Cheating is a choice. Let’s stop calling it a mistake just because someone got caught. A mistake is unintentional. A mistake is spilling your drink or missing an appointment. Cheating? That’s a decision. A conscious choice to lie, to betray, to step out, knowing full well what you’re risking. And people don’t cheat because they’re “confused” or “tempted” or “going through something.” They cheat because they wanted to. Period. They wanted the attention. They wanted the benefit of loyalty without the responsibility of being loyal in return.
And loyalty… that’s not optional. That’s not something you give when it’s easy or convenient. Loyalty is a responsibility you take on the moment you commit to someone. It’s what you promise when you look someone in the eyes and say, “I’m yours.” And it’s more than just physical. It’s emotional. It’s spiritual. It’s choosing your person every single day, even when things aren’t perfect. Even when you’re tempted. Even when you’re tired. Especially then.
Because love without loyalty is manipulation. It’s empty. It’s selfish...
So no… cheating is not a mistake. It’s not a slip-up. It’s not a phase. It’s a loud, clear message that says, “I knew this would hurt you, but I did it anyway.”
