• BYD's electric vehicle (EV) factory in Zhengzhou, China, is set to become one of the largest manufacturing hubs in the world, surpassing even the size of San Francisco.

With an estimated area of 32,000 acres (approximately 50 square miles), it will dwarf Tesla's Gigafactory in Nevada, which spans just 4.5 square miles.

The factory is being developed in eight phases, with plans for it to serve as a central point for EV production on a massive scale.

The factory's sheer size will exceed the area of San Francisco, which measures 46.9 square miles, making it a remarkable feat of industrial expansion.

Beyond its size, the facility is expected to make a substantial economic impact, not only boosting the regional economy but also shaping the global EV market.

As construction continues, this mega-factory will be a critical player in the fast-growing electric vehicle industry.

  • A critical defect affecting over 4 million vehicles has triggered one of the biggest recall-level fixes in EV history — and it’s not a minor glitch.

The issue reportedly affects core vehicle functionality and could dent Tesla’s reputation for innovation and reliability. With regulatory pressure mounting and customer trust on the line, this fix could redefine how the company moves forward.

And with rivals like BYD and Lucid rapidly gaining ground, the timing couldn’t be worse. Tesla’s dominance is under pressure — and how it handles this crisis may shape its future in the EV race.

The latest Israeli military attacks have triggered the largest wave of displacement in the occupied West Bank since the 1967 Six-Day War, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (#UNRWA) highlighted.

In a statement issued on Friday, UNRWA said the widespread and ongoing Israeli assaults, beginning on January 21 in Jenin camp and other northern areas, constitute the longest continuous military campaign in the West Bank since the Second #Intifada (uprising) in the early 2000s.

The agency described the situation in the northern #WestBank as “extremely concerning", citing continued Israeli raids and mass detention campaigns. According to UNRWA, these operations have resulted in systematic destruction, forced displacement, and demolition orders targeting Palestinian families and refugee camps.

On the occasion of Palestinian Child’s Day, observed annually on April 5, the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued a press release condemning the ongoing targeting of education by the Israeli occupation, particularly in the #Gaza Strip.

“The Israeli occupation continues to target education in #Palestine, especially in Gaza, through various measures, including the destruction of schools and blocking children's access to safe learning environments,” the statement said.

According to the Ministry, students in Gaza, occupied al-Quds, and in “Area C” of the occupied #WestBank are facing daily challenges due to the ongoing war.

The statement confirmed that more than 17,000 children have been martyred in Gaza since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, stressing that this figure reflects “the profound tragedy our children endure, noting that behind each number lies a life story, memories, and unique experiences.”
