  • WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND...

Prof. Jubril Aminu was once the VC of University of Maiduguri. During his tenure, there was an Aluta struggle and some students were rusticated.
Four of the rusticated students came to Gani Fawehinmi to challenge the action.
He fought the case to the Supreme Court and won. The students went back to complete their studies.

Later, Gani was arrested over his anti-SAP conference and was flown to Maiduguri, then driven to Gashua. At the Lagos airport, not knowing where he was being taken to by the security men, Gani played a fast one - he told his captors that he wanted to use the toilet.

He got inside the toilet and quickly scribbled on a toilet paper - "To whoever uses this toilet, this is Gani Fawehinmi. I am being flown to an unknown destination by security men. Please, let the world know". He placed it in a conspicuous place, flushed the toilet as if he just used it and came out.

When they got to Maiduguri, they had a brief stop over at the SSS office, where a lady officer offered Gani a cup of coffee.

Gani was hooked on coffee like drug. But this time, the will power of Gani came on. He told the lady officer -"so you people have got information that l can't do without coffee. You think you can poison me? From, today, I stop taking coffee ". That was how he ended his addiction to coffee.

He was later moved to Gashua prison, in a most decrepit cell where he collapsed after some substances were sprayed in the cell.

He was rushed to the University of Maiduguri Teaching hospital. When he regained consciousness, he found a doctor examining him and he protested, asking the doctor not to touch him.

The doctor, not wanting the security men guarding him to hear, he whispered to Gani's ear - "Chief, you are in safe hands. Can't you recognise me? I am....., one of the medical students rusticated whom you fought for our reinstatement. I am now a doctor. So, relax. You are in safe hands".

And that was how Gani's life was saved - reaping from the good deeds he did earlier, which he had forgotten.

    Moral Lesson Of The Story:

Do good always and it shall come back to you.

  • By the constitution, I had to inaugurate or prorogue the National Assembly on June 4 1999. The most important officer in the National Assembly is the Senate President and that office had been zoned to the South East. And here was where Atiku Abubakar, my Vice President, first showed his hand and his character.

Without seeking my view or approval, he started planning the installation of Chuba Okadigbo as the Senate President. I did a background check on Chuba including his past as a student and made enquiries about hin in the National Party of Nigeria (NPN) under Shagari and no one would recommend him for the post of Senate President.

I left Atiku to go on his chase while I carried out a meticulous and detailed investigation and background check on each Senator from the South East. The one that appeared most appointable was Evan Enwerem.

I canvassed the Senate across the board for his election and he was elected. Atiku did not expect it and he felt sore. He bagan to strategise for Enwerem to be removed and Chuba Okadigbo to be installed.

His strategy worked because I was at Abuja airport to receive a visiting Head of State when news reached me that the Senate had mpeached Enwerem and elected Okadigbo.

I was not perturbed. I came to understand from some Senators including Florence Ita Giwa, who later became my Special Adviser/Liaison Officer to the National Assembly, that Atiku distributed US$5,000 each to some Senators to carry out the "coup".

That was the beginning of bribing the legislature to carry out a particular line of action to suit or satisfy the purpose or desire of an individual or group. The National Assembly had tasted blood and they would continue to want more.

From the day I nominated Atiku to be my Vice; he set his mind not for any good, benefit or service of the country, but on furiously planning to upstage, supplant or remove me at all costs and to take my place. That was what I brought him for, but he was impatient and over ambitious. He was not ready to learn and to wait. Pity!

His marabout, who predicted that despite being elected as Governor, he would not be sworn in as a Governor, which happened, also assured him that he would take over from me in a matter of months rather than years.

All his plans, appointments of people and his actions were towards actualusation of his marabout's prediction. Once, I realised his intention and programme, I watched him like a hawk without giving any indication of what I knew and letting down my guard.

I could not succumb to the distraction, diversion and malevolence of an ambitious but unwise deputy.

  • DUNAMIS SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE BY DR PAUL
    ENENCHE

    DATE: SATURDAY 12TH JULY, 2025

TOPIC: THE BATTLE OF THE MIND

SCRIPTURE: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he… PROVERBS 23:7A.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The greatest enemy of man is the wrong mindset.

I once heard an interesting story. It was about the circus elephant, the elephant that is usually seen playing freely in the circus.

Now, this is what happens: when the elephant is freshly taken from the wild, it is tied down with a chain to a pole and allowed to move around in circles as the length of the chain permits. Any time the elephant attempts to move out, the chain would draw it back, and it would return and continue moving in circles within the limit of the chain. After a while, it realizes that it is not permitted to move beyond the limit of the chain, so, it remains there. At the end of the day, when they remove the chain from its leg, it would continue to move around in circles, unable to cross the limit set by the chain. Now, this is what happens: even though the chain had been removed from its leg, the bondage has already been transferred to its mind. The chain has left the leg and is now in the mind. In its mind, there is still a chain. There is something in its mind that tells it, “Thus far can you go and no further.” So, the elephant moves around in a circle.

That is the case of many people. They have remained in some degree of suffering and affliction, surrounded with a community of satanic frustration for such a long time that even when they have been set free, there is an established limitation in their mind that makes it impossible for them to excel.

It has been discovered that chronic existence in bondage can lead to addiction to bondage. A person can come to a point where a situation of bondage has so permeated his mind and spirit that he is unable to accept the reality of deliverance and liberty.

Sometime ago, I met a girl who revealed that she was a prostitute, her mother was a prostitute, and her grandmother was also a prostitute. And so, she lived under the atmosphere, consciousness and influence of that bondage and captivity. Although she may not really want to be in that bondage, it had already entered her mind, and so she had to manifest it physically.

Beloved, the greatest enemy of man is not witches, wizards or generational curses. Yes, they do exist, but the greatest enemy of man is the wrong mindset. For as a man thinketh in his heart so is he (Proverbs 23:7). So, reset your mentality and everything will align in your favour.

Remember this: The greatest enemy of man is the wrong mindset.

    ASSIGNMENT(S):
    1. Reset your mind if your mind does not align with the Word of God concerning your life.

    2. Let the Word of God define what you believe.

PRAYER: Lord, I cast down every imagination that does not conform to your Word or plan for my life. Everything is working together for my good, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: Mental Renovation

DAILY BIBLE READING: Ecclesiastes 12-Song of Songs 2

QUOTE: Your mindset is the engine room and the manufacturing plant of your destiny. Culled from the book, Deadly Enemies of Destiny by Dr Paul Enenche.

AMAZING FACT: Okra is a great source of fiber and can help regulate blood sugar levels.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Receive the grace and discipline to renovate your mindset with the Word of God in Jesus Name.

  • NAF strikes Boko Haram hideout in Borno, neutralise terrorists

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has successfully targeted and neutralised key terrorist strongholds of the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) faction of Boko Haram in the Mandara Mountains of Borno State.

According to a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the targeted locations, Wa Jahode and Loghpere, have long been identified as fortified enclaves for the JAS faction.

These sites, characterised by their challenging, mountainous terrain along the Nigeria-Cameroon border, had recently shown a surge in terrorist activities, including intelligence indicating a logistics build-up and the presence of senior JAS commanders.

In response to this increased threat, NAF strike aircraft conducted a series of meticulously planned air interdiction missions.
These operations resulted in the destruction of high-value terrorist infrastructure, including logistics warehouses, command centers, and defensive shelters. Numerous terrorists were also neutralized during the strikes.

  • BEFORE YOU BLAME PETER OBI

    BY ALH IBRAHIM H ABDUKARIM

Nigerian politics is full of contradictions! Tinubu ran a Muslim-Muslim ticket, yet Mr. Peter Obi is labeled a bigot? Obidients were attacked in Lagos during elections, but they’re called violent? Obi attended every coalition meeting, yet he’s accused of blocking unity? Atiku contested after Buhari’s 8 years, but Obi is the spoiler? Atiku agreed to serve one term; what if Obi agreed to do the same?

What do politicians want from Obi and Obidients? Silence and compliance with the status quo? No way! If the coalition fails, don’t gaslight us by blaming Obi or Obidients. Blame those who let ego and pride derail progress. So It’s okay to demand Obi supports Atiku just because Atiku is Fulani from the North, while dismissing Atiku supporting Obi because Obi is Igbo from the South. That’s a sick mindset!

Obidients back Obi because he’s the best choice to fix our broken system. Respect him for even joining coalition talks; Atiku and others need him more than he needs them. Politics thrives on mutual respect, not coercion or manipulation.

Felix Uche Akam's note: Nothing to add. Abdukarim, you're not just a writer but one with logic in his head, love and truth at heart, and magic in his hands.

  • BY AGE 40 YOU SHOULD BE SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE THIS:

    1. Someone makes 10x more than you do in a 9-5 job because they have more "leverage" with their work.

    2. Distraction is the greatest killer of success. It stunts and destroys your brain.

    3. You shouldn't take advice from people who are not where you want to be in life.

    4. No one is coming to save your problems. Your life's 100% your responsibility.

    5. You don't need 100 self-help books, all you need is action and self discipline.

    6. Unless you went to college to learn a specific skill (ie. doctor, engineer, lawyer), you can make more money in the next 90 days just learning sales.

    7. No one cares about you. So stop being shy, go out and create your chances.

    8. If you find someone smarter than you, work with them, don't compete.

    9. Smoking has 0 benefit in your life. This habit will only slow your thinking and lower your focus.

    10. Comfort is the worst addiction and cheap ticket to depression.

    11. Don't tell people more than they need to know, respect your privacy.

    12. Avoid alcohol at all cost. Nothing worse than losing your senses and acting a fool.

    13. Keep your standards high and don't settle for something because it's available.

    14. The family you create is more important than the family you come from.

    15. Train yourself to take nothing personally to save yourself from 99.99% of mental problems.

    16. If you don't separate yourself from distractions, your distractions, will separate you from your GOALS.

*Stay positive and be the real you*
