found there.” He answered, “I will not do it, if I find thirty there.” He said, “Behold, I have taken upon myself to speak to the Lord. Suppose twenty are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of twenty I will not destroy it.” Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.”

    The word of the Lord.

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 13b:1-2a.2bcd-3. 5-7ab.7c-8 (R. 3a)

    R/. On the day I called, you answered me, O Lord.

    I thank you, Lord, with all my heart;
    You have heard the words of my mouth.
    In the presence of the angels I praise you.
    I bow down towards your holy temple. R/.

    I give thanks to your name
    For your merciful love and your faithfulness.
    You have exalted your name and your promise over all.
    On the day I called, you answered me;
    You increased the strength of my soul. R/.

    R/. On the day I called, you answered me, O Lord.

    The Lord is high, yet he looks on the lowly,
    And the haughty he knows from afar.
    You give me life though I walk amid affliction;
    You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes. R/.

    With your right hand you save me;
    The Lord will accomplish this for me.
    O Lord, your merciful love is eternal;
    Discard not the work of your hands. R/.

    -SECOND READING-

    “God made you alive with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.”

    A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Colossians (Colossians 2: 12-14)

    Brethren: You were buried with Christ in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, having cancelled the bond which stood against us with its legal demands; this he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

    The word of the Lord.

    ALLELUIA Romans 6:15bc

    Alleluia. You have received the spirit of sonship; in him we cry, “Abba! Father!” Alleluia.

    -GOSPEL

    “Ask, and it will be given to you.”

    A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 11: 1- 13)

    Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread; and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive every one who is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation.” And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything’? I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I tell you, Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

    The Gospel of the Lord.

    THE CREED (I BELIEVE)

    I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible, I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father from all ages, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father, through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation. He came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried and rose again on the third day in accordance with the scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

    I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceed from the father and son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and life of the word to come. Amen.

    PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL

    Celebrant:

    Our Lord Jesus Christ reminds us of the need to pray always. Following his exhortation, let us, with one heart and mind, turn to him with our petitions.

    FOR THE CHURCH: that she may remain steadfast in her task of evangelization and the building up of God’s kingdom on earth. Let us pray to the Lord.

    FOR COMMUNITIES IN OUR COUNTRY EXPERIENCING ARMED VIOLENCE: that the Lord may bring to an end their distressing situations and fill their land with his peace. Let us pray to the Lord.

    FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THE HABIT OF PRAYER: that they may rediscover God as their Father who is ever ready to answer their cry when they seek him in their time of need. Let us pray to the Lord.

    FOR MEMBERS OF OUR WORSHIPPING COMMUNITY: that we may seek to nourish our relationship with Jesus Christ with the word of God, the sacraments and consistent life of prayer. Let us pray to the Lord.

    FOR OTHER INTENTIONS: (the sick, church projects or other activities).

    FOR THE DEAD, ESPECIALLY THOSE OF OUR PARISH COMMUNITY AND FAMILY MEMBERS: that they may find eternal rest with the Lord. Let us pray to the Lord.

    We pray in silence for our private intentions.

    Celebrant:

    Father, through your Son, you have shown to us your inexhaustible mercy. We humbly ask you, in your loving kindness, to safeguard us and to hear our prayers. Through Christ our Lord.

    R/. Amen.

    TODAY'S REFLECTION

    At the depth of each and every one of us is a desire to connect to God. Prayer is the expression of such a desire. The disciples of Jesus ask for the greatest of all lessons; to be taught to pray. In prayer we commune with God. We come to have a beatific experience of God and heaven. Above all, Jesus teaches us that, when we pray, the floodgates of heaven are opened. But how do we open the floodgates of heaven in prayer? The only virtue needed for us in prayer to open the doors of heaven is persistence. Any time we pray, we shift the goalpost of life to our area of competitive advantage over the devil. The forces of evil are overpowered when we pray.

    PERSONAL DEVOTIONAL

    Lord God, my saviour I cry out all day, and at night I come before you. Hear my prayers; listen to my cry for help! Psalm 88:1

    It is written, “He disappointed the devices of the wicked so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise” (Job 5:12).

    Everlasting Father, please frustrate all conspiracies and evil schemes directed against me in the name of Jesus.
    Most High God, my life is in your hand, please be my defense (Psalm 7:10, Job 22:25). Protect me when I go out, when I come in, and all the days of my life in the name of Jesus.
    Pray with Psalm 91 (meditatively)

The Gloria Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. Amen. COLLECT O God, protector of those who hope in you, without whom nothing has firm foundation, nothing is holy, bestow in abundance your mercy upon us and grant that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may use the good things that pass in such a way as to hold fast even now to those that ever endure. Through our Lord Jesus Christ….. -FIRST READING- “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once.” A reading from the Book of Genesis (Genesis 18:20-32) In those days: The Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave, I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry which has come to me; and if not, I will know.” So the men turned from there, and went towards Sodom; but Abraham still stood before the Lord. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.” The word of the Lord. RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 13b:1-2a.2bcd-3. 5-7ab.7c-8 (R. 3a) R/. On the day I called, you answered me, O Lord. I thank you, Lord, with all my heart; You have heard the words of my mouth. In the presence of the angels I praise you. I bow down towards your holy temple. R/. I give thanks to your name For your merciful love and your faithfulness. You have exalted your name and your promise over all. On the day I called, you answered me; You increased the strength of my soul. R/. R/. On the day I called, you answered me, O Lord. The Lord is high, yet he looks on the lowly, And the haughty he knows from afar. You give me life though I walk amid affliction; You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes. R/. With your right hand you save me; The Lord will accomplish this for me. O Lord, your merciful love is eternal; Discard not the work of your hands. R/. -SECOND READING- “God made you alive with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.” A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Colossians (Colossians 2: 12-14) Brethren: You were buried with Christ in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, having cancelled the bond which stood against us with its legal demands; this he set aside, nailing it to the cross. The word of the Lord. ALLELUIA Romans 6:15bc Alleluia. You have received the spirit of sonship; in him we cry, “Abba! Father!” Alleluia. -GOSPEL “Ask, and it will be given to you.” A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 11: 1- 13) Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.” And he said to them, “When you pray, say: “Father, hallowed be your name. If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” The Gospel of the Lord. THE CREED (I BELIEVE) I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible, I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ the only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father from all ages, God from God, light from light, true God from true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father, through Him all things were made. Amen. PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL Celebrant: Our Lord Jesus Christ reminds us of the need to pray always. Celebrant: Father, through your Son, you have shown to us your inexhaustible mercy. We humbly ask you, in your loving kindness, to safeguard us and to hear our prayers. Through Christ our Lord. R/. Amen. TODAY'S REFLECTION At the depth of each and every one of us is a desire to connect to God. PERSONAL DEVOTIONAL Lord God, my saviour I cry out all day, and at night I come before you. Hear my prayers; listen to my cry for help! Psalm 88:1 It is written, “He disappointed the devices of the wicked so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise” (Job 5:12). You rule over the nations of the earth. Power and might are in your hands and no one can withstand you. We present our country Nigeria before you. We praise and thank you for you are the source of all we have and are. We are sorry for all the sins we have committed and for the good deeds we have failed to do. • Psalm 91:1-10

    1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
    2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

    3 Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
    4 He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
    5 You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
    6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
    7 A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
    8 You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.

    9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
    10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.

  • Types of Behaviors That Can Push a Faithful Man Away

    React before you read

    A faithful, committed man is a blessing, but even the strongest man can grow distant if he’s constantly met with disrespect, manipulation, or emotional neglect. Here are some types of behavior that can damage a good relationship:

    1. The Constant Critic
    If you never acknowledge his efforts and always find fault, it wears him down. No one thrives under constant negativity.

    2. The Manipulator
    Using guilt, silence, or emotional games to control him breaks trust. Faithfulness needs emotional safety, not power plays.

    3. The Self-Absorbed Partner
    A relationship is about mutual care. If it’s always about your needs, your feelings, your drama, he’ll feel invisible.

    4. The Disrespectful One
    Speaking down to him, mocking him in public, or belittling his efforts can kill a man’s spirit. Respect is the foundation of love.

    5. The Flirtatious Teaser
    Constantly entertaining attention from other men, especially to provoke jealousy, undermines the trust you expect from him.

    6. The Emotionally Distant
    If you shut him out, don’t open up, or act like you don’t need him, he may stop trying to connect at all.

    Bottom Line:
    No one’s perfect, but lasting love takes effort from both sides. A faithful man deserves a woman who values that loyalty and nurtures it in return, with honesty, love, and respect. Copied.

  • *12 COMMANDMENTS OF A HEALTHY MARRIAGE*

    Marriage is a journey, not a sprint. These timeless principles, if practiced sincerely, can make your love life rich, fulfilling, and long-lasting.

    1. Never Stop Communicating
    A relationship d!es the moment communication breaks down. Talk often. Talk openly. Talk honestly. Whether it’s laughter, serious talks, or simply checking in during the day—keep the conversation flowing. Silence builds walls.

    Action Tip: Have daily "heart-to-heart" moments, even if it’s just 10 minutes before bed.

    2. Pray Together
    Couples that kneel together, stand stronger together. Prayer invites God into your relationship as a counselor, protector, and teacher. Submitting to God helps you submit in love to one another.

    Action Tip: Create a shared prayer list and pray over it together weekly.

    3. Don't W€aponize $ex
    $ex is not a reward or a punishment—it's a covenant bond. Using it to manipulate your partner causes deep emotional wounds. Keep $ex sacred, frequent, and full of mutual affection.

    Action Tip: Talk about your $exual needs openly without judgment.

    4. No Secrets, No Lies
    Hiding things destr0ys trust. Lies may feel small today, but they erode intimacy tomorrow. Transparency builds safety.

    Action Tip: Commit to “full disclosure” zones—times when you speak openly with no fear of judgment.

    5. Grow Together, Not Apart
    Compatibility is not just about shared interests—it's about growing side-by-side spiritually, emotionally, financially, and professionally. Don’t let one partner evolve while the other stagnates.

    Action Tip: Take a course, budget together, join a group, or set shared goals every quarter.

    6. Make Decisions Together
    Marriage is not a solo career. Major decisions must be mutual. When one person leads without the other, resentment builds.

    Action Tip: Have a “couples board meeting” monthly to discuss finances, plans, and life decisions.

    7. Keep Emotional Intimacy Reserved for Each Other

    Let no one be closer to you emotionally than your partner. Don’t let a friend, colleague, or even family member take your spouse’s emotional seat.

    Action Tip: Share your deepest thoughts, fears, and joys with your spouse before anyone else.

    8. Don’t Stop Being the Lover You Were at the Start
    Keep the charm, compliments, and sweet gestures alive. Familiarity should not breed laziness. Keep watering the plant of love.

    Action Tip: Bring back “dating days”—even if it’s just a walk, movie night, or surprise text.

    9. Don’t Sleep Angry
    Bittern€ss multiplies overnight. Don’t give anger a place to sleep in your bed. Resolve issues before you rest.

    Action Tip: Use this phrase often: “I value us more than this fight. Let’s talk.”

    10. Do Not Cheat, Flirt, or Entertain Infidelity
    Even the strongest love will collapse under the weight of betrayal.

    Faithfulness is not just physical—it’s emotional, digital, and mental.

    Action Tip: Avoid private, flirty conversations with the opposite $ex, and set clear boundaries.

    11. Support Each Other’s Dreams and Purpose

    Your partner is not just a spouse—they are a person with dreams, goals, and a divine calling. When one pursues purpose and the other doesn’t care, frustration sets in. Be their cheerleader, not their critic.

    Action Tip: Ask, “How can I help you get closer to your dream this year?” and follow through.

    12. Forgive Quickly and Completely
    Every relationship will experience hurt. The difference between a lasting marriage and a broken one is how quickly and sincerely you forgive. Holding grudges pois0ns your connection.

    Action Tip: Practice saying, “I was wrong. I’m sorry. Please forgive me.” And be quick to extend grace when your spouse says the same.

    Which of these do you think couples struggle with the most?
    Share your thoughts

    FINAL THOUGHT:
    A thriving relationship takes intention, prayer, humility, and consistency. Love isn’t built in a day, but it can be broken in a moment. Guard it, nurture it, and grow in it together.

    Which of these commandments speaks to you most today?

    You will not fail in marriage in Jesus name

  • *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

    DATE: MONDAY 21ST JULY 2025

    THEME: *WHY SUFFERING PRECEDES BREAKTHROUGHS?*

    MEMORIZE
    Hebrews 5:8
    Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

    READ
    Hebrews 2:5-10, 14-18
    For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
    But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
    Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
    Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
    But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
    For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
    And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
    For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
    Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
    For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
    *You cannot have the crown without the cross.*

    MESSAGE
    Why does God allow suffering before every breakthrough?

    There is something very powerful that suffering does in us more than anything else.

    Before every breakthrough, there will be suffering, not maybe or possibly, but certainly. This is not because God is cruel, but He is preparing you for something greater than you could ever imagine.

    Suffering is not His absence. It is His presence.

    It is in the fire where your character is forged, where your faith is stretched, where pride dies, where humility is born.

    So many run away from the pain crying, God, where are you in all of these troubles. Guess what, He is right there with you in the tears, in the agony, in the silence, He is closer in your suffering than in your comfort.

    When nothing seems to make sense to you, that is when its making the most sense to God.

    The enemy trembles when a child of God walks through the fire and holds on to their praises unto God.

    God does not allow suffering to destroy you but to strip you of everything that cannot stand in His presence.

    Every idol, every illusion, every false hope, every arrogance must be removed.

    The storm comes not to drown you but to expose and to remove everything that was never meant to stay.

    When it's past, what remains will be unshakeable; that is breakthrough.

    Look through the scriptures, Joseph was thrown into a pit, sold into slavery and forgotten, before he ever wore the robe of royalty.

    Moses wandered in the desert for forty years before he parted the red sea. David was hunted and hidden in caves before he wore the crown.

    And Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour endured the cross, despised the shame before wearing the crown of glory. He endured a horrible death before His glorious resurrection.

    You cannot have a resurrection without the crucifixion.

    *You cannot have the crown without the cross.*

    We live in a world where everyone wants instant blessings, but God is not in a hurry; He is raising soldiers, not entertainers. Soldiers are trained in battlefields, not banquet halls.

    God is not absent in your suffering, He is present but silent because the teacher is usually silent during the exams...

    No matter what you may be going through today, hold on. It will soon be over, and you will step into your own breakthroughs in Jesus' name. Amen.

    ACTION STEPS
    1. Thank God for everything that God has allowed you to pass through in your life.
    2. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the lessons you have missed that you still need to move forward.
    3. Pray for the wisdom of relevant applications of truth for your transformation.

    REMEMBER
    *You cannot have the crown without the cross.*

    DAILY READING: 1Samuel 14-16; Psalms 45-46; Proverbs 19; Luke 19;

    HYMN
    I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
    And it told Thy love to me ;
    But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
    And be closer drawn to Thee.

    Draw me near - - - er, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To the cross where Thou hast died ;
    Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    To Thy precious, bleeding side.

    2
    Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
    By the power of grace divine ;
    Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
    And my will be lost in Thine.

    3
    Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
    That before Thy throne I spend,
    When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
    I commune as friend with friend.

    4
    There are depths of love that I cannot know
    Till I cross the narrow sea ;
    There are heights of joy that I may not reach
    Till I rest in peace with Thee.

    *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE* DATE: MONDAY 21ST JULY 2025 THEME: *WHY SUFFERING PRECEDES BREAKTHROUGHS?* MEMORIZE Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; READ Hebrews 2:5-10, 14-18 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY *You cannot have the crown without the cross.* MESSAGE Why does God allow suffering before every breakthrough?
