• Dear Parents,

There are things that parents do that makes me wonder if they know the implications. In my teaching career, I've come to realize that children who are well brought up produce better results.

What I see these days is training the "butty" (aje butter) way which gets me scared of what will happen in the next 10-15 years.

I see eight year olds who don't bother to lay their beds.

I see 10 year olds served by the maid or "caring mum" on the table and they either don't pack the table or they just dump the plates in the kitchen for the maid or "caring mum".

    Drivers carry the bags of
children above 5 years and the children call them "my driver".

    Manual cloth washing is
    gradually been replaced by
washing machines yet the maid or "caring mum" will be the one to do the laundry.

Children wake up and go straight to the TV and sleep late watching TV with mum and dad but mum and dad don't allow them read late.
    They'll say "go and sleep".

I see parents play game for
    hours on their phones yet
wonder why their children don't read and why their results are poor despite investment in expensive schools.

I see tweenagers and teenagers who can't cook common white rice because there's maid, nanny, cook, "caring mum" etc.

I see children who are addicted to cheating in exams, assignments, class work and the parents aren't taking conscious steps to correct it, instead some will bribe teachers to make their children first, teach them during external exams or take them to "miracle centres" to write their exams.

I see children who talk to their parents and other adults disrespectfully and all parents say is "children of nowadays are outspoken".

Your children's wardrobe is full of clothes but they don't have a single book.

You buy them lots of toys but you didn't buy them books.

I can go on and on.

See, when next you tell your
child not to do house chores,
study hard, etc, have it at the back of your mind that what you're saying is "don't take responsibility for your life".

I guess parents don't know that chores and morals are almost directly proportional to academic performance.

Haven't you thought of it that when our forefathers went to farm, fetched water, etc, before or after school, the world was a better place?

Haven't you thought of it that our local proverbs which have remained relevant were coined by unlettered men and women?

A Hausa proverb says, "Ka so naka, duniya ta 'ki shi..." favour your son and the world will reject him..." (vice-versa).

A Yoruba proverb also says, "eni a nwo ki wooran"... "those who make news don't watch news".

So when you're mentoring your children to be T.V. addicts you should understand what you're
    grooming them to be.

There are TWO PAINS in life and everyone must suffer one; *PAIN OF DISCIPLINE* or *PAIN OF REGRET*.

    When you're preventing your
children from going through *pain of discipline*, just understand that you're automatically preparing them for *pain of regret*.

    Some parents feel that their
children's careers are secured because of their financial stand.

    Now, let's do this analysis:
    1. You get your children a job.

    2. You make them take over your company.

    3. You set up a business for
    them.

    1. If you get them a job and they have the wrong attitude at work like being late, talking rudely to clients, etc, which made the company lose a big contract, will they keep them there?

    2. They take over your company and your company lost within three months an amount that you didn't make in your first five years in business due to their lack of discipline, will you pat them on the head and say I'm proud of you child?

    3. They run the business shabbily and there's nothing to show for it within few years.

    The earlier we stopped these
pampering the better. You will give an account to God for them.

Train your child in the way he
should go and when he is old, he won't depart from it.

  • *THE RESTORER'S DAILY GUIDE*

    DATE: SATURDAY 19TH JULY 2025

THEME: *THE BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN TONGUES* (PART TWO)

    MEMORIZE
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

    READ
    1 Corinthians 14:2, 4-5, 13-15
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
*Mysteries are required to demystify mysteries.*

    MESSAGE
When you pray in an unknown tongue (which is referred to as the prayer language,) several things are being engaged at the same time.

You are dealing with the unknown realms. You are dealing with unknown powers resisting your life and destiny in the spirit world so as to receive all your blessings that are hidden from you.

When you are facing mysterious issues, engage the Holy Spirit to help you deal with them by deliberately worshipping and praying in tongues. And if the problem persists, you need to trust God for an untiring grace and the ability to persevere in the prayer language until victory is won and the coast cleared.

The easiest way to deal with faceless powers who depend on your ignorance to outsmart you is by engaging the Holy Spirit to help you use the prayer language.

When we pray in an unknown tongue, we are attempting to use the mysterious department of the Holy Spirit to deal with the mysteries of darkness fighting us.

*Mysteries are required to demystify mysteries.*

As there are dark mysteries causing miseries in men's lives, so also there are also mysteries of godliness required to end dark mysteries.

*It is an established fact that the problems of men remain problematic for as long as they remain mysterious.*

*However, the things that are mysterious to us are not mysterious to the Holy Spirit.*

This is why we need the prayer language to help us navigate our ways through the dark terrains until the coast is cleared.

Consider this counsel and may the Lord guide you continually.
    1. Pray often, pray daily in tongues to edify your spirit, man.
    2. Pay attention to your spirit whilst you pray.
    3. Watch out for visions and images forming in your mind or in your spirit as you pray.
    4. Take note of the scriptures that drop in your heart or spirit as you pray.
    5. Write down instructions, ideas, nudges, and impressions.

We need the unknown to connect to the unknown. We fetch the unknown with the unknown, and we finish the unknown with the unknown. This is the principle of depending on the Holy Spirit in praying with the unknown tongue.

God's Word says; "Call upon me and I will answer and show you great and mighty things which you know not." (Jeremiah 33:3;)

The things that are unknown to us are far more than the things we know.

    Our richest blessings are largely unknown to us. 1Cor 2:9;
    Our real enemies are unknown to us. Ephesians 6:10-12;

Therefore, praying in an unknown tongue is the real deal because you are dealing with the best and the worst things about your life.
Whether you win or lose is largely dependent on your ability to pray through the spirit realm.

Thank God for giving us the Holy Spirit to help us win invisible battles.

    ACTION STEPS
    1. Keep a tight relationship with God through His Holy Spirit.
    2. Build up your most holy faith, praying always in the Holy Spirit.
    3. Pray for spiritual understanding of the ways of the Holy Spirit.

    PRAYERS
Dear heavenly Father, Thank you for today's devotional guide; and thank you for giving me your Holy Spirit. Help me to take delivery of all your blessings for me in Jesus' name. Amen.

    REMEMBER
*Mysteries are required to demystify mysteries.*

    DAILY READING: 2Chronicles 15-16; Proverbs 20; Acts 18;

    HYMN
    Holy Spirit, lead us now
    Boldly to the throne of grace ;
While our heads in prayer we bow,
Let Thy presence fill this place :
    Holy Spirit, Heavenly Guide,
Lead us to the Crucified !

    2
This is now our time of need,
    This is now the day of grace ;
Now our souls with manna feed
Ere we leave this sacred place :
    Holy Spirit, Heavenly Dove,
Lead us to the feast of love !

    3
    At the blessed mercy-seat
    Peace and joy are freely given ;
While we wait at Jesus' feet,
Make this place the gate of heaven :
    Holy Spirit, Heavenly Friend,
Now upon our hearts descend !

    4
Weak and sinful though we be,
    Jesus' blood can cleanse from sin ;
At the fountain full and free
Wash and make us pure within :
    Holy Spirit, Cleansing fire,
Burn up every base desire !

  • TRIBUTE BY PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, AT THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE FEDERAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL HELD IN HONOUR OF THE LATE PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, GCFR
THURSDAY, JULY 17, 2025 STATE HOUSE, ABUJA

    PROTOCOL

Today, we gather under a heavy shadow, drawn from the silence
that surrounds a departed leader and the immense weight of a
life whose absence will be felt for generations. We meet to
honour a man whose presence once commanded this very room,
whose voice once summoned the best in us, and whose
convictions never bowed, even to the strongest winds of public
opinion. President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, former Head of1
State and former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
    has gone to rest.
He was first among soldiers in war, first among citizens in peace,
and first, without ambition or flattery, in the hearts of his fellow
citizens. Yet it was in the quiet and unadorned settings of his
private life that his true greatness was revealed: pious without
show, just without cruelty, humane without sentimentality,
temperate without coldness, and sincere without guile.
Steady in posture and spirit, dignified in bearing, and
commanding by his very presence, his example guided all who
    encountered him. Still, it endures.
To his peers, he was respectful and without pretence. To those
who served under him, he was kind without condescension. And,
to those whom he loved most intimately, he was unfailingly
tender, loyal, and good. His life was a rebuke to vice and a refuge
for virtue. The purity of his private character gave radiance to the
discipline and integrity of his public service.
Even in death, he maintained the serenity that defined him in life:
not a sigh, not a groan, just a quiet submission to the will of God.
Such was the man Nigeria has lost. Such was the man for whom
    our nation now mourns.
    2
President Buhari’s life was one of austere honour. He stood,
always, ramrod straight; unmoved by the temptation of power,
unseduced by applause and unafraid of the loneliness that often
visits those who do what is right, rather than what is popular. His
was a quiet courage, a righteousness that never announced
itself. His patriotism was lived more in action than in words.
His life traced the arc of Nigeria’s journey. Born before
independence, he became a young soldier in the struggle to
keep our nation whole. In war and in peace, he served with
vigilance and determination, as if the task of watching over
Nigeria had been assigned to him alone. From the battlefield to
the corridors of power, he remained faithful to the task. He
governed the North-Eastern State and stood as Head of State.
Years later, he returned to chair the Petroleum Trust Fund, which
he administered with Spartan rigour and complete fidelity to the
    public good.
Yet, with all that he had achieved, his most enduring legacy
would be carved in democracy. In a time when many had lost
hope that change was possible, Muhammadu Buhari put his faith
in the people of this country.
    3
We stood together, he and I. Alongside others drawn from across
the political spectrum, regions and tongues, we formed an
alliance that enabled Nigeria to experience its first true
democratic transfer of power from one ruling party to another.
When he was sworn in as our party’s first elected President, he
led with restraint, governed with dignity, and bore the burdens of
    leadership without complaint.
Those who knew him most intimately understood that the
authority of that exalted office never changed him. In the face of
pressure, he remained calm. In the face of crisis, he remained
resolute. In the face of triumph, he remained modest. Most
remarkably, he retained his jovial spirit.
When his tenure ended, he returned to Daura; not to command
from the shadows or to hold court, but to live as he always had,
never seeking to impose his will but content to let others carry
    the nation forward.
President Buhari was not a perfect man – no leader is – but he
was, in every sense of the word, a good man, a decent man, an
honourable man. His record will be debated, as all legacies are,
but the character he brought to public life, the moral force he
carried, the incorruptible standard he represented, will not be
    4
forgotten. His was a life lived in full service to Nigeria, and in
    fidelity to God.
Now, he rests. And we who remain must carry the memory of his
life as a standard to guide us. Let us honour him not only with
words, but with humility in power, discipline in service,
compassion in governance, and fearlessness in the pursuit of
    justice.
On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a grateful nation bid farewell to one
of her most illustrious sons. It was a profound honour for me,
alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, to lead his funeral
procession to Daura and witness his burial in the dignified
manner befitting a great and noble leader.
I thank the Inter-Ministerial Committee, led by the Secretary to
the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and
Governor Dikko Radda, for organising a befitting State Funeral
    within 48 hours.
In this period of national mourning, I once again extend my
heartfelt condolences to Hajia Aisha Buhari, her children, the
entire Buhari family, the government and people of Katsina
State, and all who knew and loved him. Our gratitude will remain
with President Buhari's family members who provided him with
    5
the comfort and strength to serve our nation in various capacities
throughout his over 50 years of public service. We honour his
service, reflect on his legacy, and pray for the peaceful repose
    of his soul.
Mai Gaskiya, The People’s general, the Farmer President - your
    duty is done.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him
Aljannah Firdaus. May his life continue to inspire generations of
Nigerians to serve with courage, conviction, and selflessness.
President Buhari, thank you. Nigeria will remember you.

Even in death, he maintained the serenity that defined him in life: not a sigh, not a groan, just a quiet submission to the will of God. Such was the man Nigeria has lost. Such was the man for whom our nation now mourns. 2 President Buhari’s life was one of austere honour. He stood, always, ramrod straight; unmoved by the temptation of power, unseduced by applause and unafraid of the loneliness that often visits those who do what is right, rather than what is popular. His was a quiet courage, a righteousness that never announced itself. His patriotism was lived more in action than in words. His life traced the arc of Nigeria’s journey. Born before independence, he became a young soldier in the struggle to keep our nation whole. In war and in peace, he served with vigilance and determination, as if the task of watching over Nigeria had been assigned to him alone. From the battlefield to the corridors of power, he remained faithful to the task. He governed the North-Eastern State and stood as Head of State. Years later, he returned to chair the Petroleum Trust Fund, which he administered with Spartan rigour and complete fidelity to the public good. Yet, with all that he had achieved, his most enduring legacy would be carved in democracy. In a time when many had lost hope that change was possible, Muhammadu Buhari put his faith in the people of this country. 3 We stood together, he and I. Alongside others drawn from across the political spectrum, regions and tongues, we formed an alliance that enabled Nigeria to experience its first true democratic transfer of power from one ruling party to another. When he was sworn in as our party’s first elected President, he led with restraint, governed with dignity, and bore the burdens of leadership without complaint. Those who knew him most intimately understood that the authority of that exalted office never changed him. In the face of pressure, he remained calm. In the face of crisis, he remained resolute. In the face of triumph, he remained modest. Most remarkably, he retained his jovial spirit. When his tenure ended, he returned to Daura; not to command from the shadows or to hold court, but to live as he always had, never seeking to impose his will but content to let others carry the nation forward. President Buhari was not a perfect man – no leader is – but he was, in every sense of the word, a good man, a decent man, an honourable man. His record will be debated, as all legacies are, but the character he brought to public life, the moral force he carried, the incorruptible standard he represented, will not be 4 forgotten. His was a life lived in full service to Nigeria, and in fidelity to God. Now, he rests. And we who remain must carry the memory of his life as a standard to guide us. Let us honour him not only with words, but with humility in power, discipline in service, compassion in governance, and fearlessness in the pursuit of justice. On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, a grateful nation bid farewell to one of her most illustrious sons. It was a profound honour for me, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, to lead his funeral procession to Daura and witness his burial in the dignified manner befitting a great and noble leader. I thank the Inter-Ministerial Committee, led by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and Governor Dikko Radda, for organising a befitting State Funeral within 48 hours. In this period of national mourning, I once again extend my heartfelt condolences to Hajia Aisha Buhari, her children, the entire Buhari family, the government and people of Katsina State, and all who knew and loved him. Our gratitude will remain with President Buhari's family members who provided him with 5 the comfort and strength to serve our nation in various capacities throughout his over 50 years of public service. We honour his service, reflect on his legacy, and pray for the peaceful repose of his soul. Mai Gaskiya, The People’s general, the Farmer President - your duty is done. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus. May his life continue to inspire generations of Nigerians to serve with courage, conviction, and selflessness. President Buhari, thank you. Nigeria will remember you. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President, Commander-in-Chief of The Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria
